We went to the blacksmith’s today for a Mother’s Day lunch. As usual the staff and manger were excellent. Very helpful and friendly. Food was wonderful and was enjoyed by my daughter (6) and by my husband and myself. Always make us feel welcome.

First visit to this pub and was greeted with a smile from the waitress in the dining area Chose where we wanted to sit and we’re presented with menus and drinks order taken straight away Meals ordered and arrived quickly and were excellent The staff checked on us for any more drinks and to confirm we were enjoying our food Desserts ordered and the bill arrived promptly Excellent, friendly and efficient service and the staff seemed to care that we enjoyed ourselves Tables and glasses were spotless and the pub was warm and cosy despite the weather being pretty chilly Overall a very enjoyable meal and drinks, complimented by the wonderful staff Look forward to visiting again soon.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived and the pub was warmly light to create a cosy atmosphere. Service not to fast but not to slow .. just right. Our orders were taken by a lovely chap who hailed from Milton Keyes ( but we didn’t hold that against him 🤣🤣🤣). Food was well cooked and tasty. All staff were very patient with us as 3 ladies out for a catch up there was plenty of fits of laughter especially when we were trying to order food. Brilliant night definitely recommend the Blacksmiths for a chilled out evening 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We went for lunch and were really impressed by everything. The interior is cosy and relaxing and feels very clean with some lovely decorative touches. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient with helpful suggestions. They even helped another customer out with directions for their onward journey! The food was delicious, we had items from both the normal and specials menus and were impressed with both.

1 star for service & smiley waitress, 1 star for what is obviously good quality food. Minus 3 stars for terribly overcooked food. Sunday lunch:- Yorkshire pudding turned to power with knife & fork. Roast potatoes very overcooked or been sat for about 2 hours. Veg soggy, gravy like instant gravy resulting in a lumpy mess. This is our second visit for a roast but thought we’d give you the benefit of the doubt after a similar experience last year.

Lovely relaxed spot for brunch - very dog friendly (water and dog treats available), roaring fire and welcoming staff! Highly recommend the farmers breakfast!

We had travelled from Cornwall for a birthday celebration. When we walked in we were welcomed by Alice, she was so friendly & went through the menu and nothing was too much trouble, a true asset to the place. There was a lovely atmosphere in the place, polite staff and very friendly. Harry the manager was very accomodating too. The food was really good too, with a Burns night menu, specials board & standard menu. A fantastic experience, thank you all at The Blacksmiths Arms & we'll see you soon.

Quickly accommodated a table of 11 including 4 hyper children as a walk in late on a Saturday afternoon. Good quality food, reasonably priced with outstanding service. All the food was enjoyable with generous portions. The chefs special pork was notably excellent according to my wife., she said it’s one of the best meals she’s had in months. The 2 open fires really added to the warm and friendly feel created by the staff who were all super polite and helpful.

Just had to visit here again after the excellent meal we had last time. It was good to see the high standard we expected to see was still maintained. The blacksmiths arms is now a regular treat for the family.

My friend and I had a very pleasant lunch today, chicken BLT, which was served with nice fresh hot fries and a small dressed side of rocket. Very pleasant ambience and lovely and warm on a cold day. We were served by Helen who was very efficient and helped me to sort my Tesco vouchers out. All in all could not fault a thing, which is just what you want when you eat out.

Very poor food , the pies were disgusting, all pastry with very little filling. We will not be visiting again.

Really great service with friendly and accommodating staff, especially Harry, who went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. The food was top quality and we got a sneaky try of a new dessert which was delicious. The restaurant is very clean and reasonably priced and we were promptly seated and served. Definitely recommend this place and we will be back.

Called in here twice recently, it's a Chef and Brewer pub, owned by Greene King and I enjoy their beer. On the first occasion, no Abbot and no Old Speckled Hen, only the Greene King pale was available. The OSH was apparently coming soon. We chatted with the manager, an amicable young chap who is doing his best to source the ale. Bearing in mind the OSH was coming soon, I convinced my neighbour to come here the following week. Mistakenly, I'd thought coming soon meant the barrel was just being settled in the cellar but it hadn't actually arrived at the pub. Again, no Abbot. Manager explained the situation, he's doing the best he can for sure but I was really disappointed. Ambience here is excellent and it's a warm, good looking pub that by all accounts does good food so 4 circles seems fair. I was really disappointed about the beer and we will undoubtedly be drinking somewhere else next time.

We were traveling on a Sunday Morning and this restaurant was conveniently roadside with ample parking. Dog friendly, Tidy, and Welcoming our experience was a Positive One.

From the moment we walked into the Blacksmiths we were looked after, the gentleman who served us thought of everything to ensure we had a relaxing breakfast. He brought out my daughters food first, adding fresh strawberries to her order as they are her favourite fruit. The breakfast was delicious, they cooked my order as I asked (crispy bacon) and it didn't disappoint. We were topped up with extra butter and condiments too. There was a good selection on the menu, safe to say we will be returning!
