Went in for breakfast on Sunday 6th April. Ordered, got our drinks and waited for our food. About 30 minutes in, we overheard the server telling a new arrival that the wait time was 1 hour! We checked with the server about when our food would arrive and we were told we were next up. 10 Minutes later we were told they were just doing our toast. From walking in and ordering to receiving our food was about 50 minutes. The food was okay but certainly not worth the wait 9this was up to 90 minutes by the time we left). If we had been made aware of how long we would have to wait, we would have gone elsewhere.

My partner and I stopped off for Sunday dinner. Nicest beef and chicken roast we've had out. Beautiful bar/restaurant the decor brautiful, dog and child friendly, great service and the staff were all so lovely. £19.90 for two meals I couldn't believe it. will definitely be back and be recommending to everyone.

As two couples who have been on a narrow boat all week, we booked a table for dinner. The place wasn’t crowded and we ate about 7.30. We ordered starters which were tasty but half the size we would expect for the price. We all had main courses. Two of us ordered the Shroppie Fly burger. It came with chips but not very many. I asked if we could have a few more and was told they have run out. This early! Before ordering, I asked the waitress if the burger was freshly cooked or pre cooked. She went away to check and came back to tell me, with details, that it was freshly cooked. Well having eaten it, I can tell you it certainly wasn’t freshly cooked. Absolutely no cooking juices flowed from the burgess like you would expect. It had that solid consistency you would expect if it was previously cooked then heated up or had sat waiting for quite some time. We were finally brought some extra chips having asked again. Being canal side, this pub is able to serve less than good quality food and get away with it. However, I would not choose to eat here again. Let’s hope the pub can learn from this and improve its offering. They charge top prices and for that I expect top standards. However these were not top standards. far from it.

Go at least weekly staff always professional and friendly until today ( Good Friday) staff member not seen before very belligerent and rude should not been at front end of the public. Asked for glasses to dissolve medication and required. A medium size glass half way through my explanation she interrupted me and told to get my own from where the tap water dispenser is. When I again tried to explain she tutted and sighed walking off coming back with 2 pint size glasses before walking away. I asked one of the regular staff for the required size which was no problem at all. When my husband tried to order onion rings instead of chips she told us we couldn’t do this, despite usually doing so on a regular basis. She said that the restaurant doesn’t offer this so I asked if she could check receiving another tutt and sign. She came back to say we could but didn’t offer any apology

Been visiting jodrell on and off as a cyclist for the last 5/6 years, from when the modern caterer was responsible for the cafe, sadly that came to and end a while ago and the university took back charge. The food seems to have been going downhill ever since. Todays (Sunday) breakfast offering consisted of sausage or bacon barms. Precooked and left to slowly cool in a pot, not kept warm or reheated, served on an unbuttered barmcake that was left to dry out in a paper bag. The whole thing soon disintegrated because it was dryer than Gandhi’s flip flop. And they have the cheek to charge £5 for it. On the (only) plus side the coffee is still decent. May be better in the week but today was embarrassing compared to how good it used to be.

Hard working polite staff but food was prettY awful. Had venison pie which I couldn’t finish. Red cabbage was disgusting. Due to the slow queue chips and cabbage were cold by time I sat down. Didn’t have a drink. Cakes looked unappetising.

We went to this restaurant last August for lunch and the food was amazing with hardly any waiting time. However, we decided to try for lunch again this weekend and the difference was upsetting. I stood in the queue behind five or six people and there was a chalkboard with "30 minutes wait for food" written on it. Okay so 30 mins, not too long to wait, but as I moved down the queue it got updated to 40 minutes then 60 minutes. No way is it acceptable to wait 60 minutes for food! The tea would have been cold after 15 minutes. Would they have replaced with a fresh pot. I don't think so. This is such a joke to expect people to wait for an hour for a meal. Come on STRIKES. Get more staff, you must be able to afford it. Shall not be back until they improve the waiting times.
