Just awful. Overpriced (£3.55 for a small bottle of coke is just madness!!!). Jacket potatoes were undercooked, flavour-less and no butter. All portions were incredibly small. Nothing positive to say, we felt really ripped off! Over £30 for a kids lunch box, kids jacket potato (tiny) and 1 adults jacket potato. It really did put a dampener on what was a lovely day out!

a very busy café that is clearly struggling to service the amount of people that are coming through the doors. Like most places getting staff to work is a major problem and this was clearly visible. The set up is not the best as getting in was hard as the entrance just bottlenecked . Once in service was slow due to not enough staff on but they were doing there best , Coffee and cakes were ok but surprised a bottle of coke at £3.55 was more expensive than the coffees and cakes

Really overpriced for what you get. £17 for a sausage sandwich, coffee, two bottled drinks and a kids meal. The sandwich was the worst I’ve had. No butter on muffin and sausages were lukewarm warm and hard. Little ones sandwich was half of one with a single slice of cheese that she didn’t like. Service was good and all staff friendly but food is a massive let down and compounded by the price.

Would recommend this place 0 stars if I could! Came in here with my son who is a child and we both ordered sausages and chips, child portions. They charged us £17.90 for these two small portions! When I went to the cashier to tell them there was a mistake, she said there isn't a mistake because we didn't order beans, which my son cannot have. So I can't work out why they've charged us more for less food?! The staff were rude also, and the food was actually cold and poor quality. My son left half of his, but rather than go and try and find a resolve we use left because we felt so badly treated. DO NOT EAT HERE!

I too wish I had read the reviews prior to venturing into this cold dismal uninviting restaurant (and that’s a loose term). The 'Restaurant' is poorly named. It is a cafe. The layout there is strange and confusing. Particularly the food queue. Staff didn't seem to bother with helping people find where they needed to go so there was just a clump of disorganised people in the middle with no clue what to do. The main foods are overpriced. It is local produce which is a plus but they are restaurant prices in a very run down cafe. We opted for the soup, which appeared to be popular with the others in there. It was supposed to be cream of mushroom but seemed to be lacking in cream and was just a mushroom mulch. It is in real need of updating and organising.

Considering the surrounding area of the park including the mansion and gardens have been maintained to a high standard, it’s then a shame to dine at such an unclean , unhygienic, run down cafe and overly expensive cafe. Floor covered in dirt , flies and wasps everywhere , food cold, basic and expensive. Cakes dry as a bone and coffee tasted bitter. Stopped over for lunch a few months ago with a friend en route to Tatton Park Gardens. What a mistake! It looks more like a canteen and the staff were rude and unhelpful. The food itself wasn't terrible, but overpriced for a couple of toasties! The overall experience left us disappointed. Seriously needs to improve its customer service and menu for starters. Breakfast items on offer but you can only have a barm of two of one item...2 xbacon, 2 xsausages. They can't cope with people asking for one of each! Why not?? How about "any two items for £1.80.." Oh yes, I forgot, so they can charge you extra for another rasher of bacon. Ludicrous! Don't order toast or teacakes and expect to get them warm or quickly. It took 10 minutes and three wasted teacakes to get one moderately warm. Haven't they got a simple toaster?? It was quiet when we arrived. I doubt they could cope with a queue. Seriously needs improvement Giving an extremely generous two stars as the people serving inside were totally pleasant but that's all. We waited quite a long time to be served as only one person serving and even just a few people in front of us made it so it took five to ten minutes to just order our coffees and get a beer. The two coffees barely tasted like coffee. More like hot water with soy milk and cost 3.50 each. I didn't drink it. The worst thing was when sitting outside I could easily count seven tables with plates and other cuttlery left over . Big black birds were hanging around pecking leftovers from the tables. I never saw anyone come out during the 30 minutes to 45 minutes I was there come out to clean up. Seriously needs improvement. The two stars are purely for the pleasant staff.

If the leek and potatoes used to create the soup were grown on site, then either the gardener and / or the chef should be employed elsewhere! The soup was truly awful, the croutons disgusting and the "crusty roll" would probably merit an award for being the smallest available on public sale. The soup was also cold - although, credit to the staff, it was ( unfortunately) replaced with a fresh, hot version - in hindsight it would have been better if there was no more and we could have been spared having to eat it! The restaurant was also shabby and dirty with used dishes piled on the tables. All in all a truly forgettable visit

I’ve regularly visited this place whilst walking in Tatton and always have the bacon/sausage barm. Went today, first time a couple of months, and was shocked at how much the prices have gone up - a sausage barm is now £6.50!! That’s around a 30% increase on what was already an overpriced item. Still only get 2 sausages in it too. Not sure who's in charge of pricing but that’s scandalous and it was no surprise that it was very quiet. Won’t be going again which is a shame.

I visited here today and all I can say is what a disappointment. The dining area was filthy- food crumbs all over the floor and most of the tables were dirty. Lots of staff standing around chatting (particularly the older ladies- one of whom appeared to be a manger dressed in black with pens in her hair but maybe not as I did not see her do a single thing in the entire time I was there), no efforts to clean any tables. When served, the lady who made my coffee was particularly rude and served me and overflowing hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows spilling over the cup onto the saucer. The cake, brownie and cookie we tried were stale and disappointing. Overall, a very poor experience of an expensive place with terrible customer service and products. Shockingly overpriced and mostly crap food. Three of us cycled to Tatton Park yesterday, all looking forward to a rewarding breakfast. The Breakfast baps looked reasonable at £6.50 so we all opted for one each thinking they would be good at this price. How wrong we were. Wouldn't have paid a quid for it, absolute rip off. A cheap unbuttered balm cake with one tiny sausage cut in half and a fried egg that looked like it had been created in a lab by nuclear fusion. In comparison go to Millennium bike cafe in St Helens. For the same price you will receive a full English with 2 sausage, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hash browns, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, 2 toast, and a cup of tea or coffee. Anyway, still hungry we decided we would have a cake and another coffee. Now, the chocolate cake I had was nice and a descent portion for £4.50. Mate fancied a scone, again about £4. Looked nice but if you wanted clotted cream you had to purchase a tiny little pot of it for an extra few quid. Unbelievable, you could get a full banquet for 1 at our local Chinese chippy for the price of a scone with jam and cream from this place. All in, between the 3 of us it cost just under £50 for a Saturday afternoon café stop. No chance we'll be using this place again. Check out the photo. I would like to ask the management of the company if they would be happy paying £6.50 for that. Disgusting.

We've used this restaurant many times and enjoyed the food. Today we had the unfortunate experience of visiting again. The meal choice was very unappetising looking sandwiches, bacon or sausage bap or soup. 2 of us chose bacon and sausage bap which was acceptable but had obviously been kept hot for some time as the bacon was becoming hard and dry. However, the other person is vegetarian so had a choice of carrot or tomato soup with a crusty roll. The tomato soup was nearly £5 and came in a takeaway mug. The roll was about 5cm across, 1 cm in height and solid as a rock. There were only shallow wooden teaspoons on offer, no metal soup spoon could be provided. We were so disgusted that we returned the soup and asked for a refund which was given. Post Covid was given as the reason but this is no excuse for such paltry offerings as other establishments are offering excellent service. In fact we drove less than a mile for lovely food at a nearby garden centre. Cheshire East hang your heads in shame.

So I would really like East Cheshire Council, who run Tatton, to tell me A) why the restaurant at Tatton today is takeaway only served from behind screens so you can't even pick your own food. B) when I can buy a range of sandwiches from ANY garage why they can't serve one made of brown bread, only white C) just how much revenue East Cheshire ratepayers have missed out on because somebody at the top has decided for 7 months - SEVEN MONTHS! - not to reopen this normally heavily used restaurant. I wouldn't be in a rush to return here.

Very tasty food. Topical Slovakian cuisine. The rich menu also in English. Very nice and efficient service. The interior design is very atmospheric in a very old-fashioned style, which suits me because you are transported to distant times. During my one-week stay, I didn't change to another restaurant. Very affordable prices. I recommend.

Take away service only for Covid reasons. Service was so slow that I left without getting served. Take a picnic!

We booked for my birthday and thought we would have a nice tea and it was truly awful! Weak and cheap coffee, dry cakes and small sandwiches!!! So awful 😞 the bar manager was lovely and gave us a 100% discount… will not return 🤮🤢

Been visiting jodrell on and off as a cyclist for the last 5/6 years, from when the modern caterer was responsible for the cafe, sadly that came to and end a while ago and the university took back charge. The food seems to have been going downhill ever since. Todays (Sunday) breakfast offering consisted of sausage or bacon barms. Precooked and left to slowly cool in a pot, not kept warm or reheated, served on an unbuttered barmcake that was left to dry out in a paper bag. The whole thing soon disintegrated because it was dryer than Gandhi’s flip flop. And they have the cheek to charge £5 for it. On the (only) plus side the coffee is still decent. May be better in the week but today was embarrassing compared to how good it used to be.

Used to be quite good, but gone down the pan. Soup, now I can make better. Appearance and texture of cheap packet stuff. Chips, now how do you manage to serve hot chips and cold chips in the same serving? Poached salmon fillet; thin piece of tail end, over cooked and dry. Got to get your own cutlery, sort of like self service. Staff doing their best, but run off their feet. Really disappointing and dare I say it, overpriced 🫤

The staff were excellent and extremely accommodating when we came to celebrate my Nannas 85th Birthday! They honestly couldn’t do enough! We will be back!
