Great for a quick breakfast or dinner. Lots of choice of beers and ciders.

Popped in here for the first time as I was wondering around the town on a visit . I rarely drink but it was a nice sunny day so thought I’d have one ! What a great building , full of character and a huge selection of food and drinks at fair prices . The barmaid could do with perking up a little . I don’t expect a 21 gun salute when I walk in but a bit more engagement would be nice . Other than that fine and recommended .

Dirty plates everywhere. Nobody cleans up.carpets covered in food.Have seen male staff members going to toilet and walking out not washing their hands.disgusting.

Back in Spoons and again, it's a 3.5 but friendly staff were working hard despite clearly being short staffed. Usual school friends reunion and although they don't live in Macclesfield, they were perfectly happy here, despite the fact we'd been in the excellent Chilli Banana on the last two occasions. Post after work crowd and the tables were unkempt. They were happy to clean one immediately. Ordered online, no issues, drinks arrived in good time. Sadly they had not had time to change the Abbot barrel but Doom is a good standby. Bought a round later and chuffed to see my favourite ale, Adnams Broadside. People moan about Wetherspoons on here but there's a reason it does good business. I'm pretty sure I was paying more than twice the price for Broadside, on a Chelsea away day in the Anglesey Arms 10 years ago. Food came in good time and two of us had the cod and chips, no complaints. As it was a special, cost £9 something and included a pint. Just need to get the tables tidied up and have a general clean round to maybe get a 5 sometime.

Good place with lovely atmosphere

Decent enough ambience for a Wetherspoon's and an interesting history to the building. All let down by my fish and chips which were barely warm.

Great pub with sensibly priced drinks and food, occasionally bring the kids here on a Sunday for breakfast. Staff are always friendly and pub clean.

We were caravanning not far away so always check if there is a Wetherspoon nearby. It is good that they take over property which might end up derelict and turn them into lovely pubs like this one. My husband had the beef lasagne served with a salad which we hadn't noticed on the menu recently. We used to enjoy the vegetarian lasagne so I hope that goes back on the menu. I had 8 chicken wings served with a spicey dip, coleslaw and chips – there were a lot of chips so I shared some with my husband.

Working in the area for a while so me and my work mates always pop in for a full fat Friday lovely and great value for money top marks.

Ordered sirloin steak , medium , however a bit tough, mainly due to the steak being very fatty and grissly , a bit disappointing , however the burger my neice had was very tasty xxx

First time here and a minor error in the order rectified immediately so no complaints. Chef extremely apologetic and courteous. Never had a bad experience in JD's and as ever, it depends a lot on location as to the differing atmospheres. We'll be back that's for sure! .... second visit today. Went for lunch. Busy and service quite slow. Personally think thst the food quality has diminished in terms of quantity and quality. This is æsthetically one of nicest JDs I've been in and think it deserves a 'shske-up".

So glad it's not full of predators(I'm vulnerable)wouldn't come in because of it u are currently doing a great job.

14.5 bobbed in for breakfast with friends- great as usual- the new fiesta is really tasty. Popped in to escape the rain and have some lunch with my daughter. Had small dishes; fish, chips & mushy peas and all day brunch. Great sized portions. Food lovely and hot. Daughter said the fish and chips were as good as our chippy- high praise indeed. Just had soft drinks. Pub was fairly quiet which was great as daughter is autistic so struggles with crowds sometimes. Staff lovely and friendly.

If I clearly hated my job as much as the lady does in here I would quit - rude and questioning me asking for butter for my bread stating it was already buttered.. Poached eggs came hard boiled and green from being kept warm for so long.. the picture if the return once sending it back once before. If it wasn’t spoons I would of refused to pay and left.. Miserable atmosphere and the worst spoons breakfast I have ever had

I’m not going to tell you a lie, this place is disgusting. If you want to eat at a place with microwaved steak, vile and dirty carpets, sticky tables, and surrounded by 70 year old men having a pint or 10 at the ripe old time of 2pm, tgis place is for you. However, if you have any self respect or class in your body you should avoid coming here at all costs. This doesn’t count for friday nights after 8pm because the cocktail pitchers are absolutely scrumptious.

Does exactly what it says on the tin at a great price, especially when they have got a special discount on breakfast.

This has to be the cleanest Wetherspoons around! The ladies room was spotless. The food was delicious and the lady taking orders at the bar was very friendly.

This branch of Spoons is central, local and accessible for us. I'd love it to have a refurb. I would be glad if we could receive piping hot food on heated plates. Whingeing out of the way. I like that there are different seating arrangements in various parts of the pub. I like the staff. I can take anyone there and they generally know what to expect. We enjoy meeting there, whether for a drink or food.

We went for lunch with a group of friends,the food was good and hot and we didn't have to wait to long for it to arrive

Wetherspoon is always or almost always a good option to eat something and pay almost nothing for a good pint, when as in this case, the staff are friendly, it becomes top.

A decent weatherspoon that's been around for a long time. The prices are still good but the food quality's gone downhill over the past 5 years or so. Even so it's a weatherspoons and they've got a good selection of bears so you can't really complain

Worst wetherspoons I have ever been too. Full of loud rowdy people, this place required security guy's with body cams. Toilets were disgusting. Food was rubbish. It was a complete dive, sorry I set foot in the place.

Wouldn't know,couldn't get a table

Went in at 11 for breakfast. It was very quiet but we still waited about 20 mins for our food. Asked them at the bar when we ordered out food if they would come and wipe the dirty table from the previous diners. No one came so we found a cloth st the end of the bar and fid it ourselves. We thought after waiting such a time fir our food that it would be hot but it was cold and the eggs were not edible. The yolks were solid

I went to visit family yesterday and treat them for a meal as we won't see each other now until after Christmas. I Ordered for 3 people. My partners beef curry was cold, yes I mean it hadn't been heated up properly at all. So I was obviously disappointed as she then had to wait a while to get reheated dish back.

Went for a curry, couldn't fault it, the price was reasonable and the service was quick. As usual the drinks were spot on and there was an excellent variety of ales. The place has had a makeover and looked good. All in all a good night out.

Quite a smart and spacious place. Good food and drink at good prices. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I only get an hour for dinner but it takes about 15 to get served, and the lady on the bar will not stop grabbing! Management need to pull there fingers out and hire some more staff! However hats off to the staff who work so hard to serve and please the customers, especially Ela shes very lovely and hard working.

Just popped in for a pint. Only downside was the state of the toilets. The wc's were in a discussing state with urine on the floor, locks that didn't work and toilets that wouldn't flush. Disappointed!

Usual reliable JD Wetherspoon offering of through the day opening, wifi access and plenty of places to sit with a laptop abd refreshment for a couple of hours.

Went for a family lunch, 3 orders, 1-2 children each. 2 orders arrived. Didn't receive my kids order after 50 minutes. Spoke to a staff member (read until the end). He was very rude and refused to accept they had forgotten our order. Every excuse was used. He even said it was our fault as we "should have ordered and paid together" order still hadn't arrived after an hour so requested a refund. Cheekily only refunded the food and charged for the drinks. Took another polite note to say we only ordered drinks to accompany our food. Finally got a full refund. In reference to the start of this review the rude staff member I originally spoke to was in fact the manager, Nigel. (Just for reference as it was impossible to identify or request the manager, he has a man bun). The other staff were helpful and obviously over worked. Poor management as usual 😕

What you’d expect however the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is surprisingly good.

Standard Weatherspoons, large cheap and cheerfull the foods always the same quality not high end but always good and satisfying. Breakfast and bottomless coffee takes some beating.

Unless you are a local don't bother. Went in there today. 14/10. at 13:30. My son his wife my wife and obviously myself. We went to the bar to order food. Waited patiently. A local came up to the bar well after we did. When the barmaid finished serving who she was already serving, she then totally blanked myself and my son and asked the local what he was having. Totally out of order. As she plainly saw we were waiting. So we left and went over the road. Glad we did.

Decent wetherspoon's comfy seating area, 10 minutes walking distance from the nearby Travelodge. food was fine, Macclesfield was cool town, couldn't fault the weather. Looking forward to going back. Cheers. 😁

We went here on a Saturday at noon, to meet some friends and we knew it would be very reasonable The service was fast and efficient The food was hit and miss: The 10 oz gammon and chips was under cooked for my liking, a lot of fat and it looked a bit 'yuk' The veg curry was a bit tasteless The fish and chips was ok The apple crumble was a bit tasteless and powdery Decor was great, seats and chairs were stain free The wheelchair accessible toilets were clean and tidy Overall we enjoyed it so highly recommended

It's a Wetherspoons which, in a way, should say it all. But TBH we had Tuesday's Steak Club meal, the special Sirloin steak which was excellent and the 1/2 roast chicken, equally good with drinks for about £22. The previous evening we'd paid around £60 for something similar at a pub.

Amazing building with plenty of space inside. Inside it is just your typical weatherspoons. I have been in here a few times and never have had a bad experience though.

This example of the Wetherspoons pubs is close to the shopping center & tourist information office in Macclesfield. For those knowing Wetherspoons the layout felt familiar and ordering was easy. We visited on a Monday in summer school holidays. The place was quiet and finding a table easy. All our order - food and drinks - arrived at the same time. (Recently our experience at other Wetherspoons has been drinks arrive separately) Staff were quietly efficient too.

A tired and scruffy Wetherspoons. Full of 16 year olds on Friday & Saturday nights and is best avoided. Flat / stale ales which is standard Wetherspoons. It's cheap for a reason! Only worth having soft drinks which aren't overpriced like many pubs. Now fitted cctv in the toilets which is an invasion of privacy. Likely to get themselves in serious trouble unless it is removed promptly.
