Staff very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the roast dinner in yorkshire pudding and couldn't fault it. Everything on the plate was freshly prepared and the homemade sauces added a special touch. I would highly recommend

Came here on recommendation!!! They must hate me !!! Miserable staff !!! First 3 things I asked for they didn’t have !!!! This is 14.57 on a Saturday afternoon!! So opted for the fish and chips !! Typical chain food !! Frozen fish !! Soggy chips and generally bad !! Got a very small pot of peas ! So I think they’d run out of them too !!! Get your chef in order or sack him !!! How can you run out of gammon steak which come vac packed and steak pie which is obviously frozen !! Nothing but bad management !! On a plus point the exit door was perfect !!!! Avoid at all costs !!!

Had a double bacon cheeseburger & half a bowl of chips. The maple bacon was really nice. The burger was like it was out of a can. I asked for my plate to be collected, unfinished. The guy who collected my plate, made a joke about my dog wanting it. I wouldn’t feed it my dog.

Called in for a quick pint after finishing work early, lovely staff new manager lady Paula was super fun and I stayed longer than planned the chips were delicious and homemade great place under new management good luck guys !!

The food is lovely and the staff are absolutely amazing!! Love being in a pub where they make you feel like family. You never want to leave when the staff are so nice . It’s my regular pub and it’s the only one I go to as it’s just perfect! Food is also superb Mario and Darious are great chefs! All the team are ace . Love it!! 100/10

I came here with two of my friends. We ordered lots of margaritas, which weren’t on the menu, and Sarah behind the bar made them for us anyway- despite being really busy serving during the football match on TV- and did an amazing job. The food was nice (I had the fish pie) and the general vibe was warm and welcoming.

Everyone was brilliant, lisa, jonathan, adam and kearan and mario were very friendly. Its my regulr pub and i love coming here. The burger is tasty and the beer is great. Thanks guys!

we stumbled across this pub after our dog walk in Tatton our bartender Lisa and the bar staff were lovely and chatty, Lisa even got our dog some water and treats. What a credit to the pub, really looked after us during our time there. ( sorry didn't manage to get anybody else's names) We didn't eat however we will be back for food in the future.

Booked a table for dinner for 6pm. Turned up (having driven 40 minutes) only to be told they aren’t serving food past 6pm. Terrible service. Staff tried to blame it on the website (booked over the phone so that’s rubbish), then tried to blame it on the management (who are apparently away). Didn’t even apologise (one man came over after and did apologise). Absolute disgrace.

Really nice welcoming environment after a long flight! We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday roast with all the trimmings, the quality of the produce was excellent, the drinks were nice and the service again was great. Ash is a credit to the pub, couldn’t do more for us - well done! Will definately visit again!

Fab pub that has just had a change of Management. He seems to be doing a great job, showing lots more live sports and is very interactive with the customers. Excellent weekend entertainment.

Popped in for a pint as the place looked warm and inviting....and yes it was! Great to see Black Sheep on draught and it was delicious. Place is very spacious, with an inviting, friendly feel.

Had a lovely late lunch here on Sunday. Brought the dog too and lovely barman brought him some treats. Excellent fish and chips and a Sunday roast Roast potatoes were perfect as were the chips and that’s always a good indicator of decent pub food. Lovely decor and relaxed atmosphere a real everybody welcome kind of pub 🤗

Nice clean pub and decor---good beers and food, but if you go to gents toilet for a number two, no privacy, enclosure, just sit on toilet seat next to two urinals--you're suppose to change sign on entry door to say engaged, imagine when it's busy and people have had a bit to drink, they'll just barge in!

Quick thanks to the manager for reserving a table exactly where we wanted it. Each and every one of the staff were friendly and very helpful. I'm a local and haven't been for a while but so good to go back. All my friends thoroughly enjoyed the food and beer.

Lovely space, great service and an enjoyable Sunday roast dinner, highly recommended. We visited as a large group and booked out the conservatory which worked well with all of our kids

Visited Old Sessions twice in early January after we had been walking with our dog on Tatton Park. Super warm welcome by Vinny(?), nothing too much trouble, dog very welcome and was provided water and snacks. We ordered super and sandwiches which were generous and good quality. Highly recommended!

Well I have to say I have lived in Knutsford for all my life and never had food in the old sessions before… The waiter had the most lovely dimples and was amazing polite…. The fish and chips was delightful and when they say whale...

What looks right and old fashioned pub from the outsider is a surprise inside having been wonderfully re-furbished during lockdown. Inside very trendy and inviting. Great selection of beers and food. The sandwiches are ginormous. The staff and very welcoming. Great place to visit

We had a wonderful experience at the Old Sessions House today. We booked last minute for 1pm and they couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful.It is extremely dog friendly as we took our miniature dachshund.We were served promptly and all safety measures were in place including staff wearing masks and the correct social distancing in place.We had two Sunday roasts, one pork and one chicken and they were delicious!I have never had such a fantastic Yorkshire pudding! Superb! The gravy was tasty and rich and my fiancé had a few pints of Timothy Taylor’s which he really enjoyed.We didn’t have room for pudding but the cappuccino’s are a perfect way to finish the meal.We would not hesitate to return.Cheryl & Stuart

We went for an impromptu Monday lunch and were greeted at the door by Salvo, who was friendly polite and engaging from the outset. He explained the covid set up and took our details and from that point of view things couldn't have been safer! We ordered a burger and lamb shank (from the British food fortnight menu) and sausage and mash for our son. All were prompt, delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

Had Sunday lunch with friends. Our meal was good and came quickly after ordering. The 2-course deal is good value. The staff were very helpful and friendly, an we didn’t feel rushed.

This evening I had a drink in the old sessions house Knutsford, the service smile and professionalism of the staff was second to none, they are very aware of the times we are living in, with sanitizers at the doors and track and trace details being taken, lovely interior with the nicest wallpaper I’ve ever seen, and the young lady that served us was very professional (Katie) will definitely be going again 6 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent choice. Food was top quality. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff extremely pleasant. Plenty of hand wash and tables placed perfectly for social distancing. Can not recommend highly enough and the bonus is you get £10 per person off! Will be returning very shortly.

We had a fab meal there today. The best Fish and Chips we had for a while. The staff were so friendly to my family. It was great to go there, shame I don't live nearby otherwise I would go back.As we went on a Monday the food was really cheap due to this government scheme. I would still have been happy if I paid full price.

They are a great dog friendly pub, even the dog left with a full belly of biscuits! Will be back... especially for the great coffee! 10/10 would reccommend.

We have travelled to the area for a 10 day stay. With all the new Covid restrictions we have found it impossible to find somewhere with amazing service! Then we came across The Old Session house on Monday! The food was amazing, the decor of the pub was so welcoming, there were all things in place to protect against covid but in a way that didn’t ruin your visit! Then there was the service, the gentleman who served us was one of the best I have ever come across and made us feel so welcome and valued and you could tell he had a passion for what he was delivering! Fast forward to today - Sunday dinner! We had to come back and I had waited all week to visit again! Food was amazing - the gravy, well I could have ate a bowl of it, all cooked to perfection and the pudding was amazing! Everyone who served us was so friendly and made you feel like they really cared about your visit! We’ve already planned to visit again on Tuesday before we go back home! Honestly, amazing in all ways possible! Whoever it is who is cooking, definitely knows how to cook! The staff just added to the experience! I honestly could not recommend enough! Thank you so much! Hopefully we will come again on Tuesday and maybe plan another visit in the future! I could honestly keep writing positive after positive!

Called there on a quiet afternoon , 2 couples , beer and wine very good , served by a friendly barman . Meals ordered 3 burgers and a Caesar salad . Sweet potato fries with mine ,perfect enjoyed. Perfect Caesar salad with anchovies . . 4meals 4 beers 4 wines £78 good value good service

Used to enjoy a visit to the Old Sessions House, good menu and service in a pleasant environment. Went for a meal on a Saturday evening - the food was poor (frozen burgers). What used to be a pleasant pub/restaurant environment now seems to be a pub that does a bit of food not very well. Maybe that's what the management want but personal view is that it's not as good as it used to be.

This place used to be amazing. Amazing food, great service and superb atmosphere. That’s no longer the case. The food is bang average, it’s nothing special and in my honest opinion, it is massively overpriced. I won’t be coming again. That’s for sure.

Come here every day for a drink during our lunch hour and hear the manager swear at us under his breath because we’d been to the shops prior and brought our unopened snacks in with us. Very upset.

Went with 6 friends on Sunday afternoon. First impressions were good, nice decor and felt cosy. We were offered table service but then waited 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Food wasnt great, overpriced for what it is. Strongly advise against ordering a dessert, they are tiny and way overpriced at £6 plus. The "chocolate" bread and butter pudding was such a letdown...a tiny piece of vanilla sponge type cake with 2 (3 max) chocolate chips in it, smothered in luke warm ambrosia custard. wasted calories!! The staff were pretty miserable and distant. Such a shame as it has great potential. I would go back for a drink but would never eat in there again.

My partner and I attended here on Sunday afternoon with a couple of friends. We booked a table anticipating it would be busy with Sunday roast eaters however the place was empty. On arrival we were shown to our table which was located in the lovely modern conservatory at the rear of the pub. The waiter provided us with drinks and food menus and was soon back to take our drinks order. Drinks and food menus had loads of variety, we went straight in for mains, the boys had a burger and fish and chips whilst both us girls had the roast beef. After around 20 mins our food arrived this is expected when it’s fresh food... or so we thought. The fish a chips arrived along with the burger, the batter around the fish and the onion rings was bright orange and soggy with grease, the mushy peas were very dry and crumbly as though they’d been sitting under a heat lamp all day, and the burger was described as being ‘not nice’ like a Birdseye frozen one. The mushy peas got sent back and with in a few minutes a fresh pot of very mushy peas arrived to replace them. On a positive note the roast beef was delish!!!! Our plates were cleared in a timely manor and we reviewed the desserts, a very small selection and nothing really stood out as a yummy Sunday dessert. No kind of chocolate cake and custard or apple pie and custard etc... a bit disappointing so we decided to go to another restaurant further down for desert. The bill came to around £75, considering we only had 4 drinks and meals I felt it was a little high for the standard of food. I wouldn’t rush to return if I’m totally honest.

First time visit pleasantly surprised. What a nice pub with a lovely atmosphere. Service was excellent as was the food. Great choice and good portions. Would definitely recommend. The reviews on this Pub are generally right. Don’t go! What an awful amateur establishment. Frozen food - still served frozen in the middle. Asked to speak to the owner/manager............either too embarrassed or couldn’t be bothered. Two lunches taken off the bill. 20% off the rest. Disgusting food. Horrible place to visit. I didn’t want to argue - they have reduced the bill by 50%.Don’t waste your time or money here. I have violent indigestion after eating my fillet of salmon. I am drinking a cup of hot water. Ugh.

Nice, place, lovely staff, but Sunday roast beef dinner couldn’t have been more disappointing! Potatoes and veg were tepid, and roast beef whilst tasty was fatty and gristly. The York I’ve was good! Considering it was an early lunch and quiet there wasn’t any excuse. The apple pie for desert was barely defrosted and the custard barely warm. Needless to say won’t be returning!

We’ve been in here many times but only ate her for the first time recently with my mum. The pub itself is fantastic after its refurbishment and feels unbelievably cosy. They have a great variety of beers, wines and gins and show different sporting events. The pub is also dog friendly!

I’ve eaten at TOSH 4 or 5 times in the last few years. The food was disappointing this last visit, having always been good before. Tough pork belly with leathery crackling, the chips were good though.

This pub is lovely inside since the refurb. We turned up as an impromptu group from work and they accommodated us in the conservatory area which has glorious hummingbird wallpaper and cheery velvet seats. They had a smashing lunch deal where you could get a starter and a main for £12. The parma ham and asparagus was really delicious (very 'Knutsford') but I was a bit disappointed in the fish and chips (too greasy, chips not very good) but I would go back to sample other delights on the menu. The service was very fast (and friendly) considering a large group turned up unannounced - I was very impressed!

The refurb is nice and service was really good. There was a nice atmosphere.

Had a lovely unplanned lunch today here with my friend and wee man. Really great place to grab lunch with a baby, plenty of space for the pram and really attentive staff. The two young lads working at the bar were extremely friendly and offered great customer service. The food was well priced, I got the 2 course for 12 and found it very good value for the quality of food. Would highly recommend and would return.

A friend recommended we visit this place for our evening meal - what a pleasant surprise - decor fresh and bright- dogs allowed - comfy seats - lovely menu .... we had a sharing board which we thoroughly enjoyed.friendly staff

Called in only for drinks to see the new refurbishment and was very impressed. Great light atrium area to rear with beautiful decor, love the wallpaper! The owner then informed me of the refurb, he was very friendly and helpful. Lots of original nooks and crannies too and low ceilings, large bright bar area and tv area. Menu looks good so will definitely return to eat here. Enjoyed our drinks in the large comfortable velvet chairs.

We dined here last night with good friends. We loved the new interior, really hip and very smart. Sadly the food was only OK, but thankfully good friends made for a great night regardless. Would come again for sure

We met up with family here on 4th July for lunch. There were five of us including a one year old, who sat in a child seat.

Non male la mia porzione di salmone, ma, considerato il prezzo, era veramente piccola. Knutsford e’ un paese decisamente benestante e tutto li’ costa un po’ piu’ del normale.

Staff and food were very good here and we had a very enjoyable lunch. This is well worth a try. Sometimes booking can be necessary.

Beautifully decorated... created lovely atmosphere. Menu very broad.... anything from nibbles to a big roast meal.

I visited the sessions on 20/6/19, there is nothing but good things to say about this place. The place has a warm feel to it, you get greeted by friendly staff, the menu is fresh and not your average pub grub. From the nibbles through to the desserts, there is something to suit everyone, the kids choice is good, there are lunchtime deals. The prices are as good as anywhere else I've been I would reccomend the old sessions house for any occasion. Enjoy!!

Very few people in the restaurant around 5pm midweek. Staff were obliging without being too fussy. Easily agreed to some variation on the meals. Pass was visible from the restaurant so you could see the chef constantly wiping down and meals not being delayed at the pass. All in all very commendable with food standard also good. One tip - if you want to give a tip, for some reason they can’t do it through the card machine! Need some cash on you or they go without!

Rubbish rubbish rubbish. Terrible service, had to walk out and cancel the food order as waited 45 minutes and there was no kitchen staff. It was terrible!! Dont go!

We ate here on st pats night for my partners 70th, good food but ask for your gravy separate , we didn’t and my partners came out covered in gravy... so much nicer if you put that bit on yourself, good otherwise.

Nice looking pub - great venue/staff but not for cocktails - mojito? No - rum with a lot of ice and soda ..... sorry but a bit disappointed.

There are so many good restaurants in and around Knutsford, The Old Sessions House was somewhere that had slipped off the radar.

We nipped in for lunch last Thursday and had a fantastic meal. I haven’t eaten here for some time and the management had changed since our last visit. The menu had also changed and what a lovely menu it was. I chose the steak which was on the specials menu and chose a peppercorn sauce. It was exceptional. The fat chips were amazing. My husband had beef stroganoff and rice and that was also divine. Very reasonably priced, lovely staff and management. We will be back soon to try your Sunday lunch.

Revisited as so great last time. But So disappointed today. First put on a table in a cold area and no atmosphere. Asked to be moved We were moved to another table a little warmer. No grills on Sunday so no steak available. So we opted for Sunday roast beef all round Food not hot and served with onions and cloveA of garlic and twigs of rosemary Beef very stringy and chewy Roast potatoes barley cooked. We found ourself in Knutsford and called in here for a coffee. (Very Rock 'n' Roll!) It is a trendy looking place, with pleasant staff. It was a little chilly in there when the door opened, which was annoying.

Long wait for food, nice but average and not cheap, then long wait for the bill. Plenty of other places to go. But it is dog friendly.

Old sessions recently hosted a Hen Doo for me and 25 friends, I have to say they were fantastic from the start and really made the evening as special as possible for my friend. The food was amazing and considering we had 26 orders for starters and mains (which had loads of alterations) they all came out correctly and everyone commented on how lovely the food was! Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again for a party or just me and my husband. Also little shout out to Chloe who was one of our waitresses who was fantastic!

I took my wife and two young boys to meet friends with their kids for a catch up. Table booked for 1:30pm so we all arrived at 1:15pm. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive and were wrong. Ordered food at 1:30pm and at 3pm we decided to walk out as food hasn’t arrived after promises that ‘the food was on it's way” countless times. All starving we went around the corner to The Angel, where we were served within 15 minutes with good food. We will never go back to The Old Session. Diabolical.

I don’t normally write reviews but I feel like our waiter mark deserves some credit, he turned an ok lunch into a really lovely experience! He was on his own An rushed off his feet yet still was more attentive than many fully staffed places I have been! Nothing was to much trouble, he was friendly an happy An went above an beyond the basic service! It’s the little things that make a big difffrence so thank you! It was refreshing to see enthusiasm rather than someone just doing a job to get paid!

Had a fantastic evening at the Old Sessions House. Food was fantastic - great portions, quality food and menu with variety. The double stack burger is for any serious meat lovers! Chef Darius deserves a special mention ;-) Lovely cocktails including a treat for if you can’t manage a dessert! The place has a great vibe & cool music. Staff and service was amazing, Chloe and Sam looked after us throughout our visit - attentive, charming and very engaging. Would return just to seem them again. What a shame. This used to be one of our favourite restaurants in knutsford. Not been for a couple of years now and it has definitely gone downhill. The menu is very bog standard, similar to you would find in a Harvester. Half the things we tried to order from this very basic menu we were told were not available. I asked for a pizza and apparently no pizzas left, my husband tried to order chicken wings for a starter and again told there were non. We ended with Nachos to start and fish and chips & a burger for main. Really not great. We will not go back.

We had our Christmas dinner here on Christmas Day and, I have to say, I was very impressed. The staff were great, the food was very tasty and there was a festive atmosphere. I’d definitely recommend it to others.
