Visited for the first and last time on Friday 12th May 2023. Wasnt busy but took ages to get served with only 1 person before me. the young staff talk a lot, have no customer service skills at all, also the coffee was not that good. Tables were not getting cleared. Had to go back to the counter for spoons. The place is large and the whole place needs some sorting out.

Qued for 5 minutes then went to the toilet, came back and qued again. Very slow service as que did not move and no apology offered. Gave up and left

They charged me an extra 50 p for one marshmallow. Really!? They even delivered it in a bag. One marshmallow. In a paper bag. Alongside the drink.

The drinks are great, especially the coffee. Staff really helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble The cakes are delicious too.

The staff make this place. Always super friendly and happy to help. Great pit stop for a coffee! Yes it’s just a Costa Coffee… but it’s all about the team that work here.

I called in for a quick coffee before my long drive North. The place itself was clean, the staff friendly and the coffee fine, albeit a little expensive!

Visited Congleton highly street with a friend. Staff surley and rude . Do they want customers I wonder as I won’t be going back. I understand they are a franchise so costa must have some standards to let them open but obviously no standards for staff. It doesn’t take much to be nice to customers after all they wouldn’t have a business without us. Complained through my app to costa but never got a reply . Not recommended.

I have visited dozens of Costa coffee shops, so when I arrived in Congleton I just had to stop for a coffee. The coffee shop looks unappealing, most of the tables have been removed leaving only a few places to sit. 2m between tables, here it seems more like 4 - 5m between tables. Staff insisted you completed track and trace, and show them before they take your order. Usually I would do track and trace whilst sat at a table with my coffee. Just making queues at the till longer than necessary. Service is not the best, but as usual the Coffee was good, as at any Costa branch.

If you want a coffee in Congleton on a Sunday, there isn’t much choice ! So we made our way to Costa, which is a bit dark and dingy! ! Service was quick and normal Costa offering !

Just called in for a drink and a snack, as it started to rain. First tired: Is the place itself, it's a bit shabby and even though very quiet, the tables, both inside and outside, had dirty crockery on them whilst staff seemed unbothered. They were still the same when we left 20 minutes later. Second tired: The staff didn't seem to care about the dirty tables and crockery, maybe tired of cleaning up. Third tired: The "coffee maker" (not a Barista by a long chalk) made our drinks then lifted both cups close to the top by the rim where people drink from, but I'm too tired of explaining to people that " the top half of the glass/cup belongs to the customer, the bottom half is for them to use/touch" to serve with. All in all, not clean, hygenic or inviting. The problem, maybe, lies with the low wages that hospitality staff are paid, which in turn makes them sick and tired of going to work?

Another Costa which has no interest in vegan customers. Why this brand has become so hit and miss is a mystery. No vegan spread for the toast. No vegan panini or sandwich. I had one in another Costa less than 4 weeks ago. It shouldn’t be down to whether they feel like selling something- either do it or don’t. Offered a vegan flapjack as a lunchtime meal. Wow thanks. Voted with our feet.

Unusual for a Costa to be so poor. The standard of the premises was at best shabby and at worst run down. Although our visit was first thing they didn't have what we requested and when we sampled the coffee it was insipid. One to miss in future

They do what they say on the tin really! You know what you are getting with Costa. It’s clean and tidy so that’s a plus point, but I think they could do with another toilet as there is always a que for the 1 toilet. Frequent visitor and pretty standard Costa really. Staff always seem friendly.

Costa has lots of fans but it is a brand that looks and tastes the same wherever you go, and that is the appeal to many customers. But it has stiff competition in Congleton with a new quirky locally owned café next door. Costa looks and feel brown, dull a little used and uncared for compared to the new place. Its all about personal taste but its Wild & Wild for me from now on.

After working for costa for many years, I have become a highly arrogant coffee snob as I know how the coffee standard should be. The coffee was terrible, milk was airy and not silk, the espresso was burnt and tasted bitter. Not good but is usually a common standard in a costa franchise. Over hearing the barista on the machine claim that he does not drink coffee nor enjoy left a sour taste, same principal as having a mechanic work on your car who has no interested in cars, they will always do a slap dash job and never car about quality.

I ordered medium Latte not too hot 120 degrees I got primo latte made with cold milk?When I told the young lady she was shorty and said basically I got what I ordered..How rude!I know what I ordered I always have the same! She could and should have said sorry I must have misheard I will get you what you ordered. This is good customer service or should be.I always enjoy my coffee in Congleton Costa don't let the standard fall!

Visited on a very hot day.No aircon . Usual quality stuff. I do like Costa but do keep maintaining your shop to make it a good environment.

Clean and tidy, served hot coffees quickly and with a smile. Have always received nice service from here, thanks. Will visit again.

Whilst on a canal holiday, I really needed a coffee fix, we moored up at Congleton at 3.50 pm on Sunday expecting everything to be shut but good old Costa open till 5.00 pm. Service was brilliant two extremely helpfull young men. Much enjoyed cappuccino and lemon tart, what a lovely end to a fab sunday.

Visited on Friday as an end of week treat and was disappointed. A sea of tables with dirty pots needing to be cleared, chaos and clutter behind the counter and an area of flooring waiting to be replaced. Coffee was fine and toilet was clean but overall this is the worst Costa I have experienced and I won't be rushing back.

Mi hermana y yo fuimos Congleton en agosto Semana de la fiesta. Nuestro favorito estaba cerrado, así que volví a visitar la cafetería Costa donde el servicio ha sido de los ángeles en el pasado.

The staff here go out of there way to make your visit enjoyable and always make sure you are well served

I can only say this Costa in Congleton, Cheshire is acceptable. There seems to be a relatively high turn over of staff. The outdoor seating area is always in shade, unlike the Italian cafe across from Costa. Prices, like all Costa's are a bit pricey....

Situated right in the centre of Congleton, this Costa is a great place to meet up. The staff are always very friendly and polite. Not much to say about the coffee, as it's a Costa!!

Tidied my own table while staff sat around chatting , seat and table had milk spillage, only 1 toilet available,...

Have visited Costa two or three times recently and on each occasion the sataff have been most pleasant polite and welcoming. Latte excellent and cakes very tasty. Prices typical of Costa, but you know that before you go there.

Friendly staff. Can get quite busy. Free wifi. Toilet and baby changing facilities. Great coffee, cakes etc.

Just a lovely Costa coffee to visit. Staff very helpful and it's a pleasure to have coffee there. Kids love it too

Fabulous attentive staff. Not exceptionally clean floors. Need to walk through the smoking area to the main entrance which isn't great, especially with friends. The prices are the same all over the UK for Costa Coffee but when it's over a £10 for 2 small coffees & 1 slice of cake, it's not exactly value for money. Directly opposite, is an Italian cafe. Again, a little pricey but oh what fabulous traditional italian cakes and snacks.

This is a pretty typical Costa Coffee. It does a reasonable imitation of a cortado largo, which costs about 5 times the price I pay for it in Spain, and the snacks are pretty awful. That makes it about ten times as good as its main competition in England, which ought to be famous for the awfulness of its big chain coffee bars.

Costa is my favourite coffee stop and the one in Congleton is excellent. The staff are always very pleasant and polite and helpful. They really km how to make a good cappuccino us a skinny latte.

As to be expected with all costas , very clean , staff friendly and polite and helpful , quick service and plenty of seating

drop in regularly for a coffee and maybe a quick bite to eat. The staff can't be faulted for friendliness and effort but it is noticeable of late that the little things that matter are lacking. General mess around the tables, lack of napkins, cups etc. is becoming too regular. It's clear the staff are told to be friendly and the other week a bit of a management time motion study seemed to be underway. Stop telling the staff to ask daft questions of the customers, the staff are great, dead friendly, just sort out the basics again! Not the staff fault but I travel a bit and such as Nero offer far better incentives, Costa points take an age.

A busy venue on the high street. Coffee excellent, however the pace is relaxed, but staff are very helpful and friendly

depending on how busy it is the service can be slow and the sitting area untidy.. however the staff are always very friendly and the drinks are (obviously) incredible!

Fine as Costa's go . Staff very friendly and working hard . Shame it is located at a walk through for toilets and Tesco staff to their meeting rooms

Every Sunday i get a hot chocolate from this particular costa and its lovely. Staff are very friendly and do a quick service.

Double espresso will not disappoint (that is, if you can handle a double espresso!) Good atmosphere, good FREE wifi, which you need since mobile coverage doesn't reach into this Costa.

Costa coffee always take ages that's a given as it's fresh coffee, but the Congleton branch take it to a new all time slow . Staff are to busy chatting to each other to serve customers , plates stacked high on tables and a general do I actually have to work attitude ! Shame as other cost as up and down country actually value customers ....

Strong smell of human excrement on entering premises, staff aware but said they had got used to it !

I visited this branch in mid October 2014 whilst shopping in the town, the initial service was pleasant but I was asked to take a seat whilst the coffee was being prepared. 10minutes passed and I still had not received my drink, 15minutes later a staff member approached and asked if I was waiting for a drink as they couldn't remember whose drink they had. The family member I was visiting with had a baby and required to use the baby changing facilities however there was a rather scruffy sign on the toilet door stating that the toilets were out of order and all guests were being asked to use the gents. All in all a poor branch of costa based on the many I have visited throughout the country.

Had a nice coffee and toast at Costas on Sunday. Nice to be able to sit out with our dogs. Coffee was good as usual - and the toast was nice - but took ages to come. The outside space needs to be expanded - only room for 2 tables which isnt really enough.

Good selection of coffees and snacks. The service is friendly, and it has an excellent location right in the centre of town.

This & the Costa Coffee in Tescos serve decent coffee & sandwiches. There are howver nicer independent cafes throughout town. The staff at both Costa Coffees in town are always friendly
