The best restaurants serving British food in London

I had a really disappointing experience at Daylesford in Pimlico. It was a sunny morning, and I was in a great mood—until I encountered some shockingly rude behavior from the staff. Honestly, I had to hold myself back from reacting more strongly. I went in and ordered two coffees and a couple of croissants at the entrance counter. I simply asked if I could sit just outside to enjoy them, and the response I got was unbelievably rude—basically a flat, dismissive “no.” I decided to go ahead with the order anyway, but then the staff member had the audacity to repeat, in an even more patronizing tone, “I told you that you can’t sit there to have your coffee and croissant.” Naturally, I responded to his attitude—how could I not? The whole thing was outrageous. I’ve never been spoken to like that at place that I have attended many times. Safe to say, I won’t be going back.

Excelentes entrantes: mini pudines de Yorkshire con rodajas de rosbif y deliciosos pasteles de cangrejo. Luego teníamos todo, desde el pastel de pescado y el pastel de pastor hasta una hamburguesa. Terminado con crumble de manzana y una mini bagatela excelente. El personal no podría haber sido mejor. Los platos principales tenían alrededor de 11 o 12 libras. Estamos todos aquí por tres meses y puedo ver que este lugar será un firme favorito.

Mi amigo y yo vinimos a tomar una copa y tal vez un almuerzo tardío para comer. Cuando la camarera se acercó al final para despejar nuestra mesa y preguntó cómo estaba todo yo estaba como "Meh! Donde estábamos sentados había vidrios rotos y servilletas sucias en el suelo desde el día anterior, así que obviamente no se limpió correctamente. Fui al baño para discapacitados y el piso estaba cubierto con orina y papel higiénico, de nuevo no limpiado desde el día anterior. Mi rosado llegó caliente, no frío y nadie me trajo mi cambio. Mi hamburguesa llegó caliente, no caliente y completamente sin sabor. Cuando fui a pagar la factura, el servicio se agregó automáticamente sin que me lo dijeran en la caja. He vivido en la localidad durante 40 años y quería que este fuera mi nuevo pub 'go to', pero basado en esta experiencia no voy a volver. Very nice, atmospheric restaurant in St Catherine's dock. multistorey, nice pub but in the 1st and 2nd floor you can have proper, nice food as well. there is also a small garden. Ideal location

I took my parents for some hot beverages and cake and was extremely impressed by the kind, thoughtful and prompt service shown by our waiter, Pravan, throughout our whole stay. He was thoroughly professional, helpful and friendly. The drinks and the cake were also lovely and the ambience was calm and enjoyable. Would recommend, and thank you again Pravan.

Excellent and professional service. Even tho the crumble had plums in it, the waitress ‘Dee’ was very helpful and offered alternative options.

Absolute rubbish, got a table no bother, then to be told no bread buns on the salad bar.Ordered our food, to be told they had ran out of ketchup!Came back to our table to say, no fish fingers for kids meal, said ok, we will order the pasta instead, to be told.....no pasta either!Promptly left and went to 5 guys!

We were staying for two nights in the adjacent Travelodge hotel. As is not a huge amount to do in the local area, we ended up popping into the Toby grill both nights just for drinks. The bar staff were all very friendly, and the drinks reasonably priced. Plenty of seating areas. The only negatives I really the people and the uncontrolled children that they bring with them. On both nights there are groups of families where the children were just allowed to run a mock throughout the whole place. I appreciate it was the weekend, but there are still other people that they should consider who are also trying to enjoy their time out. On both evenings the bar staff had to speak to parents to tell them that their children needed to be controlled as they were being a real nuisance and there were staff walking out with hot food from the kitchen and customers walking away from the bar with glasses of drinks. That said, it's not the stars problem. It's the people that have children that don't know how to control them. An idea would be for the management in the Toby grill to get clear notices saying that parents must control their children at all times. This would be for the benefit of general customers, staff and the children that are causing the problem. It's a shame that they create such havoc, because it was quite a nice bar other than that.

I am currently staying in Stratford with a friend and was introduced to Giraffe restaurant by her, the food was great and the service was even better. I would definitely go back here! I would recommend the Halloumi and falafel burger, delicious.

Me gusta comer en The Place to Eat. Ojalá hubiera más variedad, ya que solo pido dos de las comidas en el menú y he sentido la necesidad de algo más para variar. Estuve allí antes de Navidad y estaba muy contento con el servicio que recibí de una miembro mayor del personal llamada Wendy. Se esforzó por encontrarme una mesa libre y por traerme utensilios porque olvidé recoger luego sal y luego una cucharadita para mi té. Tuvimos una charla agradable, más tarde ella aclaró la mesa cuando terminé. Hace que una persona se sienta valorada como cliente. Gracias.

No roasties, flat yorkers, unappetising, small selection of veg. Was told roasties would be ready in 20 minutes. Had to eat without. Chaos. People walking out.

Wetherspoon tradicional, decente, acogedor y ocupado. Pedí pescado con papas fritas, la calidad estaba bien. Incluso tengo dos trozos de bacalao. El servicio fue rápido y discreto. Un OK en medio de la carretera cuchara.

Me quedé bien frío caminando por Kew Gardens y luego entré en el Orangery para tomar una taza de té y ver si había algún buen pastel. El lugar era totalmente caótico. Mi acompañante con discapacidad visual trató de encontrar un asistente para ayudar a conseguir lo que estábamos buscando. Con el tiempo lo conseguí. El personal, como había, parecía ajeno a nuestras quejas. Supongo que los han escuchado tan a menudo. Luego la larga cola con una bandeja pesada esperando para pagar. No otra vez. La próxima vez que visitemos los jardines, llevaremos un frasco de té y un paquete de galletas.

Llamamos para algo pequeño para comer después de caminar Portobello Rd y nos encontramos con un personal amable. Pedimos un pastel de cerdo del menú pequeño y nos decepcionó que se sirve frío. Encontré eso difícil de entender en un frío día de otoño en Londres
