Floripa in Hackney

Stayed in here for several drinks at the end of a Friday night. Security guy on the door was very friendly, even though we walked past the place earlier and didn't come in, he was joking with us when we came back. It was busy in side, lots of music, dancing on the stage, DJ playing. There was very little beer on offer, so just drank some shorts. Toilets located down steep stairs be careful heading down, especially after few drinks. Overall not a bad spot.

Last night, I found myself at this Latin-themed bar that felt like a fever dream I still can’t shake. You know those places where you just sit there wondering if you’ve accidentally wandered onto a set for the strangest reality show? That was this place, except it was very, very real. First off, let me tell you about the patrons. Bizarre doesn’t even begin to describe it. I saw a guy who casually pulled out a roll-on deodorant and licked it. Not just a little taste either—full-on licked it off his girlfriend’s armpit like it was a gourmet treat. And the girlfriend? Totally unfazed, like it was part of their regular Saturday night routine. If there’s a weirder way to bond, I’d like to not know it. Then, there was this old man, maybe in his 70s, who danced with all the energy of a newborn baby deer learning to walk. His legs were bending and wobbling in ways that seemed almost supernatural, and yet, he had the time of his life. I gotta give it to him, though—his enthusiasm was contagious. I almost wanted to join in, though I doubted I could replicate his… technique. Meanwhile, two girls were beefing hard over a dude who seemed completely oblivious to the drama unfolding around him. The guy was just chilling with his mojito, enjoying his night, while these two locked in a silent war of glares and whispered insults that cut through the music. Things were heating up when, out of nowhere, one of the girls stormed off—only to immediately take a tumble down the stairs. It wasn’t just a little stumble, either. She went full-on somersaulting down the steps, limbs flailing like she was trying out for a circus act. The whole bar gasped, but in true wild-night fashion, she popped up like nothing happened, shook it off, and went right back to glaring at her rival. Honestly, if that doesn’t scream dedication, I don’t know what does. And then there was the music. It was classic Latin dance vibes for most of the night, until the DJ dropped the most random track of all time: a baile funk remix of “Panda” by Desiigner. At first, I was thinking, “This is a crime against music,” but then it hit me—it actually slapped. The beat was unnecessary in the best possible way, and by the end of the night, everyone was losing it on the dance floor like it was the anthem they didn’t know they needed. All in all, it was one of the weirdest, yet oddly unforgettable nights I’ve had. If you’re into chaotic vibes, questionable life choices, and unexpectedly good remixes, this place is the spot. Just maybe leave your roll-on deodorant at home.

Rude staff, mid atmosphere but the DJ was really good

We pop in at 23.30 on Tuesday night for a corporate party, we were 20 people. Despite we were the only customers, literally no one else was in the club, the manager, a tall lady with curly hair, tread us as we were disturbing her peacefulness (she was to confy not to work). We ordered a couple of bottles of champagne and ask her if we could choose some songs to play. She replied that they didn’t pay for any djs and so no requests were welcome. We kept drinking our bottles and enjoy ourselves. I won’t ever recommended to come to this place! The security guy was so nice though.

Mistreated me and extremely bad atmosphere

First: no beer selection. Second and more importantly: really bad staff and no worries about safety measures. If someone suffered an accident incide if it, they don't care. For example: the main door is a glass door and has nothing to show when it is close (even with the safety rules says need to have something), so with their bad light this can easily be mistaken as with an open door and make someone hit on it. And when this happens, the only thing they say is: yeah, it were closed.

Went to an Afrobeats bottomless party there great party, place was a nice vibe but was very hot and stuffy but has a cute little outside area that gives you air and respite

All workers there were very rude and unfriendly. Drinks are very expensive for the poor quality you get. No reason to come back at all!!

Not the first time there I this time the disappointment was massive after we order 2 baby Guinness and came with £20 price tag. Ridiculous over priced and for a Friday night place was completely empty we got our shots and leave.

Drinks are wildly overpriced even for London. They have a 10-person at a time outdoor policy which I couldn’t possibly have known about. Security acted like I was trying to go behind the bar when all I’d done was try and enter the smoking area. Really unhelpful for people like myself who feel the need to step outside every now and then due to the crowd and music causing anxiety. Besides there is loads of space in the area and there was clearly no risk of overcrowding so I don’t know why this policy exists in the first place. Go here is you want to pay £20 a drink and be treated like a child. I’ll certainly never be back.

Had to pay £4 for the ‘rnb party’ on eventbrite only to arrive at the bar and see it was free entry. It was so empty and boring. Not recommend.

Attended the Party and Paint event. Chaotic and very poorly organised. Overcrowded, music too loud and drunk people pushing you around: all while fresh paint is in front of you. Rude and unhelpful staff. I was embarrassed to bring my friends and it really ruined a milestone celebration.

Kinda dead. Have tried it many times, has always been dead. Unnecessary £5 entry, and expensive mixers. Explains why it’s always so empty.

I went in and they just had beer, nothing else. Then I requested the bartender working in there for gluten free beer, in the end it was not gluten free and I had stomach issues afterwards. I find it very ignorant, insulting and disrespectful that you do not even know what you are offering. Saying sorry will not change anything as I already suffered and my stomach had bad reactions.

The lady manager needs some customer service training. They also need new security because it took 3 security guys to “escort” my partner who was trying to defend my sister whom got punched by another guy inside the venue! I had to tell my boyfriend to leave because security begged me to get him out. As the security were too weak to handle one guy??? Once outside the manager decides to side with the abusers and doesn’t help the situation. We have since reported the incident to the police and I hope your establishment will corporate to help find my sisters abuser which you did nothing about :) Never coming back here!! We spent over £200 in the bar and the drinks prices are ridiculous! This place is sooooo dry, go elsewhere if you want to have fun and not robbed.

I bought a ticket for an event and got all the way there to be told it didn’t start at the time advertised and that I wouldn’t be allowed in unless I brought a friend, which is beyond unreasonable as there was no mention of this policy. I have sent a lot of emails but not heard anything back about a refund.

Three of us went here on Saturday it was £10 each to get in and 3 drinks cost a total £47.50 which should have come with a price warning!! . Drank our drinks and got the hell out of there as I wasn't spending another penny!

The service was good and the staff was very helpful. Drinks vary from £6 to £20 depending what you are having.

Nostalgic bangers and high energy songs - not the fanciest but mid week if you’re w a few good people and tequila you can have a good time. Easy crowd, easy to meet people even if not very full on a Wednesday (but where is?) Nice bartenders too

Been there first time and it was nice although we went 12am,I didn’t expect the music to be soo good,they were playing Bollywood bangers and some mix music. I would recommend and bring my friends next time.

We were there in the early evening . There were few people in but the music was deafening. OK for later but you could not hear yourself speak.

Some of the worst bars in London. £5 entry fee and £16 for a house beer and wine, the wine was worst than a £4 wine you get from tesco. Then very shady people with questionable behaviours...

Food is not actually from their place they all come in take away and delivered to their restaurant so you are not served in dishes but drinks are good.

We went there one night where they had “free drink vouchers” the bartender was deliberately confusing and lied about what the free drink would get so that we would order more drinks. He then acted so rude and condescending, acting like we were being stupid for not understanding him. Rude, awful place. Do not come here they will only try to scam you out or paying extra money!

There seemed to be a siege mentality, the door staff seemed very on edge and hostile and we didn't want to ruin our night so we left. We went to The Hoxton around the corner instead which was really lovely, great cocktails, friendly and relaxed.

Ended our night here and had a really good time. The music was good, the atmosphere inside was buzzing right from we arrived until we left. Drinks are a little pricey. Only minus was the door staff. Overall not bad.

Manager Greta was horrible to me and my wife. We had our anniversary drinks there and she refused to give us the table we booked months in advance because Greta's friends wanted it instead. She was rude to us and didn't even take the complaint in person. Disappointing experience. This place is not worth it.

Thursday, 7am. Music is reaaaaaly loud. It's impossible to have a conversation inside the bar. And quite difficulty to have a conversation outside.

Great bar for a nice, groovy evening. Had a great time dancing and meeting new people. Great DJ mudic on a Friday night, good but strong drinks selection. Totally recommend it while in London if you want a fun dancing night!

The drinks are very sugary. Came here for a Sip & Paint party, which was nice but the drinks and venue itself wasn’t fantastic.

Had a great fishbowl cocktail here, good amount of alcohol and could easily be enough for 4/5 ...I shared it with my boyfriend (no comment on how the night ended). They also have an outside grilled food place (perfect to soak up the alcohol). I really enjoyed the food, everything is reasonably priced. Not a fan of the music but it's a good place to start your night.

Great place to see samba when Paraíso School of Samba take over. Haven't been there on a normal night.

Security as dumb as the place. Why were me and my friends poorly dressed but casual work clothes treated us badly and prevented us from entering! It's a pity, they've lost several customers besides me now! don't waste your time going there!

Asked to enter the bar as one of our party has bladder issues. He politely asked if he could enter to use their bathroom saying that as a pensioner it can be required at random unexpected times. This was explained to the female member of staff on the door who rudely responded as if we didn’t exist. This medical fact was then mentioned again and the woman rudely ignored us. The security guard approached who politely said that the toilets were for customers only and pointed us in the right direction. This was exactly the manor that we expected and required.

Great party on a Saturday night. Played popular songs, Bollywood, rap, etc. tough energetic crowd was enjoying the night. Staff was courteous and let us keep our luggage carry on with us.

HORRIBLE PLACE The bouncers didn’t let us in for my birthday. They also said they were closing at 12 and the website said 3 AM. No refunds were given and we bought 20 tickets.

Went here quickly before XoYo. All seemed fine. The music was a reasonable level so we could talk. Friendly security and bar staff.

Charged £25 for entry. Was dead inside. Then when to the cloakroom so I could leave my jacket. Came to a total of £9. Paid with a £20 note. Staff then didn’t give me my change and claimed he didn’t remember me. I then reported it to his manger. She checked the till and said that there wasn’t an extra £11 in the till. I then suggested it’s because the member of staff had pocketed it. Manger then refused to take matters further and ignored me.

Ended a good night out here with a group of people and was decent fun with decent music (not sure about the DJ though), however there was some noticeably odd clientele and a double (they don't do singles) basic JD and coke was £13.50 if you can believe it!

Good drinks. Lovely bar. Quick service. Basic entry charge of 5quid. Staff were all good and friendly. 4 stars because the DJ couldn't hold a song for 30 seconds and played random genres.

Didn’t want to give ANY stars but had no option! This poxy so called club has NO consideration for its residents, they constantly leave both front doors open for the loud music to constantly play out across all areas to the opposite side of the road, i.e to the flats (tower block and the lower flats to the side of the tower block) across from the club on Old street! They also have these ‘theme’ nights that ALWAYS attract trouble with people fighting etc at the end of closing time! To say we’re SICK to death with this unorganised so called club would be an understatement! We’re (as residents) are seeking legal action with their council with the way this club is breaching the law!

If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. Had the most horrific experience, there was only 4 of us in there, considering we were the only people in there spending money you’d think the staff would be a bit more polite!! Anna or Anuel not sure who the manager was but she was absolutely VILE
