Baxter's Court in Hackney

Extremely disappointing experience. Waited 45 minutes for a wrap and pizza, both of which arrived stone cold. Drinks never showed up. I went to the bar to ask, only to be told they were “made downstairs.” While I was still waiting for a response, the staff member started taking someone else’s order instead—completely ignoring me. Service was chaotic, staff seemed uninterested, and management clearly had no grip on the situation. Not a great representation of the Wetherspoons brand at all

Only reason service is a five is because the bar staff guy i got chatting too ,robert, was really funny and gave great customer service

Nice Wetherspoons in lively part of London, tables and floor were clean and decent selection of ales at the time. Had a nice pint of gold and the fish and chips. Was served by Robert; really nice guy, service was fantastic and had a good chat with the guy. Excellent stuff, will be back!

5 stars and more if possible for Robert, he was so kind and helpful! He was so patient while me and my partner was deciding what to get, great conversation and quick service. Will definitely visit again!

I was having a bad evening and Caleb absolutely made my week. Absolutely lovely, as all the staff are here. We're regulars at this spoons and it's all-round great. Cheap, decent food and a good crowd.

Went here with a couple of friends on vacation and everything was great. Place has a lot of space and a nice outdoor / patio section as well. Big praise for our server Michael who made sure we were all having a good time.

Went to Baxters Court this evening, staff are very helpful and friendly, service was good, ordered the scampi on it's own (plus drinks ) very good as usual 😄. And where else can you get a Large Tanqueray and tonic plus a Large glass of Rose for under £9.00 😲, normally that's the cost of an average glass of wine ! Thanks and well done to Robert and the team 👏👏👏.

Had such a pleasant experience here. This lovely lady, I guess her name is Paula, she provided me and my partner with amazing service, she helped us choose some good food and most importantly, her lovely attitude was the best. You need more people like her 🫶🏻

Thank you to young Caleb, for the extra attentive table service. He should be working at the Ivy! Considering I'm not into the CEO and his nonsense anti Brexit BS, this is the only Wetherspoon's I've visited since Brexit. At least the staff are ok and the menu is vast and cheap.

Very bad … They Refused to serve me because I had a dog.. Dogs are not allowed which is okay But… Why I couldn’t Even drink my beer Outside? It doesn’t make sense at all!!!

By far the worst steak I've ever had the pleasure of. Tuesday is steak night with the allocated menu provided for this "event". The steaks are the same as the menu just a tiny bit cheaper and for £11.50 I got a grisly chewy, medium rare piece of crop and a handful of chips....no additional accoutrements. Very disappointed, sort your steaks out JDW

Had to wait ages for food was not hot. To be fair it was very busy but very under staffed. Waited ages for bar staff to take the order and were not very accomodating. Will not be frequenting again

Great service best spot for drinks

Typical Weatherspoons style drink, food and ambience. Based on my two visits here this is not one of the best for food. Food slow to come out and some foods are hot while others not so. Staff in general are pleasant but one lady bringing food out from kitchen cursing profanities which could be heard in salon. Will use it again for a drink, but food - no thanks. Dark and dingy too. Aprile 2025 visit: food came out dry, stale and room temperature. I would not advise to eat at this Spoons one.

Food does what it says on the tin. You know what you are getting at a Wetherspoon. Service awful, we ordered on app and they delivered drinks on tray, can see we are eating, squeeze drinks on table and walk away with an empty try, not taking away our empty glasses, even when we asked them. We had to put them on the table behind us ourselves.

Went here 2xs throughout the week and I bumped into a staff member called Nikita 10/10 service, she had bright red hair and a smile to pick you up! She was efficient, fast service, and was serving more than one of us at once but she had us all talking and socialising I had to come back! If she wasn’t there, I wouldn’t come back the girl needs a promotion you need more down to earth staff life this

Can't beat a Wetherspoons!! Breakfast is unbeatable and top up tea and coffee. Drinks are cheap and decent. Best places to go 👌

I usually love this spoons ( I have been here twice) However i ordered the maple cured bacon with cheddar cheese tis time and although very simple, it was also very cold somehow and took very long… very interesting…

Food old fashioned pub kinda feel to it. Locals, passersby. A great place for a good deal-a fab visual input. Very Hackney and all I like about it!

Sad to say one of my fav chains let me down big time. From having 2 male staff members not protect nor defend a female customer from an active sexual harassment. It’s sad to say this is the last time I will frequent. And hope they train their staff better on customer service and care.

Its a nice pub with lots of space, food and drinks are very reasonable. Staff are friendly too. The pub is in a good location as there is a bus stop outside.

Never seen such a miserable bunch of either lazy or untrained staff in my life, when you drop a pre ordered drink at a table you would expect them to access the table and maybe take the empties. Noooo that requires effort and effort here doesn't exist. Toilet cubicles are a discrace aswell .

Served by a lovely gent called Orlando, drinks came out within 2 minutes of order very impressed!

The ale selection is not good. Sometimes, the ale is off, yet it’s still being sold. Other times, the ale selection is too high in alcohol by volume (ABV) or it’s not balanced.

I'm sorry please check your cameras from 12 onwards your security staff were on phones and neither looking at the ba r if anything happened they wouldn't know disappointed one one way one the other hope you can resolve this before an accident happens

This is a "middle of the road" and typical Wetherspoons. Good range of beers on tap, very reasonably priced. Quite a large space for sitting including a separate bar upstairs and more seating. Atmosphere is what you expect - a good place to meet for a beer or coffee.

Takes forever for to get an order and then it's wrong

So we were here in a group and ordered drinks and food. A friend of ours got asked for ID and didn’t have a physical card, so she agreed to leave. Up until then, they were rude about every question we asked and everything we ordered. Then the pincher didn’t come with any glasses, so I asked for a glass and tap water. The guy responded with “Go get it yourself, mate.” I went and didn’t find it, so I asked him again, which visibly annoyed him. Then, an employee came to tell us that we had to leave the Wetherspoons. They couldn’t explain to us why and were really rude about it. The literally weirdest and least transparent experience I’ve had in my wonderfully short life.

Prices are great for London, drinks are super cheap. Quality of food is ok, nothing special.

We did have good, but looking at what others had looked okay. Great service staff were friendly and attentive Drinks were reasonably priced. Good place for drinks and a chat. Will definitely go again when back in London.

Waited for 15 mins to be saved. When I eventually got served, I asked why other customers who came.behind me had been served first and the bar attendant who had filled w out 3 drinks decided not to seeve me. When I asked to speak to the manager, he also refused to serve me without even listening to me. Went in 3 days later with colleagues and was.refised service. Appalling to be honest

Edit** September 2024– Most of the staff seem like they’re unhappy to be here, the portions of food have shrunk a lot, hygiene is rock bottom had to clean our table myself before sitting which also had a KFC bag under it & when my eldest food came on the big appetite plate it was dusty af sent it back new food came out on same plate that clearly just got wiped over with a cloth as it still had some dust on it but my eldest was so hungry I told her eat where the dust isn’t With it now being like this no surprise the place seems dead most of the time don’t think I’ll be coming back to this branch again until it fixes up

The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. But I really feel for them as the place itself is depressing, souless and gloomy, full of alcoholic old lushes from opening, some of who like the sound of their own voice. There's more atmosphere on the moon. it's not a place to spend more than an hour in. Still, good for usual wetherspoons grub at superb prices.

40 min wait and Breakfast never arrived. Was not even busy and 3 bar staff had nothing to do. Had to leave as had train to catch

I enjoyed my stay in this historic spoons. Great location near a train station, cinema, museum and a Burberry Outlet store. I had a very good ale with no fuss to try before I bought. There's two floors with a first floor terrace. Would definitely go back.

We ordered for a family dinner and my nan ordered a bowl of chips and my brother ordered a rice bowl and all the other meals came out first with chips on them but my nan had to wait 50 minutes for a bowl of chips and when we asked the server what’s happening she just brushed off the complaint and said it’s coming and when we asked the second member of staff how long it would be and she refused to apologise and was very argumentative and belittling and when we asked to see the manager he took 30 minutes to appear and the only thing he offered to rectify the situation was another bowl of chips

Newer than other Wetherspoon that I have visited. Nice decor and quite clean as well. Food arrived soon after order and services are good.

Went there for my dinner on Sunday 18 August 24. Very few people in the place. All the tables were dirty and had not been cleaned off. There was delph and glasses, on almost every table, and the customers, that had occupied those tables had gone. Eventually I found one clean table. The service was slow. The food was good, but not hot enough. I was very disappointed with the place, Run down in my opinion, to a very low level. I have been there before on a good few occasions, and it was much much better. I would sooner go to a nearby cafe in future.
