There were board games, sports, a large range of nice drinks, and lots of seating, as well as outdoor seating with heaters. C'est magnifique ! Me and the husband had a terrific trip! We were visiting London from our home in Paris and have to say the food and the service was above and beyond! Thank you to Liv for being incredibly diligent and patient about my caeoliac need, she couldn't have been more understanding. The food came quickly, the atmosphere was enchanting! The food just melted into the mouth and was truly sublime. Zoe served us as well and made charming and funny conversation. They were professional and competent as well as at ease and hospitable, she deserves a raise!!!

Great service and amazing hash browns/Sunday roast

Tons of atmosphere, very loud and so lovely to see lots of families gathered. Lovely meal but would have loved a pot of gravy - apparently we should have asked, d’oh! Will be back,

The food is okay, you need to often wait a longer time and this time for example half of the portion was cold. I wish they would do something with the dining room sound. It gets so loud and echoey, would need some muffling elements. Staff is very nice!

This is such a lovely pub with a great atmosphere, friendly competent staff, and food to write home about. I've been for a drink a few times and always had a wonderful time but only had a meal for the first here recently. There were a number of options for my date who is gluten free and vegan so we shared a few plates and they were all ridiculously delicious, the cauliflower was my personal fave. The pub is also dog friendly and there are even water bowls and treats you can help yourself to, such a thoughtful touch.

This is my favourite pub. As a queer person in London it's rare to find somewhere so mainstream yet so inclusive. Their food is delicious and their staff are honest, genuine & kind.

Really disappointing. We have had many great Sunday lunches at the Inn on the Park over the past years but sadly things have gone way downhill. Today we had to order food at the bar instead of having waiter service. The bar was busy so it took a good 20 mins to get our order in. Then we waited an hour for three roast lunches which, when they finally arrived at the table, were completely cold. When we pointed this out, one waitress touched a Yorkshire pudding and claimed it was still warm, before agreeing that the cabbage was stone cold and taking the plates back to the kitchen. After ‘nuking’ with the microwave our lunches were hot although the Yorkshire puddings were as dry as rocks. All this and payment is made up front at the bar when you order so no way to express need for improvement. We do not recommend this place until they get their service act back together.

Good pub on the corner of the park - plenty of beers on offer.

I’ve only been to this pub a couple of times and it always has a great atmosphere. The staff are lovely and welcoming, had great customer service from Emily this Sunday! Definitely recommend for a Sunday roast and walk in the park afterwards.

My goodness, all I have to say is DO NOT order food from here. I’m easily pleased with food.. I came here as a group of 4. I ordered triple cooked two portions of chips and two portions of chicken wings and others ordered other items on the menu. The chips were uncooked, I let the server know and she took both chips and said I’ll be back.. she literally disappeared and never returned with new chips. About 30mins later I saw her and she said I’m sorry that the chips felt undercooked, but they were cooked and it seems if we make you new ones, the next will be undercooked to you too.. I mean what the hell? That would have been ok, yet they charged us for them! The chicken wings were inedible. They were foul. Totally disappointed with the food and service. The chips were taken away, however I was basically forced to pay for them. No problem, I will just never return. My friends ordered lots of other food, we all left food, it was either literally inedible, undercooked, overcooked or really horrible in taste..

We pre-booked a large group table for a 40th birthday and upon arrival were told they had completely run out of the veggie/vegan option, had run out of the sides and also the mulled cider. We had called twice in advance to check there would be options for veggies as the girl who’s birthday it was is a veggie and she couldn’t even eat a proper dinner on her special day. The veggies in our group were offered a bland plate of vegetables and potatoes. Our group ended up being split with those who could eat and those who couldn’t so we had to leave early to get food elsewhere. Terrible service and planning from the pub / staff. The food we did have was average at best. Wrote a complaint email and got fobbed off with some rubbish excuse about food waste and that we didn’t state exactly how many veggies there would be at the start. Bearing in mind we booked in advance and called twice beforehand to ask about veggie options this is is irrelevant as we were never asked for a pre-order nor did any of the staff suggest this or warn us they may run out. Overall, would not recommend, there are hundreds of excellent pubs in London - this is not one of them.

A lovely relaxed old-fashioned pub with great food and good service also has a nice one fire in the winter to boot

So was poured a poor Guinness and got attitude from a women with long curly hair who reckoned she didn’t have to exchange the drunk Evan though we said it wasn’t right . Shame Boxing Day and her attitude made us ( big group) move on to another pub ,

Staff brilliant, good wine and nice overall vibe. However, really bland Sunday roast, don't think the chefs are familiar with seasoning. Beef was also overcooked.

We had Sunday roast today and unfortunately it was not one of their best ones. The red cabbage tasted a bit like wine and the roast was average. I do hope they look into it and that it was just a bad day.

Please give us a break from blowing those bloody leaves outside your pub at 9am on Sunday..............ffs!!!

One of the best pubs in Hackney! We went to the quiz for the first time on Thursday and it was loads of fun. Would highly reccomend!

Excellent food options, great staff, in really good location. Great for families during the day time.

We rented the upstairs room for a joint stag and hen party for about 30 people, it was absolutely fabulous. Plenty of room for a barn dance, easy to connect to a speaker for music when the performers weren’t doing their thing, private bar and toilet. Buffet food was so good, a really pleasant surprise, and lots of great veggie and gluten free options. Everyone was super relaxed about us sticking things on the walls and making the room our own. They work on a very reasonable minimum spend system, we appreciated that there was no upfront hire cost. When one of our party injured themselves having too much fun she was treated with compassion and care. Staff were just so enthusiastic and kind but also let us do our thing. I looked at A LOT of pub rooms before the event and I am delighted we went for the Royal Inn on the Park. Thank you so much folks! The bride and groom loved it!

Amazing sunday roast, best pub in east london

Hired out the upstairs space for an event— we had the BEST time! The space was huge, great atmosphere, great service, super helpful staff, we love this pub!

In London visiting. Found this place welcoming. The service was so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. Tapas style menu. Well cooked, really tasty. We enjoyed it so much we went again on a subsequent visit. Highly recommended!!! Well done!

Spacious pub with a big outdoor seating space in a nice area. Unfortunately it is let down by the overpriced food and poor customer service. There are far better pubs in the area.

Was enjoyable until we found a cooked fly in the roast. Manager said that it couldn't have been from the kitchen, until they saw it had been cooked and was crispy. Good luck to anyone who eats there!

Please ignore the wine list, they will serve you whatever cheap wine they have on the back. I was given an entirely different wine from what I paid for. Management was extremely rude and I didn't even get to see an actual bottle of wine. I will not return to this pub.

This place used to be absolutely top tier. Unfortunately, it has since come under new management and fallen off. The beers have become more expensive and often worse/less local. The food is less “pub food” and had become over priced unlikeable sharing food. (Chicken wings, things, roast potatoes and other bits were poor). Flat bread was nice but tiny for 14 quid. (Management changed last year). It will never fail due to the location, but what a fall from grace.

Attended a wedding reception, couldn't fault it. Food was amazing and the service was first class.

What a great find as we were making our way to the London stadium for the MLB baseball. The beergarden was superb, full of atmosphere and the service was pretty good, considering how packed it was. Definitely return when in the area. Lovely pub

We had our staff AGM at the Royal Inn and had the most fantastic experience. The staff can not help you enough the bbq food was delicious. The space is lovely with the bifold doors that go the garden. We'd love to come back next year, thank you!

Viky/victoria was amazing today, she was fast/ in charge and paid attention to all the tables. Her colleague on the other hand needs a PROPER TRAINIG as she didn’t know how to open a bottle of wine 🤷🏻‍♂️

One of my favourite places in London! Family orientated pub with a great local community feel. Love it. Didn't have any nosh this time, but have enjoyed the traditional Sunday lunch in the past.

Arrived at 3pm on a Sunday for a roast, only to be told they had already ran out of roasts completely, because 'it was busier than expected' (you were fully booked yet somehow it was unexpected all these people showed up??). We were presented with the sharing snack menu instead, which is a selection of various mediocre attempts at Turkish food. To add insult to injury, they seated us in a quiet and empty side room, away from the atmosphere of the main areas. Extremely underwhelming experience, and quite poor value for money as well. Doubly disappointing as I had visitors for the weekend, all keen to try their very first proper Sunday roast...

The Royal Inn on the Park is a local institution, and manages to balance looking after its regulars - who eat and drink there year round including the darkest coldest days of winter - with catering well for the huge crowds of visitors to the fabulous adjoining Victoria Park on the long, hot days of the summer. It has a wide range of beers and spirits, and the (relatively new) management have revamped the menu so that there is plenty of choice for all palates. There’s lots of space outside and in, and the only occasional problem is that its sheer popularity sometimes means it can take a while to get served on busy busy days - no matter how hard the friendly staff work. As someone who lives round the corner and has been coming here for over 20 years, I can recommend The Royal as a proper pub that welcomes everyone.

This is a lovely pub but much better on a quieter day. We came on a day that was way too busy. But the food in here is decent, the surroundings are lovely as you're in the park itself. It's dog friendly. But beware because of the crowds, it is a queue at the bar system, no table service. Which is fine, but just be aware of this before coming. I have been coming here for over 20 years and have seen the changes in this area and this pub. But I will always visit when I'm in the area as for me it's a part of my Eastend history.

Great location with a lovely outdoor space. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious, though a bit too salty for my taste. I came to do remote work, but with few plugs and no WiFi, it’s not ideal for that. However, it’s perfect for time with family or friends!

Decent food but I was a bit underwhelmed by the half head of broccoli, despite the tasty sauce. I asked the bar staff if the kids sausage was delicious or not and... It turned out to be a bog standard chip chop type sausage. Still, the kid in question loved it

Had an amazing function here for a birthday party. Room was a lovely space, and staff were all so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious as well! Couldn't have asked for better. Manager is very chill and relatable

Having shared a poor review previously, the owners discussed my concerns & dealt with it marvellously. They appear to have extended the menu & the quality of the food is back to its best. This pub will be absolutely packed once the weather picks up. There's benches out the front & dining space out back with an inside/ outside area that can be adapted depending on the weather. A great place to stop in you area in Victoria Park.

The pub has good service and atmosphere (hence, 3 stars) However the food was terrible and an absolute rip-off. Had the vegetarian "wellington": which was just potatoes and half a mushroom, £18.95 I do not recommend this pub for food

Had a lovely sunday roast with my parents and partner on Easter Sunday! Not only was the selection of roasts great AND they hadn't run out of any of the options but the staff were really lovely and attentive, especially our main server Ellie. The pub also had a great array of drinks, meaning we could try out a good range of beers, the guest sour being a personal favourite. Keen to come back to try out the normal daily menu as well!

The food here is quite great for a pub. This the second time I came around on a Sunday for Short ribs and the cooking and the spicy relish was to die for. Phoebe was amazing as our server .

Didn't have any fullers beer despite a sign in the window, served a beer on tap, then ran out on a Saturday afternoon, was then given a bottled beer asked for a glass and was given a filthy glass, asked for a replacement no apology , young bar man no customer service just looked at you.

I’d never been one for pub quizzes but last night I was shown how fun they can be and met some lovely people (customers and staff!) a bit of fun for everyone and there’s jazz on upstairs too! Looking forward to being back next Wednesday 😁

My first time and greeted well, like a long lost cousin. I was actually treated that way too so apologies I should've left a tip. Only a few pints but I'll be back for sure.

Went to the pub to try the food and the quiz as I’d heard about the new management. The food was honestly delicious, you can tell that a lot of hard work went into achieving those dishes and it pays off. If this is what the chefs can do when they stop making pub classics then I hope I never see another burger or fish and chips again. The quiz was good fun, a light hearted, funny and chaotic experience that was loved by our whole team.

Great pub in a great location with good beers and nice food. Unfortunately however they have taken their brilliant, long-running, proper pub quiz on a Thursday night (which we did every week without fail) and replaced it with an awful, trashy, new version - and moved it to Wednesdays to boot. Won't be returning for the quiz any more - it's a bag of tripe now.

Roast dinner was not great. One thin slice of beef. Roast potatoes that were dry. One staff member was miserable as sin. The other young lady was lovely. Great location. Not worth the money for a Roast.

Great option if you have celiac. Ordered a burger with a GF bun and the staff came out to confirm they use a shared fryer and ask if I needed my food prepared without cross contamination. Highly recommend!
