Fabulous pub just on the edge of Victoria Park. Lovely range of beers and interesting and eclectic menu beyond normal pub grub. Great staff too - highly recommend.

Had a lovely sunday roast with my parents and partner on Easter Sunday! Not only was the selection of roasts great AND they hadn't run out of any of the options but the staff were really lovely and attentive, especially our main server Ellie. The pub also had a great array of drinks, meaning we could try out a good range of beers, the guest sour being a personal favourite. Keen to come back to try out the normal daily menu as well!

The food here is quite great for a pub. This the second time I came around on a Sunday for Short ribs and the cooking and the spicy relish was to die for. Phoebe was amazing as our server .

Didn't have any fullers beer despite a sign in the window, served a beer on tap, then ran out on a Saturday afternoon, was then given a bottled beer asked for a glass and was given a filthy glass, asked for a replacement no apology , young bar man no customer service just looked at you.

I’d never been one for pub quizzes but last night I was shown how fun they can be and met some lovely people (customers and staff!) a bit of fun for everyone and there’s jazz on upstairs too! Looking forward to being back next Wednesday 😁

My first time and greeted well, like a long lost cousin. I was actually treated that way too so apologies I should've left a tip. Only a few pints but I'll be back for sure.

Went to the pub to try the food and the quiz as I’d heard about the new management. The food was honestly delicious, you can tell that a lot of hard work went into achieving those dishes and it pays off. If this is what the chefs can do when they stop making pub classics then I hope I never see another burger or fish and chips again. The quiz was good fun, a light hearted, funny and chaotic experience that was loved by our whole team.

Decent pub but such a shame they’ve changed the quiz. It used to be great fun and the “new look quiz” is a shocking step down. I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea it’s almost laughable. Started nearly an hour late, the pub have started keeping way more of the pub quiz takings and making the winnings pot smaller and it’s not even general knowledge anymore. I’m not sure what’s happening at this pub recently but apart from the new food it seems to be going down the pan. BRING BACK THE OLD QUIZ!

Great pub in a great location with good beers and nice food. Unfortunately however they have taken their brilliant, long-running, proper pub quiz on a Thursday night (which we did every week without fail) and replaced it with an awful, trashy, new version - and moved it to Wednesdays to boot. Won't be returning for the quiz any more - it's a bag of tripe now.

Roast dinner was not great. One thin slice of beef. Roast potatoes that were dry. One staff member was miserable as sin. The other young lady was lovely. Great location. Not worth the money for a Roast.

Great option if you have celiac. Ordered a burger with a GF bun and the staff came out to confirm they use a shared fryer and ask if I needed my food prepared without cross contamination. Highly recommend!

This is a great pub to take you dog into. The garden is completely enclosed and they sell dog treats at the bar! Super cosy in winter and breezy in the summer! I’ve never had the food but their back room has so much potential and looks like it is under used. (The space screams German beer hall/ renovation inline with the vibe of the front)

I recently tried the Sunday Roast at the Royal Inn on the Park, and it was a delightful experience. The roast was perfectly cooked, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Would have liked more potatoes and unfortunately they run out of cauliflower cheese. Apart from that, the service from Joe was exceptional, making it a great choice for a relaxing Sunday meal. Highly recommend!

I came for a solo roast and Joe was so kind and accommodating! Moving me out of a drafty table by the door and to a really cosy spot in front of the fire! He really did make my entire visit and ill definitely be back - thanks again!

This was the first time we have been here as we always go past it so we decided to book a Sunday roast. That was the biggest mistake we ever made, the chicken was dry, the potatoes tasted like it was a day old, dry and tough. One of my family had the beef which was also tough and they didnt give us enough gravy to go with it. They had forgotten two items from our order and said she would take it off the bill?! Why would we even try and pay for it if we did not receive it?! The manager was rude and not helpful at all. The chef even looked at our table and gave us the most dirtiest look and refused to take some of the items off the bill - how can someone serve such appalling food to customers?! Families come to your pub everyday, at least give edible food to children! Coming from someone in the hospitality industry, i definitely would not recommend this pub food at all! I can definitely serve better than this. DO NOT EAT HERE! I hear Hemmingway’s food is MUCH better! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PUB! Their food and staff seems like it has gone downhill.

I never have a Sunday roast much but the quality of food in this establishment was appalling. Chicken was dry and salty, not enough gravy given so everything was dry and potatoes was bland. I would not recommend this to anyone expecting at least a good quality Sunday roast.

Food was incredible! Especially the aubergine and halloumi!

A huge pub with a lot of seating and outside area, set in beautiful Victoria park. I stopped by for a roast on Sunday as I was walking through and it was lovely, I also ordered an aubergine schnitzel as I thought it was quite unique. Absolutely delicious! All of the staff were really friendly and welcoming which is always nice when you’re going somewhere alone. Lots of dog walkers coming in so is definitely pet friendly, and great if you’re a dog lover like me!

Not sure what’s happened to this pub? We visited today. Myself, partner, 95 year old Aunt and 9 year old Daughter. - Waited one hour for our food, no mention from any staff that there was a long wait for food. - No vegetarian choice for kids meal, except for Nut toast. How many kids eat nuts? A Mac & Cheese, C & T pizza would have gone down well rather than just two choices- roast or sausage & chips - My roast wasn’t hot had to be returned -No lamb sauce, bread sauce or horseradish sauce? Which was supposed to come with our toasts. Had to ask twice for them. - Roast potatoes not crispy - Lamb all fatty - Chicken dry - Asked for a cheeseboard for our Daughter as that was the only vegetarian option she could eat. We specified plain cheese and crackers. Twice it arrived with blue cheese, brie and charcoal crackers. We returned that too. We will not be returning anytime soon. Please stay clear if you have children.

Prime location so should get lots of passing trade as well as bookings…. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon to find it half empty. We had booked a table, grabbed some menus and ordered at the bar. We ordered garden peas instead of mushy peas with one of the orders of fish and chips…. Later we watched the food being dished up on the pass and noticed they had put mushy peas on and clearly someone said something as the man behind the counter huffed and grabbed the food with his bare hands and moved it over to another plate with garden peas. Meals were good portion sizes and nice. In two minds if we would go back or try somewhere else.

This pub has ample of space to sit down. There is a marquee area to cover the place facing Victoria Park. Food came out very fast. Literally 10 minutes wait! Although the meat was over cooked, some of the sides were alright. It is a decent place to have Sunday roast in this area.

Sadly one of the absolute worse experiences of Sunday Roast! The team was unfortunately not helpful at all regarding my food allergy, so bad that I had to point out what from the dish should’ve been taken out (severe milk protein allergy, so I have requested no cauliflower cheese and no Yorkshire pudding, but for the server that was not necessary/just looked at me confused as genuinely did not know what contained dairy in the dish!?) but beside me requesting no Yorkshire pudding, my dish had it anyway on the top! I did not felt safe eating my food and I’ve eaten only the meat and half roast potato that was honestly the worse I’ve ever had, felt like was cooked yesterday and microwaved!!! The food also took a ridiculous short time from ordering to receiving it at the table, less than 10minutes, makes me wonder if they had them ready on the pass waiting for people to order?!? Definitely won’t be back

Overpriced food £20 for a unpleasant Sunday dinner. Unsympathetic and rude staff. It's not even worth a penny spent.

This place have got so much potential, however because of poor management is lacking. Advise, invest in kitchen staff so your kitchen is not staying closed till 5pm during weekend.

Went to the royal Inn on the park, what can I say, staff efficient, friendly and accommodating, we ordered our drinks a few mins after putting our bums on the seat s we all had the same cod, chips and the accompliments to go with,3 of us, the meal was tasty, nice surroundings, you could eat inside the pub or ear fresco either outside park side or area adjacent the pavement main road, very large inside space, so yeh all in all, I can't remember exactly but I think the menu was rather limited, but I'm sure if the other dishes onthe menu are as tasty as my fish and chips 🍟 you won't complain price maybe a tinge high but so is everything else

Waited for someone to serve me for what seemed like an age. Staff did their best to avoid eye contact. They were helpful when I asked where the toilets were, which had a damp, sodden wet floor.

We went here on Mother's Day so it was busy but the service was efficient. There are various options for sunday roast, including a veggie option, and we were all happy with the choice. Lots of starters and desserts if wanted. The roast was huge and even though we have big appetites, we weren't able to clear our plates. So good value for money. A nice wine list and not overly pried. There is some seating under a large canopy too. A really good old pub.

The pub have changed their policy and families no longer welcome after 5. Shame as pub used to be at heart of community and now trying to be something different. Let’s see how long it lasts.

I'm not a regular drinker, Mr brother has made it his watering hole, and his has a lot of friends , it's nice for me to go with him and enjoy meeting different people. It's a great pub.

We stopped here on the spur on the moment on a quiet lunchtime, we took a table overlooking the park. The food was excellent, we shared a cheese platter with home made chutney, I chatted with the chef about his lockdown project - chutney, as a fellow chutney maker I can say it was great. What we loved was a sausage roll that was delicious. All made on the premises, accompanied by home made brown sauce. Excellent

Brilliant staff. Quick service. One of the best burgers I ever had. Chips/French fries were alright (acceptable). Establishment is large and spacious. Full of customers who were in their early twenties. Felt like a student Union bar. I will visit again for the burgers.

Went for Sunday Roast. Starters, no app everything at tables, not the end of the world but waiter seemed unsure of beers. Asked for a veggie and chicken roast, came back 2 minutes later asking what we had asked for - come on bro! Roast came, doesn’t every roast have roast vegetables? Eg carrots/parsnips etc - weird, but oh well. Veggie roast was a Wellington - literally 4 mouth fulls?! So small, especially when it’s £14.50, others at nearby pubs are 2/3 times the size. Plus both roasts had a lack of gravy and asking for extra seemed an inconvenience (saw most other orders being asked for extra). Would have mentioned these little issues but no one asked how our meals were during or after other than would we like our plates cleared. Frequently frequent several pubs around Victoria Park/Bow and the service is far superior in these. Lovely venue, awful service/value for money.

Not a great experience for me. We were seated outside in groups of 6, however could see a group of 8 all sitting together, we were told we could not sit as a group of 7 - when we explained our frustrations because we could see a group of 8 we were told - 'they've been here all day'. I'm not sure how that makes a difference. When that group then moved on we were told we could use that table too, however it was not cleaned before we sat down. They also got our order wrong and brought us the wrong beers. They also gave us warning that the kitchen was closing, allowed us time to fill in our order sheet, took our order sheet and our food never arrived. When I questioned this, their response was 'our kitchen is now closed, don't worry you won't be charged for it'. So if I hadn't have asked we would have just been waiting for our food all night as no one was planning on telling us.. Also, why give us time to fill in our order and then not process it? Unfortunately, I won't be returning here.

Food is overpriced - food is not very good compared to other gastro pubs in this area. eg. Burger is average for the whooping price. The chips are very average. My friend had a potato salad and the potatoes were undercooked. Also the service is quite poor - not attentive - not clearing tables - generally unprofessional. The conservatory area has loud school canteen feel - doesn't feel like a cosy pub. Although, this place is fine for a drink in the old pub side. It's useful for its location - hence why it feels like they've made minimum effort. I've been here many times, this is a reasonable review.
