We visited The Black Lion several years ago before it fell on hard times. We were thrilled to see the place had re-opened and we have now been back 3 or 4 times, but our patience is now spent. Just to say that the restaurant ambience, food & service were really very good. This is a 'pub with rooms' that we all want to appreciate. The concept is good and is being well executed by the current owners. But...... The bar experience was/is, horrendous. This is exclusively as a consequence of the behaviour of a small group of clientele who seem to base themselves at the end of the bar and who appear to be incapable of uttering more than two words without the use of a profanity. The Black Lion is a hotel and a restaurant pitching itself as a respectable mid market establishment. Its parent is the well regarded Carpenters Arms in Wighton. It must therefore manage and protect its customer experience in line with its own expectations and indeed, its own reputation. Nobody has any objection to people having a good time and I am not suggesting that these folks behaved in a threatening or intimidating manner, but there is a line between having a good time and offensive behaviour. Little Walsingham is not a rock & roll village. Its residents are primarily families, the aged and the religious, its tourism likewise. Therefore, if we are looking to socialise and relax, in mixed company, having to endure such a torrent of coarse language is unacceptable.and it really is constant. No let up. The 'F' word is simply normal and loud language. Quite incredibly the 'C' word makes frequent appearances. Until such time as the owners put an end to such behaviour, frankly it's not worth having to run the gauntlet of discomfort to spend time & money in a place that appears to hold such little respect for its other guests. And that is a real shame because the Black Lion really should be the village pub that every village wants.

It was a very damp and showery morning and we werenāt sure if the restaurant was even open! But we tried the door and it was . The lady on the bar asked the kitchen if they were still serving breakfast (it was only 10.10am) and they were. We sat down and there was a very damp smell in the room. Which was a little off putting but We ordered full English and Vegan breakfast, both with coffee. The coffee were served piping Hot which was lovely as usually they go cold before breakfast is served. But breakfast came and coffee was still hot!. Breakfast was also really hot and delicious, good local produce and served with a smile. Deffo come back again! Serves lunches and coffee and cake too so worth drying at different times of the day.

Have popped in occasionally and had the most delicious pie and gravy. Was in the area Saturday and thought a lovely pie and gravy will go down a treat on such a cold day. Saturday luch time, no pies on the menu, just a very basic baguette, omlette, baked potato menu, really disappointed. Should have guessed, very sparse of dinners. Ordered the egg baguette, to be told a minute later 'we can't get hold of any eggs'. So all the omlettes were unavailable too. I've just been to a farmers market down the road that's full of eggs and pies! Cheese baguette ok, very cheap colesaw on side( sorry being really picky now). It has changed hands and don't believe the menu online, we won't be going back.

Site was ok for a pitch up site. Very noisy near and close to the road, ok for one night I suppose if your stuck. The Green Man pub very basic and not like the pictures are showing on Trip Advisor. Not the most scenic site in Norfolk. Will not return .

We are quite regular visitors to the goat. We have lunch with some friends every six weeks or so. Can't recommend the place highly enough. Ambience, food, staff all excellent. Its what a country club should be. Special thanks to lovely Chantelle for always making us feel so welcome . She's a star.

ALERT! Do NOT take your children here. Seriously. Read on:: Be extremely careful before even thinking about going to the place or even booking: Please look at their website carefully, look at the photos posted and read their A4 page carefully on their terms and conditions. The cancellation policy is ridiculous - if need to cancel it be £15 per person and you have to leave ALL your card details INCLUDING the 3 digit security code on the back of your card - outrageous and not sure sure if that's legal? They have not updated their Privacy Policy since 2018 even though we were told they had. SO if you enjoy eating out and paying over the odds for an expensive meal whilst surrounded by graphic S&M pornographic pictures and cartoon type prints of women vomiting into toilets or sitting on them, then this is the place𤮠Talking of toilets- into voyuerism? Then this is also the place - one can't even go to the ladies without being overlooked. Lastly be very careful when the bill comes as you will be charged a huge Service charge. Not such a nice place.

Family Sunday lunch with 12 people. Food was excellent with a wide variety and beautiful setting. However, service could have been warmer. Our party was two larger than anticipated and this received a frosty reception. Towards the end of the meal we were reminded slightly coolly that they need the table back at 2pm.

Excellent pub. Good food which exceeded our expectations. Great service from the lady behind the bar. Let us order despite us cutting it fine near cut off time just before 2PM and even allowed us to add desert. Warm and welcoming with roaring log fire. Ideal if you are visiting Hickling Broad nature reserve at the end of the road. We look forward to going back in the future.

The carvery and the week lunch time menu was amazing. We had a carvery on Sunday which was all fresh meat, potatoes and vegetables- all of it was delicious š we then had sandwiches and chips at lunch time on Monday before we travelled home and it was one of the best lunches weāve had in Mundesley where we visit every year!

Some of the staff obviously do not enjoy their job in the restaurant, I appreciate its busy on a Thursday due to Market day but come on please just smile!

Very average coffee. The staff where nice enough, but it seems strange that a place will have "bean" in the title, yet use the cheapest, basic tasting coffee beans?
