Have popped in occasionally and had the most delicious pie and gravy. Was in the area Saturday and thought a lovely pie and gravy will go down a treat on such a cold day. Saturday luch time, no pies on the menu, just a very basic baguette, omlette, baked potato menu, really disappointed. Should have guessed, very sparse of dinners. Ordered the egg baguette, to be told a minute later 'we can't get hold of any eggs'. So all the omlettes were unavailable too. I've just been to a farmers market down the road that's full of eggs and pies! Cheese baguette ok, very cheap colesaw on side( sorry being really picky now). It has changed hands and don't believe the menu online, we won't be going back.

Site was ok for a pitch up site. Very noisy near and close to the road, ok for one night I suppose if your stuck. The Green Man pub very basic and not like the pictures are showing on Trip Advisor. Not the most scenic site in Norfolk. Will not return .

Fine dining menu, fine dining prices, fine dining portions, pub grub quality. We visited for lunch having seen their on line menu confirmed by the same menu at the door. But we were offered just three main course choices. The food was bland and very overpriced. The fish of the day ( at “ market price” ) was a red mullet barely visible with the naked eye. Decent service but we were virtually the only people there . I’m not surprised. Far better options nearby. Best avoid.

Very average coffee. The staff where nice enough, but it seems strange that a place will have "bean" in the title, yet use the cheapest, basic tasting coffee beans?

Absolutely love this place from the beautiful ,peaceful setting to the wonderful food and hospitality. We were lucky enough to spend a two night break here staying in the Ellis room , the room was perfect and spacious and had stunning views of the deer park and was lovely and cosy aswell as pet friendly, the little dog bed and treats in the room was a lovely added touch. We only dined in the restaurant on valentines evening however the setting was perfect not too noisey and our dog was welcomed at the table aswell. The food was spot on the pork chop was the best ive ever had!.Breakfast in the morning was a nice selection of fruit juices, fruit, cereals and yogurts alongside cooked options from the kitchen we opted for a cooked english breakfast and salmon and scrambled eggs which were delicious. We got to see so many deer as they often come quite close to the pub especially early hours of the morning such a lovely place hope to return again one day soon. Amazing stay Thank you!

After looking on the website I decided to treat my fiancé to a night away. The room I wanted wasn’t available but booked another one. I have to say the room was large and comply, with the addition of fresh milk on offer if you wish to have it. The restaurant was very busy but guessing it was due to the special offer of a Sunday stay., Chloe and Elenor were brilliant under the pressure, well done girls. Christian was on the breakfast shift he was very charming and very attentive. So overall a pleasant stay.

Don’t understand the ‘mixed reviews’ Tonight was typical of every takeaway we’ve ever had (and that’s hundreds over 15yrs) - batter on the cod was light and tasty - chips were perfect - chicken bites succulent . Always a big debate in Wells who does the best F&C - for us it’s Platten’s.

We have been to the Pigs many times when visiting family locally but our last two meals have been poor and we won’t be back. Drinks took 30 minutes after sitting down. The mains took over an hour and a quarter to arrive after ordering. There didn’t appear to be anyone in charge, lots of young staff seemed busy but no supervision for waiting customers or checking on orders and food to tables. 2 out of the 4 mains (the salmon and the pork t-bone) had clearly been cooked quicker than the others and were dry and tasteless after being kept under heat lamps. I’m not a great cook but even my wife said I can do better.

Lovely but disappointing. Just home from an overnight stay and really disappointed .This was a well looked forward to treat. On arrival we were shown to our room which was really nice . A few minutes later a knock at the door to say sorry furor to yell you we have a problem with the gas so no heating and a reduced menu. This would have been nice to know prior to arrival . Small heater in room but coukd not leVe it in all night as was too hot but 10 minutes after turning off room was freezing. Bathroom no heating and really cold to cold to use shower. What would have been nice was an apology and maybe offer of a,mulled wine or hot drink etc. Nothing . Was really played down no real explanation just that's, the way it is . The menu was small however we ordered the burger and chips at £18 what arrived was huge plate mostly empty with a burger and handleful of frozen French fries. I would have expected maybe handcut chips and a little garnish, tomato salad etc nothing. The plate looked ridiculous. The burger was lovely the skinny French fries oily and tasteless . The burger and the toast that i had (instead of brioche bun) was cold . We also had a diet coke each. The bill was over £48. How?? £12 for 2 cokes ?surely not . The room was lovely but either freezing cold or blow air heater hot . So sleep was not restful . Breakfast. Choice looked lovely but again the breakfast room was so cold i mentioned this to the gentleman who served us he just smiled and agreed .again played down or brushed off. The breakfast was cold poached eggs .no one likes cold poached eggs. . Plates were stone cold as well. I understand things happen and there was obviously an issue with heating but cold food and cold rooms is not acceptable in a hotel.no offer of more blankers . No apologies nothing. So sadly as much as I loved the actual hotel their response (or indeed total lack of one) has completely put me off . I paid for a room and food and both were very disappointing.
