we had been recommended this restaurant, so was looking forward to it. sorry but very disappointed had a toasted turkey sandwich and chips with gravy, the turkey was a piece of very chewy cardboard (couldnt call it meat). the sandwich itself was very dry. when the young lady collected my plate she asked if all was well i said no it was dry she said there was gravy to dip it in. never dipped a sandwich in gravy before. not very helpful, shant be going again

Sadly food was awful. Took our father in law for his 60th and the food was very poor. Steak pie was like rubber, pizzas smothered in cheese like rubber as cold when served. The sea bass was served with what I can only describe as a potato hockey puck. As a table of ten we had to preorder and they brought the courses out one after the other with no time in between. Luckily it was so bad it was laughable so we had fun. Just was waiting for basil fawlty to walk in.

Unfortunately today this cafe was poor. Lack of staff and food availability hindered the whole experience. Lots of people just turning away due to que and lack of service. Coffee was just about warm. Had a bacon sandwich which came out on white bread and sent back as granary was asked for. 1 slice of overcooked bacon in the sandwich. So poor. Normally this is a place of good nature that I go to 5-6 times a year. Poor today.

Be if a sunny but cold February or a sweltering summer, the hotel is perfect with its modern touches to the olde worlde charms. The restaurant staff are polite, informed and attentive without the overbearing ‘is everything alright?’ intrusion. We have had very good meals, but also the occasional hiccup with the food falling a little short. During our last visit the fish pie lacked the essential ingredient of fish and as the waiter noted on clearing the table, that looks ‘crispy’ around the edge as indeed it was. This wonderful location, and smart restaurant does itself a dis service by serving Cod and chips not on a simple plate but adding a piece of grease proof paper(?) al la fish and chips shop style. My pet hate is a plate of food served in mini pots with the expectation that one assembles the food themselves. This time was no exception, peas, tartar sauce, chips all came in little pots and the fish on the aforementioned grease paper. I simply don’t understand why such a good restaurant would want to compete with the local chippy or indeed invite comparison. Put the food on the plate and left the chef and ingredients do the talking.

Really let down, placed an order of fish chips pie and sausage Waited for it to be cooked Took it back home no more than a 2 minute drive to find the chips to be cold, crunchy and mainly scraps The cod was very underwhelming can only compare a regular cod to the same as two fish fingers. Sausage cooked to death The saving grace was the pie but overall a real let down sorry

Fantastic sea-view room, on the 4th floor, with view of the pier and floral gardens. Very good food. All in all, great value. Cheerful staff and good service.

This village pub is a hidden gem. A proper village pub vibe, with a gorgeous pub garden, it’s absolutely worth visiting if you are in the Sheringham or Cromer area. They offer a selection of good real ales (3 on draft) and excellent pub grub. At lunchtime we went for the ‘small plates’ version of the main meals but it’s all you need, the portion sizes are excellent value. If you get the chance, check it out you won’t be disappointed.

Visited on a Sunday evening, friendly welcome with a nice atmosphere in the pub. Starters were okay, makerel pate and whitebait, nothing fancy just standard pub food. We had the roasts for mains, my husband enjoyed the lamb, and I had beef. Good size portions, but my beef was very thick and tough and chewy. They kindly offered thinner slices, but I'd had enough to eat by then. Fresh tasty veg, potatoes okay but tasted reheated, overall I thought it was expensive for the quality.
