Drove past having had a look at the seals at Horsey Gap but decided to turn round. The car park was busy, which is usually a good sign. So it proved. Two full English breakfasts, which were delicious and featured good quality ingredients. Bought some pastries for the 4 hour journey home, and they proved to be delicious too. An excellent café and a very lucky find.

Very disappointed as was looking forward to my fish & chip supper, as have enjoyed in the past.. Firstly I queried the price of the cod as charged more than was shown on price listed..got back to my weekend accommodation, on opening the lid instead of the generous golden batter, in front of me was obvious a dark twice cooked batter with chips to match, I rescued what chips I could but ended up throwing most of it away. This was not a cheap meal £12 will have second thoughts about going back. Sooo disappointed

There were three of us that stopped by for a light lunch after a walk along the coastal path from West Runton to Sheringham. We had a dog and he was welcomed into this pub. There was a good range of items on the menu and the dishes we chose were nicely presented and tasty. The service was efficient. The only thing that could have been improved was that it was a little cold in the room in which we sat.

Popped into here after a very long car trip to have a drink and use the restroom. Since my first priority was relieving myself, I headed straight to the restroom where I was blocked by an elderly staff lady, who basically told me in other words, to get lost, and use the public toilet down the road. I'm not sure if she knew I was a patron, and planning to order drinks and food, but neither did she bother to ask. It was an incredibly rude and presumptuous way to conduct herself. I can't believe this establishment doesn't train their staff better than this.

Sunday lunch as a group of 12 children/ adults. Let’s start with the positives. We were obviously an unusually large group and pre-orders / table reservations and deposits system worked well. Oh Pat. We did book but 24 hours ahead but the was no reason to put the veg on that long before. Gammon was tasty, lamb and pork edible but my god, avoid the beef at all costs. The decomposing seals at Horsey had more meat on the bones and we’ve just bulk bought toothpicks from Amazon prime to help us remove what little we could eat from our teeth. When we were asked about condiments we refrained from asking for cornflour to thicken the seawater masquerading as gravy. We paid in full, probably shouldn’t have, but we understand how hard it is for small businesses. Thanks

The food is okay, we had a roast, no choice of meat, only beef. The beef was quite dry, the veg a bit cold. The potatoes and Yorkshire were good and the portion size was very fair. Atmosphere was okay. Service from the young lady serving us was good, however the bar man was quite brash and seemed like he was in a hurry to get us done and out the way. Overall it was okay.

We found a big hair ball in our bathtub, which was utterly disgusting. The room itself was noisy and dirty. every step in the room was accompanied by the squeaking of the loose flooring.Outside and inside of the hotel looks old and dilapidated. The website and other bookings agencies give a complete wrong image of this hotel

Really nice restaurant attached to the pub. Friendly helpful staff, unable to find somewhere to eat in north walsham ,I called Cross keys a table was reserved. I highly recommend this pub the Sunday carvery is one on the best I've had , lovely on a cold February night. Food really good served piping hot. Highly recommend Crosskeys, I noticed they were once 'Four in a bed'winners ,I can see why. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Great rustic country pub. I stayed for two nights and had breakfast and dinner. The food was excellent and a nice ambience with a roaring wood fire. The room was clean and comfortable though not great if you wanted to work as no desk. My room and I guess all of the rooms are an unusual shape due to the thickness of the walls. There was a view of the shrine out of the window. My only negative comment is that the plumbing is "unusual". There is obviously some fancy plumbing going on behind the scenes to make the en suites fit into the old building - and for about thirty seconds after you flush the loo it makes a loud grinding noise which is pretty startling if you are not expecting it! That said the shower and hot water are fine. Surprisingly good free internet access. Great breakfasts.
