Over priced! £11.95 for toasted sandwich that came with small side salad, small pot shop bought coleslaw and handful chips. Had bacon and brie filling with so much cranberry it tasted more like jam sandwich. With a coffee each bill came to £33. Most costly lunch I've had for ages. Won't be rushing back.

We hadn't been here for a while, we used to go regularly, but the restaurant closed for a time and we hadn't been back since it reopened as 'Noahs'. Tried it today for lunch and certainly enjoyed the whole experience. The restaurant has been redecorated and is looking good. The food was absolutely delicious, - the skin-on chips were perfect, - crispy and tasty, we had mozzarella and tomato toasties with plenty of filling, and salad with a lovely dressing. Good service and friendly staff. We will definitely be going back regularly.

Never again. Meat was ok. But no mash or new potatoes. Small amount of veg between 2 people. And £2.75 for a can of drink is an absolute rip off. So back to the KA at Ludham yesterday. Same price for a carvery. 3 different sorts of potatoes. Every veg you can think of. And drinks much cheaper.

This fab place is under new management with fresh new decor and a new menu. Highly recommended. I’ve been for coffee and homemade cakes, and for Sunday roast (huge Yorkshire puddings and a lovely post of flowers for the mums on Mothers Day). The food is delicious cooked by Sri Lankan chef Lucky. His curries are authentic and to die for! He’s also owner of Amma’s Kitchen street food venue which has a huge following. Book your table as it’s busy and popular. Great friendly staff. Children welcome. Dogs welcome in the conservatory. Scones and sausage rolls home made by the chef fresh every day. Wines and beers available as the restaurant is licensed.

What an absolutely vile lunch!! We had an hour to spare as our car was in for a valet, also at Grovelands. The young man who served us was pleasant, and efficient, but please employ a REAL chef!! Fish n chips plus two coffees —£ 25.50p.Chips were the “come on”—hand cut —mmm ,we thought. Hidden by the fish, they were soggy, burnt, and limp like old celery. The fish was wet and slimy ,hidden in a nasty coat of undercooked batter.Absolutely no point in complaining to the “lad”,the owner must know her food is under par,and over priced—it is called avarice!!This “unit” lets the butchers, the greengrocer, the garden centre, and even the car wash down. But they are all run by professionals!! We willNEVER eat there again, hopefully the owner will franchise it out, then we might.Really disgusting and disappointing experience.I have only just read previous reviews, clearly we are not alone in our unfortunate experience. I note no one ever replies to the bad reviews—it says much.

I hadn't been to Groveland for a few years and I was really shocked by how much the restaurant has deteriorated since I was last here. I met a friend for lunch and expected it to be as busy and thriving as I remembered, actually it made me sad to see how quiet and sadly-lacking it has become. I actually felt embarrassed that I had suggested meeting here! We tried to order soup for lunch but they didn't have any. We then tried to order 2 paninis but they only had one left. What a way to run a business - disastrous. We shall not be returning.

I’ve visited Grovelands on a number of occasions; yes it’s a bit expensive but the food has always been good, especially the pot roast beef. It’s in a lovely building in a great (but underused) setting and I love visiting the garden centre and farm shop. I even bought a painting of Cromer Pier which was for sale and is now taking pride of place over my fire place. My only gripe (like a previous review) is the manager; her staff do a great job and always check that we have everything we need so it’s off-putting for her to come and ask the same thing one minute later, you can see it visibly puts them on edge - trust your staff, they know what they’re doing, in face they’re doing a better job than yourself!Apart from that - keep up the good work

Have lived in Cromer for 11 years, been past Groveland many times but never stopped. So on Tuesday, along with my sister, we did. She had fish and chips and I had the slow-roasted belly of pork. Their pork is sourced from a free range farm in Blythburgh, near Southwold and I can honestly say I don't remember tasting belly pork quite like it. Magnificent. Served with gravy over a bed of creamy mash with nicely cooked red cabbage which works really well. Apple sauce took some locating but we got there. There were two generous twists of crackling sitting on top of the pork to set the whole thing off and it really was delicious. Maybe a tad expensive at £12.95 but eating out is not cheap anywhere these days and the quality justified the slightly high price tag. (Belly pork is, after all, about the cheapest cut available). But only a minor gripe. My sister enjoyed her fish and chips and then we pottered round and spent some money in the farm shop next door. A really enjoyable lunchtime visit.

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime in the hope of enjoying a light lunch. It was not overly busy and we easily located a table. The environment, is perhaps in need of a more updated, eye catching appearance. On perusing the menu we were soon put off by the cost, sandwiches, jackets all in the region of £7.95, we looked at some more reviews and decided we would go elsewhere. We did however opt for a hot drink (coffee and tea were fine) and shared a piece of cake at £3 it wasn’t great, had synthetic cream. Such a great setting, this place is certainly not what it was years ago and could be heaving on a weekend if improved and more reasonably priced. In addition the farm shop/deli was lacking in appeal, it looked old and dull a real contrast to what it once was. We don’t expect we will return for some time.

I asked for no mustard or salad but was served with garnish and mustard anyway. They took the food back but I overheard them talking about the 'incident' to the other staff which made things feel awkward and uncomfortable. The most shocking thing however was the price! I visited today with 2 friends and 4 children. We arrived around 1pm and there were only tables of 4 or 2 available. There were 2 members of staff behind the counter, so I asked the girl in a uniform if I could move 2 tables together for us, and she agreed. However, as I was moving the tables, the other member of staff, I assume a manager as not in uniform, very loudly announced to the other customer she was serving “move the tables if you like” in a very sarcastic voice and very unprofessional. I very quickly advised her that I had already spoken to her colleague and 10mins or so later as we were ordering, she did apologise. Had the children not been over hungry, I would have left on the spot and I certainly won’t be returning. The food is certainly not as good, we ordered jacket potato with cheese & sent it back because there was hardly any cheese, a BLT sandwich was served with bread, one slice was a crust & stale...it's a large open space & gets chilly. Someone needs to review things. I think management must have changed & it is noticeable.

I thought on the back of the doors in the disabled loo or the ladies there would at least be a changing mat but there wasn't. I therefore had to change my baby on my portable changing mat on the bench. I think just simply hanging a padded mat on the back of one of the doors would solve this issue

This light and airy restaurant looked inviting until I read a chalk board that tells me when I can have items from the menu. This may just be a thing of mine but don't put things on a menu then tell me it's too early or too late to have it , Anyway today it was no problem it was 1.30 and we wanted beef sandwich and chips and jacket potatoe with prawns, sauce and salad. Only two cooked items chips and jacket potatoe neither was properly cooked my jacket was burnt on one side but inside the potatoe was still over firm not fluffy once crunched with a fork and mixed with milk and butter it was just edible. The beef sandwich on brown was ok but too much bread the crusts could have been cut off and would have added to the presentation less would have been more this is what my wife did to eat the very thick sandwich. Her portion of chips served in a small bowl for £2.50 was underwhelming although proper not frozen chips the dozen at 20p each were barely browned inside the potatoe was too firm a good chip for us needs to be soft and fluffy in the centre and crisp and well coloured on the outside. The salad garnish with each dish was fresh but mine had a thick dressing with seeds in I had not asked for and did not want. Overall a disappointing meal over priced and under delivered service was good but slow roughly 30 minutes from ordering to receiving the plates in a restaurant with only a few tables of diners a pity as it gave no excuse for the cooking being hurried and unfinished. We will not be going back any time soon.

We spotted that the butcher was advertising local Venison so called in to stock up with fresh local produce. There were numerous food and produce outlets offering a complete range. The shops also stocked fishing tackle and country sports items and clothing all very enterprising. Very friendly and efficient sales staff. We sampled the restaurant for a brunch, having packed all of our camping equipment away for our return journey home. Great variety and friendly caring service all reasonably priced.

I visited here a couple of months ago after a dismal time some two years ago. I was amazed at how delicious the food was but still very disappointed about the shabby appearance of the restaurant. The forthcoming Jazz Night is something we would love to take a large group too, we have a special celebration that weekend, but alas the ambiance would not be good enough. My tip? Keep the chef but employ someone good with interior design to revamp the place . . .

I visit with a friend almost every Sunday and we always enjoy our food. When it's too warm to leave the dogs in the car we can sit outside with them. Best Sausage Sandwich in the area and a brilliant full breakfast too.

We have eaten here several times over about 18 months, with friends and family and everyone has been pleased. The pot roast is absolutely superb, as are the breakfasts. One friend thought he would go somewhere cheaper, but we twisted his arm and he said it was worth every penny - he wouldn't consider anywhere else now!Our Daughter says the paninis are great too!

We had a very enjoyable Sunday carvery here - a choice of three meats and a good range of vegetables, boiled or roasted. We were pleased to notice that the vegetables were contained in dishes which were replenished with freshly cooked food as needed. The choice of meat (beef, gammon, turkey) was nicely cooked and served on hot plates. The deserts are more-ish, and house wines are perfectly adequate. A good quality meal at a fair price with pleasant service. It's worth booking in advance for Sunday lunch

Having had a lovely drive around North Norfolk this Sunday. We found Groveland Farms Centre....not far from Cromer. Having looked round the Shop, we then decided to have lunch in the Resturant....Sunday Carvery...good selection to choose from. Our Roast Salmon was cooked to order, so we had a little wait, but when it arrived we then selected vegetables from the counter.....very wide selection to choose from. ( there were other meats to choose from.)Some took the opportunity to eat outside in this summery weather.I found the staff very attentive, and the 'facilities' excellent, especially the Disabled Toilet. ( Easy access for the Disable person to,shop/Garden Centre and Shop as well as the Resturant. We shall definitely visit again.

Waited & waited to be served and waited even longer for a ploughman's and panini. Cafe looked run down, not enough staff and food poor. £25 and 1hr 20 mins could have been better spent elsewhere!

First visit for mid morning snack and sadly won't go again. Sticky tables, grubby laminated menu cards and just one napkin between two of us.If I go somewhere for coffee and a snack and it's good I return for a meal but there was nothing to tempt me back. I noticed even a sandwich and chips was £8.95 and that is very expensive. The coffee was average and the scone was OK but came with almost frozen butter. It all looked a bit tired and shabby to me.

We have eaten here for lunch several times always thoroughly enjoying the food but never had the Sunday roast. We was surprised at how busy it was but we managed to find a table. What impressed me the most was that they don't put great troughs of limp veg out but small dishes cooking it in batches. They manage to do this by having the wait staff come and tell you when the chef is ready for you. What an excellent way to do a carvery. The meat was beautifully cooked although I wish they could do the beef a little rarer. The accompaniments were lovely including roasted carrots and parsnips. Lovely crisp roast potatoes and lots of fresh veg.Would definitely recommend this place, the staff are always so nice and the food is always lovely.

My husband and I just had dinner at this restaurant with our one year old and was very disappointed with the baby facilities. We went in and had to ask for a high hair and the first one had a broken clip, so tried another-same issue. We then went to get our pushchair out of the car, when we saw another family with a high chair they weren't using and we asked if we could use it, they said that's fine. So only 1 out of the 3 high chairs was in working order. It wasn't as if he could just sit in it, they were the type you had to harness your child in. So after sorting one, we ordered our food. After a 40 minute wait, we eventually got our average food, the restaurant wasn't even half full. So not sure why there was such a long wait. We then waited for cutlery, by now our 1 year old was starting to get a bit agitated. We ate then had to change our baby, I went to the toilets and then into the disabled toilets to find no baby changing facilities. I asked the waitress if there was anywhere, she then called the manager. 10 minutes later the manager appeared (in which this time my husband was changing our child on a hard floor in the disabled toliet as he was irritable. The manager said they had a table but a clip had broke and she had a mat but was too big and she was cleaning it at home. I got a feeling this wasn't going to be rectify in the future, as she can easily have a pull out table in the large toilet. I told her this isn't very helpful now as he is being changed on a hard floor. There was no apology from the manager and she disappeared into the kitchen. I thought the manager's response was unacceptable and she has now lost our custom. I wouldn't advise going here with young children.

My parents wanted to come here for lunch, which made my heart sink. I remember being very depressed by the ambience and the food when I made my last visit about 3 years ago. This time it was a much better experience. The restaurant has the same décor and furniture, but the waiting staff were so much better. We ordered the Big Sandwich (beef) which comes with chips and a side dish of gravy and costs 8.95, two jacket potatoes and a panini. Everything was delicious. The best jacket potato I have tasted in a long time, perfectly cooked and topped with a generous portion of tuna. The accompanying salad had a good range of leaves, tomatoes and cucumber and a very nice dressing. The Big Sandwich consisted of a double layer of beef in very nice bread. It was too much for my stepfather and we took half of it home for a very happy dog. Very generous amount of meat. Everyone was very happy with their food and the service was brilliant.

We've eaten at this restaurant on several occasions over the past few years. Always a pleasure with Sunday carvery a special treat. Everything freshly cooked and you have the choice of an alternative cooked by the chef, if you don't fancy carvery. So we were delighted to find our family had chosen Groveland to celebrate a big family birthday. 32 of us with ages ranging from 80 to 2 years old enjoyed a variety of roast Sunday lunch ... pork ( complete with amazing crackling) roast beef ( I had that and it was melt in the mouth!) turkey or ham. Piping hot yorkshires, stuffing and I have no idea how the chef presents such an array of veg, of such high quality, plus roast potatoes crisp and crunchy! Attentive staff made sure we were topped up with drinks and after we'd eaten dessert, they wheeled in an AMAZING chocolate birthday cake beautifully inscribed and with candles flickering. Magic! Meena and staff, THANK YOU for providing the prefect venue for several generations to meet, greet and eat so pleasurably. We'll be back soon - though not in such high numbers for a while!

You don't expect a Farm Shop to provide such a good Sunday carvery - good food and, whilst it is a carvery, we were particularly impressed by being invited up to get the food rather than having to queue. We will be returning

We have eaten at Groveland countless times over the last year (including a Christmas family meal in 2013), in fact it has become our favourite for a Sunday lunch with the kids. The food is home-cooking at it's best.....tasty, fresh (I'm bewildered at previous comments about frozen veg?!?) and delicious. The service is always welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. This really is a hidden gem in North Norfolk! On our first visit for lunch over a year ago we were seated near to John Hurt and his wife, now if it's good enough for them....(!)

I have been several times to this restaurant, and it has never disappointed. Just back having a really good home cooked roast dinner, with good service and a friendly atmosphere. I am so lucky that it is only a couple of miles from home. Whenever anyone visits me unexpectedly,I know that I can always take them for a meal at Grovelands, and know that it will be enjoyed by everyone. I am astonished by some of the other reviews, and find it hard to believe from the comments, that the writers of them were eating at the same place as me

Twelve of us had the three course Sunday carvery for a family member's special birthday. The staff were friendly, the food tasted good, the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately, 36 hours later the ten of us who had a starter were very, very poorly and it's taken over a week for us to recover...

I have read other comments on trip advisor and I am truly astonished. Having eaten at the Grove MANY times most recently last Saturday lunch when they were VERY busy and we did have a long wait (we were missed) both had a sandwich on the best granary bread - fat chips and honey salad dressing.. SCRUMPY! This restaurant NEVER sells frozen veg or instant mash - the team are small and they strive to give a good service, quality and quantity. People forget you can have a apple crumble custard (all home made) with a coffee bang in the middle of lunch service or a tea and scone... no minimum charge - That is very unusual and that is why sometimes there are delays, passing cups of tea and scone hold up lunches. NO dogs allowed - now that's BIG disappointment - and the only negative I can think of. Themed evening meals are fantastic - Groveland is a best kept secret - and you know I like that ;-)

Down in Worstead on wee business trip, asked about possibility of lunch nearby and were directed to the White Lady. It was around 14:30 on a Sunday afternoon so expectations weren't too high (would have settled for a sandwich...). Friendly welcome, assured food would be no problem and we're given 3 menus! We're invited to sit anywhere we chose so opted for window seat in dining area to rear. We both opted for Sunday roast topside. Absolutely fantastic. Beef cooked to perfection, awesome roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud, came with glazed chantenay carrots, buttered green beans and zingy red cabbage, jug of lush gravy and topped of with dish of unctuous Cauliflower and cheese (each by the way). Thinking about making the 3 hour drive again just to have that experience again.

Stayed for one night, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, clean , light and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of freshly cooked food, cereals, pastries and fruit. Will definitely return and would certainly recommend staying here

Sadly the food didn’t match the lovely welcoming service. Sunday lunch was expensive - £20 for a trio of roasts. The veg was odd - leeks and carrot with some very hard brocolli. Overcooked roast potatoes and parsnips. Potential to be a nice Sunday lunch but needs a fair bit of work. £20 is a lot for a toast but this place really cannot justify the price, sorry 😔

We came in for Lunch today and want to start off by saying that the location is idyllic, the food is delicious and most of the staff are wonderful. However, our meal was completely bulldozed by one member of staff (don’t know her name, elderly, black hair, heavy makeup). Not only would she not leave us alone for the duration of our meal which was very off putting, she proceeded to try to force feed me mushy peas using a dirty spoon off of the floor. At the end of our meal we were sitting and enjoying our drinks when she then took them from our table, we were considering getting coffees but felt very pressured to leave after such disastrous service. We are honestly embarrassed for you at No 1, that kind of behaviour was not very becoming at all…. What would have been the perfect meal out ended up being a complete nightmare.
