The Robin Hood Tavern in North Norfolk

The food is okay, we had a roast, no choice of meat, only beef. The beef was quite dry, the veg a bit cold. The potatoes and Yorkshire were good and the portion size was very fair. Atmosphere was okay. Service from the young lady serving us was good, however the bar man was quite brash and seemed like he was in a hurry to get us done and out the way. Overall it was okay.

Delicious food, lovely weather and good pint! All of these make for a grand afternoon in Sheringham. The hunters chicken was a good size given i wasnt that hungry but manged to eat the whole thing and portion of chips.

After a long hot day, a pint of Doombar, Landlord, Moretti, Madri or Darkfruits (there’s more to choose from as the drinks selection is perfect) while sitting outside on the pride benches is nothing short of heaven. I have been coming to the Hood for a number of years, almost weekly now and it is undoubtedly the best pub in Sheringham. Whether it’s the famous skeleton at the bar, the cheerful bartender wearing a waistcoat, the superb decor, good food, kids/adults play area or the gripping gossip that inevitably gets spilled at the table, this pub is what a pub should be like! Long live the Robin Hood, never change!

Great real local pub... Thursday Quiz night..great night.

A small group arrived for a celebration drink just after 9.30 pm on a Saturday night. There were no free tables where we could sit comfortably, but there was a section of the pub where chairs had been placed on top of tables. We asked if we could sit there and was told by the cheerless bar person 'no I've just cleared up that area'. There was a pervading smell of gas and the same person, with the aura of Eeyore, told us the smell had been around for 6 years. The pub is full of character, but the lack of welcome to people who want to spend money is off-putting.

we went there for lunch last month and the food was really good, service 10/10 and the decorations inside are different from usual and it was very lovely.

Clean and tidy, staff very helpful and friendly, with a wide range of drinks, both beers and wines as well as spirits. Food portions were good, and it was hot and freshly cooked. Will be going again.

Extremely rude staff behind bar. Very unwelcoming. Was meeting 8 friends there however due to the welcome I received we went elsewhere. Do not recommend especially if you are a woman.

We arrived at the start of the lunch period, before 1230 Still told a 45 min wait for food Not great.

Less pub more "restaurant". Food was ok, nothing incredible, but good. Staff and other diners were all very friendly so it had a nice atmosphere. The TARDIS in the back was also a nice touch!

Called in for a sandwich and a pint during our visit to the 40s weekend. Was charged £8 for a pathetic cheese and onion toastie. Ordinary white sliced bread, nothing special, came with 8 chips. Absolute rip off!

Went for 1940s weekend in Sheringham, Norfolk, absolutely brilliant and amazing costumes and world war 2 outfits and amazing army vehicles to vintage cars and bikes, plenty to do and see.

We ordered the steak and onion baguette, it was bland unseasoned cold , what a waste of money, the best thing were th chips. been better off at mcdonalds

Flat beer, need toilet refurb !!

Food not brilliant for me. Chicken and leek pie was ok. 2 and not even a half small new potatoes, soft broccoli and cauliflower 1 floret of each (thank god as anymore would have been a waste as I wouldn't have eaten them) and a few carrots. A portion of overcooked chips in a small bowl for £4.50 and 3 dry slices of garlic bread at £4.50. Hunters chicken minus the bacon. Over priced and not well cooked. Sorry but it is a no from me. However If just popping in for a drink, do enjoy the decorating and going back in time with all the nic nacs on the wall which lovely.

Had a weekend in sheringham decided to go out for lunch the Robin hood looked nice and had good reviews! Pub inside was nice,menu ok,both my husband and I had the serlion steak it came with the usual chips,peas,home made onion rings and tomatoes.both of us asked for medium to well done,I had to send my steak back as it was so bloody and under cooked when I cut in to it,there was so much fat on both of them by the time we cut it off there was hardley any meat left, Home made onions rings were to thick with batter,greasy and tasteless, chips were over cooked and limited, it was that bad we left most of our meals and left, drinks were flat and warm, worst part was about an hour after eating in the robin hood we both had constant Diarrhoea and felt sick for rest of afternoon we had to cancel our afternoon/evening plans. Not a pub we would ever recommend unless you want to spend the rest of your day on the toilet worst of all we paid £50 for a horrible tastless meal macdonalds would've been better!!!

We had two of the three vegetarian main courses available. Unfortunately we only really enjoyed the vegetarian sausages. They were surprisingly good. Everything else was strangely bland. Not even salt helped with the fries, parts of the mashed potatoes and fries as well as half the burger remained. We wouldn't come back for dinner, but the pub was very busy and you could see how much people liked it there. English was spoken around us and we think it is a favorite with the locals. The live music was also good.

Unfortunately had a really disappointing meal here. The food was massively overpriced for the quality of food you got. The staff weren’t the most helpful either and even refused to walk around the table to collect the plates after we had finished our meal and instead demanded “pass those plates down to me”.

We both had the session steak it was horrible so much by the time ot had been cut away you were left with hardly any steak!onion rings were home made and to big and stodgy inside over all not great considering it cost 50 quid oh and flat coke

Great pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Very efficient barman, cook and serving staff. Food prompt and fine standard pub fare. A stone's throw from Sheringham Station too. Interesting decor too.

A bit quirky (there's a full size skeleton sitting at the bar for some reason, but the staff were amiable and the garden was nice. It has a play frame slide for the kids so great for a quick pint on a sunny day

We enjoyed excellent food and drink here during our holiday. The staff were all friendly and I enjoyed the recommendation of landlords bitter, very nice. Thank you guys, hopefully see you all again next year, be safe.

I had hunters chicken with chips and peas. The portion sizes were very generous and the food was piping hot. The staff were attentive and smiley. The drink I chose cost £1.40 more at East Runton later the same day. It was identical. The pub has loads of character and things to look at, some of which were quite nostalgic. It’s the first time I’ve been to Sheringham but if I ever return I wouldn’t hesitate to visit The Robin Hood again.

Typical pub grub. Hot and cheap enough. Clean toilets, which is always a good sign. It was full of interesting memorabilia.

Popped in to listen to a singer and was very impressed. Graham McGrotty was brilliant and interacted with the audience in a fantastic way.

Went in for dinner polite staff nice feel to place, beer reasonable price food excellent best steak I've had in years.

Ate here during a quiet lunchtime, so Atmosphere difficult to judge otherwise good.

We had Lasagne & Chips, Chicken Curry and Rice, both meals piping hot and good size portions. Bottle of house Sauvignon Blanc good and not expensive. We will definitely eat here again during our holiday this week.

Should be more clear on what's in food on menu. Had the stake&ale pie. (Wouldn't ordered if I had known.) The menu doesn't mention mushrooms but when I taken the pastry lid off their was about 5 prices of meat and the rest mushroom and carrots. (Love the carrots) When told staff they Said they could talk to the kitchen but never came back. Didn't seem interested. Someone ells did have the Fish and chips and they said theirs was very nice.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch and the lovely staff were great. The pub even gives you the option of having a smaller portion, which we called normal size, as they are very generous with portion.

I really like this pub. It is quirky with lots of historic decoration from up to and over a hundred years ago. I have spent a one week holiday in Sheringham for five years and always use this pub. The staff are friendly, efficient and enthusiastic, the prices of booze are sensible and it is a very comfortable place to have a sit down and a drink.

Vibrant pub, good atmosphere. Well worth a pint and an hour of your time.

Second visit (and won't be the last) whilst on a break in Norfolk. Good beer selection and well kept. Had Sunday Lunch which was excellent. Well cooked and generous portions. Good quality and value. TARDIS door and other memorabilia around the walls makes an interesting place to drop into.

Called on the off chance while staying in Sheringham. Was not disappointed. Had the best Chicken soup I have ever had. I got the lasagna and hubby got the chilli. Both good portions and very tasty. Had a potion of the cheesy garlic bread. Home made and again tasty. Could not fault the service. Al staff friendly and informative. You won’t be disappointed

Family meal in lovely Sheringham. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. A real pub with lots of local residents enjoying themselves. Will definitely be calling in next time we visit. The steak & ale pie is highly recommended.

Very low marks given simply because we paid £25 for a cab to get a decent pint of ale in a proper pub only to find yet again they've "run" out of all ales!! It's got to be at least the fifth time this year!

Decided to have a meal at The Robin Hood to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we booked a table a few days before. The meal was perfect, they even added something that wasn't included with the meal that I asked for, the staff were attentive and lovely and meal itself fairly priced and delicious. The Robin Hood has a lovely atmosphere, filled with many bits of memorabilia which keeps your eyes occupied and creates talking points. Overall we've had a wonderful evening.

Called into this pub after a meal at Stubbys Pizza. Accosted by a hostile and rather drunken lady. She clearly was well known to the staff who should have refused to serve her. She could not get her credit card accepted and promptly sat on the floor telling me she was " going to have to pee " which her friends found most amusing. I left immediately feeling rather threatened.

First time here (tourist!) Great pub (no dart boards,pool tables etc) Lots of memorabilia,SO much character. If we lived here it would DEF be our local. All staff SO lovely, helpful, & smiley😃 . We had battered cod,chips etc, SO nice. Highly recommended

Poped in for Sunday Lunch had their Beef Roast Dinner. This has to be the best Roast dinner we have had beats carvery by a mile a generous potion of tender beef. Lovely Roast potatoes and boiled and 4 different retailers all a good portion. Highly recommend this pub for great food but go early as when we arrived the Lamb had been sold through.

Stayed in Sheringham for a few days recently and visited the Robin Hood. No welcome by staff and drinks served without any conversation! Locals in the bar stopped their conversation and we really felt as if we were infiltrating. No menus available apart from a couple on the wall near the bar so we drank and left.

Love visiting this pub! We live in Norwich so it's about an hour for us to drive there but we almost always visit when in Sheringham. Lovely place for food or just a drink

Brilliant pub,with good real ale. Also lots of interesting old chocolate and cigarette machines on walls.

Eight of us, four adults and four children (aged 4,6,6,8) went last Sunday after doing the Santa express. So not pre booked. A senior female member of staff clocked us immediately as we walked in. Confirmed the number of our group, handed us menus and instructed us to a table. Very clear menu which ment the children could pick, then go outside and play. We ordered at the bar which I think is what others did too. The food came quite quickly and the pub was filling up now. Our friends had burger and pie, their children shared an adult scampi. We had Sunday roast and curry. Our children had childrens chicken nuggets and a veg lasagne. Everyone had clean plates at the end which I think says it all.

Basically a group of 6 of us stopped here whilst visiting Sheringham for the afternoon. We had hot and cold drinks, in a warm and welcoming environment, interesting well due to the various paraphernalia adorning the walls. Recommended 👍
