in-store restaurant at Aldiss store in North Norfolk

Great quality sausages. Always a pleasant experience. Good quality condiments. Nice buzz to the place. Always popular with the smart grey set.

Had a delicious Korma and Rice, plus 2 cups of very nice coffee (a free refill) - all for £18.90. It was very busy, as usual, but the tables are quickly cleared and cleaned. The food was piping hot but we do ask for hot plates, as sometimes plate has been cold, which soon cools food, especially for a slow eater like me! The scones are fantastic - 2 different sizes and very good value.

Although popular, there are much better places in Fakenham. On today’s visit there was a limited choice of dishes served with tired looking vegetables. I chose the quiche, that was on display, only to be told it was ‘sold out’. Soup of the day was tomato, so I chose that instead. After a very long wait (due to ‘problems with the till apparently ) my soup arrived. It wasn’t tomato but an anonymous a barely warm vegetable concoction. I complained to the waitress who snapped ‘this is the soup of the day’. I’m still not sure what it was as the chef had been very liberal with the salt pot. To sum up the soup in one word. YUK! The bread roll was OK. Poor food and grumpy staff was my lasting impression.

Popped in for a drink after spending several hundred pounds in shop downstairs. Queuing system very confusing especially as a member of staff was greeting family members. Arrived at the till to be told price if items, no please and when corrected the look was a if to say why are you expecting me to say please. Very rude with no interaction with customers and no courtesy. NOT IMPRESSED

Good choice of meals and snacks. Coffee that we had today was luke warm. Large seating area. Seems very popular on a Thursday, which is Market Day in Fakenham. Cafe staff seem like they don’t enjoy their job.

10 out of 10 the staff were friendly. Food served quickly Breakfast fantastic ! Plus good value for money ! I posted a picture of the Full English breakfast on rate my Fry up on Facebook and got over 270 likes and 28 comments and not one bad one all good !!! 😁

panini was a squashed baguette with almost no filling. No one came to check the meal was ok. Ended up leaving the uneaten meal on the table and left. Very poor. Won't visit again.

We went in here whilst shopping in the store and we had coffees and snacks which we found quite expensive for what you ordered

This is a lovely quite spacious cafe for a department store.We popped in for a quick coffee and was surprised by the full range of foods on the menu. We had cheese scones which were delicious. Next time we will sample a full meal

Had sandwiches and hot drinks here. Wanted baked potatoes, had sold out quite early on, so chose a sandwich (chicken salad on granary). It was dry, leathery and a bit like an old garage sandwich. My Mum had a cheese and pickle sandwich. Both of us were really unimpressed and had to wait for a long time too. Person serving could not dredge up a smile, in fact we felt like an inconvenience. Won't eat here again.

Noisy environment and everything quite basic, no real style or flair, a bit of a let down. Lovely airy room and toilets really nice but in general this was all a little bit Littlewoods.

went here a while ago and had some lunch ,it gets extremely busy at lunch times ,food is nice and nice staff ,basic layout and basic table and chairs ,its located upstairs in the Aldiss shop

This is really an in store cafe and there are no real surprises here except a lovely light airy feel to the space helped by having the tables set well apart. It is clean and the staff make sure the tables are cleared regularly. The food is freshly cooked and whether you want something substantial or just a cake or roll and drink you will be well catered for.

This is a lovely little cafe serving light bites, full daily specials and other meals and a range of cakes and desserts. The children's lunch box is excellent value for money, probably the best we have found. Great jacket potatoes and a range of other good meals. The scones are particularly good. We bought some to take home for tea!

For an in store eatery, it is very busy the food is nice and the cafe a pleasant place to eat, although it has no views. The staff are very helpful and polite.

I was surprised to see this as In-store restaurant as it has another listing under its name, "Shapes", so these two listings should be combined, shouldn't they?

A Monday afternoon brief visit for tea. Screaming toddlers and dirty teacup didn't make me feel particularly welcome! If only this cafe reflected the quality of service and goods in the store things would be so much better.

Great food and friendly staff . The service is very good ,clean and fast service would highly recommend to all my friends.

Called in for a coffee but felt the service could be improved upon. I've been in before and not had a problem but this time there was no smile or chat and they were not busy. The coffee was pushed towards me and my Loyalty Card was reluctantly stamped. Coffee and tea were fine. One other thing is that the floor is really springy and you feel it as people walk past.

This restaurant is worth a visit. Coffee was excellent and Cheese Scone "yummy". Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff.

From a light lunch -sandwich- to a proper meal with daily specials its all here. Scones available in regular or large!

I used to frequent this place much more than I do these days, however stopping off for a mid-afternoon tea with a pal today (Saturday) I felt it lacked something pretty important - good service. Some of the staff can be very friendly, remember you as a customer, and can't be faulted. However, I do hate bad service, and this afternoon the sullen girl on the counter gave no hint of a smile, no thank you, no interaction, no sign of a facial expression other than glum - it felt almost as if we were putting her to a degree of trouble to serve us. Poor when other establishments do it better. Staff training requirement here or just a lesson in common courtesy.

Always tasty food and we especially enjoy the bacon baps which are exceptional value. Clean and usually tidy, it does get very busy especially on a Thursday morning. Also renowned for their excellent scones. Worth a look round the extensive shop when visiting. Obviously only open during store times though.

Friendly staff and good selection of meals/snacks and drinks. Meals change daily good choice with veggie option. Good size portions served with a smile.

Nice selection of food on offer while you ponder over your shopping experience at this vast shop. Car park is near by

This cafe, I wouldnt call it a restaurant, is very clean, nicely laid out and serves a range of hot meals for Breakfast and Lunch, hot and cold drinks and snacks , all well prepared and reasonably priced. It is not the palce for that special celebration as it only opens during store times. It is excellent if you missed breakfast or want a mid morning coffee and snack or lunch.

The food was good quality,tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were polite and friendly. The toilets were nice and clean.

Clean, good choice of food and value for money- scone and coffee just £2.65! Lovely place to meet family and friends.

I've been to Shapes restaurant on many occasions and haven't yet had a bad experience. The place is light and airy with plenty of space. There is a good sized menu and there are always daily hot specials. The food is always freshly prepared and made with good quality ingredients. The service is always polite and efficient and the prices are very reasonable.Ideal for a nice lunch or just for a drink and a snack.

clean and friendly you must try the fruit scones, they are lush piled high just waiting to be chosen, you get a choice of size, my theory here of the bigger the better certainly applies here.

Lovely little coffee shop, serves good variety of food and ideal if visiting the store to stop for lunch or coffee.
