Site was ok for a pitch up site. Very noisy near and close to the road, ok for one night I suppose if your stuck. The Green Man pub very basic and not like the pictures are showing on Trip Advisor. Not the most scenic site in Norfolk. Will not return .

Had a fantastic meal here tonight. Steak & kidney pie, mashed potatoes and four veg! Absolutely fantastic. Pie was incredible and veg cooked to perfection. I couldn't finish it (I did finish the pie)! It is now two hours later and I still feel full. My husband, who can usually eat for England couldn't finish his main but, being a hero he had a dessert as well. I would recommend The Green Man to anybody who loves real food!

We booked in on the campsite for the weekend and were a little apprehensive having read the latest review but had a really pleasant stay. Very clean, really friendly attentive polite staff. Food basic but tasty and good value. Can’t really fault it value for money wise. Would have no qualms about returning as well placed for visits to Holkham, Walsingham, Wells etc.

Recently visited the Green Man with some friends and the beer was absolutely appalling. I tried a pint of Woodfordes Wherry which tasted and smelt of vinegar. I then tried a pint of London Pride and that was dreadful too. I overheard a couple of what I assume were locals talking and one of them was saying that he only drank the lager now because the Real Ale had made him sick a couple of weeks ago. Wouldn't even fancy trying the food if they can't even keep beer properly. The restaurant was empty and the place had a really depressing feel to it. Would be very sad if this was my local.

We stayed here recently on the little campsite behind the The Green Man pub and it was very neatly kept and the facilities were clean and tidy. We had a meal in the pub one evening which was very nice, however the restaurant is looking very tired and could do with a spruce up. But we had a good time.

As a last minute campervan trip, we were looking for a basic campsite with somewhere for dinner for the night. Lovely simple campsite with facilities which were clean and pleasant. Colin the owner was very accommodating and food was gorgeous! The locals in the pub were friendly, and we felt right at home. The evening was full of laughs, and considering we had never been here before, everyone was so lovely we stayed the following day and enjoyed a sunday roast aswell. Food was plentiful and was delicious. The campsite was small and well kept with everything you could need. Only being 15mins from cromer seaside, it was the perfect stopping point. We actually stopped again for lunch the following week on the way to the coast, and the pub staff were again really friendly. Looking forward to the restrictions lifting further for a karaoke evening, or a themed night, as it's a perfect little pub to enjoy an evening at. We would most definitely stay again, and if your anywhere near, would recomend popping in for something to eat as the food and people are excellent.

We have just returned from the Greenman Inn after a weeks stay. Its a great little site and we would return without doubt. When we arrived we were put on the fist 2 pitches which are nearly flat and very large nore than enough room for a 8 foot wide twin axle van with full awning still leaving room to park the cars. The toilets are ideal for the size of site, we didn't use the showers as we always use the caravan shower but they were cleaned regularly. There are little bits which we would change but that's only personal preference and it certainly wouldn't stop us returning.

We were staying in the area to celebrate 60th birthday, the owners of our stay advised against this place however as it was so near we decided to visit for an evening meal,we got as far as the bar and walked out without buying anything, there was an unusual fousty stale smell from somewhere. Unfortunately can,t comment on service, drinks or food, so it may be fine, but not for us and we are normally easy pleased.

Visited for a drink with family and was instantly glared at by the other customers, presumably because we were not regulars. We ordered our first lot of drinks all fine the service was blunt to be polite. We waited some time to be served again for our next lot of drinks and were ignored by the lady working the bar completely and were in the end served by another member of staff who noticed we were being ignored. At one point another customer made me feel so uncomfortable I moved so he could no longer see me as he had been staring at me for a good twenty minutes. Prices were reasonable just service was not great. I honestly felt as welcome as a fart in a lift. We were barely spoken to when served and we were not greeted with the same friendlyness that we noticed others were greeted with. I work in the hospitality industry myself and I understand it can be tiring and you can't always be enthusiastic and energetic when serving customers but I always maintain a friendly attitude and this just wasn't what we were met with. Disappointed is an understatement. But I would like to say thank you to the gentleman who noticed we had been ignored and came over to serve us.

As I was hungry it was very hard and overcooked. My wife had a salad.that was a lot to be desired. I did mintion that I never got belly pork who said she would tell the owner. His excuse was he got big lumps of pork that's how it comes he never showed himself so I could discuss it with him. No deduction at all charged fur the two drinks very bad. Service Good bless her. We went as a large crowd for this particular evening and they laid a carvery on for us. The food was of good quality but unfortunately the food was not hot enough. It took the edge off the evening and I am not sure f it was because it was done purely for a private booking or if there is generally a problem. The sweets were fine and hot and were probably micro waved to get them to that temperature. We are not local but if we were we would not return. Keith C

As it was freezing we decided to eat in the inn the food was amazing chips in particular were home made scrumptious and my partner enjoyed the ales. Owners were really welcoming and the campsite was spotless was really handy having the inn attached as the weather was sadly not on our side. It is in a great location situated in the middle of national trust places and about 20 minutes from the coast (cromer) all the facilities were spotless and no complaints from the 2 of us. Would definitely recommend this campsite and encourage any campers to sample the inns food (and beers) as it was lovely.

Ian and I visited The Green Man Inn for the first time yesterday before going on to The Thursford Christmas Spectacular. We had two friends with us from Grantham. Thank you to everyone for starting our afternoon and evening off with a lovely meal, fun and laughter. It was delicious, lots of choices both on the specials board and on the main menu. Although we were the only customers wanting a meal, (it was 2.30 , an in between lunch and supper time,) we were given the choice of the bar or the restaurant, we chose the latter which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We shall certainly call in for a meal next time we are in the area. It is good to find an inn with excellent food and that welcomes dogs in the bar. Have a wonderful Christmas.

Had a few days staying on the campsite at the back of the pub for New Year. Although the weather was very wet, the landlord was accommodating by letting us stay on the car park so we wouldn't get stuck in the mud and ran a cable across so we could still have electricity. At 1st glance the shower didn't look much from the outside but inside was very clean and lovely hot water. The pubs atmosphere was very friendly with a mix of locals and campers some with their dogs. There is a separate room where food is served and dogs not allowed in or you can eat in the bar with your four legged friend. We had Sunday lunch which was really tasty. A free buffet and a folk band were the evenings entertainment for New Years eve, which went down really well. This very friendly couple are new and just finding their feet as far as what locals/punters want etc. Will definitely call back next time we're in the area.

What a pitiful place....I honestly have never stayed in such an unfriendly place and believe me, we've travelled around alot in our trusty bongo. Firstly there was the sour puss woman who on arrival didn't give my husband any information about the site whatsoever, very unfriendly and rude, absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever, almost as if they didn't want us there. Once we'd parked up the van after negotiating a chain that was placed across the entrance to the site which incidentally you couldn't see in the fading light, I honestly think that if we'd arrived any later and it was dark the would have been a strong possibly of having it wrapped around my bull bars!! Once parked up I needed to loo, couldn't get in as there were these stupid key locks that you needed a code for. I went into the bar and met the landlord, I asked him for the code for the toilet and he gave me an A4 piece of paper with a list of all the things you couldn't do! Some sort of welcome pack!!! I found the number for the lock amongst all the other information....I left the toilet open though as I didn't fancy negotiating the lock in the middle of the night!!! I have never been to a campsite where you have to physically put a code in, an electronic pass yes.... We made our bed in the van while being spied on from the balcony by the strange woman! Then thought we'd go and have some dinner in the pub, walked in, we were met by two adorable dogs, having two of our own we thought it nice that dogs were welcome, we thought wrong, the miserable woman kept calling her dogs back each time they came over to us, made us feel very awkward. She sat and watched the TV and ignored everything we said, we tried to engage with her, but no. Icy atmosphere... The beer was nice so we thought we'd have another! We weren't offered a menu though and the woman more or less told my eight year old son to sit down as he was dancing to some music on the TV.... We decided not to eat there. Then they had some friends arrive which thankfully took the focus off us, they ordered food and sat on a table next to us. We were having issues getting my son on the internet, it transpired that the guy had given us an incorrect code and missed a number off it, they were talking about this at the dinner table as if it was something we had done wrong, not even offering to help. My son end up going to the bar to ask for help. We moved seats to finish off our drinks. The toilets in the pub were also disgusting, the holder above the sink all rusty. I could go on but I think you get the picture. The pitch was just a mud bath. We ended up eating in our van and drinking a bottle of wine that we had brought along. My son wanted to know why the lady was so mardy!! I will never go there again, these people don't deserve such a lovely place, although it needs some updating it could be a goldmine. We left early this morning as we didn't feel comfortable being watched while making it breakfast.... The woman saw us leaving and didn't even wave out day goodbye, I don't know why they took an instant dislike to us! Maybe it's because we had a tent year old camper van!! I wish I'd read the comments on Tripadvisor before booking this place, I don't know why I didn't.... Never again.... The only good thing is that it only cost us £12 for the night, anymore I think I'd have asked for my money back and I'm sure glad it was just one night.....

The food is ok but horrendously overpriced, as are the drinks. The beer was off and while you can get round the idea of the decor the worst part about this pub is the landlord. He is rude and arrogant and should not be in the trade, I'll go as far to say he makes Basil Fawlty look like a customer service role model. He'll get on with you as long as he can talk about his dogs. They are continually off their leads and don't even think about bringing your own dogs into the pub as they won't be made to feel welcome. In all truth the experience was far worse than what I've stated and have never more relieved to leave a place. On the plus side the caravan park is cheap and due to it's location gives it good access to Fakenham, Holt and the coast. Even then there are far better places in the area so just plan ahead and go to them. As you can see from the ratings some people have a good time but there are just as many people that don't. What you need to ask yourself is if you choose to go here, what sort of experience are you going to have?

What a fantastic welcome from the landlord and landlady, here for a few days on the caravan park made more than welcome. some of our group had come 200 miles for this weekend, went in pub 4 nights didn't eat the first night but the atmosphere was good a nice open fire a bit warm at times, 8 of us had food on Friday evening very good from steak and ale pie that was me very nice indeed to Duck Chinese style a friend had that he said very good, Saturday 12 of us had Christmas dinner from the carvery excellent, atmosphere was great with 2 party's going on.All our friends had to go home Sunday the pub was heaving with a bus load and a very busy lunch time so we went back in the evening after the rush only 2 local's finishing a drink left us on our with the landlord and landlady Vic & Shirley, we ask if food was still on Vic said no trouble what would you like we went for the Duck it was ready in no time and yes my friend was right it was very nice we spent the rest of the evening with Vic & Shirley in front of the fire what a lovely end to a fabulous weekend break. Will be back next year. Libra charity club "caravaning"

Thought we'd try something different for anniversary. Crispy duck wasn't crispy and no plum sauce and rice was undercooked. Burger was burnt underneath. Steak wasn't well done as requested. Won't be getting that takeaway again. All in all £40 could have been better spent elsewhere.

We stayed in a nearby caravan park and called in for a drink. The landlord and landlady were very welcoming and friendly so we booked a table for Sunday lunch. The food was great and the service excellent. Good choice and value for money. We would definitely go back again.

It's a pub, and for me personally, if the beer is a disgrace, everything else is secondary. We went here and ordered various drinks, I had a pint of something by Adnams. It was memorably bad, flat, lifeless and slightly sour, in the good old Norfolk tradition that is thankfully dying out rapidly. Or rather, the pubs that serve beer like that are dying out rapidly, and the sooner the better. My friends weren't impressed with their drinks either. That brings me to the decor. Bizarre rather than quirky, it's like taking a trip back to an upmarket 1970s council house. Everybody's different, but I hated the place. I would recommend you to visit, but only if you are trying to find the worst pub you have ever been in.

I Visited here on Sunday the 2nd of October with my Mother ,We had the Pork sunday roast each which was £10.50 each. The Pork was tasty but served cold there was various veg with it some hot some just warm.and a small yorkshire pud.The two small roast potatoes were very tasty. We used my Taster card so for £5.25 each it was ok but if we had paid full it wouldve been expensive and we wouldve complained about cold meat etc.We had the brownie with fruit compote dessert each which was very nice.I wouldnt come here again its just very average. But i suspect the Fish meals are possibly Very good.Roger Clarke Oct 2016.

Call in once or twice a year - visited last month and service very quick, food well presented, tasty and good portion size. Typical pub grub fare and all 4 in our party had an excellent meal. Good value for a seaside town.

We went to The Green Man for Sunday lunch to celebrate a family birthday. The pub was a little tired and littered with dreadful chattels and tasteless objects (like the teddy bear in my photograph below) and the signs were ominous. But actually the food was quite good - home cooked so no complaints on that front. It was what it was. The service was a little slow and the man carving at the carvery was a bit grumpy. We probably would not go back again but the reason being no WiFi - it is inexcusable for a pub in the 21st Century not to have it.

Victor and Shirley are a great team. He is the chef, she runs the front of the house with motherly charm. Customers and their dogs are made to feel welcome. Two of us shared the Green Man fish platter (for two)- Crab, prawns, whitebait, smoked mackerel, scampi tails etc, served with gourmet chips and salad - excellent value at £24.. We were advised ,correctly, that we would not need a starter but managed a vanilla ice cream with interesting toppings for pud,. Recently refurbished, this is a comfortable venue and the meal for two came to £36. Service homely and friendly, excellent value. House wines are £10 per bottle and beer £3 per pint. Deserves to be put on the list..

I have never written a review on social media or trip advisor nor do I read them but know people do so hence my review of the green man, when I rung to book our table In the week for today I was given the impression we would be squeezed in late afternoon after the Sunday lunch rush which I thought was good for the pub and I didn't mind at all, however we arrived and we were the only family there unless the whole place had been emptied 5 mins before. Our welcome was awful the same as the decor, the lack of cleanness and the service. Even our 5 year old said 'where are all the people' as we eat in restaurants and pubs that have customers. The food was ok, my husbands starter wasn't good and when he complained he literally got his starter microwaved I did think when you get served your starters before your FIRST drinks that tells me either the starter food is sat waiting to be microwaved (not very well the first time) or the 'bar staff' are well...... not cleaning. I know everyone has different tastes with how they want their home or business to look but being clean, dust free and flying beetle free would always help! There was no excuse for the slow service with our drinks and there is no excuse for rude service from the older woman and man or their lack of cleaning hoovering de-. Very disappointed from a family of four that love to eat out when we can and eat nice food and feel happy after visiting a pub or restaurant

The pub is somewhat dated and in need of a bit of TLC, but the food and service are fine. Pleasant campsite to the rear with basic but adequate facilities for campers.

Stopped for lunch ordered Crab Salad priced £11.50. and Calvary at £9.Greasey Yorkshire puds frozen Ma Betty type. runner beans were stringy never eat them, the rest of the meal ok. When my wife salad arrived she was well disappointed. One small crab shell with crab meat a few lettuce leaves two small wedges of tomato and grated carrot and 5 small potato's . What a rip off. The man doing the carving had to leave his station to make the salad, result a 7 person queue. I was queueing when my wifes salad came if I was at the table it would have sent back for sure.My wife left as hungry as when she arrived. How they get away with this is beyond me. I had a pub for 10 years would not dream of serving such rubbish. I think they are not bothered as most of there trade is passing trade (as we were) so would not return.

This was a Groupon deal for Steak or Lobster with wine and we chose the steak deal with no regrets. The steak was juicy and succulent and well cooked, The plate was short of vegetables but the mushrooms, tomatoes and chips helped to satisfy the empty stomach. Friendly staff with two Westies which a free to roam and provide entertainment. The bar area is dog friendly and our dog joined us and made friends with no hassel. The pub was lacking in a bit of atmosphere and seemed to be reluctant to accept a booking after 1800 but would recommend.

We visited here during our holiday due to having groupon voucher. It was like a timewarp which we laughed off. The landlord is one of the rudest men we have ever met, our arrival was obviously an inconvenience to him. The landlady was a little more friendly, we ordered off the groupon voucher and also an extra meal which was very expensive for what it was. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Steak was ok but nothing special at all

My wife and I first visited this very pleasant pub/restaurant a week ago for our wedding anniversary lunch, using a Groupon voucher for a crab salad with new potatoes and included wine at a very modest price. Needless to say, we also had smoked mackerel and pate starters, beautifully presented on slate plates. The crab was delicious, and we were impressed to see the landlord pop out for further supplies during service.Sticky toffee pudding and 'proper" vanilla ice cream with red fruits completed a delicious and very reasonably priced meal.On returning home, we rang up our best friends, whose wedding anniversary is today, and suggested a repeat visit this lunchtime. Very reasonably priced drinks were followed by two larder platters, a beautiful selection of fresh and deep fried seafood. Great interaction with the landlord, landlady and chefs. Needless to say, two sticky toffee puddings and two red fruit coupes followed. And at the end, a very reasonable bill. Well worth the trip up from Norwich!

Me and my husband came with a Groupon voucher for 2 crab lunches with wine. The place itself was smelly and unattractive. I would have not paid attention to this but owner of place was very unfriendly and does not seem like she should deal with customers. When I asked could we change wine to any soft drink she refused it as well as for other people who been sitting at nearby table. I tried wine anyway which was awful. Crab was ok, side salad also fine but potatoes were cold and felt like boiled few days ago. Overoll, very poor experience.

Went with friends to look round and have a drink. When we saw the food coming out from the kitchen it looked outstanding and we decided to stay and eat. What a treat we had fabulous sharing seafood platter, huge plate full of a delicious variety of seafood with a helping of tasty chips. The other item ordered was cod and chips which was again gorgeous. The Landlady warm and engaging. Highly recommended.

We both went for the lobster which was really great value and my wife had a lovely dessert. We arrived early & and had a drink in the garden but I was disappointed with the Adnams bitter. Having been in the trade either the equipment was not clean or had not been serviced. Shame but II admit I did not complain- I should have as they were a lovely & friendly couple. However I certainly would go back.

A nice traditional pub, very old and dated in need of an update, with a 1950's feel but with lovely lovely traditional food. Landlady is a nice host and nothing is too much trouble. The sunday carvery is highly recommended. Landlady is most helpful and made us welcome. Myself and my cousin had previously been to another local pub who took one look at my cousin with her tri-walker and didn't want to know.

A stunning place in a stunning location, let down by mis management, no food available on the menu, which I read is the norm. Not satisfactory as we were residents who didn't want to travel outside of the pub. 30 seconds walk to roys, which was ideal on a shopping trip. But the food when it did arrive was tepid! And not very enjoyable...but the icing on the cake was when we sat there for three hours and witnessed the young barman who truly did not smile once...not a welcoming sight for customers!

Second visit, very good staff, room was clean and comfortable and only £32 , buffet breakfast £8 ( thru Expedia), right on the sea front, yards from the promenade. Car park is at the rear of the building, £6 per 24 hours.

I've just had a cod special here, you get a lovely size piece of cod, chips and mushy peas or curry sauce for £6.60/70 I think it was. It was the most delicious piece of fish I've had for a long time, the batter was light and crispy, the fish skinless and so tasty, the chips were delicious too, curry sauce great too. Everything piping hot and presented in a box so easy to eat in the car. The service was fast and very friendly people. I'll be back for more. 😊

The normal excellent food and service was simply missing tonight, enough to take this off our list fir the future. We visit here around 8 times a year. Tonight we booked a Christmas meal. Soup was lovely. Pate arrived as two large slices with no relish or chutney but only 3 very small pieces of toasted fresh bread - a request for more bread resulted in 2 cold white slices of store bread. Main meal arrived- one had 1 slice of gammon and 2 slices of turkey, the other 4 slices of turkey - all were very. Veru dry. Covered in a largely amount of congealed gravy. With frozen roast potatoes which were not hot, just warm. Vegetables of Brussels, carrots, broccoli and red cabbage along with pigs in blankets were all OK. No parsnips. We sent them both back. Two desserts - Christmas pudding which was lovely and a cheesecake which though huge, wasn't a cheesecake. Two meals with 2 Guinness cost us £60, after a ruffled waitress "comp'd" the drinks.
