Lovely go to fish and chips freshly cooked

Disgusting cod, haddock and chips. Through it away. Fish was not fresh. Food was brown where cooked in dirty fat. Avoid.

Excellent food and friendly service.

The worst fish and chip I have ever tasted, the chips were like small off cuts and were dark brown, the fish was dark brown and bland the batter was hard, such a waste of money and it wasn't cheap, we went to bed hungry

Best fish n chips in town. Friendly staff cooking fresh to order and best value. Been going there since early 70s.

Probably the worst Cod & Chips I’ve ever had. Service was super - fish was overcooked and dry. Chips were overcooked and soggy.

Traditional Cod & Chips were excellent tasting. Obviously fresh fish with crispy batter, good portion sizes. Chips not for those who like uniform bland perfect looking ones.... but great tasting and well cooked.

Very disappointed quality was very poor

We had been looking forward to Fish n chips as we are on holiday. I saw some local people in the shop so thought this was a good sign. Was rated as a 5 so felt confident regatding food safety. The food quality was very disappointing 😞 fish dry and probably double battered and re fried. Chips very dark in colour and certainly were not fresh. We wasted our money not very nice to eat! Would not recommend.

I have been coming to Seafare since the Seventies I love this chippy reasonably priced and great food I always trust Peggs you can't beat em!

We stop off here and had 2 x cod and chips must say — — very disappointed with the dinner the fish was dry and chips had black bits in them not good at all. We have been before and always had good food so very surprised at the way it had gone down hill. Will we be going back I think not — — sorry.

Best chicken filet nuggets I have ever had. Used to come here every 2nd week for a treat with my little brother back in 2015. We always ordered the nuggets, chips and curry sauce and would sit by the beach and eat them. Visited here again over Xmas 2023 and the nuggets have not changed. The only slight difference is everything seemed to be alot more greasy now. It doesn't hinder the flavor but leaves you with greasy hands and face. Would recommend if you're looking for some delicious food!!

I always feel let down when receiving tasteless food, especially fish and chips from a coast town! We had fish, chips, mushy peas, and curry sauce. The fish and chips were tasteless and there was only a tiny bit of taste in the peas and curry sauce. The curry sauce was a bit weird. It lacked flavour and looked more like mango chutney. The other think that irks me is this ‘cash only’ option. Why not accept cards but the p ur chase has to be over £x amount? Running up the road to get cash Just added insult to the injury of a very disappointing meal. :( I only gave an overall 2 stars as the lady serving was very polite.

Chips looked very brown (frying oil possibly needed changing?) Food was tasty. Had x 2 adult fish n chips, sausage and chips and kids fish and chips. Curry sauce also which was very tasty. Couldn't taste the vinegar at all on any of the meals and kids food was quite salty compared to adults. All in all a good meal

The best chips in Sheringham. Fish and sausages looked good too that the kids ate. Skin on fries are the best in town, and we tried a few on our holiday.

It's the fish and chip shop all the locals use, need I say more.

Nice fish and chips, my only complaint would be that myself and some other customers weren't asked if we wanted salt and vinegar before our orders were wrapped up, causing some people to have to unwrap their food to add it and then re-wrap before leaving.

Very poor. The 3 portions of chips were no more than potato ‘bits’ and were overcooked. The 4 cod were reasonably cooked but one piece had 11 bones in it and one other had 2. Certainly we won’t be returning!

Oh my gosh totally disgusting and disappointed by what I was served quick stop on way home so didn't see until got back open the paper to this sorry sight.

We have been a few times but this will be the last. Still got indegestion after eating fish and chips. I think they need to change the cooking oil. Everything tasted a bit burnt. Peas were very nice though.

Worst fish and chips we have ever tried. I agree with Ben Langley comments 100% I wish I had read them beforehand. Ours also went in the bin.

Located a fair distance from the seafront and not on the main drag to the station - so more dependant on locals than Dave's, the Trawler etc. Opens a bit later than other chippies (which explains why I sought it out). Large portions and a decent price. My cod was excellent quality and perfectly cooked. The batter was a little heavy for my liking and the chips a bit soft but Hey! I ate the lot! Hungry? Seek it out.

We waited 20 mins for our chips and when they arrived I very nearly told them to eat them they looked and tasted awful couldn't eat them

Despite some of the poor reviews on here the fish & chips that we had from this place were really good, equally as good as those we’d previously had from Trawler’s closer to the centre. We chose the haddock that was cooked to order & excellent! Fast, friendly service from the staff. Our experience was 5*

Without any question the worst cod and chips I’ve ever had. Think my cod was boiled in 2 year old oil rather than fried. Felt sick just looking at it. Chips fried a dark colour which is either potato quality which I hoped being a cash only business they might spend money on product where they save on tax. Either that or the oil desperately needs changing. Wish I had time to go back and get my money back as I’ve thrown them in the bin not even fit for seagulls

Changing the oil once in a blue moon would be a good start. Very slow service and all the staff did was gossip loudly. The chips were dark brown, very dryon the inside but somehow very stupidly greasy. It was like you picked them out of the bin and then refried them 4 or 5 times. I know oil prices are high but you do need to change it. Waste of money and time. Won't be going back.

Probably the worst fish and chips in Norfolk is about all l can say. The service was friendly so no complaints there. Very disappointed with the food will not be retuning.

You know a shop is good when there is a queue out of the door. The haddock was delicious as were the pineapple rings and chips. We took them away and enjoyed them overlooking the sea

The best chip shop in Sheringham

Been using it for years as our chippy of choice in Sheringham. A real disappointment this year. Tiny portions are understandable in this economy, but the chips were burned, the fish batter stuck to the paper and it was cold. Real shame.

Been to this chippy for several years but this time awful...nice fish but the batter a dark horrible mush rather than a crisp batter, either fat not hot enough or just not cooked properly, chips very average, mushy peas just mush, very sad, won't be back....

Very disappointed. Travelled some distance to get fish and chips and sit on the sea front to eat them. Firstly had to wait 45 minutes and when they arrived the chips were brown and soggy and the batter was a soggy miserable almost black mess. My wife could not eat hers and they went in the neatest bin.

No Haddock on a Saturday evening, cod cooked while waiting, batter was dark and soggy, pulled it off, fish looked like it had been mushed, not fresh. Fishcake for baby, again dark, overcooked. Think it was old oil Chips n peas ok

This place had a queue, but all the chippys close at 8pm in Sheringham and I think that was the reason for the queue, not the standard of cuisine. My plaice was fried very crispy, the chips were dark and not crispy.

I thought it wasn’t busy as it’s a little far from the busy areas of town, that isn’t the case. Service painfully slow. They wear masks but only accept cash? Don’t quite see the logic in that! Handling everyone’s money then their food with no sanitisation between transactions. Handheld contactless card machines for small businesses cost £20 and cost only pence to use! The chips and fish cake I eventually got were dry and burnt. Inedible. Fortunately there is a large public bin right outside where it swiftly ended up.

Food is always good, service is friendly and welcoming.

Every other fish and chip shop in Sheringham was packed with ques down the streets. Seafare was the only one which we could walk straight into. We now know why now. The order was taken and cooked freshly. The staff were loud and seemed to...

My absolute favourite chippy along this part of the coast as use vegetable oil. Fish batter always crispy, chips perfect. Reasonably priced, fast, friendly service with a smile. No horrible polystyrene trays.

We are spoilt for choice in Sheringham for chippies. But family choice is Peggs (as Seafare is known as!) Fresh cooked Haddock and Chips. Superb!

Had cod & haddock with chips a couple of months ago from Seafare. We are locals and always use Seafare, as the fish portions are always generous and the best tasting in Sheringham. But not again. I can only describe the Haddock last week as 'shoe leather', and both the Haddock and Cod were tiny portions compared to Seafare's usual standards. What really gets me is that both the fryer and the owner/server must see what they are serving up, and must realise it is way below their usual standard, and shouldnt allow themselves to serve it. Very disappointed. Pleased to say we revisited Seafare a couple of weeks ago and expressed our disappointment from our last visit. They were very understanding and were sorry our meal was not up to their usual standard. They kindly gave us one complementary Haddock as part of our 4 haddock and chips order and the meal was a vast improvement on the fish quality. Thank you Seafare. Back to 5 stars 👍😊

Went to this chip shop 15/09/20 and got cod and chips twice took them back to our holiday accommodation looking forward to them only to find in the 1st mouthful 6 bones so checked both mine and my sons to find our fish was riddled...

Really awful fish and chips, no wonder this didn't have big queues like other chippies. Fish was wringing in grease, was chewy and tough, like eating a sandal. Chips were undercooked, very disappointed.

Definitely one of the worst chip shops on the Norfolk coast greasy poor quality chips the sausages not the worst just ok for a cheap sausage . The wait to get them was to long as well nothing cooked waiting ages . Great shame

THe fish and chips were cooked to order and the staff were really friendly Portion size was good food could havebeen alittle less greasy but this was perhaps because they had been freshly cooked and not left long enough to drain

We've eaten fish & chips from the Seafare for many years and it is one of the regular highpoints in our stays in Sheringham. The food is great and the service always friendly. We've tried other places, but don't think any are as good.

All food cooked to order so perfectly fresh and hot. Fish was well cooked and not greasy, chips were perfect.

Ok little place one of the best ive had in the town. Its cooked fresh to order, so you may waif a bit but the fish is tasty. Althought watch for a few bones. Really in fish..... yes but worth the pucking out of them.

We love this place! After 10 years of Sheringham holidays we have yet to find anywhere that can beat the quality of food and service for fish & chips in Sheringham. In fact my mum refuses to have them from anywhere else.

The fish and chips from here are always tasty, a good traditional chip shop would recommend after a good day walking around the town.

We chose to have takeaway from this shop as it was open later than the other fish and chip takeaways in the town. Unfortunately they didn’t do haddock which is usually my choice. Had to have cod. Price is very good, but average quality.
