Open late on a Saturday night ( we were shocked to find The Crown shut at 11pm on a Saturday in hight of season) Friendly staff, fun - upbeat atmosphere, and the beer is £4.30 a pint !

If you love a proper pub you will love this place. It’s a great location with good sunny outside seating. It is an old fashioned ‘proper’ pub so don’t expect champagne, cocktails, lots of food or a gastro pub style inside - It’s a proper much missed local pub! However if you are looking for a great beer, very friendly staff, definitely go. Great location & the landlord has everything under control - we were there for the football and it was fun, relaxed and welcoming. My only complaint is that it opens at 1 and sometimes later so check the times - good landlord’s need a life too!

Had 1 pint served in a hot glass asked to replace it in to a second glass still warm ,Gin and tonic in a pop glass no ice or a slice ,both for a £10 not again for me sorry

Spotted this little pub and thought would go in for a beer as holidaying in Sheringham - but we were disappointed. The place is a little dingy, we weren’t welcomed in, no local cask ale, so just walked back out !

Proper little old school local boozer. This kind of pub is what's missing in most towns these days.

Used to be a great pub many years ago, gone downhill now, scruffy youths playing pool, drunk young girls shouting and spilling drinks, some older men dealing drugs, no wonder no tourists go there, I predict this pub will soon be out of business.

Empty even on a sunny day, staff efficient but spent most of the time on fruit machine. Radio on rather than jukebox. Not up to past standards.

Great little pub, really friendly. We stayed in a a holiday let a short distance away & often popped in for a drink. Found Matt & his team really kind & helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Very welcoming pub with friendly locals and a brilliant landlord with Matthew at the helm. Excellent beer, with the ice breaker kept in excellent condition.

Niche little pub away from the crowds.

It could do with a few £££ spending on it looks a bit tired. But we had a good evening playing pool and a few beers.

Was with my partner today having a lovely time walking round Sheringham. We discovered this pub which I'd never seen before so decided to have a pint in there. Ordered a pint but as we were doing so a rotten women and I'm guessing her "man" said some disgusting things while they were playing pool. The barman must have been used to it as he laughed as did other drunken clown's at the bar. We sat outside and downed our pints. Won't be returning it's a rotten place that spoils the town

Nice quiet traditional pub pleasant staff nice and welcoming.

Was staying in Sheringham and decided to pop into this Windham Arms. The barman, Matt was very helpful and friendly. He even offered us all his ‘special’ shot on the house before we left. The pub is definitely a locals place but we were made to feel welcome. It had a nice friendly atmosphere and we wished we had visited it earlier in the week. Drinks were reasonably priced. A pint of lager and double pink gin with mixer was less than a tenner. The other pubs in the town are much dearer. You had to go in and out to get to another seating area and to the toilet but this was not a problem. All part of the quirkiness of the Windham Arms. We will definitely return when we next visit Sheringham.

Full of drunks , staff had no control over drunken guests. Bar area filthy. Really unpleasant experience. Stay away much nicer and friendly places to go .

Popped in for a quick pint, was lively on a Friday night as it was busy with locals, but it meant there was some atmosphere in the place

If you like a normal no-frills pub this is a place for you. It is so friendly with lots of locals, and the beer is great. We were staying nearby and this was the closest pub to us but even if it hadn’t been we would have kept going back. Thank you for making us feel like a local, and even though there are smarter pubs in the town this was our favourite.

Had a couple of nice beers and the staff were on the whole friendly, however the experience was spoiled by an extremely drunken local crowd who were arm wrestling, seeing how hard they could punch each other in the stomach, openly dealing drugs outside, and invading our personal space by leaning over our food and saying they would have any leftovers!

A real local's pub but with a surprisingly good glass of wine.

My husbands pint was so nice, Volt from Woodfords Brewery we had a second one. Sat outside in the sunshine, sun umbrellas were available. Pleasant bar staff. Good to be back drinking at a pub.a

Visited the pub for a couple of pints whilst in Sheringham for the day. Table service was quick and efficient. The staff were very friendly. Good pint at a reasonable price.

Called in for a drink outside and was approached by a hysterical waitress screaming about the way in I tried to explain that I was in a wheelchair but was asked to leave

Stopped by as hubby likes real ale and real pubs, ended up staying for the evening, very friendly landlord and locals, good enjoyable evening, definitely high reccomendation if you like the same.

A lovely, welcoming, homely place. Will never forget how kind and generous everybody has been xx

Most welcoming pub I’ve ever been to, both staff and locals alike were the most amazing bunch of people I’ve encountered in a long time. If you visit Sheringham I’d highly recommend a visit!

Popped in there for a quick drink. Ended up staying for the whole evening. Great band playing - cockney jock. They got everyone up dancing. Great atmosphere. Would definitely go back in there. Very friendly bar staff.

I visited this pub in 2012 and had an excellent meal, I think there may have been a change of ownership, they no longer do meals although the beer was good (Woodforde's Wherry) there was no atmosphere only seemed to be locals in. I would no longer recommend this place

A local's pub, just taken over. Good range of local beers, no food available at the time, a bit disappointing in that aspect.

Although they didn't have what I drink in stock, the chap behind the bar offered to go to the shop and get me some.

A nice quiet atmosphere in this pub

Much better for being off the seafront as busy so you can actually sit and chat - clearly a local favourite as well as most people we chatted to were local and appreciated the setting. Some real ales available on tap.

Way better than it used to be - good beers, though a little quiet. Edit: Two stars off my last review. Still the place to go for a good pint in Sheringham during the tourist season, but in the off season, whilst the beer is still good, the front bar is very odd. They seem to pride themselves on making the atmosphere so bad they drive out all but a few persistent locals.

Great, traditional, ex-fisher pub, with an impressive range of sophisticated gins.

Terrific pub with a real local feel. Two bars, one noisier than the other, so take your pick. You won't have any trouble determining which is which. Good range of beers available. Have eaten here many times and never been disappointed. Sunny outside seating in summer. Cosy interior in winter.

This used to be a decent, family-orientated pub with a good selection of real ale, a Greek-themed menu, plus all the usual English fare for those less inclined to be adventurous.Sadly, it is now a watering hole for knuckle-dragging Neanderthals, and their screaming Harpies, intent on inebriation, accompanied by the strains of loud, lewd behaviour that resonates until the early hours of the morning, when it spills onto the adjoining narrow streets, in what can only be described as bedlam.I would recommend that anyone with a family, particularly young children, avoid this place like the plague and, if possible, seek accommodation well out of earshot if you value your sleep.The Windham Arms no longer has any redeeming features or qualities and, until the devil gives skating lessons, I will definitely not be returning.

Good, well kept, beer selection

Not knowing the area very well, we were looking at a few different pubs before deciding where to have lunch.The pub itself looked nice and traditional so we popped in to look at the menu and there was no-one else in there (not even anyone having a drink!) which put us off a bit because we do like to see the meals others are eating when we have never eaten in a place before. It was very strange as most of the other pubs we had viewed were fairly busy so we decided to leave and eat elsewhere.

Although the staff were very polite, the food was very disappointing and won’t be going there again to eat

Not eaten here but the beer is well kept and a good menu selection. The ya also have music nights. Well worth a visit when in Sheringham.

Basic little pub.....simple & reasonably priced menu...good for families with "picky" kids that will only eat basics (jackets...pub curry...sandwiches... chilli...pie...lasagne etc)

We nipped in after a walk for some dinner. We were the only folk in there. Kind of weird eating dinner in an empty pub. Fish was small but good. Chips were out of the freezer and undercooked. Go elsewhere for some company.

Went into Windham Arms on Tuesday. Completely empty at 14.00 hrs. Ordered 2 pints of Real Ale £4 per pint - not surprising then that it was empty!! Won’t be going back again.

A couple of us called in for a quick pint while waiting for a take away from the Golden Bowl (next door). A good selection of beers available with small sample bottles by the pumps. Easy to decide which one you might like if you are not too sure of the names.

Beef and bacon burger was absolutely delicious! Staff are friendly & the menu looks really nice. The best food I've had from a pub in Sheringham would defiantly come back.

Had a lovely meal here last week whilst on holiday with friends( highly recommend the steak & ale pie!) Ale is also spot on. Very clean and tidy pub well worth a visit!

We popped into this pub for a quick drink, easy to find. Nice selection of Real ales and well kept. Staff are friendly and the food looked good although we did not eat.

CAMRA rated beer can be found here from Woodforde's and micro brewers also good reasonable priced food off the beaten track well worth the visit.

Pleasant pub near the sea in Sheringhan with outside eating areas which are a bit shabby. Had to wait 45 minutes for a brie and cranberry baguette which was good when it arrived, but a bit too long to wait.

Would like to leave a review but walked out after waiting over an hour for our sandwiches and it was not busy. After reading other reviews maybe we were lucky not to have been served

Buena cerveza, pero la peor comida de la familia han tenido. En seco, carnes frías, patatas fritas, cartón sobresaliente huevos cocidos en aceite, salchichas sospechoso terriblemente cocidas, pan de ajo, trozos de pasta sólida en la lasaña y carne gristly - realmente no recomendaría comer aquí. Nos dieron un 50% de descuento, pero lamento tener que pagar nada ya que fue una experiencia muy desagradable para todo el mundo (de ahí la crítica) y era bastante cara en primer lugar.

Llamamos para tomar un trago. Hay una buena selección de cervezas, de woodford Wherry fue nuestra elección y muy refrescante fue. No estaban comiendo, así que no tengo ni idea de lo que la comida era como pero los precios son razonables.

Este lugar es un poco básico, sin duda no es lo que yo llamaría una gastro-pub, pero buena comida deliciosa a un precio razonable. Sin extras como velas o servicio flouncy camarero, pero que se refleja en el precio.

Food was in the form of fish and chips and a burger, all priced at a pub menu premium at around £10 a go. Fish batter was very dark and the near side of burnt (never should have left the kitchen so quality control failed) and frozen peas hard and looked tired; burger was very herby (I did not ask for a herby burger!), but OK as a handmade item, but could be better dressed - no brioch bun, no lettuce or pickled cucumber, etc. Food needs better presentation and was served on heavy duty low end china. For the price better materials required. No one ever asked if everything was OK, and no one around when we left the back restaurant, and also service was too slow. Decoration was strangely depressing with a black vertical blind stealing the little light there was. Also, we were not reminded about the set menu. That was a big mistake. As previous hoteliers, we know how important respecting the guest by informing them of important knowledge is. Otherwise, seems like a good pub that needs to keep an eye on the food coming out of the kitchen and improve customer experience.

Had Sunday lunch here back in Nov with friends which was excellent. On the back of that we decided to try it again, however not everything was so good!Although the food was of a reasonable standard for £10 the service was severely lacking. After a mix up with the meals, my meal was brought out first and after a while I decided to make a start. However after some shouting from the kitchen and when I'd eaten 3/4 of my dinner, my wife's dinner finally arrived with a lack luster apology.Neither did the bar staff have any idea of customer service and wasn't asked once if we'd enjoyed our meals and if everything was 'ok'!!!!I realise that this is out of season and that mistakes happen, however there is no excuse for shoddy service.

We ate here one evening while we were staying in Sheringham. It was bitterly cold so pub was very quiet - a bit too quiet! Fish and chips were very good - fresh fish was perfectly cooked. The young man who served us was very pleasant and they have a good selection of beers.

We walked past the Windham arms initially but returned having found nowhere to seat 7 of us together in the rest of the town. First impressions were poor with a public loo smell coming from the toilets, but the food was incredible! The lady who served us was friendly and helpful, discussing with the chef to find a suitable dairy-free option for our daughter. The sea bass was beautiful - crispy skin, moist fish, delicious potatoes and vegetables, and a good choice of real ales too. Restaurant standard. Will definitely be making a return visit!

We stumbled upon this little gem today after trying to find somewhere for us all to sit down and eat (8 adults, 6 children) everywhere was full so we were a little reluctant to go in as it was empty, we are glad we did! Not a huge menu which isn't a bad thing, reasonably priced and the food was great. Traditional pub/cafe style. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

This pub used to have a cosy and warm atmosphere with its lovely dark wooden tables and chairs. But now it feels like you're sitting in a beach cafe with the new hideous blue chic furnishings. If I want to go to a cafe there are plenty to find. I want to feel I am in the adult world when sitting in a pub not some child friendly cafe! It's a shame because they do great beers- bitters!!

We were visiting Sheringham on holiday and meeting up with friends and discovered The Windham Arms. The beer here is kept really well, and is cheaper than most of the other pubs in the vicinity. The kitchen was closed when we visited so can't comment on the food. The pub is a bit tired and could do with some decoration but don't let that put you off going.

Nice place where you can try some fish based dishes, and crab salad! I liked the ales, and the prices are more than reasonable. Yes, the place hasn't got the most appealing mood, especially the restaurant area, but overall it has been a nice experience.

The main restaurant / bar is more like a cafe with its blue chic tables all in lines. The public bar however has retained its character. Will try the restaurant next time we visit and see if we can give them the 5 stars.

I'd been to this pub before so was looking forward to a return visit but could not have been more disappointed. The back bar is basically done out for food and was empty and devoid of atmosphere when we visited. The front bar was full of drunks and loud music (on a Sunday night) so sat outside drank our beer and left. Did pass by again later in the week just in case but there were children playing on the pool table at nearly 10 p.m. so gave it a miss.

Some people are put off by the decor but please try the food the chef is amazing, portions are big and good quality for your money. Give it a go.

Called in on speck as wanted something substantial for tea. Not disappointed - cosy dining area, friendly staff and both our meals were cooked to order so waited a while but well worth it. I had chicken Thai curry and my hubby had steak. Absolutely delicious cooked to perfection. So nice and such good value we have booked to return tomorrow night.

I can only - yet - comment on the drinks but Windham is a great pub and the menu looks comprehensive. The staff are friendly and efficient.Well worth a visit if you are in Sheringham.

2 of us in Sheringham for the day. Didn't quite fancy any of the sea front places so asked where sold a good pint and was directed to the Windham Arms. Good choice of well-kept beers and a really nice crab sandwich with generous side salad. Yep

A pretty standard seaside pub. Seems popular with the locals.Can't comment on the food - seems to do the same predictable range of lagers as all the other local pubs and a few southern beers.Ok to call in for for a drink but nothing that would cause you to stay too long.

The food here is outside the normal burger/ fish and chips range. We had mackerel goujons, sea bass, Thai green curry and pork medallions. All dishes were delicious, and cost around £10 each. Would highly recommend.

Amazing breakfast here this morning, kept everyone full till tea time! Excellent scrambled egg, smoked salmon, local sausages and bacon and juicy tomatoes! Children well catered for with a BLT option, and not forgetting good coffee. Always great food and service here

Town centre pub with outdoor seating & enthusiastic folk music entertainment provided in a covered area

We only went in because it was raining, the service was prompt, very friendly & welcoming in a relaxed atmosphere. We got a couple of pints ( a very nice pint too ) logged on to the free wifi & got tempted by the menu. My wife & I both ordered the pan fried sea bass with prawns & capers served with crushed new potatoes & veg. The food arrived promptly & was excellent in every aspect, it certainly had the wow factor. A great pub with very good food & I'll be visiting it again.

Had a really lovely meal. Home made chicken kieve, home made coleslaw, lovely salad but let down by frozen chips. Would have been full marks if not for this.
