Came early for breakfast so we were one of 4 tables occupied. We were greeted by a lovely blonde lady who escorted us to our table. Another blonde lady took our order, she was extremely cold and blunt to the point my children looked at me in shock! A young gentleman brought us our food who was very lovely. Food wise we had 3 full English breakfasts and one kids pancake. It was nice albeit not amazing. Plate was swimming in beans so would have preferred them in a bowl so not to get the rest of the items wet from them. Potatoes were lovely. Kids pancake was a good size portion. Used the bathroom before leaving and was shocked at them. The ladies needs a good deep clean and tidy up.

Visited this place for lunch on the way home from a shopping trip, the first thing we noticed were that the two ladies serving both had very untidy unkempt hair, none of them were wearing any sort of headwear to keep their hair off their faces, the welcome wasn't very warm either, the pies were slightly overdone but hot and the mash was just warm, the pies did not have a lot of flavour to them but there was a noticeable twang to them, possibly mixed herbs not quite sure, the meal was passable but doubt that we would eat there again, the hygiene issue needs to be addressed as we also noticed that the staff were also dragging big bags if potatoes around in between serving although they did put on a a pair of rubber gloves to do this but I doubt they washed their hands after taking the gloves off.

Went for dinner on my wife's birthday. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Firstly after some time and having ordered a not cheap white wine, it was delivered to table by someone who'd never seen a non screw top bottle. When it came back opened, the foil was still around its neck and was warm. Waiter's response was it'll get chilled in the ice bucket !! Secondly don't ever order the rack of ribs. Overcooked, smothered in not very edible sauce and far too big for the plate it was served on. Had to ask for a serrated knife to help uncover the meat !!

Thought we were going to have lunch in an old interesting pub. Wrong. It was all closed up & couldn't see a notice to tell us otherwise. Shame.

Very disappointed! There were 4 of us and the food was not nice. Sausage and mash….mash had lumps and the sausages looked undercooked as were white! Steak & Ale pie….burnt and the inside was dried out like it had been reheated more than once. Beef roast dinner was the worst we had ever had, roast potatoes were burnt! Will never go back there as the customer service was non existent! Not once did someone come to the table to ask if everything was as ok.

Friendly staff. Essentially a bakery with large cafe area. Food expensive for the quality - greasy spoon style. My scrambled egg and salmon came on sourdough bread - which was very thinly sliced and soaked in butter/ margarine. English breakfast came with huge doorstep ‘toast’. But staff friendly, helpful & nice atmosphere in cafe

Stayed here a couple of times and found it nice enough. However, just had a message from them to say that my booking for July has been cancelled (due to overbooking). However, rooms are still available on their website. So, what they mean is, we've cancelled your cheaper advance booking so that we can make more money from the room. I'll not be staying there again...

Just had a roast lamb and all the trimmings and added a cauliflower cheese. Absolutely delicious.!!! I'm not one to waste food but only just managed to eat it all. Freidly staff. Dog friendly pub. Lots of outside seating. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely location, lovely décor, nice to sit out overlooking beach. Food and drink were very nice but the food was a little overpriced. Tuna sandwich was very expensive and looked very bland and small - all that was needed to make the price seem ok would have been a few crisps or side salad on the plate. Little things like this would cost pennies but make the difference in presentation and make the price feel worth it.

Had the best time celebrating a 69th wedding anniversary with family. Lovely Sunday dinner. Beef was perfect and cauliflower cheese to die for. Lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and good service. We all want to go again next Sunday!

We stopped at this pub while doing a circular walk around Stretham. The greeting from the lady behind the bar was perfect. Bring a Sunday it was only a choice of a roast or the basket meals. We sat in the garden at the back and had scampi and chips. The food was excellent and very hot. The service was perfect and attentive.

Coffee was nice and was available in decaf with oat milk so that was good. I ordered the fish finger sandwich which I really fancied to eat and it cost £4.10. When it came I was very underwhelmed. You don't expect amazing food but I'd like a little more for the money. It was just basic white bread with a couple of cheap breaded fish fingers and a few green leaves. No sauce with it, although I helped myself to the tartare sauce sachets it would've been nice if it came with a little pot of it. A side salad and a few crisps would've been nice, and maybe in a nice roll or some thicker bread. I could've done a much better job at home, and it wasn't even very hot. Cost pennies to make so definitely a rip off!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfast was good - not greasy and cooked well. However amazed they had no de caff coffee available. Surely they could get some from the shop floor??!! Also no gluten free bread or toast available. The cafe always feels a little cold and cheerless which is a shame.

Stayed here and ate at their restaurant. Interesting place and food and service was great. Nice views towards London from the terrace. I had the fish and chips which was very good; well cooked and a nice light, not greasy, batter. Not too much that you feel over full. I thought the desserts were a little expensive at £12 for a crème brûlée.
