The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Poor quality food, seriously overpiced. More expensive than five guys with meat quality similar to a burger van. Both kids burgers were burn't. Nobdy around to complain to. Mediocre chicken burger and chips £14!

This place is a dump and plays horrible loud music which doesn’t belong in this area. If he wants to do this, he should open up on Prince of Wales Road

Después de unos pocos números con vale Buyagift (no los recomiendo! ) reservamos en para el té de la tarde en The Granary & bien valió la pena la espera. Los bocadillos eran deliciosos, el pan fresco y el jamón era particularmente bueno. Luego comimos algunos trozos salados, lo que hace una buena adición, el mejor rollo de salchicha que he probado durante años y pastel de cerdo. Los bollos eran grandes y de nuevo delicioso y una variedad de mermeladas para elegir. Terminé llevando el pastel a casa como demasiado lleno para comer, esperando tenerlo un poco más tarde. Con todo, recomiendo a fondo, volveremos!

Booked 2 nights for myself and my daughter as have family 5 mins away so ideal location. The room was awful 🙁 Just a sheet covering the mattress, which was hard, as was the pillows as well as very thin. No teaspoons, dirty floors, window full of cobwebs and thick dust by the side of the beds. Walked into the bathroom and was shocked!! The smell from the toilet was awful, dirty sink and bath, water wouldn’t empty from sink. We showered at my sisters as it was so dirty. After complaining when we arrived the guy said he’ll send housekeeping in there in the morning….couldn’t notice anything different.

For years we have treated ourselves to lunch at the Sandringham Restaurant around Christmas, but since the Deborah Steward company ceased running the restaurant it has gone seriously downhill. This year on 28th December was the nail in the coffin! On arrival, the restaurant was about half full. The apologetic waitress siad there was an hour's wait for any hot food except for soup as they had been very busy. As we didn't want to wait for an hour, we ordered the soup. Ten minutes later we were told all the soup had gone, but we could wait for a different type of soup to be made. Half an hour later, two bowls of very good tomato and basil soup arrived, however the accompanying bread turned out to be a slice of white sliced bread each. It felt like a Candid Camera episode and I felt very sorry for the waitresses dealing with the situation. I hope Queen Camilla doesn't pop in for lunch!

Recently moved to the area, thought we’d try this fish & chip shop, glad we did, fish & chips are delicious & great portion sizes. Highly recommend!

Visited this place for lunch on the way home from a shopping trip, the first thing we noticed were that the two ladies serving both had very untidy unkempt hair, none of them were wearing any sort of headwear to keep their hair off their faces, the welcome wasn't very warm either, the pies were slightly overdone but hot and the mash was just warm, the pies did not have a lot of flavour to them but there was a noticeable twang to them, possibly mixed herbs not quite sure, the meal was passable but doubt that we would eat there again, the hygiene issue needs to be addressed as we also noticed that the staff were also dragging big bags if potatoes around in between serving although they did put on a a pair of rubber gloves to do this but I doubt they washed their hands after taking the gloves off.

Went for dinner on my wife's birthday. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Firstly after some time and having ordered a not cheap white wine, it was delivered to table by someone who'd never seen a non screw top bottle. When it came back opened, the foil was still around its neck and was warm. Waiter's response was it'll get chilled in the ice bucket !! Secondly don't ever order the rack of ribs. Overcooked, smothered in not very edible sauce and far too big for the plate it was served on. Had to ask for a serrated knife to help uncover the meat !!

Thought we were going to have lunch in an old interesting pub. Wrong. It was all closed up & couldn't see a notice to tell us otherwise. Shame.

Very disappointed! There were 4 of us and the food was not nice. Sausage and mash….mash had lumps and the sausages looked undercooked as were white! Steak & Ale pie….burnt and the inside was dried out like it had been reheated more than once. Beef roast dinner was the worst we had ever had, roast potatoes were burnt! Will never go back there as the customer service was non existent! Not once did someone come to the table to ask if everything was as ok.

Was informed food would be late, offered alternatives, food arrived and we were given complimentary drinks and bread as accompaniment. Thank you to Lauren for her excellent customer service x

4 friends met for lunch. 2 had pan fried fresh skate with chips and peas. Gorgeous skate, top of the range chips. 2 enjoyed perfect jacket potatoes, one with thousands of prawns, one with beans and cheese. Perfect home cooked food. Friendly staff. Great value for money. Will definitely be back.

Cosy place, good for the dogs you even get the space, service a little slow and unattentive but food was fine and otherwise good

Stayed here a couple of times and found it nice enough. However, just had a message from them to say that my booking for July has been cancelled (due to overbooking). However, rooms are still available on their website. So, what they mean is, we've cancelled your cheaper advance booking so that we can make more money from the room. I'll not be staying there again...

Excellent local pub with good refreshing draft beers and the particlarly tasty baguettes with chips were ideal fare after a long walk.
