Stopped here for a quick bite in the evening whilst passing through. Limited menu, I had pie and chips. It was hot and tasty so no complaints. I sat at a small corner table and when I went to put my bag on the floor my elbow got caught up in a whole nest of cobwebs that ran floor to ceiling. Moved to a different table and when I looked at the carpet it was glistening with slug slime! Yes you read that right!! Trails and trails of slug slime all over the carpet. I went to put my bag on the chair next to me. The chairs are covered with faded pink felt like fabric that would have been all the rage in the 70s but it was thick with long hairs all trapped in the fabric. The window sills were covered with dead flies. The bar man - am I allowed to say man in these politically correct times?? The bar person / server was however very friendly, welcoming and polite. Very depressing place, definitely needs a clean and makeover.

This was our second meal here, food was excellent and well presented as before. Staff always friendly and obliging. Sat in the garden over looking the river, so idilic, not a sound from the busy Fakenham Rd. Will no doubt return again before the summer ends.

We visited the Bridge Inn having heard good things but were bitterly disappointed. Very limited menu, understandable during these times, portion sizes were good but the food was microwaved and tasteless. Sadly we won’t be going back.

Very clicky as my roll had half the amount of pork in it given to the locals served in front of me. Cold flavourless pork £6.49, no gravy For a burger bap sized . Quite underwhelming.

Booked meal, found staff chaotic. Lots of people going behind bar and unsure why. Was not impressed that only one member of staff wore a mask! One staff member even lit a cigarette in the bar area. Also breach of gdpr by asking people to leave their names and mobile numbers on a sheet of paper by the door!! Was told might not be any chips and was not impressed at this due to 75% of food had chips and this was a Friday evening. I don’t think anyone or anything was particularly clean. Food was ok and new girl serving was only one wearing a mask and polite. Will not visit again.

A pleasant walk took us to this lovely pub where we sat outside and had a welcome drink. Very friendly and accommodating staff. We did wonder whether there would be any free tables, only to find the pub virtually empty...why? because someone inconsiderate allowed the main road to be closed for resurfacing. As a result, the pub lost virtually all their custom and revenue. You would have thought out of goodwill and consideration for others, the roadworks could have been delayed. I trust the pub will be fully compensated, as they were apparently supposed to be fully booked. We will gladly visit again and offer our support. Shame on those responsible for ruining the pubs weekend.

We live locally and in the 3 years that we’ve been here, this pub has changed hands numerous times. It has real potential to be a really decent pub, big beer garden and lovely settings. However the service and quality of food really let it down. No friendliness or welcoming from the staff and food is mediocre at best. We’ve agreed to knock it on the head and won’t visit anymore. Such a shame as could be a real gem and you’d think in the current climate they’d want customers but obviously not.

What a smashing hidden gem in the gorgeous Norfolk countryside! Not only is this place warm, friendly and bursting with character but the family that run this pub are amazing, they couldnt do enough for us to ensure we had a lovely time. Myself and my daughter, grandchildren and friends stayed here for 2 nights end of Aug 2020. I stayed in Room 2, the place is full of history, you can feel it but the rooms were clean, tidy and everything you need for a short stay. If youve forgotten something, no problem, let the staff know and they will even go out and buy it! We had a very fussy 6 year old in our party and twice, they dashed out to shop to cater for his fussy eating habits! Amazing dedication. The breakfast was one of the best fry ups Ive had in years, totally recommend it. We also ate for evening meals and they cater for all tastes, even whipped up some scrambled egg on request that wasnt on the menu! The feel of the place is welcoming, they have a huge beer garden where they occasionally have a dj or band on weather permitting, If your worried about Social Distancing, no problem, they even have an outside loo so you can limit your contacts! They seated us in our own area so we didnt have to mask up once we were seated. Oh I forget to mention. This place is now Nationally Famous for is OUTSTANDING Fisheries, They have 3 possibly four lakes/canals to fish from. You must ring in advance for details though like all decent Fisheries, they have rules etc but WOW what a place. Our group saw some VERY LARGE fish being caught! They were BIG! Overall, a fabulous, family run pub with everything you would expect from Norfolk. If your thinking of paying them a visit, there rooms are limited so book early. Rachel, the Owner and Landlady is very welcoming. We cant wait to go back, what a gem of a find.

My lasagne was anaemic, dry and tough. My husband’s steak and ale ‘pie’ comprised a lazy puff pastry top on lack-lustre meat and gravy, with oh-so-plain veg and spuds. More care in the presentation of food and a greater respect for paying customers is required.

Terrible experience. They got our food order wrong and then were extremely rude when we asked them to amend it. The staff were not very helpful and the food was mediocre. There were bits of paper in the food. Which makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen, either that or the staff put it there because we complained.

After a couple of excellent meals at The Bridge I deceided to book again for Father's day. We reserved a table in the bar area which is dog friendly and ordered our meals. Three roasts and a Steak. The service and food was excellent as always and we were made to feel very welcome by the manager and his staff. Both my parents are in there 80s and my mum complimented the chef on 'The best Apple pie she has ever eaten'. Our dog was spoilt by the locals as usual and I'm sure even he looks forward to the next visit.

Came here for Father’s Day after being so many times before only this time the service was poor the food was nice but tiny we went home and I had to cook! I’m gluten free which was stated at the time of booking and usually the chef comes out explains what I can and can’t have and everything is usually good. This time the waitress said I can have what is marked on the menu that’ll be just olives then so asked if I could speak to the chef again and I don’t usually have a problem here nope she went and asked if I could have a roast dinner. So roast beef it was upon arriving to the table it had a yorkie on that I was originally told I couldn’t have so I asked again to make sure it was gluten free came back to be told yes. Then 1 minute later my plate was taken away as it wasn’t gluten free. This has lost all faith in there ability to cater for me now. I explained the the manager who has apparently gone back to sort out after old management he didn’t apologise give an explanation or anything once we were ready to pay after waiting at the bar for 10 minutes he had already served 2 people before me and then got the waitress to serve me. Says it all. After being here so many times in the last 6 months I can say I will not be coming back in the future.

Very good parking, easily accessible and tonight they had 80s music playing in the background. Not an extensive menu but plenty to choose from. Son choose plain burger with hand cut chips (£0.25) extra and fried onions (£0.50) extra and both worthy of the money. Husband had the Mexican burger which comes with lots of HOT peppers, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, the 2 extras above plus coleslaw (£0.25). I had the Steak and Ghost Ship Ale puff pastry pie with fries and peas - lovely gravy - with Coke Zeroes all round (husband having a pint of it and 3 scopes of ice cream to help with heat!!). Came to £42 all in which was reasonable because portion sizes were very good. I would recommend it nice touches of paper straw and flowers on the table.

My friend and I met for lunch. The staff very friendly and welcoming. We ordered our food and had to wait quite a while. We were not in a rush so no problem and realised the fish and chips had to be cooked fresh. However, we were disappointed. I had ordered fish pie which was quite tasty but dry as it had obviously been overheated and was too hot to eat initially. There were three different vegetables which I suspect were left over from the previous day as they were not particularly fresh. My friend who had fish and chips found her fish slightly over cooked and therefore dry. The restaurant was nicely laid out and had two lovely log burners at each end of the restaurant. I wish that we lived nearer so we could visit weekly as we couldn't fault the meal or presentation. Service was excellent, enjoyed some LOL which was nice. Desserts are also homemade , unfortunately, they had sold out of the lemon cheese cake which is my favourite but the sticky toffee pudding was very light. Staff not particularly attentive but polite enough. The food to start was fine, I had the brie and my husband had the whitebait. For main meal I chose pork tenderloin with seasonal vegetables and requested new potatoes...it arrived with mash but I can cope with that, the pork was undercooked..actually barely cooked. The waitress apologised and took it away, when it was brought back it was still not cooked by this time I just couldn't eat it. Although we weren't charged for my meal our night was spoiled, didn't even finish the bottle of wine we'd got. After complaining again we got all the food knocked off the bill and the waitress was very apologetic. After purchasing a voucher from Groupon, my partner and I ventured to the Bridge at lenwade. Our experience is one that I hope we never have again. The service was awful and might I suggest you send your staff on a course on how to greet and treat customers. After finally being sat at the worst table possible { the rest of the restaurant being empty} along with the large green bottles! Yes there were several, We were asked if we would like any starters to which we replied no thank you, but we may have desert. We were given our wine that was part of the deal, a jug of water and 2 cleanish glasses and our cokes and the desert menu? We ordered our steaks and there we waited for a total of 45 minutes. Finally our meals arrived, not good not good is all that came to mind as we looked at it. The chips home made were dripping in fryer oil, which was black. the onion rings were rock hard along with the bullet peas. The tomato needed assistance to hold its self together. We did try a piece of steak it seemed as if it had survived the cooking experience that the rest of the food had endured. At this point we arose and ask to speak to the manager whom appeared from the kitchen and turned out to be the chef. I proceeded to explain that the food sitting in front of us would not qualify for dog food. It had been over cooked and the fryers were in desperate need of cleaning. The manager replied well I don't know what has happened I cooked one a minute ago and that seemed fine. As for the fryers I cleaned them this morning. I replyed to her please don't try and tell me they are clean, the black dirty oil dripping from them tells another story. We left at this point and will never return. I have contacted Groupon whom after a few issues have now refunded me.

First impression was a bit out dated, unloved & in need of a lot of attention, staff lovely & tried to be very helpful. Arrived lunchtime & shown to our room round the back & through a rather tatty area. 4 bedrooms share one full bathroom plus another separate toilet. Shower was rather pathetic, not much more than a dribble of water. No towels in room & had to ask 3 times throughout the afternoon/ evening before we got any and they were still damp. We were given three towels; one tiny hand towel and two slightly larger towels that barely wrapped around us. Window frames had tape over some bits as they were so rotten, window was held open with a block of wood, paper peeling off the walls & ceiling, pillows very hard and uncomfortable, mattress very old & uncomfortable. Had an evening meal, salmon for me which was undercooked in middle & fish pie for my partner which had hardly any fish. I sent my salmon back to just get a bit more cooking but they did a whole new piece of salmon which was also undercooked in middle. On the plus side the starters were lovely, Brie wedges and scallops. Breakfast was a fry up (very greasy). We were booked in for 3 nights but only stayed for one. Very disappointed. It has lovely cared for gardens & what looks like a nice fishing lake, pity I can't say the same about the accommodation. Maybe it is more suited to people who just want a basic bed for the night & aren't bothered about the comfort.

We may have been unlucky but it fell short in many directions. The staff were friendly and very nice. What a disappointment. There were two steaks served. One twice as thick as the other, they were both very thin. The chips were awful. Seemed that they had been boiled in oil. .Not in keeping with other restaurants in this competitive market We will never go back.

Yesterday I visited this pub for lunch with my sister and mother. Mum's meal was lovely, although the only veg served with the tenderloin mash was mushrooms! My sister's scampi was also good, but the chips she and I were served were clearly warmed up, not even re-fried. But the pièce de résistance was the raw chicken (not just underdone - partly cooked and partly raw)in my hunter's chicken! Not being charged for the meals but for the drinks alone really won't cut the mustard. My advice: avoid like the plague. Also overpriced.

What a little gem.. we booked The Bridge on a groupon voucher, which included a one course meal... yes, the pub has shared facilities, for 4 rooms (not the Norwich football team) but there is also a separate single toilet... the rooms indeed could do with a spruce up, which is not uncommen in these olde worlde buildings, and being under fairly new management, this will be a 'work in progress'.. But the linen was crisp and white, the staff pleasant and unobtrusive and the room clean. My husband and I had room 4, which was huge, there was even a big leather sofa to curl up on.. plenty of drawer and wardrobe space for a family of four, tea/coffee making tray with complimentary bottled water, and full to/sky set up....... we had a relaxing drink, and a game of cards on the decked area to the front of the pub.. every person who arrived greeted us with a 'good afternoon' the locals were so friendly, even Danny tried to show us a card trick, appallingly may I add... the food was delicious, and the inclusive full english set us up for a day exploring this beautiful area before a family reunion at a relatives house.. having family in this area, and now we have found The Bridge, we will return.. I've not even mentioned the lake, the swans, water lilies, the lawned seating area, picnic tables ... needless to say, don't listen to the negatives.. take the plunge like we did.. and have a fab break, just like we did...

We stupidly bought a Groupon voucher for this "Inn". It is not an inn or hotel in the usual sense of the word. It is more like a hostel. Eight, yes, I said 8, people are expected to share one bathroom and two toilets. We arrived and discovered this and did not stay. There are no ensuite facilities - would you expect to check something so basic in this day and age? Groupon did refund us by way of vouchers. However, The Bridge still cashed the vouchers so had the money for nothing. It did look clean and we had a decent glass of wine in the bar while we searched on the tablet for another B&B.

Came here on a deal through Groupon for Fish and Chips. The fish and chips was actually very good and we enjoyed, especially the chips went down well. The starter maybe less so. We had Brie fritters covered in nuts. Which wasnt too bad a taste. When you think of brie fritters though you think of lovely oozing brie. On this ocassion what we got was hollow brie fritters! Hardly anything inside at all. Was it horrible=no. Could it have been better=def yes. Service =very good. Perhaps couldve been quicker clearing plates etc but she was also behind the bar i think! Quirky waitress, we liked her. Give it a go and decide for yourselves..

We used a Groupon for 2 steak meals. I can't eat meat, so the Chef came to our table to discuss Fishy options and made some mouth-watering suggestions. I had 2 fillets of cod, marinated in a butter and lemon sauce and grilled to perfection. Served with buttery sliced potatoes and an interesting selection of fresh and beautifully cooked vegetables. It was one of the tastiest fish meals I've had. The steak, medium rare, very tender and full of flavour, was served with amazing chips, crispy battered onion rings and vegetables. This was a first class meal with very good service. The chef came to check that all was well with our meals. Which it was! A return visit is already booked. Disabled access is good, the background music sufficiently muted to not be intrusive and there is free WiFi available. No disabled loo, owing to the age of the building and a shallow step up to the normal loos.

Stopped here on the spur of the moment. Was given a verypleasant welcome. My wife ordered our lunch and we had to wait a little while. This was no bother as the food was freshly cooked (not micro waved). So, it came to the table really hot and nicely presented. I had the scampi and this was the first time in at least 40 years. It was beautifully cooked, not greasy but dry and crispy coated. The chips were chunky and home made and were as chips should be. My wife had the chicken bites. They were huge pieces of chicken, I think whole fillets of chicken. Beautifully tender and really tasty. Give this pub a visit it is worth it

Should be restaurant only and should not offer rooms as such an incredibly poor standard.Terrible will not return.

I cant comment on the accommodation, but we had a nice meal here on our way from Fakenham to Norwich. I had not seen the 'two courses for £10' so was very pleasantly surprised when it came to paying. There was nobody there when we arrived and only a few came in during our meal, but the atmosphere was pleasant, the service polite and speedy, the food well presented and very edible. I imagine that during the summer it is a fine place to rest by the water with a beer and a snack.

If great food and a warm welcome are your thing, this is the place for you. Dinner was first class and the breakfast - cooked to order - was amazing. If you want the gossip, share a pint of real ale with the locals who gather in the bar for "early doors". Don't be put off by the hall leading upstairs and make sure to ask for room one which is adjacent to the large/spotlessly clean (shared) bathroom. The bed itself was comfortable with pristine sheets, but the room itself could benefit from a little tlc. All in all fantastic value for money; well done team, the whole atmosphere reflects your enthusiasm.

Overnight stay here recently was lovely. The landlady and staff are very friendly, warm welcome and nothing too much trouble. Setting is beautiful with the fishing lakes. Food was amazing. Rooms although a little tired were comfortable and clean. The new landlady has plans to update these. Will be having another trip here later in the year so look forward to seeing the changes!

We booked to stay at the Bridge Inn for 2 nights. On arrival the staff could not have been more welcoming and even helped to carry our bags up to the room. We had paid for dinner on the first night and the food was as good as the staff- both brilliant and no way did we want to eat anywhere else on the second night! The room was a little tired but was clean, warm, comfortable and a good size. I understand that the new owner does have plans to upgrade the room and she has already made great improvements to the outside of the building and grounds. Lots of locals were eating and drinking there - always a good sign

The reason we went to The Bridge Inn was because we got a deal from Groupon, Bed & Breakfast for 2 nights with a evening meal on the first. The main reason we went there was because they accepted us with our 2 dogs. The evening meal was nice and tasty and we ate there the following night as well. The food was very good for Pub Food and a good price. The room we had was a nice size, clean and warm. the only thing we were not happy with was that we had to share the bathroom and toilets. The rooms are big enough to have there own on Sweet bathroom and toilets. So a bit of modernization is required. The pub has 2 big Lakes that are used for fishing competitions etc. I would say this pub is ideal for fishermen who want to go away and have an enjoyable weekend fishing. Really enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Greeted by a friendly member of staff, who was doing the bar and waitressing, as it was very quiet, being the day after a bank holiday. We were there to use a groupon voucher we had received and it was very good value for money. 2 glasses of wine and 2 steaks for £20 both wine and steaks were if good quality.Found out from the waitress that it had recently changed hands and I wish them well. The pub offers accommodation, fishing in their three lakes and you can buy day passes, a large garden with plenty if seating. Did have a dessert of lemon cheesecake, but wouldn't have it again.

The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful to all of your needs, very knowledgeable about the surrounding area offering advice on areas to visit. The food was locally sourced and cooked to a high standard, an excellent selection of ales and wine were available. The rooms which offer tea making facilities and sky TV are spacious, clean and comfortable as were the bathroom facilities. The fishing lakes are beautiful and add to the tranquil setting. We have had an extremely relaxed break and would definitely recommend for a quiet retreat to recharge your batteries.

Great food, home cooked roast and generous portions add up to a great meal. Excellent service and lovely, polite staff. Other food available from the menu. 2 Log burners giving off a lovely warm glow on a dark, cloudy, rainy Easter Sunday - could have settled in all day! Good selection of beers, wines and spirits at typical prices - well worth a visit, we're booked in again next Sunday with friends!

We enjoyed a one night Groupon offer and can recommend the Bridge Inn for a relaxing break. It is ideally positioned for a walking/cycling break with the Marriott's Way and beautiful river views of the Wensum Way right on the doorstep. The bar and restaurant are cosy, comfortable and newly decorated with fresh flowers on the tables and window sills. The food is fresh, delicious, nicely presented and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, helpful and doing a great job in renovating this lovely pub. There is a new patio and large grass area, which is secure for children and overlooks the fishing lakes. The website accurately describes the accommodation so there are no surprises. The stairs to the rooms and the rooms themselves are newly carpeted, the shared bathroom is large, newly decorated and very clean. There is Sky TV and tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms which are very clean. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the bed linen is new and spotless. The rooms are in need of redecoration and when this is done this pub will be perfect. However, even without this being done, we're planning to visit again soon.

We had a spontaneous trip out and stopped at the Maltsters Pub , we were hungry so decided to order the Roast Beef. Oh my God was it good, the Beef melted in the mouth and it looked as good as it tasted. Staff were friendly and did their very best to look after us while we were there. We will be coming back to try more, my waistline may not thank me though. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of my food as I was hungry and tucked in!

We had a fantastic birthday lunch for my Mum. Staff members Poppy, Nicole, Carolyn and Abbie were very helpful and attentive, which made the visit very enjoyable! I had the signature burger with a side of halloumi fries; both were fantastic. My mum had the steak pie, which you can’t go wrong with, as it comes with a good portion of veg. My dad had the toad in the whole which was from the specials; it does lack veg, however he said it was great. For dessert, we had a sticky toffee pudding and a trio of dessert which we shared among us. They also made a board with a small bit of brownie that said Happy birthday on. Like i have said, the service was great and so was the food!!
