Welcoming, friendly pub. We stayed at 6 Little Wells which was also beautiful. Pub just a few min walk from cottage serving food 6-8pm - menu varies day to day. It is what it is - good honest homecooked food. If you want posh drive a bit down the road to South Creake but pay alot more.

This is a truly local "local". On Saturday, it opened at 4pm. We arrived shortly after that and it was well frequented by villagers, which was a healthy sign! The decor is pleasantly traditional and various local beers and spirits are stocked. The Norfolk Wherry beer was tasty, as was the Norfolk gin. However, if ordering an artisan gin, it would be advisable to check that you are happy with the price of it, especially as it is served with Fevertree tonic. The round for 4 people cost over £30. The staff were friendly and did explain why the round was so pricey.

We popped in at 5 pm to have a look at the menu for later but no one seemed to know what would be on the menu until the cook wrote it out at 6pm😀. However when we pressed the bar staff for some idea they disappeared & returned with a scrap of paper saying chicken and salmon would be on. There seemed a reluctance to encourage dining however as their was no where else nearby we returned at 6pm & enjoyed a very tasty home cooked meal & at £12 good value, good service and delicious real ale. Perhaps they don't feel a need to sell themselves & are happy with local trade rather than us tourists?

Return visit whilst on holiday. Good for standard pub food and pizzas, and a change to the more expensive gastropubs in the area, but feel they could still reduce their prices a bit more for the type of food offered. Restaurant area is spacious and suitable for families and dogs. Good portions.

Used to come here when under previous ownership and loved it but it’s completely different now which is a shame. The food is separate from the pub so you order separately and pay that way too which is odd but perfectly fine if you’re just looking for cheerful pub grub. Mostly nuggets/scampi in a basket set up but plentiful and my children were very happy. Don’t except fine dining and you’ll be ok. Good beer, cosy seating, fine after a busy beach day.

We visited one early evening (currently only opens 4-8 pm daily except Tuesday, and lunchtime Sundays) - good social distancing measures. Pretty basic inside, and some seating outside but not the prettiest yard. Limited menu as a result of Covid consists of "basics" such as lasagne, fish and chips, Margerita pizza etc. They also do a takeaway service. Friendly bar staff (as in most places in Norfolk). Obviously a locals pub with a reasonable selection of drinks - only pub in North and South Creake. OK to pop in for a quick one - maybe once we are free of the virus it will "soften up" the inside - currently bare wood tables. We'll give it another try next year when we are staying nearby.

We visited this comfortable friendly village pub while on holiday in Burnham Market. Nicely refurb'd by the new landlord. Currently only serving food from Thursday onwards. We went on a Thursday evening when it was nicely full. Dog friendly. Good beer (Wherry & T Taylor Landlord). A good menu - enough choice but not too much to preclude proper ingredients. Our tasty meal was cooked and presented well - very enjoyable, and reasonably priced. The landlord has a personal connection to the Hurricane propellor above the bar

We were staying in North Creake, within walking distance of the pub and it is a shame it is not better used, which appears to be why it is not often open. We went on Friday evening and it was absolutely heaving with most people eating both inside and outside. Because it is being refurbished there is a pop up kitchen in the garden/car park. Suzy runs this and she is certainly an excellent chef. She had here specials on and then her normal things, like lasagne, burgers etc. I had fishcakes and they were really good. Not expensive. Took a while because there were so many people, but by 20.00 after people had finished and so had happy hour, it certainly thinned out.We popped in again on Sat lunchtime and bar 3 or 4 locals there was no-one there.Tried to go back to eat on the Thursday evening but the pop-up wasn't open so didn't bother with the pub. They have good food, good beer, just all a bit strange.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to discover that Sunday lunch at the Jolly Farmers, North Creake, was, in every way, extremely good, and I have no hesitation in recommending it, especially if you like good home cooking. Not that we were expecting it to be a failure, because it had been recommended to us by several friends. Our surprise was more to do with our repeated disappointment at the poor quality generally of North Norfolk pub grub (and grub is just about the correct description of so many of the pubs, restaurants and hotels in this part of the county, a fact that astounded me when one considers the agricultural heritage of the area.Unlike so many establishments we have tried over the years (and found to have gradually deteriorated), what we like about the Jolly Farmers was the simplicity of the menu, the quality of the food, including splendid fresh vegetables, and fine delicious meat. This pub does not have a huge dining area, but when we visited it was busy and had a warm and friendly atmosphere. The different meals we saw served up all looked appetising and our choice of beef roast and lamb roast beautifully cooked and we considered was great value for money.Unlike so many other places we have tried, this was wholesome good home cooking, a place where the chef’s main concern often appears to be to simply out-do the menu of a nearby establishment with a mis-match of ingredients that rarely work, serve up chips that are saturated in grease, limp salads and sickly sweets – and then charge the earth. It was indeed a refreshing change to eat at an establishment where you did not feel you were deliberately being ripped off because you happen to drive a Range Rover and did not advertise itself as a gastro-pub, a term I have always found rather strange as I automatically link the sword gastro with enteritis.Keep up the good work, you jolly farmers and keep providing meals that do justice to Norfolk’s superb local produce.

Three f us ordered the French fish soup from the specials list, and all agreed that it was disappointing, surprisingly lacking the real punch of flavour we had expected. Our starters were served with large hunks of bread, which was excellent. We had more luck with our main meal choices, which all proved delicious, and portion sizes were generous, meaning that 4 of us only had room to share 2 desserts between us. Our bill came to less than £50 per couple, including a round of drinks from the bar, very reasonable.

Booked for 7pm dinner for two, as they do not open until 7pm. Arrived 1 minute past 7pm and both bars were heaving (it was July). Young girl took beer order and pointed us at table for two but made no mention that we had to order at bar. Tables are crammed into bar so that the server who brought the food had to push through lots of people jammed up at the bar. No thought as to layout or suitability of the bar room for tables.Eventually after sitting waiting for a while, we worked out to go to bar to order food. My beer was parked on the bar among other drinks, and barman didn't know if it was mine but suggested I took it!Ordered food, which did arrive in timely manner. Food was OK (not "good", just OK) - braised lamb was very fatty and small portions. Potatoes and veg were good.We had asked for jug of water on table but never arrived, and so after 15 minutes when we took a carafe and two glasses from adjacent table the proprietor swooped over immediately (before I had sat down) and told us off! "If you want water, ask at the bar"! We pointed out that we had and it never arrived - no apology or explanation, so took that as a reprimand! Place was very busy all evening but couldn't face trying to get a pudding, so paid up and left to find somewhere else to have a pud. Proprietor obviously not worried about abysmal service, he has enough customers anyway.

We visited for a special Birthday lunch last Sunday 29th November.Firstly young lady on bar was not very friendly/chatty when we went in,we ordered our drinks and looked at menu boards, second lady came out and was chatting to bar staff and we asked about a rather lovely pate we had had once before, the second lady who we presume was the Chef said rudely"pate?what about the pate"?!we politely asked again if it was available?"no!only when I make it"!a polite "no-sorry not today"would've done.We placed our order and waited 25 minutes for 2 main courses,my Partners venison sausage was good,my fish pie was overpriced at £12.50 and was watery and bland and the pastry was burnt and bitter, the veggies we shared were luke warm (and Brussels with fish?????-no)so Birthday lunch ruined,no one bothered to ask if everything was ok,POOR SERVICE,RUDE CHEF,BURNT AND LUKE WARM FOOD,EXPENSIVE!

We stumbled upon this pub by accident on the way to another pub, but decided to have a look in for future reference. We ended up staying and eating and I'm so glad we did as it was a really good find. It's an old fashioned, quaint and welcoming pub. There wasn't a lot of choice on the menu board but what we had was delicious and so plentiful we had no room for pudding. They are extremely dog friendly too which is a bonus if you have any 4-legged family members.

Visited for Sunday roast. Prices quite high, even for North Norfolk, quality OK but not outstanding, quantity quite disappointing. A couple of slices of meat, three halves of roast potato and two vegetables served separately, one of which was not to my taste. It's a real disappointment to me because this place has a good reputation and is the type of establishment I like to support. Might go again just to see if my visit was an off day.

We visited over the August bank holiday. The openning hours are a bit restrictive so would check before you go. However there was a warm welcome and great food.

Very busy country pub serving the usual range of pub grub plus a few specials.Dining is in three rooms with order at the bar service from menus on the wall. We had a range of main courses and everything as well presented and well cooked. The desserts were possibly the bet part of the meal. Quite expensive for the type of food offered but overall a good experience.

got off to a bad start - ordered the 1/2 pint of prawns and only 10 rocked up with nice big space in top of glass - so as they say you don't get a second chance to make a 1st impression. Although my mate had the spicy crayfish starter and had loads grrr. Mains were good all round, wine and beer very good and price not bad either.

Spent most of Sunday trying to find a local pub which served food after 3.30 - most where closed (strange is it not still summer time and holiday period?). Glad we found this great local not far from Fakenham (where we stayed) - Good service, great beer and the food was excellent!. The staff were really cheerful and obviously a hit with the locals who started to arrive as we departed. Dog friendly (which is also nice) and a cosy atmosphere - The "Woodfordes Wherry" was the best I had tasted ( sign of a good cellar) - we will be back to try the accommodation next time.

Went there twice with a large family in tow (grandparents, toddler etc). On the first day we noticed the sign that said it didn't open until 6pm. We were early so drove on. A couple of days later we drove through North Creake again, this time at 8pm. Closed again!

My wife and I went for a meal at the Jolly Farmers in North Creake, an attractive village near Burnham Market, last Friday evening. Our first impression was of a busy traditional pub with an emphasis on a food menu which is superior to the normal fare. It is owned and run by Adrian and Heather assisted by their young staff, all of whom we found to be friendly and efficient. The menu, chalked on blackboards around the bar, has a permanent list of available dishes supplemented by a specials board which changes daily apparently and displays a pleasing originality. We both chose the pigeon and bacon salad accompanied by a lump of warm loaf to start and I had the chicken and ham hock pie while my wife went for the salmon and crayfish with hollandaise sauce for mains, which was accompanied by a dish of seasonal vegetables. We each enjoyed both of our courses very much and saved room for puddings, cherry brownie with ice cream and apple and gooseberry crumble, which were also delicious. The mixture of locals and tourists made for a good atmosphere and we had a thoroughly pleasant evening.

This proper pub is an asset to this part of North Norfolk for regulars and visitors alike, there is always a friendly face and and quality food for the most discerning Farmer or casual visitor, Ive never had a bad pint and the wines are extraordinarily good, don't take my word for it give them a try, don't drink it all though we will be back soon.

My wife's parents who live locally recommended The Jolly Farmer and have been coming Week after Week for the last few decades. The wholesome Pub food is ordered off menus around the bar at the bar: this gives a certain relaxed air compared to say the wonderful Orange Tree at Thorhman or the Host in Burnham. The bill is considerably less than the competition on the coast ( 10 minutes max) and frankly the cooking is probably a little better. We went with lots of well behaved children who were made very welcome.

8 of us had booked for Sunday lunch on a recommendation from the owners of the property we were renting nearby for a week. We did look in thru the windows first and wondered how we might all fit in as it is tiny. We had the largest table in the place that sat 8 - 4 of which were on a bench seat. We had a warm welcome and drinks ( incl. some very good real ale beers) served promptly. There was a good selection of starters incl. the fattest asparagus that I have ever eaten. Mains were the usual fayre that you would expect for a Sunday lunch and our vegetarian contented herself with a crayfish salad. Reviews of the meat were mixed - the beef was very tender and tasty but the port described as bland. We did not get the usual mix of veg but just cauliflower cheese and red cabbage - both perfectly acceptable but odd. - No Greens. Puds were excellent with the ginger sponge coming out tops. Service was excellent.- friendly and helpful. The place had a homely atmosphere to it.

Stopped off at the Jolly Famers for lunch. Friendly landlord with good qualiy beer /ale. Lots of food on offer, everything from home made soup and sandwiches to a large number of specials on the board in the bar. We went for Welsh Rarebit, Brie and Bacon Panini, Ploughman's and two Fish Stew - all homemade, fresh and good value. All went down a treat, but only small criticism would be the skin left on the fish which did spoil the dish. Despite that would recommend this friendly pub

Had been to the farmers market at Creake Abbey and decided to try here for lunch. Went into the pub and there were only a couple of tables free. Went through to what we assume is the main bar and were told by what we think was the landlord that babies are not allowed in that bit and that we had to go in the other bit. My issue was not that babies were not allowed in the main bar. I totally accept that some people don't want kids around when they eat. What I did object to was the way it was said, very curt and rude, and that my daughter is 3 clearly not a baby. We went through to the area we were allowed in and there were two tables one reserved and one free. The free table sat six was made of heavy oak and was pushed right up against the bench on one side. There was not really room to pull it out so we would of had to have sat in a line facing a wall. After being made to feel totally unwelcome we left and went to the White Horse in Brancaster Staithes a wonderful pub that has polite staff, good beer and food and is child friendly.I am sure the Jolly Farmers is a great pub but after being so rudely made to feel unwelcome we will never be returning.

We had a warm welcome from the landlord and the locals who were sitting at the table next to us. There was some well kept Wherry and plenty of options for us veggies to eat. A gem.

Great food but absolutely dreadful service. Few customers but very slow to take orders and deliver drinks. Very sad as it let's itself down by the service and waiting time.

Probably my worst WS meal ever. 3 sausages almost burnt, they were tasteless and well overcooked which I said to the server who grinned at me. The chips as usual most were hard and inedible, peas hard. Served in a bowl with gravy all over the chips. WS has had a problem with hard chips for months, I have complained to staff and emailed head office to no avail. Thats it I AM NOT eating at a WS any more.

Ignore this place visited Bank Holiday Monday. Bad atmosphere no welcome and then 2 awful cappuccinos. Food average and very poor service even witnessed 2 examples of rudeness to customers.

Two adults and two dogs enjoyed our weekend at the GTI. From arrival, the personalised touches really made for a memorable experience- homemade cakes, gin and tonic in the suite, relaxed but efficient service and delightfully presented accommodation. The pub and restaurant is wonderful, the food is exceptional. The service was wonderfully attentive and relaxed, the prices were good value. We ate in the restaurant and the pub, both menus were superb. We visited beaches, ran around the Downs, shopped in Burnham Market and Thornham Farm shops.
