Made to feel like a leper when we walked in by I assume locals just staring. My 13 year old daughter left the door open, to which one of them got up and slammed the door. Was told they'd put 2 small round tables together in the middle of the room for three of us. Felt so uncomfortable we left. Was just like the scene in American werewolf in London, amazed someone wasn't playing darts. Avoid, go to one of the chips shops instead!

My partner and I visited The Marine Bar in Hunstanton on Monday for my birthday, a place I’d come to every year with my parents for holiday when i was growing up. It holds a lot of sentimental value for me, but unfortunately, this visit was sad. The food was good, your typical pub grub, which is what I expected and enjoyed. However, the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. There was only one young man running the bar, serving food, and handling the hotel side of things by himself. He was clearly working hard and doing his best under pressure, but it was disheartening to see how he was treated by the manager when he returned. The manager was openly condescending and unprofessional, berating the staff member in earshot of customers, telling him he should just know how to do things. Having worked in hospitality for 25 years myself, I know how damaging that kind of behavior can be, both for morale and the overall customer experience. It created a very uncomfortable atmosphere and i really felt for the young man. I almost wanted to offer to help out, as it was so busy and he seemed overwhelmed from poor communication on the part of the manager. This experience soured what was meant to be a nostalgic return, and sadly, it will be my last visit. I had hoped for a pleasant trip down memory lane, but it wasn’t the enjoyable experience I had hoped for. **Overall:** The food was fine, but the poor treatment of staff and uncomfortable atmosphere made it hard to enjoy.

Just staying the one night to visit brother. Wife has dementia and Parkinson's. The room was up a flight of stairs, we knew this when we booked. The staff were vere caring towards wife. The room was clean and warm. Bar area average and lots of dogs. Hunstanton is very dog friendly. They had slow cooked shoulder of lamb on the Special Board. They saved it for me to eat at dinner. Staff always friendly so I am surprised by a few of the comments. Breakfast was freshly cooked.

Great location for Hunstanton and Central, sea view would have been great for 5 stars but not sure that is possible for this hotel. Room clean on arrival. Shower entry so small, size 18 woman be impossible. Luckily I am smaller than that and just managed to squeeze my way in. We had a few drinks in the bar pre departure. Decided to have our last breakfast with Marine Bar on our depature. I walked into the bar area and was not nicely greeted by a older blond lady. I was quickly put in my place that the food order was not with her, passive aggressive behaviour. What a shame as up until that point we had a lovely stay. Please train the staff even if they are family. They can ruin your business.

When down this neck of the woods we tend to go for a slap up brunch at a nearby café that's very good value. Today we thought we'd try this place; I have to say we chose well. Two meals (as per photos). Both meals were fantastic, great value for the money too. Both came with a lovely, fresh side salad, and the steak also with mushrooms, peas, tomato. 100% satisfied and in this day and age that's a result for me.

Shocking experience yesterday! Went in with my family for breakfast, the woman was rude, throwing her weight around, no smile. Went to ask for breakfast, no “hello” just looked at me with a face that looked like she didn’t want anyone there. She asked in an unfriendly tone “what table” we were. She was able to see as we were right opposite her, I asked for breakfast and asked for a cup of tea and she said “what one” and put her finger up in an aggressive way. I told me dad we were leaving as she’s rude! Really disappointed as we go there every time we visit Hunstanton. We did go on Friday and another lady was there, she was lovely and very friendly with a welcoming smile. This rude one has put us off visiting again.

Well if Basil Faulty had a brother it would be the guy running this place, we went in early in the day to ask if they had any accommodation, "No were Full" was the reply with no eye contact, OK no worries, luckily we got in at the Wash and Tope, we had actually eaten at the Marine bar a couple of years ago and had a good meal so later on went back, walked in at 8.45 snd asked if they were serving food, Basil Faulty Lite said "yes till 9 so you have got 15 minutes ", we were actually laughing at his demeanor as were some of the other customers, we sat down and quickly scanned the menu, I went to order, Scampi and Fish Chowder and was told "oh the chef won't mind cooking that" glad I didn't inconvenience the guy, Anyway 9 o clock comes and and Basil Faulty Lite runs around the bar snatching the menus off the tables just incase anyone else dare walk in, food arrived and it was delicious, in summary a great laugh to see this guy in action, not sure service is his calling but he entertained us and the food was great so we will go back just for the entertainment value because we are still laughing now🤣

We have been going there for years but sadly the quality of food has deteriorated in quantity and quality. The prices have naturally gone up but to take the lead from food manufacturers to up the prices and half the quantity is naughty. The fish, which has been the reason for eating there, has halved in size but the chips had gone up in quantity to make up for a lack of fish, The unskinned 'french fry type' chips were an insult when chunky chips as they used to serve are the norm. The prawn and smoked salmon salad was smothered in 'Rose Marie' sauce to conceal the miserly portion of small prawns. Too much iceberg lettuce which was prevalent on all their salads to make weight for the main content on the plate. An unimaginative couple of slices of cucumber and tomato as well. Have had much better at similar prices. Get a takeaway elsewhere as the restaurants here are also very poor.!!

Great little find. Lovely quaint little pub that serves lovely home-cooked food. We visited with a family age range of 17 months to 82 years plus a dog and made to feel welcome. We all ordered different dishes and each one was excellent and value for money - one comment from our party was the cottage pie was just like Grandma used to make so traditional and flavoursome. Service was quick considering they were quite busy and good selection of drinks behind the bar. Seems to be a place where locals use the bar for a swift after work drink and chat so really felt like a ‘local friendly experience’

I recently stayed at the Marine Bar Hotel, and it exceeded my expectations. All the staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival at the bar. The room I had was comfortable and well-appointed, with all the amenities you’d expect. The flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi were a nice touch. Stunning sea views from my room, which were a perfect way to wake up in the morning! The on-site restaurant in the bar area was great. I enjoyed delicious breakfasts and meals at reasonable prices. The bar also offers an impressive selection of drinks, and you are able to enjoy them with seating inside and out. The Bar Hotel is conveniently located in the middle of Hunstanton, which makes it easy to walk to the different tourist spots and local attractions. If you’re arriving by car, the bar hotel has a car parking area on the side that is free to use for guests, which is a massive bonus. I highly recommend the Marine Bar Hotel for anyone visiting Hunstanton. It’s a great place to stay, with great service and great food and drink. I’ll definitely be back.

Visited twice during a week in the area and sad to say that on both visits the barman was just a miserable so and so! Not in the slightest bit friendly. The female staff were better to be fair to them. We ate during both visits and found the food to be of a good standard, although on the second visit a number of specials weren’t available even though they were advertised on chalkboards around the bar. So will we use again if in the area ? Not sure unless the barman becomes a bit more welcoming.

I've never had a bad meal. It's an old traditional pub. If you're looking for one of these modern yuppy pubs this maybe won't be for you. If you want traditional dining, with simple good food, cooked properly and a friendly atmosphere and very sensible prices for somewhere so near the beach. It's got all the meals you'll be looking for as well. I personally love the menu there's items on there that you just don't get in many pubs now. I like to try and go there when in Hunstanton.
