This is the best Greggs ever! The one in March is the Greggs to go to. 🙂🙂 the staff are so friendly here! The tables are always spotless! They are always cleaned as soon as someone has finished at their table. We travel up from Peterborough and I'm Autistic and will only eat the kids cheese sandwiches and they are always available in this Greggs. I can only eat the soft food because I have poorly teeth. I also love the Tottenham Cake because it's soft food. Also the icing is delicious! The Peterborough Greggs does not have it. Which is one of the many reasons we travel up to March. Thank you to all the staff at Greggs in March! Wonderful and Polite every time we come in! 🙂🙂 Kind Regards. Ashley 🙂

Stopped here for a quick bite in the evening whilst passing through. Limited menu, I had pie and chips. It was hot and tasty so no complaints. I sat at a small corner table and when I went to put my bag on the floor my elbow got caught up in a whole nest of cobwebs that ran floor to ceiling. Moved to a different table and when I looked at the carpet it was glistening with slug slime! Yes you read that right!! Trails and trails of slug slime all over the carpet. I went to put my bag on the chair next to me. The chairs are covered with faded pink felt like fabric that would have been all the rage in the 70s but it was thick with long hairs all trapped in the fabric. The window sills were covered with dead flies. The bar man - am I allowed to say man in these politically correct times?? The bar person / server was however very friendly, welcoming and polite. Very depressing place, definitely needs a clean and makeover.

Great place to eat and food cooked while u wait. Reasonably priced for the piping hot meal that is served. Food alone it would have received 5 stars Not easy to pay as you have to go into the sweet shop and it can get full if non restaurant customers are buying/choosing sweets. Another negative is that the toilets are upstairs. There are only around 6 or 7 tables so it can get very crowded. However its definately worth a visit.

This was a sweet tea room. It was lovely sitting on a table in the sun. The tea was really nice and they brought extra hot water to top up the tea which was really appreciated. The tea set was also really pretty. Was a lovely spot for a quick break. We didn’t get any sweet treats but there seemed to be a nice selection of cakes.

We are fairly regular theatre-goers and our favourite venue is the Theatre Royal in Norwich. We always try and make it an "occasion" and will often invite friends along as our guests to help add something extra special to what is always a pleasurable afternoon or evening out. One thing we always try to do is to eat before the show at the Prelude Restaurant inside the theatre itself. After all, it is so convenient! Now, we have always enjoyed our visits to Prelude and we know that we will always be warmly welcomed; that out table will be ready; that the food will be delicious and beautifully prepared; that the wine list will be full of tempting and exquisite bottles to suit all tastes; that the service will be very professional and gracious and that we will always enjoy the experience. Now, it will already be obvious that we are fans of Prelude. However, I am prompted to write a long-overdue review following our recent visit to the matinee of "Girl on a Train" on 8th February. As I have said earlier, we know that the food will be delicious, but on our last visit, it was beyond delicious! We have enjoyed so many meals in the Prelude before, but those presented to us on our last visit were beyond compare! The short redhead relished her chicken cacciatore and I was blown away by the superb grilled haddock (How do you get so much flavour onto one plate)?! We have enjoyed some great dishes in the past, but that was the best meal I have ever had there! We also know that the staff are always on-point and take great care to ensure that our visits are so special, but during this last visit it seemed that the levels of professionalism, courtesy and attention to detail had been turned up to the very max! We took great pleasure in thanking Abbi, or waitress and her colleague who looked after us (sorry, young man, but we have forgotten your name) that we were (are) so grateful for making us feel very special indeed. Well done and thank you to all the team at Prelude! See you again soon!!

This was the first time we have dined at Prelude, we decided it would be nice to eat here before going to the pantomime, on arrival we were warmly greeted by a young man who showed us to our table, within no time a very attentive and friendly waitress came for our drinks order, and as we were ready our food order too. The food soon arrived, followed by the other two courses when we were ready. It was so nice to have our table for the duration of the evening, being able to leave our coats etc, and to return in the interval for our pre ordered drinks, all in all a throughly enjoyable evening, Thank you.

We decided it was about time we sampled the Sunday Carvery and a recent birthday seemed as good an excuse as any. We booked a table and were glad we did as it was lovely and busy - not too busy that we had to wait, but busy enough to get a good atmosphere in the spacious function room. There was a choice of four meats and we sampled them all between the four of us in our group - they were all cooked to perfection. There was a lovely selection of vegetables which were being topped up regularly during service, and everything we had was hot and tasty. We were glad, however, that we had left enough room for dessert - the list of choices was mind blowing and the ones that we (eventually) picked were delicious. The staff were friendly - especially the chef, and we were made to feel welcome, and will definitely return soon.

Don’t take card, either they’re on the fiddle or want their business to fail, who doesn’t accept card payments in 2024 ?? Rude staff… The chap who seemed to be either the manager or at least senior enough, verbally confronted me across the premises when I said jokingly I’d have a word with the Pier management about the Chip shop not accepting card payments - he said ‘What are they gonna do?’ Obviously this chap had not had the best day that day, or, he doesn’t have a great working relationship with the Pier management. Anyhow, his loss, there’s other places to buy chips in Clacton. I won’t be spending my cash there again.
