Ignore this place visited Bank Holiday Monday. Bad atmosphere no welcome and then 2 awful cappuccinos. Food average and very poor service even witnessed 2 examples of rudeness to customers.

Not welcomed on arrival, coffee was not good. First jacket potato was cold, which was replaced and the second was hard, served with an unappetising salad. When asked I said the second potato was not much better and as I hardly touched food, could they reduce meal. Immediately the chef came out, saying indiscreetly that the potato was at the right temperature (I beg to differ) so he would not reduce price. I quietly said that we would not be returning, he and the lady came back with sarcastic remarks, which is not the attitude. Other diners were gobsmacked.

The food here is well priced but of average quality at best. However, the attitude of the lady who must be the owner, is possibly the worst I have ever encountered. Blunt, dismissive, sarcastic and rude. Everything seems too much effort, and customers are an annoyance for her. If you are looking for something to eat or drink in Hunstanton, go elsewhere. We won’t go back.

went there as a family of 3 today 12/06/2021.waited what seemed like a eternity to even get served, when the grumpy women come to seat us it seemed our fault we wanted breakfast and she seemed very put out to serve us..we ordered full breakfast with hot drinks as cold drinks just seemed to blow her mind about price difference..I asked if I could have my tea the same time as my breakfast...yes she barked back..10 mins later the hot drinks come back including my tea that I asked for with my breakfast.i reminded her of this and she mumbled something under the breath, then processed to throw my wife's coffee on the table with most of it going in the saucer. I then said can we have a napkin to soak up the coffee she had spilt.. MAYBE YOUR BETTER OFF LEAVING ,she then growled... so at that point we did. even faulty towers is run better with less rudeness... only go there if you want bad service and rude staff.. would give no stars if possible, also the only restaurant with no one at tables...should have known...

We didn't stay to eat here. We got as far as the doorway and asked the lady if they served gluten free food. She snapped back 'with regards to?' So we suggested a breakfast. She pulled a strange face, handed us a menu card and walked off. There wasn't anything on the menu marked as gluten free, in fact there was very little on the menu at all. We felt so uncomfortable with this womans attitude, very unwelcoming and no manners what so ever.

I went in here for lunch with my parents. Roast dinners were ok, I've had better. My mother had a lasagne and it seemed to be mince in gravy, layered with lasagne. While 2 of us were finishing my father went outside as he wasn't feeling very well. We quickly finished and I paid the bill. However as we were walking down the High street the lady came running after us saying we hadn't paid the bill. I was stunned, I said I have just paid you at the counter and said how much. I followed her back in the cafe. Past plenty of people outside and In who no doubt heard her shouting at us. Turns out i paid the 'wrong' one. I paid the difference. Not one word of apology from the lady, who i think is the owner, for the embarrasment or for being wrongly accused of non payment. I will definitely not be going there again. There are so many good places to eat in Hunstanton, go elsewhere.

Well where do I start ! Social distance no where near good enough, we asked for a table for 2 inside, showed to a table right opposite the working counter and by the toilet, so we asked if we could move to a table in the corner by ourselves, no reservation sign on it, the elder lady grunted, so we sat down, looked at menu ready to order, 20 minutes from sitting down she came and took order, and looked at her watch as to hurry us up, no smile just a grunt, drinks came quite quickly, but food took what seems an age, food was served by nice young lady, pleasant and polite. Sorry but roast was average. Paid up and gelled hands on way out. Older lady was coughing into the palm of her hands and not sanitising afterwards. Not doing track and trace if they were sitting outside, but I’m sure they should, according to the guidelines. Very unpleasant lady.

I have to echo other reviews, the lady serving us was pretty miserable and not very engaged with my dad and I, that said our food arrived quickly,my main was very nice (lasagne, garlic bread and salad) as was my dad's gammon/chips. However, our deserts was the biggest problem, the apple pie was nice, until the taste of the 'fresh' cream, it was clearly on the turn (unpleasant tangy taste) which is not acceptable really, we should of complained, but instead skirted around the cream and left half the apple pie. Finally, the China teapots were stained and only half full and being distinctly average quality in taste. Not the best experience, yes our mains were nice, the deserts were not and top that off with poor service and it's not somewhere I would probably return. At least it's dog friendly (we had our staffie) and has a fish tank!

We popped in here for a quick coffee break after a long walk but from the moment we arrived it was obvious from the look on the woman’s face that we were not likely to receive a friendly welcome. I wished I had looked at the previous reviews before entering as we were clearly not the only customers to receive poor service. When we asked for jam and cream with our scones the lady seemed quite ‘put out’ and begrudgingly brought a small pot of jam for the children but no cream ( note the £3.25 is for a scone with butter only and it’s more with jam ). It always puzzles me why people like this go into business serving the public when they clearly don’t appear to enjoy it. Shame as it would have been a nice place to go back to but we will not be returning.

The fact they don’t have gluten free options is ok as unfortunately restaurants like these who are not with the modern times do not cater for everyone. But it was her attitude and how unhelpful she was that made us leave. Do yourself a favour and go down the road to The Terrace who catered for gluten free, had lovely food, and had friendly staff. My 2yr old and 3yr old don’t like regular “kids meal deals” and won’t eat chips. I was thrilled after spending a while looking for somewhere to eat to see Rendezvous were advertising roast dinners at only £7.50 for a adult main. We entered the building to a happy customer that was leaving who held the door open for us and said “you can’t go wrong in here”. After our meal I whole heartily agree. The owners happily split an adult meal onto two plates for my toddlers and kindly gave them a Yorkshire each for free despite me offering to pay. The meat on our roasts was fab, the veg very fresh and portion sizes very generous. The gravy made it . I ordered a jam roly poly for pudding between my toddlers and again the owners happily put the custard in a jug separately. They even popped back out with a flake for each of them which thrilled my girls. There is no where else we’ve found after our many visits to Hunstanton this year that have been so accommodating and great value for money. We will certainly be back.

We popped in here to grab a quick lunch over the bank holiday weekend and chose it because it seemed nice. I wish we hadn’t. The food wasn't the issue. It was average and reasonably priced. The lady serving us was possibly the rudest person I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with. I get it - friendly, smiling, well-behaved families who say please and thank you must be a real drag to deal with. We didn’t fare quite so badly as the table near us who refused to pay for some of their bill as they were so unhappy. They were then threatened with the police. A farcical phone call with Norfolk constabulary followed who I’m sure had better things to do on a wet Sunday in May.

I visited this restaurant today with my husband, calling in on the off chance they had a table for Sunday lunch. A table was found near the rear of the café and as I had dirty hands off I went to the ladies to wash them, on my return my husband was stood with his coat back on ready to leave. Looking confused I asked him what was the matter, he explained he had on removing his coat noticed the cutlery and so picked two knives and forks together with two napkins onto the table. Along came a female who I presume was the manageress and promptly took them away to the kitchen and told my husband he would be given cutlery when he ordered food. As this restaurant was full, this made my husband very upset. A think a little decorum and patience and understanding would have been more appropriate on this occasion. My husband is a 76 year old war veteran with a severe head injury, he has COPD and is not a quick person. I could have voiced my opinion in front of everyone, however I have more manners than to ruin everyone else's day. We will how ever never visit this place again. Hidden disabilities need help and understanding, this place unfortunately is sadly lacking this.

She took our order with barely a word, we were very nice to her, but it was not reciprocated. When we had finished with our plates, to make room I carefully stacked them on another table, checking the underside of the plate, to make sure it was clean. She came along, clearly unhappy about my actions, removed the plates, made a point of vigorously recleaning the table, and mat that were still clean. When my wife asked for a top up for the tea pot, she put enough in there for maybe one cup. I always leave a tip, but on this occasion I did not because of the poor service.

Dropped in without booking as in area and needed Sunday roast. They told us there was room and in we went. Had the Sunday roast and a drink and decided to have pudding too. However, between us ordering our Main meal and getting it, a table of six who had booked, entered. Their order was taken and it was clear they were regulars, nothing wrong with that, however, from this point forward, we were second class customers. We did get our meal, just before this other table also did. But from then on we honestly were ignored. We sat, having finished our meal, waiting for our plates to be taken and to order our puddings, but no one came and nothing more happened. Eventually, this other table had their plates cleared and they were asked if they wished to order puddings.... This was it for us, we put on our coats and walked to pay. She noticed us then and told us to wait as she wasn't ready to take our money... She was blunt and matter of fact. I waited out of decency, although I felt I wanted to just walk out. We paid and left, falling directly across the road for a Costa and Cake which was delicious :)

We went to hunstanton for nice day out on a sunday morning, We came across with this place on the high street, and decided to have a quick breakfast,we walked in and after waiting for few min. Thinking we would get a table shown,we ended grabbing one of the table ourselves. This woman the owner came a long and told us to move to the other table and her attitude was stinking.apparently the table we grabbed was reserved. AnywayShe re-appeared to take our orders, i asked her if they do a veggie breakfast, she wasnt very pleasant and told me pick i want from the menu. I said i would have the allday breakfast as it is after swopping the meat products with some extra veggies.mushroom etc. She walked away from the table, without finishing my order and without asking my wife and little daughter anything. We were left on the table trying to understand what was happening. She came back to wipe the next table after 5 min. And i said excuse me wont you tske my wifes order? She replied in a min. Rudely. She never came back to take the rest of the orders and i went to her and said, did we say anything wrong ? Are you ok ? She said to me why am i trying to change the menu? And i said to her all i wanted was veggie breakfast and you told me to pick what i wanted from the menu but you didnt even let me finish it! She said straight away if you are not happy you can leave !!! I was shocked . What a horrible attitude! Disrespectful. I left the place and would never ever go again .. if treats people this way she wont be there long. Thats what i know

I have worked in the area for over 10 years now and it was only this week that a friend and I decided to lunch in Rendezvous. For a Tuesday in November, I thought that the restaurant was busy. Always a good sign.My friend and I chose Roast Pork from the Specials of the day list.Loin of pork, ample and beautifully tender.Yorkshire Pudding, roasties, mash, cabbage, carrots and cauli.Great value. Great choice on the menu.Rendezvous deserves to be way higher up the TripAdvisor list in Hunstanton. We will return!

We have just come back from a lovely overnight stay in Norfolk and popped into Hunstanton on the way home. Myself, two daughters and husband went to the Rendezvous for a late lunch. Service was with a smile from the lady who served us and the gentlemen was very cheerful. The food was lovely and well presented. The girls had warm baguettes which were great value for money with a side salad and a few natchos. I ordered the jacket potato/chilli and had a lovely sized portion again with a side salad. Will definitely visit again if in the area. One minor point is they do not except debit card so make sure you have cash on you when you visit.

Disgusting, terrible attitude by staff when complained nicely about their lack of ability to wash cups and cutlery. Seems standard practice to give their customers stained and coffee soaked spoons to their customers. Certainly wouldn't recommend and environmental health need a visit.

Went here recently with friends on a Sunday and had a lamb roast! It was disgusting! The lamb was so dry! The veg was in a puddle of water! The roast potatoes were out of a frozen bag deep fried and dry!! It was like the whole meal was frozen and reheated too order!! Get some chefs in the kitchen to actually cook fresh food! Very poor! Will not return!

It appears to be a better venue, clean and well presented, all with a well maintained and new look to it. The menu is quite basic and the food is too. The waitress was quite charmless, merely accepting the order and departing. Strangely, there was no suggestion of drinks or later, a dessert, so we chose not to have any. It is not a place to linger.

We have recently visited the Rendezvous. My partner and I had one course each, and we thought the meals were ok. However, the atmosphere could do with being friendlier. The gentleman seemed to be fairly friendly, but the lady hardly smiled at all. Would we go back? I'm not sure, possibly if we felt more welcome.

We were on a family weekend break, a large number of us, all with different tastes so we decided on what we thought would be cheap and cheerful for some lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The place was empty, the offers seemed okay from the outside and although the place Chives next door was calling my name personally, the group decided on Rendezvous. From start to finish it was just appalling service, I was actually embarrassed at the waitresses behaviour. We weren't greeted, we were mumbled at to sit in the corner, we pushed tables together and got the extra chairs ourselves, (which I'm more than happy to do if the waitress makes an effort/smiles) once we were sat down she re-appeared to take our orders, however only after walking by a few times and pulling faces as if we were in the way. If they couldn't cater for us, we would have been happy to have just had that communicated to us.The waitress/owner turned her nose up and I assume took a disliking to me as once all orders were taken and drinks were brought out, I didn't get my drink until most of the food had been brought out. I thought she'd forgotten due to the number of us so I asked again if I could get my drink when she had a second, she replied abruptly that she would bring it with the food, even though everyone else had their drinks. My uncle then asked politely when some time had passed and food was still being brought out, as she still hadn't brought it and she replied with "I'll get it in a minute". I had to ask one more time before I finally got it. The sandwich I ordered was fine, a little better than a tesco meal deal, and when I finally got my drink (after I'd had my food), it was brought out in possibly the smallest glass she could find, whilst everyone else had pint glasses or halfs - and it was only a water, possibly the simplest of them all. Once I'd finished my sandwich I left them to finish their meals as I was so angry with the service. I went next door to Chives, instantly wish I'd paid the tiny fraction more, as the service was impeccable and my pimms and lemonade was made lovely. Some of the others then also came to join me in Chives as I was told some of the food was burnt and rather than them offering any kind of resolution, they didn't help and made them feel bad for raising an issue with the food. When the rest of my family followed, they'd had their own encounters also with the poor service and the male owner had also got involved with sarcasm I was told. Please go next door, the eatery needs to learn customer service before they deserve any customers.

Yes the waitress could have been friendlier but was professional ,the food is homecooked which is something i value.we had lasagne,it could have been more moist but was lovely, the chicken curry was different and could have been more curried but again was nice. the puddings were homemade as well and was lovely. for £6.95 for 2 course and a drink i think it is good value and i would certainly visit again if in the area.

The two hot sandwiches were fine, nice quality bacon. Hot chocolate very expensive and cups very small. The radio was playing on a loud speaker but hadn't been tuned in correctly so we had to sit through annoying crackles and static at a loud volume. The staff were oblivious to it. Waitress was perfunctory to the point of being dismissive. Needless to say we did not leave a tip ( we usually leave 15%) Ok if everywhere else is full - But rather cramped. The fish tank is a nice addition but could do with a clean and water change ( my husband also keeps fish and this was his observation).

Unfortunately the lady serving needed to smile and be welcoming ,a shame as we think the actual place was quite classy for Hunstanton !! It's always good to be welcoming ok med with a happy ,friendly person ,if she's the proprietor she needs to change her manner .

The place looks inviting and nice from the outside with a fair selection to chose from, albeit mostly simple fare for the average tourist. We popped in for a small snack and decided upon the special offer of Bangers and Mash for £5.95 with a tea. The mash arrived with lumps, very wet and bland in taste. There were 3 sausages which looked promising but were in fact cheap versions with incredibly hard skins. These really were inedible and we ended up scrapping the insides off to have something to eat. Living locally, we were looking for somewhere to eat on a more occasions, but after this meal we will just give it a miss. After all what can you expect for £5.99! Something of a low standard! It would have been more preferable to have had only 2 sausages of a higher standard. Maybe the other food is better, but be prepared for a disappointment.

The Place looked bright and pleasant enough when we went in, but the owner let everything down immediately. She appeared to be looking down her nose at everyone and did not smile once. The food was very strange. It should have been chicken curry. It looked as though it had been cooked by a six year old. The 'sauce' looked and tasted like gravy with the addition of curry powder. To our amazement this gourmet dish came with salad - served on the same plate with the 'gravy' delightfully mixing with it. If this person wasn't the owner, I would recommend sacking her and employing someone who cared about what they did! There is lots of competition in this small town and so attitudes such as this are foolish, to say the least.

The breakfast my friend and I had was edible, it had the usual components but they were quite obviously cheap products. My daughter had a child's burger, chips and peas. The chips were pleasant enough but the burger was cheap and nasty and the bun had been thawed in the microwave, for too long, so it was hard and tasteless. The peas were hard and under cooked too. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant enough, the seats were comfy but the crockery/utensils were filthy. Lastly the service. Terrible, the grumpy looking lady that served us was rude and not very helpful. As if we were an inconvenience to her just by being in there?! I will certainly be avoiding this place in the future!

We visited The Ship at Brandon Creek and ordered paninis for lunch: chili chicken, and cheese and red onion. These were both served with a small garden salad and five or six crisps. The paninis were baguettes with an insulting meager amount of filling. I asked the surly bartender if he would be happy to be served these. His excruciating arrogant response was "We have been serving these all day and no one else has complained". He was exceptionally argumentative and clueless regarding how to speak with dissatisfied customers. The chef offered to add more cheese. We asked for and received a refund of £15.90. There was no comprehension of how on earth we could not be happy with what we received. There was no empathy or an apology from any of the three staff members present.
