Firstly our waitress was really friendly and took time to explain what gluten free options were on the menu for my friend. Despite being busy the service was good. The food was ok, but nothing special. There is a good choice of food on the menu. It is definitely worth going here before a show at the Cliffs Pavilion but do book as it’s very popular.

This is a great place to eat if you are going to see a show at the Cliff's, there was 5 of us, one has a specific diertary need & this was adhered to fully (gluten intolerant) the menu is extensive & covers most tastes. I would definitely return as the service, food & price were all very good. There is however no disabled toilet, so if you are in a wheelchair with limited mobility, this is not the place for you. Booking is essential as it gets very busy on show nights.

We went there for a bite to eat before the show at the cliffs pavilion Good food , good prices - excellent staff I had white bait main meal which was very good and my wife had a home made lasagna which was excellent Can I highly recommend it - specially as there is very little seating why you wait for the doors to open at the Cliffs. m

We didn’t know the area and this was first place to eat once passed the cliff Pavillion. It’s a diner not a restaurant with a bar. In fact first impression is ‘pub’ with food. Food was home cooked and usual diner food eg homemade burgers- fish and chips- lasagne. It’s a place that fills the hunger hole with no frills and prepares you for theatre fun. Service is good. For me the seating let it down- literally sitting next to (on top of) people so quite unnerving! Not sure I will go again unless can have a table of our own. Not overpriced- recommend going early as busy.

Perfect choice to come here for a meal before going next door to the Cliffs for a concert. And so glad I ignored the few negative reviews as we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Excellent nachos to share to start with, followed by beer battered fish chips and mushy peas, with a sneaky side of onion rings. All absolutely delicious Watching other tables get their food makes me want to go back and try some other dishes from the menu. Service was great, both the girls that looked after us were super friendly. Very good value for money.

This place is ideal for a meal before the theatre. The menu has a large choice with easy to prepare dishes. We had Whitebait, Chicken and Ice cream sundae. The service was great, the staff were friendly and explained the menu well. Would go back when visiting the theatre.

Went to a show at the Cliffs Pavillion and decided to have dinner at Bojangles before the show. There were other options for restaurants but I'm so glad me and my wife picked this one. I had the Ribs which were to die for. Soft meat with the right about of BBQ sauce. The chips that came with it were also nicely cooked. I have had ribs in many restaurants but this is the first restaurant to offer me a side plate to put the ribs on after I had taken the meat off. Nice touch! My wife had the fish and chips and she informs that this was fresh and delicious. The service was great and they don't add service charge which is rear these days. The prices of the dishes were really good. Only negative - soft drinks were overpriced. Definitely would go back!

I wasn't actually going to write another review but after it being so nice and seeing a few bad ones I felt it necessary to give an honest review of this fab little gem. Unfortunately some people are probably too used to weather spoons and food establishments alike. We came as a table of 8, no booking but no problem. Were told we would have to wait around 10 mins for a table as they were full so we had a drink at the bar first. Had a little look at the menu and wanted the whole lot! But I opted for a bacon cheeseburger with a side of mushy peas (I'd like to take this moment to point out that the burger was a pinky orange inside which to me screamed paprika possibly? I didn't ask as it was obviously cooked and I didn't want to hassle them for silly reasons and the peas are in fact HOMEMADE, clearly stated on the menu and honestly to die for) 3 people ordered the fish & chips with said mushy peas. 2 had the BBQ chicken melt, 1 chilli and 1 lasagne (another point, if you want to wait around for 45 minutes to over an hour for your food I'm sure they would happily make it FRESH for you, the fact they were clearly homemade is more than enough, No? I'm not quite sure what people expect?) Ordered a few sides too garlic bread, onion rings, and nachos which was all ordered at the bar whilst waiting for our table and by the time out table was ready around 20 mins in the end but we didn't mind as they were busy) and we had got ourselves seated and comfortable (more drinks) our food arrived. Perfect timing! And all looked incredible (I had major food envy as still wanted the lot!) piping hot, fresh, and most important to me personally, homemade! We as a family eat in many restaurants from fine dining to country pubs and this is one of our favourites. Great friendly staff that do everything they can to give you an enjoyable experience and a great atmosphere with a cracking menu! Thank you Bojangles we will continue to return, pre-theatre and any other time your restaurant tickles our fancy. So please, ignore the people that will be better suited with a microwave meal and tinned food, those people aren't the kind of custom you need or deserve.

Waitress very friendly, service very very quick which indicated the use of a microwave!! 2 of us had the chilli which didn’t taste fresh and was full of over heated green peppers!! My friend had the burger which was raw mince, the waitress checked with the chief who said this was cooked however, the spice he used turned the mince pink!!! Really!!! Such a shame this restaurant is next to the cliffs and could have so much potential if only the food was fresh!!!!

My daughter, granddaughter and I wanted a meal before a theatre visit to the Cliffs Pavillion. I have food intolerances and as I had the beer battered fried cod, they replaced the chips with garlic bread. The whole meal was delicious and the mushy peas were definitely not from the tin They were lovely and minty. The children’s menu was good too and included a drink and Icecream. My daughter’s burger looked good too.

We dined here as there was limited choice in the area... dining area not brilliantly clean decor extremely dated. Chilli con carni was poorly presented with rice hidden under meat and it came with a salad garnish even though it was advertised as side salad and the tortilla chips were broken and few. The taste was bland. Potatoes skins were over cooked and tasteless and 70’s prawn cocktail was poor with poorly prepared salad. The most appalling thing was the prices charged. Extremely overpriced for the standard of the menu. We will not be dining here again even if desperate.

Not our first visit to bojangles but our last my dinner came out 5 mins before my husbands, garlic bread was burnt to a crisp, and chilli con carne was tasteless, my husband had the cod and chips which was fine apart from the mushy peas, they had clearly run out and tried to make their own i must say they were discusting, been better off just offering normal peas, the staff front of house are all lovely and very attentive, my only concern was a young girl cleaning a table whilst people were eating with highly perfumed polish very nice smell, but not any soapy water or sanitiser in sight, i then noticed the kitchen chefs looked a bit dirty and my last concern was to see two glasses of beer go into the kitchen, no glass should be anywhere near a kitchen they have a 5 star rating im quite shocked at this after what i witnessed, rules and regulations that are law seem very slack here and it is only a tiny place to have such a long wait for less than average food

We were disappointed with our lunch and didn’t enjoy it I had lasagne with a side salad which I think was reheated in the microwave and was not piping hot as it would be from the oven and was a bit oily. Came here as it was close to the Cliffs Pavilion - waited 45 minutes for starters that came out swimming in fat. The potato skins were oozing oil over the plate. We sent it back and said we just wanted mains as we had waited so long. All meals were oily in the end, the 2 kids meals and our burgers. Hygiene of the restaurant was dubious as a man wearing a dirty grey tracksuit had been out to get shopping, and could 've seen in the kitchen preparing food (as well as clearing plates/handing out food) . His tracksuit had huge smears of food down the front. They didn't have all the ingredients for the children's desserts. I wanted to complain further but my mother said not to. I did tell them the food was greasy as we left. No discount was offered - we would recommend leaving more time and going somewhere nice. There are so many great restaurants in the area. Don't waste time and money on here!!!

We waited 45 minutes for our starter only to send it back as it had been deep fried and was saturated with oil. Staff were very apologetic and took it off the bill. Main course once again was greasy but edible and as we were short of time we ate the best bits. Kids meals were good, but their desserts were minus the choccy buttons(they said they had run out) . Worried that the "chefs" were working in dirty grey tracksuits and were out buying in ingredients locally; doing front of house plate clearing as well as food preparation, whilst wearing same clothes. Not impressed I'm afraid. The whole experience took 1 3/4 hours and left us tight on time for the show we were going to, so paid up remaining bill and left.If I had more time would have taken up my issues over chefs etc . Won't be returning

Theatre night for my best friends Christmas present. Was going to go to one of the Italians along shorefield on the seafront, all booked up so looked up places in the area of the theatre and found this one, had a browse at the menu and reviews so thought we’d give it ago. Literally next to to theatre and needs a little tic but nice and clean inside and greeted as we came in friendly. Had a look though the menu decided on the desperado burgers. Food didn’t take too long and we were offered drinks nice and attentive without being annoying. Burgers came out and they were huge. I have to say I haven’t tasted such a good burger in a long while all hand made and totally mouth watering literally melted in my mouth as I ate it, accompanied by chips and coleslaw and these were good too. Everything else I saw coming out looked good as well and it has made me want to come back and try more. We also had warm chocolate fudge cake and ice cream which was yummy only down fall was the ice cream as not much flavour. Utterly impressed by the place.

We booked a meal at Bojangles before a show. Meal was really nice and tasty. The couple next to us (see review below) were moaning to themselves all the way through their meals, yet they never advised any of the waitresses that there was a problem, despite 3 waitresses constantly passing by their table. They ate all their food and when the waitress asked how their meal was (when they were paying the bill) the man gave a curt reply and still didn’t say what the problem was with his food. To be honest they ruined our meal with their constant moaning throughout. If they didn’t like the meal they should have told one of the waitresses- how is the restaurant supposed to know something is wrong if you do not let them know?

We were greater by friendly staff who were happy to seat us even though we hadn’t pre booked. Bojangles is the ideal place to go for a pre-show meal when visiting the Cliffs Pavilion Theatre just 2 minutes walk away...just make sure you allow yourself a couple of hours to be able to eat and get to the show on time. Its always busy because the food is so good. The food is always freshly cooked but although we were served our drinks within minutes of being seated we then waited over an hour for our meal to arrive. There were others still waiting for their meals when we left to go to the theatre. Had we ordered a dessert as well I doubt we would have made the show on time. Perhaps just a word from the staff when our order was taken would have prepared us for the long wait.

My husband and I visited Bojangles prior to seeing a show at the Cliffs. Although called Bojangles, the restaurant itself seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a cafe, is it a themed diner? There are black & white photos on the wall of chaplain, elvis, etc but the decor is bland with wonky Formica tables and magnolia painted walls. The music was something you'd hear on capital radio which is in contrast to what you'd expect. The decor in the restaurant is quite tired and in need of a spruce up and the toilets are in desperate need of redecoration. The staff are friendly although other than taking orders, delivering food and taking payment there is little further interaction with customers. We weren't offered more drinks at any point and no one checked that we were happy with our food. The food itself is really good. I had a burger which was hot and very tasty and my husband had ribs which he said were amazing. The prices are very reasonable too. To summarise, this restaurant serves great food at a good price but I feel it's a bit let down by the tired decor and lack of atmosphere. That said, I'd visit again.

Stopped here for lunch treat before a theatre matinee show. Sort of normal pub menu-burgers pasta bangers and mash type food, so enough choice for everyone. Would have got higher rating except that a few things not available which made up a a fair bit of menu like mash or tagliatelle. My choice of one of the burgers was very tasty and the skinny chips were nice as well. But it all took quite a long time to arrive even though they were not over busy, so by the time the food arrived we had to rush it down which was a shame. Our server was very pleasant and not sure if he ended up having to help prepare our order in the end. So cannot decide ifit is a good place for pre show meal unless you allow extra extra time.

Had an early booking as we were off to the theatre which is a couple of minutes walk away straight after our meal. They have a very good varied menu. It was a pleasure to be served by our very cheerful waiter and he was very quick to take our order and to bring our drinks. Sadly the food was not as quick in arriving and we had a long wait for our meal. We were about to complain when it did eventually turn up. If we hadn't gone in so early I doubt we would have had time to eat before having to rush out so as not to miss the show. That was the only complaint...the food when it arrived was excellent. All obviously freshly cooked. All very tasty and good size portions.

Just stopped off at Bonjangles for a pre show Meal before going to the Cliffs Pavillion. We use this on a regular basis as a pre show stop. Varied menu and not expensive. It can get busy so always best to book.

Easy to book a table & really nice atmosphere. The service wasn't that quick, but the restaurant was busy with pre-show diners.I ordered cheese & bacon potato skins, what i actually got was a potato cut in half, not properly cooked with cheese & a surprise, but small appearance of bacon. The main course - Full rack of ribs coated in a hickory sauce & chips, was absolutely lovely & I have to say I really enjoyed it, the meat just fell off the bone & had a lovely flavour & generous portions. The dessert was a "Dusk till Dawn" this looked really nice, but was total ruined by very cheap ice cream, that tasted more like flavoured ice.I would go back for another meal, but would only have a main course.

My friend and I were going to Cliffs Pavilion to see Ask Joan Collins and popped into Bojangles for a meal. The food was very nice I had homemade tomato soup and chicken Caesar salad with jacket potato which was delicious and my friend had garlic mushrooms and a spicy chicken dish with jacket potato which she enjoyed. With two glasses of wine and a couple of soft drinks the bill was £38.95, service had been good as well.I would recommend it and we would eat there again.

Went to Bojangles as we're seeing show at the theatre. Hadn't booked and they were full. Staff were great and offered us bar service, which we took up. A little later a table became available and they offered this to us. Food was great. All homemade. Good choice of drinks and service was brilliant. Would definitely recommend.

Went with the other half and daughter for a Pre Chicago meal.I was a little hesitant after the last visit, where the food wasn't quite as good as remembered, but this time it was truly excellent. The Service was friendly and prompt, with the food being top quality.I would recommend this restaurant to any one, whether you're going to see a show at the Cliffs or not.. Maybe I shouldn't to ensure I get a table next time I go.. :)

I've been to Bojangles several times and have always found it to be excellents, this time it wasn't quite up to the standard I've gotten used to.We booked earlier on the day for three people, but when we arrived they mentioned two people and then looked worried when we said three. They found us a table without an issue though, so far so good.Previously the menu's were in a nice personalised menu cover, the drinks menu's still are, but these were on laminated paper. The staff were attentive, but not as slick as previously as we were asked twice if we wanted drinks.I had the Nacho's for Starters which was very nice, then the Ribs for mains.. These Ribs are the main reason we can as they are probably the best Ribs I've tasted. This time around they were slightly overdone, with a couple of tough bit, but all in all they were still very good.Afters was a Eton Mess.. Tasty and filling. So not quite a slick as previous visits, but we'll still be going back again.

What a disappointment! My fiancé and I called in on the off chance to have dinner before a show at the theatre. We were told they are full but if we didn't mind sitting at the bar we could be fed. We ordered drinks all ok, the food however was a different story. I want led one of the burgers in the menu but without the mushrooms, of which I was told that they could not do that as the burgers were all pre- prepared, so slightly confused as to how hard it is to remove some mushrooms I ordered something else. My fiancé and I waited patiently for our food, 40mins later we are still waiting. My fiancé asked how long the food will be, of which he got the response of 'it will be 2mins. The trouble is you turned up late'. I don't see how we could turn up late as we hadn't booked, and then how could it possibly take that long to cook 2 fully pre-prepared burgers of which they admitted when we arrived? I expect to wait that sort of time if I was getting quality food cooked from scratch but not 45-50mins for a ready to go burger. In all, the wait time was poor, the food was poor, and the staff's attitude was extremely poor. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Have often dined here prior to shows at The Pavillion, but was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the recent reviews and by the change of menu. However all was unfounded. We received a warm friendly greeting as usual and shown to our table and were served our drinks immediately as we looked through the menu. Orders were taken and starters arrived very timely. Main courses followed also in reasonable time and were also excellent. In summary the service was excellent, the food delicious and prepared with excellent ingredients. It was also great value for money. The restaurant was full and had a great atmosphere (albeit not fine dining though). We noticed a number of potential diners being turned away - so the message is you must book. I only have one gripe; the're is no longer liver, bacon and red onion gravy on the menu - it was to die for; please bring it back !!!

We visited 3 March as we often do before a show at the Cliffs. Previously the home cooked food such as liver and bacon was excellent and we were looking forward to it.Unfortunately they have changed the menu and what is left are steaks and 'burger style' items. We asked the waitress about it and she said the changes had been made to speed things up. Just how much longer does it take to cook liver than a pretty average steak? The end result was that we waited just as long as previously - and we don't mind waiting for decent food. It's a shame but if the menu stays like this we'll have to go elsewhere.

Always booked here when seeing a show and the food was always fantastic, this was my first visit in just over a year and I was very disappointed with the "new menu" food was overcooked and service was very slow,it has become more of a burger bar than a restaurant, all of the old favourite dishes have gone. Such a shame will have to find a new place to eat now.

Booked early pre-theatre table for dinner tonight and waited well over an hour for food. Mum and I ordered cod and chips and, when it finally arrived, it was barely lukewarm. It was taken away and showed no sign of ever being replaced. Dad's salmon never arrived! By now pushed for time we had to leave. As there was no sign of the waitress I knocked on the kitchen door and gave one of the kitchen staff money for the drinks we'd had. There appeared to be more staff in the kitchen so don't know it it was a lack of communication between them and front of house. We ended up grabbing fish and chips from chip shop next door which, to their credit, was delicious. I just felt pretty disappointed as I had left work early looking forward to a nice sit down meal. They restaurant was busy but still no excuse for poor service. The table next to us also walked out and and I heard grumbles from others. It's a shame as it's a nice venue but I shan't be returning anytime soon

Plenty of choice from a 'pub food' type menu. The food was hot and well cooked and the service excellent. Certainly a good place to eat before a night at the Cliffs as they know you want to be out just before the show starts! I was driving so on soft drinks but a good selection of beers and wines too. A comfortable dining atmosphere which we will visit again. There is a large car park 25 metres away and if you are eating before the show you should be there before the car park is full.

Bojangles used to be an amazing place with amazing food.In the last couple years it has slowly gone down hill worse and worse.Every time we visited we would always have the same meals same drinks and always the same waitress as we have been dining for so long kept on noticing changes. The food and drink selection went down then noticed our normal lovely waitress had left. Which later found out because they didn't treat her right so she left. Good on you girl I'm sure you would be as disappointed as us if you found out how much bojangles has gone down hill.Avoid this place don't let them ruin your night at the cliffs pavilion we will not be returning!

We visited this venue for a pre theatre dinner. When I made the booking, they were very helpful as I thought the show started later than it did and the girl queried my booking time with me. The service was very efficient (some may say a little too much so) but the staff were friendly and helpful. The main course was excellent - extremely tasty and filling, but the dessert was a bit of a let down as it had clearly been microwaved a little too long and the waffles were rock hard! We wouldn't hesitate to return but would skip dessert. Just watch out for the floor if you visit, it was a dry night but the floor was quite slippery for some reason.

Diners here are going to the theatre as was we, however the sign in the window says it all "staff wanted" service was extremely slow and we had to rush our coffees to get to the theatre next door in time, in fact it took 25 minutes to make three coffees, and the waitress explained she didn't know how to use the coffee machine. Please provide some training! Food was okay the burgers on the next table looked really good, homemade in fact. I would give them another go but they really need to sort out the staffing issue as we felt neglected and had to repeatly ask where items we ordered were!

We were able to walk in for lunch on a Sunday without booking, which should have rung a few warning bells. We did receive a warm welcome from the lady on the bar but it was downhill from there. I had fish and chips and my companion had lasagne. Both were poor. The fish was mushy with a soggy batter and served with nasty frozen chips. Onion rings were cold and greasy. The lasagne lacked any kind of flavour and we asked for some Parmesan to liven it up a bit. Value for money was poor. It took ages to get waiting staff attention, even trying to pay was frustrating. We won't be back.

We went to this restaurant with friends on Saturday for a pre-show dinner. Appalling service.1. They never answer the phone so I left a message. They phoned me 3 days later asking if I still wanted a booking, so I booked.2. Arrived at the booked time of 6pm and there was no booking. They found us a table and I wish they hadn't.3. We ordered drinks, no draft lager, it had all run out, except for Peroni. My husband asked for a bottled Fosters with some lemonade in order to make a shandy. The other male in the party ordered a bottle of Becks.4. 15 minutes later the drinks arrived. No lemonade. We had to ask for it four times before we got it. Then our friend found they had given him alcohol free Becks. 5. 50 minutes later the food arrived! Passable but served indifferently by the barman.6. We wanted another drink. Could we get his attention? No, he never looked up from behind the bar and they weren't terribly busy. He must be family or he would be sacked! Eventually we got his attention and our friend pointed out the Becks was alcohol free, he was sorry he didn't know! Went behind the bar to check and it there was only alcohol free left.7.Yesterday evening we passed the restaurant and saw it is now closed for redecoration. Should close down permanently.

Booked a table for a pre show dinner, on arrival they had lost booking, even though the person who took the booking phoned us back to confirm. Arrived just before 6pm, which would have given us ample time, as the show we were going to see didn't start until 8pm. After 20 minutes, still having trouble getting our drinks order right, consisting of only 4 drinks! Even then it was wrong, so we gave up on the drinks....Skipping the starter, we went just for the main course, which arrived around 7pm, the food was basic, but ok. Couldn't risk ordering a dessert for fear of missing the start of the performance.

We ate here before a show at the Cliffs Pavilion, it is only a few minutes walk away so good location. The food was good and not too expensive. Most tables were reserved but we arrived as they opened so managed to get one of the last available tables. Quite a basic restaurant and tables are close to one another. I would recommend booking as it is certainly worth a visit if going to a show.

Had breakfast in Estuary arches many times but never again. Food was very average and at £20 a head with a tea very expensive. White cheap thin bread for toast and some of the food was cold. Charged extra if wanted scrambled instead of poached/fried. One small sausage, one bacon, one hash brown and beans £13.95 plus £1 extra for scrambled egg. Two halves of the worst white bread. Steer clear - there are better places to have a breakfast along there.
