Great value...great place... definitely worth a visit

Very polite friendly staff but atmosphere spoilt by loud people on other tables who, I’m told, get in there regularly for cheap drinks.

It's a bit rough and ready. Food isn't exactly gourmet but it fills a hole and you can't beat the prices.

Decent place for breakfast, always tables free at 8am. Prices very reasonable and food is OK

I would give a zero if possible but based on the fact that All Wetherspoons have decided to go against the Supreme Courts decision and will allow biological men in to women’s toilets, my family and I will never go to one again- the toilets are dangerous for children- no thanks

Floor staff are great, however management team tend to be rude when you’ve complained about a wrong drink or haven’t received your drink in 40 minutes. Security are useless, cannot remember who they’ve asked for ID and get distracted when you give them ID. Watched them yell at someone on Saturday night for giving their ID to the other security guard as he wasn’t paying attention when they gave him their ID. You’ll get asked for ID after leaving and going outside for 30 seconds unless it’s after 11pm when they will let whoever they want in without asking for ID.

Cold food had to get refund on one meal as I had fished

The food is at a good level for a local weatherspoons pub and the dietary requirements of allergens are so clear and supported on It's a local low cost pub - the atmosphere of seating could be modernised as this has been the same for decades the pub attracts a diverse range of people from those with family, couples, groups of friends and a few solo individuals, it is very relaxed and has a lot of sports shown a great lively watch during World cups and euros in low cost so all ranges of friends can attend without worrying too much on cost

My partner and I dined here for his birthday weekend away fairly quiet for a Friday, lovely food, staff and service we will be back.

L Bar takes forever to get a beer even when you're first in line

Food tasted terrible, one of the plates came out wrong and when we asked if it could be corrected they refused to and gave us attitude about the situation. Part of the breakfast was cold and it just didnt taste great. Dont come here if you plan on having a nice day out

The most miserable staff I have ever encountered at a 'spoons. No niceties or thank you when served at the bar. Everyone here looks fed up. It wasn't particularly busy either. Jeez.....

Boss Wetherspoons that has all you’d ever want, local sports on that are associated with the area, it’s very busy and there’s a smoking area, two bars and toilets. The staff are very friendly and helpful, quick service and even clearing of the tables. Locals are also nice and friendly for anyone visiting the area. Overall it’s a sound pub with no issues.

Typical Spoons, short walk from train station and ideal to pop into before visiting the football.

Affordable, nice food, good coffee, comfortable seating and excellent staff. Lost a star on atmosphere because it is always too noisy there, but I think it's because of the building, it has a really high ceiling in the middle and so when it's lunch time-busy hours it gets super loud and overwhelming with the noise of everybody talking

Bit stingy with the beans, but food is always good. Staff alwaus rushed off their feet, but service is always very good.

We had breakfast here before we headed off to London. What a great start to our day. Beautiful food in a lovely atmosphere

The Food and Drinks were great. However Two Female staff members were beyond rude. They started Accusing us of giving our friend some alcohol even though they could clearly see that they didn’t drink anything. Going as far as to try and make us admit they did when they didn’t and even threatened us that they would check the cameras (Which by a professional standard, they should’ve done that first) I’m really disappointed in the way staff handled this situation and it’s something that we won’t tolerate. Sort your staff out.

Hi folks , I’ve frequented this establishment recently due to working in said area . I want to moan about a few things in the hope they read my review and take action but even if they don’t I will still frequent. Firstly on many occasions they do NOT open on time , hence leaving me standing outside freezing my Christmas ball balls off not very Christmasy I have to say . Secondly when I sat down on table 211 today there was a very strong smell of URINE that didn’t go down to well with my full breakfast , I had to snort the vinegar to carry on eating said breakfast. And last of all on several occasions my food has come out cold. This can all be rectified I’m sure and I hope on this occasion it will be . The staff are all very very nice people and very attentive at all times 5 stars 🌟 for that.

Food was lovely, the only problem was the mens toilets were dirty and someone opened the cubicle door and broke the lock off whilst my son was in there 😳

Cheep and cheerful! Popped in for some quick dinner and a couple of pints. Food was not the biggest portion, nor highest quality, but absolutely nothing bad about it. Very good value for money.

It was a Saturday lunchtime, so it was really busy. We placed our order via the app. The food didn't take too long to arrive. It was ok, although the jacket potato could have been bigger, and there was only a small amount of cheese, but it was ok.

Nice friendly polite staff. Good selections of ales. We sat outside as the weather was nice. Toilets ok they checked every half hour and wipe sinks down, though left main floor wet from washing hands. Had double burger and chips but not impressed as bun was a small one and not many chips, more like a child meal than adult. Did not think food was value for money. Luckily we went there for the ale. There were seven in our party.

Excellent service Excellent price Just the small fish and chips. The fish size is smaller than small. I've never ever seen one that size. Polite note for management. People are willing to pay more for a decent size. I wonder what the standard size fish and chips would have been - would it be a small size that is offered elsewhere. You're really cheap so making a change to portion size and costing accordingly would make people happier and make you guys more money too.

We only walked through to get to the next road, the place looks amazing! The day we were there the restaurant seemed full and what I saw of the food looked delicious! The staff were very friendly and very nice to everyone, people were very relaxed and enjoying themselves. We are planning to try the food ourselves very soon!

I do enjoy going for a quiet pint on my own, but with the background hubbub of a school dining hall. It's nice to feel the life flow through the place, in one door and out the other. Good prices too.

It’s a splendid place for a break. The steak was excellent.

Dined for lunch, dinner and breakfast, all meals where hot and delicious, the lunch and dinner meals super quick the breakfast slow. A packed Friday night meant the drinks were a tad slow, the staff work so hard trying their best.

Very Busy. Not very clean. Glasses piled up everywhere. Waiting staff seemed very busy. Bar staff coasting.

We came to stay at 'last post hotel' and pub. You can't beat the breakfast or the evening meal menus! Excellent value for money service with a smile and really helpful staff. We were blown away by the quality of the hotel accommodation and would defo recommend

Decided to give this place another try, although it was pretty poor on our last visit. Sadly, not much better. We ordered on the app, drinks were brought to our table but not what we ordered. My 13 year old wanted a j2o, she definitely didn't order a bottle of Hooch. After showing the waiter the receipt, he took the drinks away and went to speak to someone, then came back with what appeared to be the correct drinks,but the 3 Pepsi max that we ordered, on tasting them, were Pepsi max cherry, which none of us like. At this point we just gave up and waited for the food,which was OK but not great. The cutlery, like last time, was still wet from the dishwasher, yet not actually clean. It really put us off our food. There was a half finished drink on our table when we arrived. It was still there when we left. Didn't visit again during our 5 day stay in Southend.

We arrived on 12th August from beginning to end our week break here was lovely the staff were very polite an friendly an our room was very clean tidy an cool as we had the air con the food an breakfast was cooked very well an reasonable prices the sitting outside was very nice aswell in the garden where you could sit an have your meal the beach front an local shops near by an adventure theme park island just 10 mins up the road will definitely be comin back here enjoyed it very much

decided to go to spoons for a hangover breakfast (who let that happen) and the hangover was made bearable by the beautiful personality of our server sam (who we have dubbed george micheal) will definitely be coming back :)

I come here all the time and today Thier app took my money from my bank but never completed the payment. I was told I'd get the money back after the weekend. But my order had not gone through. That was my lunch money so back off to work with nothing to eat. The bar staff were super unhelpful and just turned away from me when I asked if that was all they could do as I had no other money for food now.

Nice spoons pub/hotel to be found right opposite Southend Central railway station, very roomy and clean premises. Good selection of Real ales, along with the normal ciders, Lagers and wines, very reasonably priced along with the typical spoons menu makes this a good place to visit. Would recommend.

Good place and good prices as all the whetherspoon pubs. However I had a problem with my whetherspoon APP that ordered twice because a connection problem but they did not receive the orders and I needed to order a third time in person. They told me that other people also had problem with the APP, so I strongly recommend ask for in person. They couldn't help me with the APP orders and I paid them twice by the APP.

We went in and found a table, went and ordered our lunch, but was told 👎 jacket potato, went back and asked my partner what I was told ,so back to the bar and ordered the salad 🥗 but was told sorry 😞 no salad, back and to my partner and told her no salad, back for the 3rd time and this is got my order, food arrived well cooked and tasty enjoyed the food. We will be back again, great staff 👍

I had an issue with something while staying at the Last Post and the staff (especially Ellie) went above and beyond to rectify it. It represents the straightforward service you receive from the company and has made me happy to continue considering Wetherspoons hotels in future. Thanks!

Good service, cheap drinks, what more can you ask for

Having useless doorman on the door picking on the wrong people for no reason think he knows it alll he need to be fired he useless and a bully he worked last night 30/06/24 watched what he did to couple of customers very not official he need to be fired asap

Food was ok, usual Wetherspoons standard. The main issue was having ordered a panini only half turned up on the plate so we asked where the rest of it was. The guy serving us said he would go and check. A minute later a colleague of be his came back saying she saw the plate leave the kitchen with both halves on the plate and she hadn’t seen it on the floor on the way to our table, implying I must have eaten it in the 30 seconds it took for the server to return with my daughter’s food. When we pointed this out, she stormed off muttering ‘it was on the plate’. We challenged her behaviour and asked to speak to a manager, and waited an hour before giving up and approaching a manager at the bar who seemed unaware of the attitude of their employees. The managers were apologetic stating that this particular colleague was usually very friendly, but made no further attempts to remedy the situation. An incredibly disappointing visit

Went on a nice summer Saturday. They were very busy. 90% of staff were totally ineffective in their jobs. They'll take food out to customers, but then walk back empty handed, when the tables around them were stacked with dirty plates and glasses. No urgency in cleaning tables so that the steady stream of customers then have somewhere to sit. They delivered our app drinks order, but didn't take our previous empty glasses back. Maybe they all live in the hope that the little fairies will miraculously come and clean the tables... Crazy thinking, poor working. Therefore the place looks dirty everywhere. Good prices though.

The staff is polite, helpful, attentive. The food is okay, what you expect from Wetherspoon. But the people that chain attracts... Oh my God. The lowest of the lowest of the lowest of the society... That kinda ruins the whole experience.

You never really know what's going to happen. Will you witness the local service users fighting eachother ? Will you have a chinwag with the OAPs sipping a John Smith's at 0700 on a Tuesday ? One thing you can always rely on is cheap pints and somewhat decent food. Table service can be hit and miss depending on what sort of day staff have. Love you and never change, post.

Cheap and cheerful , we liked the hard working staff here , nice to see the bar staff read the queue and serve the next customer not the queue jumper , our food was hot and no delay in arriving at the table despite being full on a Friday .

Good place for drinks but for food? I am not sure. I ordered nachos only to come without sour cream and was served from a manager and he didn't even notice it was missing sauce. I ordered wings with extra bourbon sauce or whatever its called? They served the wings and I was missing the sauces again? I ordered chicken strips and I was again missing sauce? I ordered pizza and I fell sick same day later on. They send pizza and looked like defrosted and microwaved? I was wrong not to ask for a replacement but who knew I was going to get sick from a pizza? By the way I am not easy going to get sick from bad food. Another day I ordered loaded chips and again a manager served me and they forgot the sour cream AGAIN.! the time you guys waste when dish is not served right its ridiculous. Pay attention on what you send out for crying put loud? And that will save you an extra trip on a busy day. Especially a manager should triple check food before send out? But who cares? I'm only a wetherspoons customer not a royal family member or something? I never ordered food again since. P.s i asked manager to bring back again a Buffalo trace bourbon whiskey that was on menu anyway and he said we can't stock again as no one orders and we throw away? Alcohol doesn't go bad guys you know that right? Also why you have on menu when you don't stock it I can't understand? Mark it on menus you don't have that in stock so customers know. ????? Waitresses most of them don't even smile. It's just one or two girls that do. And she wipe the tables as well which is so rare in this place apparently. I am not a guy that wants servers to be super slick buy come on at least try to look nice before you show up to serve customers behind the bar and a smile goes a long way. Hospitality staff should try and smile. No? Am I asking too much? No smile no tip I guess? That's why no one tips. P.s men's toilet is always soaking wet from piss on the floor. When you are dressed smart and going out the last thing you want is piss on your nice shoes? They could probably try and mop but again who cares? We are not royals we are just customers. And no I am not the one soaking the floor wet I know how to aim. I never used the hotel but seems busy so it must do something right on that end. I do recommend for drinks but food not really. P.s I still want to try the new ramen noodle dish but 7 pounds and no meat and no egg in there just for veg and noodles? Also I have an allergy on that dish and there is no way to remove something when you order online through the wetherspoons app. Do you accommodate allergies guys or not? I don't think so...
