Stopped here for a quick bite in the evening whilst passing through. Limited menu, I had pie and chips. It was hot and tasty so no complaints. I sat at a small corner table and when I went to put my bag on the floor my elbow got caught up in a whole nest of cobwebs that ran floor to ceiling. Moved to a different table and when I looked at the carpet it was glistening with slug slime! Yes you read that right!! Trails and trails of slug slime all over the carpet. I went to put my bag on the chair next to me. The chairs are covered with faded pink felt like fabric that would have been all the rage in the 70s but it was thick with long hairs all trapped in the fabric. The window sills were covered with dead flies. The bar man - am I allowed to say man in these politically correct times?? The bar person / server was however very friendly, welcoming and polite. Very depressing place, definitely needs a clean and makeover.

My wife and I had lunch in Squires Café,I had the fish pie if you call it that ,my wife had savoury cheese scone and a pot of tea for twoThe scone was not fresh ,dry which was not good seen has the Café is a bakery. The so called fish pie came with three veg very dry no potatoes which should have been on the plate. When we were paying i told the cashier that my meal had potatoes and that they were on the menu with my meal she said sorry about that and that was no reduction in bill.

Having dined here before ahead of a show I found it disappointing on this occasion. Sea bream starter - fish was undercooked and the coleslaw over seasoned. Large piece of chicken for main however the tomato and cheese topping was overpowering. Too much dressing on the caesar salad for my taste.

Average, the food personally not nice. You can taste cheap food. Even the ketchup isn’t nice because it’s cheap. You have to put into your business to make it work. It’s the little things that matter. If I ever Cole back to Yarmouth I wouldn’t come here again.

The pub is nice and clean , really like the decor, bar man didn't really seem to want to be there and made it quite apparent. We walked up to bar and I was quite excited to see certain cocktails on tap but was told quite bluntly they don't work straight away put a downer on things. Then he's whole demeanor was not suitable for front of house.

A very pleasant vista of Northey Island and the Blackwater Estuary. A pleasant lunch menu with a good range of sandwiches and associated fare including cakes and pastries. A bit of a negative is the parking situation which should really be explained on their website. Cafe patrons need to use the Osea caravan park car park. Monies need to be paid at the office next to the barrier. The charges were £1 per hour plus a admin charge of 20p, quite reasonable but the protocol should be explained on the website. Failure to pay will amount to a £100 fine. Its all managed remotely by a ANPR system, so no payment equals a fine.

Royal hotel was recommended to us by a couple of people so we booked it got up there early had a nice few drinks before dinner staff are very friendly food was lovely haddock and chips with minted mushy peas was delicious very reasonably priced. Was a bit concerned when we first arrived as restaurant was empty but it soon filled up as the evening went on the place is very clean on attending the public gents there was toilet tissue over the floor as you do get some disgusting people but when I returned some 40 minutes later it was tidied up so proof they do keep an I on it. If returning to the area I would definitely eat here again or even stay here seems a nice hotel.

Don’t take card, either they’re on the fiddle or want their business to fail, who doesn’t accept card payments in 2024 ?? Rude staff… The chap who seemed to be either the manager or at least senior enough, verbally confronted me across the premises when I said jokingly I’d have a word with the Pier management about the Chip shop not accepting card payments - he said ‘What are they gonna do?’ Obviously this chap had not had the best day that day, or, he doesn’t have a great working relationship with the Pier management. Anyhow, his loss, there’s other places to buy chips in Clacton. I won’t be spending my cash there again.

Welcoming, friendly pub. We stayed at 6 Little Wells which was also beautiful. Pub just a few min walk from cottage serving food 6-8pm - menu varies day to day. It is what it is - good honest homecooked food. If you want posh drive a bit down the road to South Creake but pay alot more.
