It’s always wonderful to visit Fritton Lake, laid back luxury with such beautiful grounds, great food and lovely atmosphere. Every member of staff is so friendly and helpful, the Club House beautifully decorated. It’s a rare treat to find somewhere as lovely as this, and it’s dog friendly!

Enjoyed a lovely evening at the Fritton Arms, great menu, reasonably priced, quality food and drinks. Great relaxed atmosphere and like the idea most of the items on the menu are from the estate. Very child and dog friendly, look forward to returning.

Impeccable service, friendly and professional. Delicious food, excellent quality ingredients and tasty. Cosy and smart pub/restaurant, beautiful environment. I loved the crockery too, so chic, unique and artistic/creative, felt lovely and comforting to hold and touch. Wonderful art and photography too. Chocolate fondant was sensational! Dahl and potatoes were heart-warming and enriching. Lovely, spacious, smart and clean loos.

I had the hogget loin and it was nice but the portion was small and most of the meat was fat. The sauce was really spicy and they didn’t make this clear in the menu. The Bakewell tart was very nice but the pistachio ice cream tasted like vanilla.

Had a family meal here while visiting the area and was left very dissatisfied. Ordered the steak pie which turned out to be more like a small tart. Came with a table spoon amount of mashed potato and a small amount of greens. My wife had the chicken breast which was was tasty but literally came with one salad potato cut in half. Although we're not the biggest Easters, I feel this was very poor value when paying £22.50 for each one. Also, they have a separate menu for staying guests with much more choice. Would avoid if ever in the area again.

Visited whilst on a family staycation although not staying there. At first was warmly welcomed, they had plenty of space and food; then when they realised we weren’t guests of hotel or members we were booted out! Felt bad for the bartender having the relay the message to us, he actually gave us a really nice local recommendation.

Excellent Sunday lunch. There were three of us and a dog. We were seated in the round table within the bay of the sitting room. There was a welcoming fire and we had excellent service. We all had the roast; two of us chose pork and one chose beef. Lovely meal, served piping hot, with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, parsnips and carrots on the plate and further vegetables ( leeks and cauliflower cheese) in a separate dish. The apple sauce to accompany the pork was home made. We thought the price was very reasonable. Would happily return.

Booked for Sunday Lunch for 6 adults and three children. We chose a time (4 pm) when we thought restaurant would be quiet to make things easier for the staff. The booking did warn that we would need 2 high chairs and one person would need gluten free food. Table was ready on arrival but no high chairs provided but that was dealt with pleasantly by a member of staff. We ordered food and asked if the children's meals could be served at the same time as the adult starters. Waited approximately 50 minutes for food and 2 of the children's meals were only just warm. It took one and a half hours before the man meals arrived . Portions not exactly generous but each cold and the order for a gluten free meal did not seem to have made its way to the kitchen. By now we were all hungry, children tired and all thoroughly disappointed that a simple family outing for lunch could become such a disaster. We all decided that we would just pay for our drinks and the food we had eaten and leave hungry. Nobody seemed particularly bothered and no real effort at an apology. There seemed to be no organisation and very little idea of customer service. Could not recommend to anybody.

We had lunch here 4 years ago when we thought the food was good. As we were in the area we paid a return visit. The only meal we fancied on the menu was the chicken & chorizo which we ordered. It consisted of 1 breast, 3 small pieces of roast cauliflower, chunks of chorizo and 1 fondant potato each , It tasted OK but was very overpriced at £17.95 and poor value. There were two other diners in the restaurant when we sat down but just before our meals were served we noticed they had send their food back and left without eating ! There are many very good restaurants in Norfolk offering excellent 2 course lunches for £18.00 our less Fritton Arms take note.

It seems every time I come here things get a bit better, still not perfect but it is improving, the bar is still excellent, although the drinks seemed expensive this time round. But back to the food, again not cheap but the service is fine and the food is of good quality, my friend had the Beef, bit rare for me, but my friend said it was very tender and tasty, the 2 ladies had Chicken which was nice and I had the Pork, very nice indeed and not at all fatty like some pork.My only gripe really is I'm not a fan of al dente veg, I don't want "mush" but I also do't want to lose a filling!Cook the veg to the customers choice! That aside this is a good place for a meal!

The food at The Fritton Arms is of the highest quality and good value. For mains, I had Duck with my wife chasing Lamb. Both were lovely being exquisitely presented and very tasty. We come here at least a couple of times a year and it's always outstanding. The venison was unbelievable. The cooking is really high quality. The service is personable and friendly. They can whip up bespoke stuff in the kitchen if the menu doesn't totally suit. The pasta they did for us last night was delicious. The apple crumble was amazing. The custard was dreamy such that we ordered extra! The shiraz wine was fantastic. Starters were really interesting and tasty. Lovely dining room. It is a boutique hotel though and the noisy kids in the playroom ( usually the private dining area) did affect the atmosphere as there's no music and few other diners. But I've never had that happen before and it wouldn't put me off from revisit but they need a separate play area. It's a personalised place. Sometimes the dishes might not be available. It's not a big joint. But the surroundings are so relaxed it's like being at a friend's house. Well I wish I had friends with houses like this. It's a stunning country house! Wonderful place.

I have been critical of the food in this place in the past, it's was overpriced & undersized, with a lack of choice. But it has a new manager and some new staff, plus it's been updated a bit, the atmosphere is still really nice and the food has been improved. It's still not perfect, but it is much better. In my opinion the choices are still limited, and the portions could still be a bit larger, but what I had was very nice, and the staff where extremely helpful, I asked for more gravy and it was there like a shot, and very tasty it was too, when asked at the end of the meal if everything was ok, I mentioned that more than 2 roast potatoes would have been better and the very helpful member of staff said I should have just asked, so my fault a bit.All 4 of us had desserts and they were all different and all very nice. So, much better now and I'd definitely recommend the restaurant.Just popping in for a drink is a good option as well, it's a cracking bar, with nice log fires and loads of character.

Nice building and really nice waiting staff but food is sadly nothing special. Restaurant menu is very expensive and options sound pretentious but what you actually get is quite average. My partner had what was essentially a duck leg with potatoes, no sauce or gravy and the potatoes were quote hard, not sure if that was intentional. There was nothing on the menu I fancied so I ordered from the bar menu. I had steak which was very good bit the chips were dreadful, tasteless and very soggy, and the only other things it came with was half a tomato and a mushroom. No option for sauces which considering the cost of the meal is a bit poor.

I decided to give this restaurant another try after being very disappointed with the poor food a couple of years ago, so my friend & I visited here for lunch & surprised to find it nearly empty & were greeted & shown to our table by a waitress, there wasn't much on the small choice of menu that we fancied, but we ordered the cod, chips & peas which came after a short wait but my friends cod was raw! She put her finger in it & it was stone cold! She sent it back & they cooked her another one but by the time she got it I'd nearly finished mine! The waitress was very apologetic & said we can have a drink on the house so we had coffees but it did not make up for the disastrous meal & I think my friend should have had a free meal! I had visited the fritton arms for a coffee with a work colleague and instantly thought what a great set up.... a really shabby chic venue with outside facilities for the kids to enjoy. I therefore booked us in for the following week. I’d seen people having horse rides so enquired about this and was told it was £4 per child.... bargain I thought! We also booked the heated pool for an hour which was included in the £5pp ‘resort fee’ all felt fairly reasonable (although annoying that adults get charged too)... we were told no picnics which is odd for a place with a campsite and shed loads of picnic tables but we thought we’d enjoy lunch in the pub.

First up, sort the wasps! It only needs a few wasp tattoos in the garden and trees outside. The restaurant was invested with wasps which Mage it very hard to enjoy. Service was pretty good, but be aware that you will probably want starters and a main. Hadn’t been here so far this year so was really looking forward to coming back, as were my children. So, I recommended to a friend and we met there for - supposedly lunch and a play. On arrival, I asked if we could sit outside only to be informed (quite abruptly) about this new £5 charge each (so £25 in total for the 5 of us) to play in the Park should we ‘venture beyond the beer garden’. We were surprised at this as this is ‘new news’ to me. On previous visits you have either paid and displayed or used the pub and been able to wander through freely. Once you’re outside the children can clearly see the play area so it’s rather unfair not to let them use it but very expensive if you only want to go for half an hour or so - as we did today. I had looked at the website this morning and this wasn’t obvious, if it is on there.

On top of the awful service, they charge £5 per child for access to the, previously free, park on the grounds, moreover they charge the same for the ADULTS to supervise their children. Meaning £20 for two adults and two children to access it. On answering yes we were told that it would cost £5 to use the play facilities and that would be for each of us. On asking why this was the case as us oldies only wanted refreshments we were told that the £15 cost could be refunded off the cost of a meal but as they had finished serving food for the day that didn't apply in our case. At £15 to get access to buy coffee and snacks and watch our Grandson play for an hour you can keep it. Polite exit and no plan to return. However, on both occasions the girls serving aren't very good, often forgetting what you've asked for, and not attentive at all, and the waitresses last night were different to the first time we came here. The maître d' was excellent though. He needs to train his staff though.

My wife and I went for lunch on a bright, sunny day. Found the restaurant at the end of a long quiet country lane surrounded by green fields, lovely setting. Chose to go straight to our table, handed a clip board containing the menu which was printed on rather tatty brown paper, not very easy to read. Not an extensive menu, 4 starters,(one of them a cheese and onion baked potato), 6 mains, (two of them fish) and 6 sweets. We both chose the same starter and main, Lowestoft Smoked salmon with beetroot and 'treacle' bread. Our mains were Roasted estate pigeon on cavallo nero with truffle potato cake. The service was attentive and good. While we waited for our starters we looked about us. Very nice room, exposed beams with windows looking onto the sunny patio area where more dinners were sitting at outdoor tables. All appeared to be holiday makers wearing holiday gear, one man in a singlet.

Set in beautiful surroundings this is a lovely place to have an evening meal. There were 4 of us and we were all happy with the food, one small niggle, I don't eat red meat and there wasn't a chicken option on the menu, having said that I had one of the best vegetarian meals I have ever had. The service is excellent, professional and very friendly. However, we returned a couple of days later in the afternoon for a lunch. You could order the full evening meals or there were 3 or 4 light bites available which were things like oysters, squid, not things you would want for a light lunch. Another party of people there also agreed there was nothing they would order for lunch. Would go back for evening meal but not during the day.

although tucked out of the way I am not surprised this is so busy, our rooms were ready when we arrived and have the wow factor, beautifully decorated and so comfortable, our friends room was more like a suite! they have a gin menu all with different accompaniments served in great bowl shaped glasses, service in the bar was slow however. our meal in the evening was fabulous, great menu, not too much choice so you know everything is fresh & beautifully presented. they don't have a pepper grinder on the table so I asked for black pepper and the waitress was quite rude when she brought it to the table - she said you do know there's pepper on the table! apart from her everyone was absolutely delightful. our breakfast on sunday was lovely, again good choice, well cooked and presented. would have no hesitation in going back, there is so much to do and see in the surrounding areas.

Hace unos días mi marido y yo fuimos a almorzar allí. Demasiado caro. No vamos a volver.

Excelente.

Very disappointed! There were 4 of us and the food was not nice. Sausage and mash….mash had lumps and the sausages looked undercooked as were white! Steak & Ale pie….burnt and the inside was dried out like it had been reheated more than once. Beef roast dinner was the worst we had ever had, roast potatoes were burnt! Will never go back there as the customer service was non existent! Not once did someone come to the table to ask if everything was as ok.

On our first night in Great Yarmouth we wondered into the "Marine" looking for some food. The Pub was quiet, and all the Staff were genuinely friendly. My Wife has Gallstones and is waiting an Operation so has to be so careful what she eats, the Staff were able to adapt a Prawn Salad for her, which we appreciated. I'm a huge Pie guy, and I chose the Homemade Steak and Ale Pie, which was a bit special, and I can't say I've eaten many, if any better. It's truly delicious. Thanks to everyone there for a lovely meal. Definitely drop in and try the Homemade Steak and Ale Pie.

I was overcharged at the wet fish shop. I would advise to always check the weights and the prices.
