The best restaurants in East of England

Ordered a takeaway for my wife’s birthday. Ordered at 7pm and was given an estimated delivery time of 8pm. I called at 8:30pm to see where the food was and was very abruptly told that the food was on its way. I called again at 8:55pm and was told that the driver had broken down but that another driver had been sent to collect our order. I called again at 9:24pm and they said they would get in touch with the driver to see what was going on and call me back immediately. Of course, nobody called me back, so I called again at 9:39pm. Now they seemingly had no idea what had happened to the two ‘missing’ drivers (or our food) but I was assured that yet another driver had been sent with a “new” order they had just cooked for us. At 9:51pm I get a call - apparently the latest driver had also broken down - by my count, the third driver that night; the 10 min drive from the restaurant to our house is either the most treacherous road in the UK or maybe, just maybe, they were lying. I was told that if I wanted the food, I would have to come get it myself (they obviously didn’t want to lose a 4th driver into the Bermuda Triangle that has apparently opened up in Ipswich). I politely declined. Luckily I ordered through Deliveroo who processed a full refund immediately - I wonder how many times my refund would have gotten ‘lost’ if the restaurant was processing it….. One to avoid if you like to actually receive your food

Me and my family (a group of 11) booked in for a Mother’s Day lunch and the food/service was amazing from the beginning to end! The venue was beautiful and we warmly greeted by Gary who couldn’t do more for us! We all had the carvery was excellent, a proper home cooked meal with all the trimmings! We finished off with desserts that were so yummy too! Overall we were so impressed and can’t wait to come back!

Bit expensive for sharing a pot of tea and 2 small scones £12. Scones took forever to come out and weren't warmed so don't know why. Just put it on a plate? Oh well, people seem to like it so maybe a bad day?

To start, We were seated to a table that had not been cleaned very well, we asked a staff member to clean it as there was a lump of beans in the middle of the table, the member of staff grumpily removed it, and was aggressive moving chairs and tables. We then ordered drinks and food, where our drinks took forever, I could see staff members on their phones taking videos, possibly for the media, but rather mucking around and being incredibly loud.. our drinks came, only to what was awful, stone cold with one drink with a lipstick mark on my cup!!! so had to get others.. we then received our meal, on a dirty plate, with cheap food, that lacked flavour. incredibly poor quality.. and the prices, wow!!! Cold Chips are so expensive, along with cold meals.. again the member of staff just apologised about it, and just smiled. Not good enough. We are so disappointed.

We did not have food, so not fair to comment. Friendly welcoming atmosphere. Amazing live music. Good beer at a good price. Great place for a night out. I will certainly be using again.

Visiting a local event and my daughter wanted sushi , we opted to try VIP sushi and we are not disappointed the sushi is exceptionally good , we collected from a house which I was a little unsure about but communications form vip sushi were great 100% recommend you trying VIP sushi

Healthy food at bright and airy cafe, tucked in a green neighborhood. The men doesn’t say much but rest assured the food tastes good :) Smoked salmon open rye sandwich with “a little bit of salad”— somehow both larger than it looks on the counter XD The bread is nutty and naturally sweet and moist melts in mouth. I don’t usually eat mayo but the horseradish mayo is light. The salmon comes in generous portion and again more than it appears. Love the salad! Never imagined beetroot and carrot go so well together. The toasted hazelnut is so aromatic. And the goat cheese :D My friend says the americano tastes good so I got a flat white. Balanced with some molasses notes. The lady behind the counter is super friendly ^^

Warm welcome and a homely traditional county pub. Great people on both sides of the bar.

They very kindly put on an afternoon tea for my family at very short notice I couldn't fault the staff,service or food. Nothing was too much trouble,they looked after us all and made it extra special for my granddaughters who loved it. Thank you

What a fantastic place...finally got round to visiting to try some food and painted a mug. The food options were brilliant and very well priced, when the food came it was excellent quality and served by very polite and friendly staff. So many options for painting to suit all price ranges and it includes glazing so you pick up your finished piece when you get a message from them. Absolutely loved it and will definitely go back.

food not been delivered. waiting more than hour and still haven't been served, app say that its delivered, but it wasnt.
