The Kitchen in North Norfolk

Clean, tidy and comfortable, Simple fare made to order was quite satisfying for lunch. There seemed to be a significant number of regular/local customers, which is always a good sign. Fairly fast service, prices a little high, but then this is a seaside town!

Having arrived in Sheringham after a good walk, we were very much looking forward to a decent coffee. We weren’t disappointed, because the coffee was delicious. Their granola flapjack was packed with fruit & seeds. They told us they’d even weighed one for a diabetic customer. What service! The table service really friendly & their loo was gorgeous, with ‘posh soap’ & matching hand cream. The Kitchen is in the middle of Station Road, so very handy for both train stations, the bus station & the beach. Quite a find!

Very clean, very friendly and good prices. Be patient everything is cooked to order. They go out of their way to accommodate for a larger party if needed by moving furniture which we witnessed on our visit, only for the party to then up and leave as they felt the service was to slow. The party that left didn't know what they missed. We had the crumpets and it was lovely to receive 3 butters not the usual two that go nowhere on a scone, crumpet or tea cake. The pot of tea was also really nice. We will if/when returning to Sheringham definitely return. They are a popular cafe so if you see a seat grab it and wait you won't be disappointed.

Very accommodating, pushed tables together for our group of 5. Our order was taken quickly and the food arrived promptly and was tasty. They even gave the kids a little sweet at the end of our meal. Unfortunately a large group arrived and weren't happy about having to wait to have their order taken so left rather loudly, the older lady was very rude as she left ( even after the group had a couple move so they could sit together and the owner once again pushed tables together for them). I think people forget these small cafes have small teams and sometimes patience and manners go a long way!

Our first family trip to Sheringham and we were greeted by the rude male member of staff/owner. We enquired about a table for 9 and simply just said “no!” rather rudely! Pretty sure it was because he spotted our buggy as there was clearly enough space inside for 6 adults and 3 kids. If he’d simply explained politely that it was due to our party size etc, we might have understood but to just simply say NO abruptly, so unwelcoming and rude! Will not be back.

Delicious lunch. Jim’s home made mackerel pate on granary toast was memorable. What’s not to love. Everyone enjoyed their meal. What a lovely place.

3 of us and 2 dogs stopped here for coffee and sandwiches. The staff are really pleasant people and nothing was too much trouble. The size of the sandwiches was impressive and at a very fair price. The cafe is spotlessly clean and very bright and cheerful. We will call again next year.

I’ve been meaning to visit The Kitchen for a while after hearing so many good things about the breakfast. After a very warm welcome from the owners, it was lovely to see a smile first thing. I chose to have the smaller breakfast and a latte and served with a smile. Wow, the breakfast was fantastic and piping hot which was even better. Would definitely go again and highly recommend to anyone!

We went here for breakfast on our last morning in Sheringham and had a wonderful meal, I had the full English cooked to perfection and piping hot, very filling too, my wife had beans on toast and there must have been a full tin of beans, also piping hot. The staff/owners were very friendly and helpful, they let us in even though we had our rather wet Labrador with us (THANK YOU). Would definitely recommend a visit all the food that came out while we were there looked lovely.

Great food, cooked well and served with a smile(no xtra charge) What i found was something i have never seen before and such a simple idea. Sachas of sauces are so difficult to open and messy but the owner's here have cracked it. In with the sauces are a pair of small scissors which you cut the top off. Genius. The cutlery was not the usual cheap utensils. The serviette was soft and very large, great for me . What an eye opener. Well worth a visit and not expensive

I had the pleasure of visiting The Kitchen yesterday with a friend. What a wonderful experience!We were welcomed into the establishment by very friendly staff who showed us to a table and promptly took our orderOur coffee arrived moments later (the double shot latte is amazing by the way !!) followed by our cooked breakfast. This was freshly cooked and well presented. We chose “The Small Breakfast” which is very substantial and only £6:50. Great value for money.I whole heartedly recommend this restaurant for friendliness, service, quality of products, price and location.We shall definitely be returning again very soon.

We tried several places for coffee/light snacks during our 10 day stay in the area but found nowhere to match this place. The coffee is excellent, the kids loved the milkshakes and we can highly recommend the cakes, especially the liem and coconut. Super clean loos.

Came for a coffee and we were seated quickly and all servers where friendly, lovely decorations and the mochas were amazing. Good gluten free options, Would highly recommend

We sat outside and were offered a table inside as soon as one was available with out having to ask. We ordered breakfast and coffee’s. The drinks and food all very tasty and hot. The flavour was outstanding of each item of the breakfast. The service was friendly and outstanding value Thank you

Had breakfast here on our last day in Sheringham and we were not disappointed. The full English was excellent, good value, spotlessly clean establishment and service with a smile without being intrusive. Would definitely recommend.

WE were lucky to get a seat at this very popular cafe, we had tried twice before. Food and service exellent. The Home made Mackerel Pate is spot on, A good , varied menu

This cafe is fantastic. Very friendly staff, very relaxing atmosphere and spotlessly clean.My partner had the sausage sandwich, three large plump sausages which were excellent quality, the bread was very fresh, The cheese and ham bagel which I had, was served up in two halves. It was literally stacked with thick cut Norfolk ham. The coffee was always hot and fresh.We visited several times, the quality was consistently excellent. What a great place.

Very nice breakfast, beautifully cooked and plenty to fill you up! Nice choice on menu and some nice looking cakes for later in the day!Service is great and very chatty staff. Very good value food and coffee. Tables cleaned down very well after vacated and ready for new customers, there is often a short queue but tables are serviced quickly. Fresh crab sandwich was excellent. Nice and clean, a very good place for a snack and a cuppa. Worth a visit, well situated in High Street.

Lovely place, stylish, and very clean. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. We went for breakfast and we all opted for the full English. It was delicious, good quality- particularly the mushrooms, and fast service. Would defo recommend. :)

It is so rare to find a full breakfast at a cafe that lives up to the anticipation, indeed in half a century of cafe going I can count the breakfasts that come up to the mark on one hand. I am pleased to say the kitchen breakfast is number one. The sausages and bacon were beautiful and the eggs perfectly cooked. Everything was piping hot. I really wasn’t expecting this and couldn’t be happier with the surprise. Don’t miss the experience when you are in Sheringham.

We decided to have a spot of lunch during our day out to Sheringham. It was busy but we eventually settled on trying the Kitchen. So glad we did the place was well appointed with good space between people and had a vert friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We ordered our food, a mix of sandwiches and bacon rolls, all of which was very tasty. One thing that caught my eye was the condiments came with a small pair of scissors to help rather than trying to tear them with your teeth. A simple but clever and effective idea. We sat inside but there was the option to also sit outside, if you preferred. All in all a very good experience

Lovely crab sandwich,made with good quality bread. Son had a ham sandwich which was thick slices of ham and plenty of it. Served quickly with a smile and joke. Definitely recommend

On Station Road amongst the varied shops, perfect for a coffee or lunch. Food prepared fresh and served without too long a wait. Staff friendly. Reasonably priced.

Absolutely fabulous, we had a small breakfast here, I had a veggie my husband had meat, the filter coffee is soo tasty !! We had a great experience here the gentleman and lady serving are soo nice and chatty and certainly made us feel welcome, nothing is to much trouble, I was really impressed with the way people were made to feel lots of local people came in and were treated like friends and the owner certainly new what there order was going to be !!! It was a great place to be almost felt like a "hub" of the community, we had never visited sheringham before it's a great little high st with lotsa of local shops !! We would defiantly recommend " the kitchen" the food is fab and sparkling clean,with a friendly face Thank you

Popped in here for a light lunch after a trip on North Norfolk Railway. Very pleasant and friendly reception and we had excellent sandwiches of crab and ham. Very reasonable price for the quality of food and service. Very highly recommended.

We wanted a well cooked English breakfast in Sheringham and the reviews for this new establishment looked good so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed, the service was prompt and efficient, the food was well cooked and the place was spotlessly clean and an enjoyable family breakfast was had by all. If you are a tourist I can assure you that such a standard is rare in Sheringham, as I’ve found out to my chagrin over the last fifteen years. Highly recommended.

My husband and I visited with our 1year old. Food was tasty. Very clean and friendly service. They had high chairs and a good baby change area.

High expectations after reading the reviews but unfortunately, not good. We order the ploughman’s and it was essentially a cheese salad with some pickle served with 2 slices of white bread! On asking for some crusty bread I was told they could toast a hotdog?!?! If you visit, stick with the teacakes.

We had a very satisfactory lunch , crab sandwich, Club sandwich cheese on toast with chutney, and fish finger sandwich. I would of rated excellent ( the staff were friendly and the food and drink good) but was a little disappointed at the customer relations or lack of it. I personally think it is bad etiquette to clear plates when people are still sat eating, maybe I’m old fashioned. I stopped eating my meal when I found a dead large fly in my salad obviously this put me off and mentioned it to the waitress that came to clear the rest of the pots that hadn’t already been cleared! All I wanted was to make them aware to prevent it happening to other dinners. No apologies, thanks for making us aware - very little response except her saying we were eating outside so it must have flew in to the salad the fly in question was decomposing nicely, not freshly flown in

We stopped for tea at lunch, lovely place, very clean and a warm welcome. Everything we ordered was very good quality and arrived quickly, the staff were all very friendly. Very dog friendly and the baby changing is very well catered. Would not hesitate in going back!!

We have been using this casfe whenever we go the Sheringham, we find the food is of good quality, tasty and good value for money.

Absolutely beautiful place. Staff so very pleasant. Varied menu at reasonable prices. Filter coffee £2.00, with free refill. What's not to love. An absolute must for a coffee /lunch stop. Enjoy people!

Lovely cafe that catered well for both the children and a member of our party that can’t eat gluten with the added bonus of allowing dogs inside. Food nice and reasonably priced. Will definitely go again when next in Sheringham

Visited today during an exceptionally busy day in town as a family of five. From our arrival point the team could not do enough for us to make our lunch less chaotic (with 3 kids under 5). The food was all excellent, freshly made and the flat white was perfectly made.

Felt very welcomed, very lovely warm place, nice and open, small outdoor space in front. Great service, good value.

We went to The Kitchen twice on a 2 day visit to Sheringham, we couldn’t resist going back a 2nd time! Service is friendly and efficient, and I can recommend the ploughman’s and the crab sandwiches! The whole place is clean and fresh and Theresa lovely shady pit round the side if you need a break from the glorious Norfolk sunshine. Doubtless we will be back to The Kitchen on our next visit!

Great full english, clean and tasty, we would definitely go again when back in Sheringham. Didnt open until 10am so almost missed it, so glad we didnt. Dogs welcome and nice staff

My wife and i found the kitchen a lovely place to have a meal. The staff were very friendly. the food was fresh coocked well and tasted delicious. there was a good selection of tea and coffee to drink all at good prices.

Visited here fro lunch today 27rh May, 2019. The restaurant was very clean; the staff were welcoming and helpful. The food we ordered was lovely and arrived at the table very promptly.It was well prepared and lovely. The atmosphere was friendly in the restaurant. It was exceptionally clean, and i would visit again.

We have visited here a couple of times for breakfast now and as the title says we think this is the best in Sheringham! The food is amazing, the staff/owners are extremely friendly and can’t do enough for you and the restaurant itself is modern, clean and generally very nice. Highly recommend!

We were very pleasantly surprised by this small cafe/restaurant in Sheringham’s Main Street. It was exceptional clean and hygienic both in the sitting areas inside and outside and with very modern clean and hygienic toilet facilities. The service was very friendly, quick and helpful. We opted for sandwiches which were excellent and very reasonably priced, a jug of water was brought to our table too

Visited the Kitchen today and had 5 thoroughly delightful breakfasts, cannot fault. Sausages very tasty was was the bacon. Very friendly and a warm welcome upon arrival. Dogs are welcomed as well. Cakes look amazing and the coffee is good too. Nothing is too much trouble and they are happy to make substitutions for items on the plate if required. This place is so good that we have a weekly table reservation for breakfast on Saturdays!

I have no hesitation in saying that this is the best place in Sheringham for breakfast. This is our regular "haunt" whenever we're planning on having breakfast in town. The food is always delicious and piping hot, as are the hot drinks. The staff are always friendly and have a personal touch which we really appreciate (such as phoning us when a table becomes free during their busy periods !).

Small but organised well to provide a good service. The staff were so pleasant and had good sense of humour! Coffees and snacks excellent and the cooked breakfast looked hot and appetising and of good portion sizes. Tea cakes and crumpets were excellent.

I’ve visited this local to me cafe/restaurant on three lunchtime occasions recently. Whether it was for a coffee and cake or a more substantial lunch, all tasted fresh and were of generous portions. Well worth a visit and have no hesitation in recommending.

We dropped into The Kitchen for brunch on a rainy Tuesday morning. It looked busy from the outside, so always a good sign, we gave it a go. The restaurant is small but cosy and clean. We arrived at that awkward brunch time - 11.20am and the menu stated that breakfast options finished at 11.30am. With 10 minutes to go, we decided to go for 2 full English breakfasts at £8 (not including tea or coffee), as frankly the rest of the menu seemed pretty uninspiring. The waitress who served us was very friendly and service was quick. I went to the bathroom while we waited and it was probably the cleanest I have seen in a long time - especially considering it was the only toilet in the restaurant and shared between men and women. The fry ups arrived about 8 mins after ordering and while it was quite substantial (2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, beans, tomato, fried mushrooms and a hash brown) it became quite clear that we were victims of the 'final service' before breakfast finished. In other words, the food tasted like it had been sitting there for a while and would probably have made the bin had we not arrived in at that particular time. The (one) hash brown was dry, cold and tasteless. The beans were FREEZING, the sausages tasted very oddly and the mushrooms were slightly watery. Only the eggs were cooked well (obviously had to be cooked from scratch). The Americano at £2.50 was fine but nothing to write home about. Overall, it tasted like canteen food that had been sitting there for hours. It is a shame that customers cannot get the same service and quality for their meals - regardless of what time they arrive in. To be given the dregs of the breakfast service just as it is about to finish is unacceptable. A shame because the staff and atmosphere was lovely but will not return.

After a day on the beach and shopping in Sheringham it was lovely to enjoy coffee and cookies A lovely place, where the staff a welcoming and helpful. An excellent choice of coffees and cakes.

This is a modern style gem in an old seaside town. Tastefully decorated, bags of style and great coffee. The owners are lovely to talk to. A stop off for a quick coffee or other edible treats.

There were 6 of us, we called in for breakfast and the staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was great, everywhere was spotless and the toilets were immaculate, would definitely recommend and will return again if in Sheringham

Pop in for a latte; no question best one in Sheringham. Piping hot every time. Fantastic staff, great customer service. Award winning tarts & do a fabulous private function for you..... just ask. Made my Dad very happy when they organised his 70th meal, exceptionally good value (and lovely loo’s!!)!

I always go on a Saturday for my lunch break when I'm working. I usually have a baked potato ( Slimming World friendly!) Beans or prawns are my filling of choice, and they are the best and most generously filled potatoes I've had. The huz sometimes has a ploughman which looks amazing too. The owners are warm and friendly, making it a great place to go, there is a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, we love it!

What a little gem! We've been to the Kitchen a couple of times and love it! Popular with locals and visitors, the food is lovely, the owners are friendly and very helpful.

A small contemporary restaurant on the High Street with tables both inside and outside. I had the full English cooked breakfast and the quality of the food was exceptional. It is clearly a favourite with locals given the banter being had between the owners and what were clearly regular customers. A little gem. The quality of the food and of their very good coffee is reflected in slightly higher prices than you would expect at a ‘standard’ cafe, but The Kitchen offers higher quality service and food.

Sunday fried breakfast today, Prompt and delicious as usual, they are happy to swap items between plates so that the wife and I can eat the bits we like.

Stopped at the kitchen on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Ordered bacon and egg bap, one normal, one gluten free (two rolls served). Both very good, lovely runny egg, washed down with cup of good coffee.

We visited the cafe with our two little ones. The couple serving were warm and welcoming. We all enjoyed our lunches very much including my toddler! The cafe is well catered for families and had excellent baby changing facilities, not just a pull out table in the disabled loo as is the norm. We will be visiting again. The ice coffee alone is worth the return visit.

A really lovely café to stop and have lunch whilst in Sherringham. The decor is beautiful,the café itself very clean,the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and welcoming and provide excellent service. An added bonus is proper leaf tea! Breakfast finishes at 1130. At 1132, we rocked up and asked if it was at all possible to still have a breakfast off of the menu?

Dropped into this little cafe on the way back from a walk from the seafront. Great service, fab coffee and lovely tea. All very hot and fresh. All clean too. The loo room was very clean, soap and paper towels provided of great quality. Very friendly staff. Will visit again when in the area.

This was a chance find. The Fish pie was absolutely fabulous, great homemade food. You would be hard pressed to have a better lunch in Sheringham. The staff are really friendly and The Kitchen has a great vibe. I'll be back!

Well. almost, did mention in a previous "report" but could't remember the name, this The Kitchen, offers as good a range of Gluten Free menu as you could get in the City, from starter, main and dessert, a choice selection which can have either the "indecisive" or

The Kitchen has improved since it first opened. I think it is now the best place to get a decent cup of coffee in Sheringham. I'm impressed how they have reacted positively to feedback and improved their service and quality. We have popped in for breakfast recently and were really impressed with the local sausages and gluten free options. My advice to other customers is to specify how you like your coffee and I'm sure they can get it perfectly to your liking.

Popped in here for lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Just had soup and a sandwich but it was prepared quickly and very good value. Coffee was excellent. Also liked the little touches such as a bottle of tap water for 2 , I also noticed blankets if you were sitting outside. Friendly staff and very busy always a good sign

First time we have visited this place fantastic service and excellent service coffee and tea cakes were excellent we ordered went outside to get a table and within a couple of minutes the and cakes were being served all plplng hot and at a reasonable price,would recommend this place.

This cafe stood out from others in Sheringham High Street. It is appealing, modern, nicely decorated and well appointed. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and the dishes we chose were excellently presented, plentiful and very tasty. We would definitely revisit when next in the area.

What a smashing way to 'end' our stay in nearby Cromer. We popped to Sherringham and called in at The Kitchen for morning coffee, hot choc and cakes. Lovely warm welcome, happy and relaxing atmosphere. Well done to Jackie, Jim and your lovely staff. Keep up the good work. Back soon.

This is such a smart and welcoming cafe with very 'on the ball' owners. Every one of their different coffees is excellent and prepared with care. We've seen lots of people eating and obviously enjoying their meals. It's warm and very smart inside with the best lily scented loos in town.

I didn't think there was scope for another coffee bar eatery in town but The Kitchen is much more modern and sophisticated than the others. The coffee is great and having seen people order breakfast there I'd say the food is good too. They have a loyalty card so every so often you get a free coffee. Very tempting to visit when you're out shopping!

We only stopped by for a coffee during the wartime weekend but I felt compelled to write a review because the service was so friendly and cheerful and the place was ultra smart plus they must have the poshest café toilet in the toilet in town.

We had a ride out today to Sheringham - and loved it. We were lucky enough to to choose The Kitchen for lunch and we were not disappointed. A tidy and clean coffee shop with a very nice lady serving. The home made soup was delicious and the service spot on. We also enjoyed a love,y cup of tea. Can definitely recommend. We will be back!
