The Ship Inn in North Norfolk

What a find! Stayed for three nights' B&B this Easter. The Ship provides a warm, welcoming environment that's exceedingly clean and beautifully presented. The owners and staff are absolutely great and work as a very solid team, which is reflected in the friendly atmosphere. Our room looked exactly like the promo shots, it was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, with thoughtful facilities. The comfortable king-size bed and pillows (a combo of medium- and soft-weight) came with good quality linen and duvet. The walk-in shower was great, the basin a good size (not one of those annoying ones you have to mop-up round after use!), and the perfect number of good quality fluffy towels were supplied. The room was quiet and, together with the blackout curtains, made for three great nights' sleep. Breakfasts were excellent, and generous. Even the tea was good too (very rare)! After eating in the restaurant on night #1 we decided to do the same for the following two evenings. We did a pretty good tour of the menu and it was almost perfect, the service was certainly perfect. Although very busy and fully booked, B&B guests get preferential booking in the restaurant, but of course you do have to book ahead. The garden is quiet, well equipped with tables and beautifully planted. This is a long review, I didn't want to miss anything(!) and know from experience how difficult it can be to find a good place where you'll feel gives good value for your hard-earned money. The Ship at Weybourne is a VERY good place, we will definitely stay there again.

we were camping nearby and managed to get a walk in table every night even thought they were fully booked for easter weekend. the food was very good and the people serving were very friendly. between the 4 of us we covered most of the menu over 3 nights and would highly recommend all of it. despite being very full the attention and quality remained high. we are already plotting our return - all the way from sheffield.

Eating here 3-4 times a year for past 5 years+. Never had cause to complain...BUT had the burger....sorry to say....NO TASTE WHAT SO EVER....& VERY VERY GREASY....TOOK THE 2 BURGERS OUT OF THE ROLL....SHOCKED AT WHAT I WAS LOOKED AT....please please THE SHIP...who ever making these burgers......THINK AGAIN....hopefully this was a one off.Service as always perfect

Fantastic, excellent range of food and drink. Our meals were all absolutely delicious.

We rang this pub on the day to book an evening meal. We were advised to pop in at 5 to get a table that they use for walk ins. We arrived at 4.30 and ordered drinks waiting for a walk in table. A new member of staff gave the 1st table away to a disabled customer who came in after us …so doing the right thing we said we’d wait for the next one (a single man who was having one more drink taking up a table for 4 for 1 hr while my husband and I and our dog waited at the bar”. Fine… I was told the empty table for 6 in the next room was book and wasn’t available for dog owners. Having waited an 1hr & 15 mins to be seated a single man with a dog came in to take this free table in the side we’d been told wasn’t available to dogs owners. This is the worst service I have had anywhere trying to get an evening meal with my dog. I m very disappointed and will not return to this pub again because of the I consistencies this evening- wow 😔 😠

A nice weekend get away. Nice outdoor garden with comfortable pods still in place. I loved the food. For starters, I had fresh crab and avocado. To follow,sweet chilli and lime salmon skewers. Beautifully cooked. I would recommend The Ship Inn for a North Norfolk break.

Tried booking an evening meal but not available, it was suggested that we might want to wait and chance it with a bar table so we arrived early at 4.30pm hoping that we might get a table to eat at. One came available and although we had waited for 45mins it was offered to another couple. Because the lady was disabled we agreed to let them have the table. We did notice a table in the restaurant that was empty the whole time we were there but because we had a dog we thought it wasn’t an option for us. We finally got a table at 6pm then noticed that the empty table became occupied by a solo person with a dog. We were not happy but what made it worse was the bar staff lied about the situation to cover themselves. We will not be returning that is certain.

Excellent pub. We are on a walk between Sherringham and Cley - so stopped here for a thirst quencher. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - even tho we werent stopping for food. They have a huge range of beers and lagers. The food looks good too!

Some nice food, however disappointed by the frozen fries supplied with the burger when the side chips are real home made ones!

What a fabulous little pub/b&b situated in the heart of Weybourne. The food is fabulous and the service is really rather good. There's also a bus stop right outside, if you're travelling from Sheringham, and another one just over the road if you're travelling from Wells. Buses operate on a Sunday too and the local company is Sanders. If you're going to eat or drink at The Ship it's just a £3 fare. The pub is very clean and has an amazing reputation locally.

What isn't there to like. Our room was gorgeous, nicely decorated, clean and had all the facilities required. The staff are so lovely, welcoming and very attentive. The food is amazing. We had breakfast included and every morning it was fantastic and the evening meals with a vast array of dishes to suit all tastes is exceptional. Compliments to the kitchen staff. Our room was cleaned and bed made daily and stocked with coffee, tea, biscuits and toiletry requirements. Thank you to the cleaner. It was my Husband's 60th birthday during our stay and he got a card and balloon from the staff. What a lovely thing to do - so nice. Overall, I would highly recommend The Ship Inn and we will definitely be visiting again.

A little piece of heaven in Norfolk. Such a lovely place, friendly, spotlessly clean and excellent service. Rooms and food are fabulous . Returned visit and just felt it was even better and will be back again.

Just popped in here for an evening meal, food was very good, plenty of choice on the menu, staff were lovely.. and reasonable pricing £4 pint of coke and £15 for a double burger etc.. recommend but it’s popular so remember to book and car park get full.

Popped in here for an unplanned evening meal on Friday at about 6pm. Although still early evening, the bar area was very busy and all tables in the restaurant were reserved. However, very pleasant front of house staff organised a table for us but on the promise we had to vacate it in 75 mins. Great variety of dishes on the menu. We had a crab mornay salad and a burger, which were both well cooked and good value for money. All members of staff were very friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit but might be best to book in advance.

We stayed at the ship for four nights while exploring the north Norfolk coast. The staff are all incredibly friendly, the food was great and the rooms are lovely. Would thoroughly recommend going.

What a wonderful place to have lunch with a friend. I can't recommend The Ship Inn in Weybourne highly enough. I have many awkward allergies and my friend also. We checked with them prior to our visit and they assured us that they could feed us both. I ordered mine in advance, my friend was able to order on the day. The Inn was very welcoming, clean with great attentive staff. The toilets were beautifully decorated and obviously checked regularly. As for the food. Oh my goodness it was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Things that needed to be crispy were and things that need to be soft and succulent were delightful. And desserts melted in the mouth. A good price for all their care, attentiveness, food and drink. We will be going back and taking more friends with me

We had a fabulous stay at The Ship earlier this week. The room was a good size and immaculate, with great attention to detail. The food and drink were equally impressive, delicious, a wide choice, and generous portions. The full English was one of the best I've ever had. The staff were very welcoming, making us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and giving us lots of helpful information about the local area. We will definitely be returning again in the near future.

We had a table for 3 people and we were celebrating my husbands birthday. The menu looked very tasty and it was difficult to make our choices. One of us had the loaded nachos another the Xmas special burger and I had the steak pudding with bubble and squeak. The loaded nachos came out first by mistake as they were written down as a starter so when these came back with the other mains they were not as hot as they should have been but very very tasty. THe steak pudding was delicious and my husband did not have any complaints about his burger but was not as special as he thought it was going to be. All in all it was very nice and we will return in 2025

Lovely lunch after walking to Weybourne from Sheringham. Dog friendly. Great service. Food was delicious. We had fish baps, sausage bap and loaded nachos. All fab with good size portions. Would go again. Didn't stay so can't rate the rooms.

Lovely Local Village Pub, Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We are local but we haven't tried the food yet as they do not currently serve some of favourite Pub Food like Bangers & Mash, Mixed Grill, Chicken Tikka Curry, Onion Rings, Garlic Bread etc. Would love to see them added to the menu in the future if possible.

Warm friendly welcome and the food was excellent

Didn't stay in rooms. Have not been to the pub for many years, we were pleasantly surprised, very clean n tidy, a good pointer are the toilets, pristine. Staff are very attentive n friendly. The food we had was excellent. Fish n chip baps are worth a try. We will most certainly be visiting again.

Didn't eat so can't rate the food. We booked a table but we were seated right next to the bar which unfortunately had a very loud couple of gentleman propped up there, swearing and being vulgar despite them seeing we had bought our 6 year old with us. We asked to be moved and we were but unfortunately weren't moved far enough away as could still hear them. Food seemed very expensive and on top of our mood being brought down because of the men, we did not stay. Staff were lovely though, just don't think they understood why we wanted to leave.

A busy pub serving excellent food and a good selection of beers.

I was so looking forward to eating here based on the reviews. After a 9 mile walk I needed food and drink. But ……………. I had the misfortune to have a dog with me. ‘You can’t go in there with a dog’ I was shouted at when I glanced towards the restaurant. I had no intention of doing so but maybe a quick glance? I was then told that the only tables I could sit at were 2 and 3. Really? Seriously? You can see from the images that it was pretty empty. A Wednesday in early November and they show reluctance to accept my £30 or so lunch whilst I waited 90 minutes for the next bus. So my dog and I got an imminent bus back to our temporary ’local’ in West Runton where they were happy to accept my monies (& my extremely well behaved dog).

Friendly service, opted for the vegan fish sandwich and chips. Very tasty, decent portion. A large menu covering lots of preferences. Worth a visit.

An easy twenty minutes stroll from Weybourne station of North Norfolk steam railway. There is a footpath the whole way. Big lunch, massive sticky toffee oudding

We stayed for two nights, the room was well presented, very clean with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was cooked to order and a very substantial menu to choose from as well as cereal, yogurt etc..We chose to eat in the restaurant each evening and again a very good menu to choose from, the lamb pie may have taken 30 minutes but certainly worth the wait. The bar has plenty of beers to choose from and a very impressive assortment of Gin, our B&B package came with a voucher from the Ship Inn for two complementary G&T’s which was greatly received. The location is ideal with the coastal hopper bus stopping right outside the pub. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Would certainly recommend.

Incredible service as always and the mussels were to die for, great value for money and always a brilliant atmosphere. One of, if not THE best place to eat on the coast. Don't bother with anywhere else in Weybourne!

Booked in for a few nights and the first impressions are great. Very welcoming. Great rooms and very friendly. Perfect for a couples quiet break away with local walks close. Pet and child free rooms.

Our second visit to The Ship whilst caravanning at Kelling Heath and once again certainly not disappointed. A really warm, friendly greeting, really lovely comfortable dining chairs and great menu to choose from. Two of us went for the pig’s cheeks and two for the mussels, really excellent food with great service. Well done to the whole team, this is certainly a pub to eat in if you are in the area.

We were lucky enough to be staying in Weybourne for a week. This place is fantastic. Friendly. Warm & cosy. Clean. FANTASTIC efficient and friendly staff. AMAZING food and excellent quality wine!!! What more could you wish for. Thank you to all the team for being so amazing

Evening meal with our Alaskan Malamute Mya. Fantastic service and a really dog freindly place to eat. Food was fantastic. Minced beef suet pudding with horseradish mash. Who does that these days? I nearly licked the plate clean. 5 stars from us and Mya

Good food and good atmosphere. Background music wasn't too loud and everyone was friendly. Glad we were a 4, we wouldn't have been able to finish the nachos sharer between 2! Don't be put off by the price of the food, the portion sizes were generous! And a good selection of local ales too.

Quaint little pub in an excellent position if you're walking the coast path. Nice little pods to sit outside in if it's rainy/windy with some other outdoor seating. Just called for a drink, bit on the pricey side but all seem to be in the little villages. Dog friendly. Clean toilets.

We had a fabulous steak pie for lunch, absolutely delicious! We were served by Lauren today, she and all the staff at The Ship are so friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The pub is always spotlessly clean and we highly recommend it!

The Ship Inn is a nice place for lunch. The pub area is lovely and the service is very friendly. Our food was good, I was very impressed with the selection of salad and its size/freshness, it was tasty and crunchy. So many places skimp on salad portions, I love salad it’s often my favourite thing on my plate! The lobster was OK, the chips were tasty. My husband loved the fact he could have ribs (no sauce), wings and chips - he gave me his slaw. The walk from Sheringham was easy, our beers were cold, our walk back was a little more challenging with such full tummies. We’ll definitely go for lunch again, there’s a decent selection of non-meat dishes for me and loads of meaty things for my husband.

Lunch today with my wife our 5th visit, previously with our family. Lovely setting, service , ambiance food and beer.

Breakfast is excellent - all freshly made and cooked to order. Despite being a busy bank holiday nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Rooms are comfortable with every detail thought of and exceptionally clean . We ate in the pub throughout our stay, the food is good value and the best in the area in our opinion. The personal touch of recognising one of our birthdays with a complimentary was a lovely gesture. Overall an excellent B&B congratulations to Ben, Lyndon and the whole team for such a high achievement!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay

We had Sunday Dinner which was fabulous .Excellent service and value.We both had the roast beef with cauliflower cheese as an extra.Lovely setting in a lovely village.We also ate there earlier that week had fish and chips and burger with cheese as an extra both were delicious.

Without doubt THE best vegan lunch I've had in Norfolk, if not ever! Amazing vegan chip shop bap with two battered banana blossom pieces, in a huge bap with peas and vegan tartar sauce. It was absolutely delicious, and fantastic value for money. Very highly recommended and I will definitely be back!

Called back in here on Monday evening to celebrate our little ones birthday whilst on holiday. The staff were welcoming, polite and exceptionally friendly and the service second to none. The quality and quantity of food was extremely good and the portions that big we had to bring some home. Had the bang bang prawns and scallops to start, then the belly port and ribs / wings combo for mains. I don't think the prices are too bad considering the quality and seem competitive in comparison to another new location in the village offering food. We would happily go back and will return next visit. Thanks very much, great experience 👍

Been coming to the area for 15 years and never been here. Popped in for a quick pint which was great. Bar staff were friendly, locals chatty. Menu looked lovely. Will definitely be back.

Weybourne is a lovely place and I have just finished a superb and reasonably priced meal. The quality was fine and the service very attentive. I'm not vegan, but I noted a range of options. Thoroughly recommend 👌

Lovely building, very pleasing to sit outside & look at. Busy outside & a good atmosphere with other drinkers. Prompt service if not particularly personal/friendly which I totally understand in this busy tourist area. A very good selection of hand pulled beers & keg beers/lagers. Wines by the glass were from 75cl bottles rather than those 187ml bottles of Jack Rabbit/Healey & Gray piss. My wife declared the Pinot Grigio very good & I for some reason had a nice pint f a gluten free IPA. My 2nd pint was Peroni which was very decent! I was dragged away kicking & screaming like a spoiled child as rather then behave like a responsible 55 year old - I wanted yet another pint of the usually to my taste overly sweet Peroni. . . . 🥲 We couldn’t have sat inside as when we first went in to request drinks the whole bar area smelled very strongly of fried fish & it wasn’t a fresh/good smell - we’ve no idea if the cooking extraction/ventilation system needed some new filters but the smell in the otherwise lovely pub interior was very off putting.

Wonderful B+B 2 night stay. Room 1 was double aspect, huge comfy bed. Slept so well. Really quiet. Room has all you want and so clean. Pub is perfect - busy but so friendly. Staff are superb and breakfast was enormous and so tasty. Evening dinner also lovely made all the better with Wherry beer. Lovely stroll to weybourne beach and nice beer garden. Really recommend.

Really good food served very efficiently.

Great dinner this evening in dog friendly bar. Generous portions with lighter options available pretty good value and excellent quality. The Ship caters well for coeliacs and even has gluten free draught beer. There is a wide choice of gluten free and vegetarian options on brunch, lunch and dinner menus but in season you’ll probably need to book over a week ahead to get a table in the evening.

Nice friendly pub and the food was brilliant, definitely not the cheapest place to eat but the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend a visit to anyone.

Dined here last night. Went as a 'walk in' with the family. Immediately made to feel welcome. The food was fantastic, as was the beer. My daughter has a dietary issue and the staff were very accommodating to ensure she was well catered for. Excellent value for money considering the quality of the food. Message for the owners, the staff you have are very good, courteous and attentive without being over bearing. Fully reccomend this place.

This is one of the best places to stay in Norfolk. The rooms are excellent, modern, nicely decorated, comfortable bed, clean bathroom and spacious. The food and service are top class and the staff are welcoming and friendly.

We had a very good meal at this pub, and at that point we decided to book the same table for the following Saturday, which was our 20th wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the pub five minutes before we were due to be seated, we noticed that the table we had booked was occupied, so we asked the staff how long the table was going to be, only to be told that the pub PC software had re-allocated our table as we were just a party of two people!!! The alternative we were offered was a tiny round table, shoved between a table for four and a table for at least six, the latter being occupied by a family which were allowing their young children to run around the bar area! As the table we had originally booked was in the nice restaurant area to the rear of the pub, it is fair to say that we were seriously disappointed, and as we had stated when we re-booked the table that it was for a special occasion, the lady who took the booking never mentioned that we would not be able to have that table. What made it worse was the attitude of the chap behind the bar, he offered no apology whatsoever. Giving a review like this is a real shame, as the meal we had on our previous visit was very good and we were really looking forward to another nice meal there, and had it been any other day, we would have probably just accepted another table in a different part of the pub, but as we clearly stated it was our wedding anniversary when we re-booked, the outcome was totally unacceptable, and the staffs attitude has led me to write this review.

The Ship is in the heart of the pretty coastal village of Weybourne. It is an historic building with an updated interior. There is a beautiful cottage garden feel about the beer garden and to the front of the pub are wood and sturdy plastic pods to allow protected outdoor dining. The inside is spacious with different areas for dining. The menu is extensive and caters for all tastes. The portion size is ample so a three course meal should be slow and savoured. The crab salad was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Staff are friendly and helpful and the table service and timings were excellent. There are also a number of rooms available to stay in. Can get busy so best to book a table. There is a small carpark to the side of the pub.

Came here for both brunch and dinner during our stay in the village and we couldn't fault a thing. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was second to none. They were so accommodating, lovely and seemed to genuinely love what they do. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves who cooked pub food in a cosy dining room

Village pub with a great beer garden reasonably priced drinks and food we went in once just for a drink then back a couple of nights later to eat . We both chose the chicken curry and it was to die for .
