Chubby Seal Craft Beer Cafe in North Norfolk

North Norfolk’s greatest craft beer bar. The only pub around here that constantly have great options on tap (not generic Camden Hells or similar posing as craft beer). There is always something for every palate on draught tap and if once you’ve worked your way through them there is a fridge filled with all the best cans out there!! Service is always with a smile. Just a great little gem of a bar!!

Best place for beer in Holt. Fridges looking a little bare when we went this evening, but I'm sure they will be restocked soon. I think the owner has a micro brewery. Would be great to see some of their stuff on the taps in the future if so.

Far too noisy. We had 1 drink and then left. I pity the neighbours having that noise. Not what you expect in Holt.

Great little place, with friendly barman. Serving a selection of draft ales and a fridge full of special ales such as Caramel & chocolate shortbread stout... Cheers!

Staying in Holt for a night and stumbled across The Chubby Seal in a little street off the main street. What a gem of a place. So gutted that we were only in Holt for one night and had spent most of the evening in other pubs. Craft ales, wine and good selection of gins in a small, but beautifully laid out, stylish place with great atmosphere. Owner knows his stuff and there is a good sized outside seating area. Highly recommend and I will be here when next in Holt.

Great selection of beers, craft beers and a well thought out bar. Knowledgeable and helpful, amazing snacks selection and basically I'd highly recommend it - went last night - we'll be back again. One of the coolest spots in Holt.

Walked past early in the day and had to come back to try once they opened. Great little seating area outside, very tranquil and peaceful for an afternoon beer or 2. When the sun isn’t out, the inside has a very hip but relaxed feel. Would recommend this to anyone visiting, they have a good few draft beers that they rotate weekly. Prices & percentages range so there is something for everyone, we had a guest sour which was incredible!

What a lovely find, really lovely quirky decor, great range of beers on tap, I particularly liked the Deya Summer Ale, perfect for the warmer months. Nice little out door area. Reasonably priced.

Loved finding this little gem of a place! We found this just before closing and managed to have 2 lovely craft beers and a super gin and tonic! The place has a lovely vibe, cool wooden high tables with comfy bar stools. The lady behind the bar was friendly and welcome us with dog and 2kids no problem. Would recommend.

Great atmosphere, and draft beers you've never heard of but are terrifically different to the same old stuff, and a friendly owner.

Really good selection of beers and other drinks. The design of the place is really cool and makes for a relaxed drinking environment. Some really good chooses and good drinks would recommend!

Super bar with some lovely ales, gins and soft drinks. Have visited a couple of times when in the area, good seating area indoor and outdoor . Definitely will be back.

Always pleased to find Chubby Seal open (no times on the door). There is a nice 'chummy' atmosphere with lots of locals there as well as visitors. Great wine served in attractive glasses and my husband loves the craft beers

Loved this little bar, very nice atmosphere and good selection of beers.

Lovely lunchtime stop off, with a Mango and Coconut sour beer. Highly recommended for a hot day, but if you are undecided, try the 3 beer tasting platter.

Excellent beers and the venue was beautiful. I only wish they had table service.

We went with friends for a pre-dinner drink. Unfortunately the staff were really rude to us. We will not return.

If you like your craft ale, this is a small oasis. There are few such places in Manchester or London ... certainly few that will spend time telling you the background on what you're drinking. Try to go off-peak if you can and don't forget to take a look in the fridge before you leave. Been working away a bit so not managed to get in lately, but looking forward to next time I can.

Recently spent a week in Holt, lovely town, and paid a few visits to Chubby Seal. We love craft beers and they had a decent selection. A nice little micro pub with a warm welcome. Best place to drink good beer in Holt even when it's raining.

Popped in when tables free but told full. We’re not rude at all but clearly too much trouble to be accommodating…. Totally offhand, casual and rude. If you don’t welcome ‘outsiders’ put a sign up…. Also buy good insurance…. Your business doesn’t deserve clientele!

We weren’t able to get in this time, which is testament to how popular it is. It’s a small venue but very well stocked with all sorts of unusual beers which are available to take away, knowledgeable staff and a nice wee gin menu too.

Tried a couple of their beers, all tasted different but well selected by the owners. Def worth checking out if you are in Holt

Excellent selection of genuine draft Cask ales on offer which regularly changes. Also good selection of gins and wines. Friendly and helpful staff. A lovely little place.

called thursday tea time and enjoyed a few beers strange how you could only buy 1/3 pint 2/3 pint or litre and it worked out 5.50 a pint but they were good beers and although i never spoke to the lad behind the bar he seemed very knowledgableon all the beers

Delighted to find this craft beer cafe, whilst spending a few days based in Blakeney. How would we manage without a Google search?! Delicious range of keg beers on tap, pretty outdoor seating area and friendly, attentive service.

Craft Beer pub. Only a small amount of seating outside which was all full as it was busy. Service was a little unfriendly for me. Updated to add that we visited on 25 August 2020 at 5pm.

The Chubby Seal craft beer place is a find , tucked down a side alley in the back streets of Holt . An amazing selection of craft beers and lagers. A small place with a few tables outside and space for a dozen or so inside. But the enjoyment of the beer and the snacks make it a place well worth seeking out.

What more could you asked for… Clean, open, and quaint specialist beer establishment, that also has a wide array of gins to choose from. With a decent selection on the menu, and friendly staff, slurping On draft or cans was a very easy process. Great place to stop away from the hustle and bustle. Loved how much attention to being clean and safe they are

If you love craft beer (I do) then this place is well worth a visit if you’re in the area. The owners are very knowledgeable and happy to talk about the extensive beer selection available. They also do gin and wine etc. something for everyone. They also do off sales if you want to take some away. We sat outside at the tables which have warming patio heaters in the evening.

Found this little gem on the off chance. Perfect combination for my and my hubby. 3 thirds of beer including an amazing Northern Monk, a lovely cappuccino and scones. I had the fruit scone with jam and cream and hubby had the cheese scone. The scones were so fresh. Well worth trying this new venture

Nice sharing platters and some interesting beers. The service when we have visited was rather slow, seemed to take a long while to make our platter up. But food was good and we would visit again.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere just to have a quick snack between shops, and stumbled across the Chubby Seal. Well - what a find. Lovely friendly service. We had tea/soft drink and a couple of very yummy scones. Superb. Would definitely return when next in Holt and looking for a welcoming break!

My sons wish to have his 40th birthday surprise celebration at this cafe was a great success. Hayley made sure we had a plentiful buffet with her charuterie platters , and a few extra bits ! Whilst Luke ensured the gins, wine and ales kept flowing (and the rum chasers). Hayley and Luke have a created a great atmosphere in their cafe ensuring everyone is welcome .

The Chubby Seal is a welcome addition to Holt. It's a great bar with a range of beers that my husband loves and, from my viewpoint, a selection of good wine by the glass which are always served just the right amount of chilled. There is outdoor seating plus the inside has air con.

Really nice little micro pub serving excellent range of craft beer. V friendly service. Let me try a couple to taste. Opted for Galatia. V good.

Loved this place. It's newish, a cafe/bar with a friendly relaxed feel. Staff were great and knowledgeable. We enjoyed too many beers with a sharing plate which was simple but tasty. Came again during our stay and enjoyed it just as much. Great place!

Wonderful beer and good food! We stumbled upon this while exploring Holt, and would recommend. A nice atmosphere and the food and drink were very tasty. Give it a go, the sharing platter looked fab also... we had food envy!

Stopped for a light lunch with the family. Hot chocolates and coffee were great. Great value scones and cream and a lovey baguette. Great place to visit well worth looking for as a little hidden!

This is one of our favourite places! The beers are fab and change regularly, the gin menu is glorious, the wines ace and the food simple but delicious. It’s only small and easily missed as it’s tucked away but do seek it out. It’s a new venture and really deserves support.

Stopped by for hot chocolate and coffee today, really lovely. Didn’t have food but menu looked very appetising. It’s tucked down a side st, and easily missed, but well worth the search.

I was recommended this place by friends and it did not disappoint. The cafe is situated off the main road, in a quiet location which allows tables and chairs outside but out of the way of the road. It will be great to come back in Spring, sit outside and people watch. Today was cold though so we sat inside and it was a cosy temperature, not too hot, not too cold. Most of the tables were full which didn’t surprise me as it feels like a great find. The decor is lovely with black pin leg raw oak tables and comfortable seating, the styling is relaxed and reminded me of the best restaurants in Shoreditch. The atmosphere was nice and the staff really friendly. We opted for beer and a charcuterie board and it was exceptional, we had little room for anything else! We will be back soon and will certainly recommend it to friends.

We popped in here during a stay at The Lawns Hotel in Holt and I was surprised at the quality of the ales on offer. Only minus point for me is that they don't serve pints?

Decent selection of wines and a interesting range of beers. We had a sharing meat and cheese plater served with some lovely bread, olives, chutney, etc. Can recommend the chubby seal, it’s hard to be different in not but they have succeeded
