Sunshine Cafe in Great Yarmouth

Average, the food personally not nice. You can taste cheap food. Even the ketchup isn’t nice because it’s cheap. You have to put into your business to make it work. It’s the little things that matter. If I ever Cole back to Yarmouth I wouldn’t come here again.

Nice quiet vibes. Only had a coffee & banana milkshake. Coffee wasn’t great really. 1/10 unfortunately. Banana milkshake was okay, 5/10. Service wasn’t bad, was a busy day as was raining so staff needed to get food out. Overall okay if you want a quick drink or bite. I’ve not tried the food though.

We’re on holiday for a week but we went in on Tuesday 14 may but I won’t be ordering lasagna and chips again as lasagna was hard me and grandson couldn’t hardly eat it

Lovely breakfast and staff! Well worth a visit! Easy parking opposite. Handy as it's right by the seafront. Prices are good too.

Amazing little cafe, after our hotel wasn’t doing breakfasts due to low season… we came here and have not been disappointed Amazing food every morning and not bad prices considering everything has gone up now days Ladies serving have been great Fantastic little cafe

Lovely little cafe, good menu choices and excellent value. Visited on a rainy Tuesday afternoon for a spot of lunch as a family of 5 . Kids had some delicious cheeseburgers and chips, we also enjoyed chicken and bacon baguette, cheese toastie and sausage bap. All cooked to order, lovely and hot. Great friendly service too.

Went to the cafe for the first time on a Sunday. Been meaning to go there for years. It is on the sea front so it can be difficult to park. Warm welcome. Great breakfast. Decent price. Will go again.

What amazing breakfast definitely go back again staff friendly reasonable prices been to other places but this one is the best

Very high quality food, however we found it a little over priced! Staff were so friendly The best bangers (sausages) weve had in Yarmouth so far. Also a nice touch was the tea selection at the front, they had very unusual ones which was fun to choose from. 🐷☕🍳

Walked in, in a rush as the children were protesting of how hungry they were. I wished I had of looked around at my surroundings beforehand. The place was scruffy & unkept & so we’re the staff. I assumed were all related as they were all bickering amongst themselves. The toilets were surprisingly clean but the rest of the cafe wasn’t. I wanted to walk out without the food but didn’t have the heart. It all went in the bin, even the coffee was poor. It’s probably the worst place you could go to on the seafront.

I really enjoyed my expierence here. The service was great,resturant was clean and the food was amazing. Came in here on a wim and glad i did.Best breakfast ive had in a while you shluld defiently come here

The most miserable unkempt staff I've ever encountered, no please or thank you despite us being polite to them. Everything was obviously an effort for them. Wish we'd sat down first before ordering food so we could have witnessed the dirty tables with food remnants underneath. Not good value for money as bacon was cold and fatty, coffee was cold and all day breakfast was small. Staff were so sullen and unapproachable, we didn't say anything and just agreed never to go back. Far better surroundings, atmosphere, staffing and quality of food in many other places along the seafront for the same price or less. Thought we'd try it for a change and regret it. Cringed watching the girl with the pony tail combing her hair through with her fingers then pulling 2 slices of bread out of the bag. Was an older lady called Sarah in charge and a girl with long grown out bleached hair in a pony tail behind the counter who both need to go on a Food and Hygiene course asap. Young lad waiting tables could do with showing a bit of enthusiasm too. To get to the dirty toilets you have to go through a kitchen area, how is that hygienic? Just to clarify we didn't use the toilet, just walked straight back out even though we were desperate.

Went into this cafe , which wasn’t busy , as weather was rubbish, walked in , not greeted at all, hadn’t been here before so didn’t know what we was supposed to do , staff on there phones , poor customer service, the reason for going in here I fancied a thick shake , we ended up having a toastie, bacon sandwich and 2 thickshakes , which came to over £13 , food is basic , the thick shakes were more like milkshakes, but still happy to charge the same , I work in the hospitality, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend or return

Went in for the all day breakfast, asked if I could change sausages for bacon it was no problem, asked if i could leave my mobility scooter the lady said you can leave it inside, also love the sign “ we don’t do fast food we do fresh food as fast as we can “ and it was piping hot and done perfectly all staff were lovely and the young lad and girl worked well great cafe next time we’re down we will be in thank you

We visited this cafe today ,after reading some very positive reviews, we decided to give it a try. It certainly Iived up to those views, breakfast was freshly cooked, as was pipping hot ,and very tasty and all very reasonable priced. The ladies worked like troopers. Thank you ladies very enjoyable.

We had an great breakfast here (Jumbo Breakfast with hash brown and we added black pudding). Just what the doctor ordered. Quick service and well priced. Decor fitting with Great Yarmouth seaside.

We stayed at great yarmouth for 2 days at room only hotel . sunshine cafe was nearby and they were amazing friendly and wonderful and the full english breakfast was exceptional. nothing less then 100% satisfied its one of the best breakfast we have ever had thank you to the 2 ladies that served us on the both days we were there. thank you from the couple that 1 had 2 bacon instead of a sausage. 100% satisfied

We went to the sunshine cafe for breakfast, the food was hot and really good quality ingredients, the tea was a really welcomed good brew. Staff were welcoming and polite. Well worth a visit

What a wonderful family ran cafe , we had Breakfast here most mornings and Dinner 1 evening, when they were closing but let us in regardless.The staff are friendly and welcoming, there are no toilet facilities, but just across the road are public ones Definitely be back in August

Went with my mother in law for a breakfast after hearing the good reviews. We was not disappointed at all, the cafe was clean, the staff where very polite and the food was amazing. We both had the jumbo breakfast; the sausages where delicious and the amount of food for the price was amazing. The service was top standard. I would definitely recommend and will be returning in the near future Thank you very much

The place was an absolute mess. No customer service at all. You had to wipe your feet on the way out and was told we had to wait around 45 minutes for food although there was hardly anyone in and only ordered a chip cob and cheese sandwich. Never again and highly un-recommendable...

Walking down the seafront and came across the sunshine cafe. Never been before but the bright colours caught my eye. Had lots of variety in their menu and lots of different breakfasts which meant that me and each of my friends were all able to be easily accommodated. First we ordered our drinks which came out hot, I had a latte and have to say the coffee was much better than costa! Also had caramel syrup in it! Drinks came out quick and then our breakfasts not much afterwards. I had a jumbo breakfast which was the perfect size for me, sausages were delicious and when I asked where they were from the lovely lady on the counter said they were from a local butchers! Couldn’t be better than that! Highly recommend the cafe as all round it was brilliant.

Stopped at Sunshine Cafe for the second time this week, Once socially with my wife and son and once for a working breakfast. Had contact with 2 members of staff, both friendly and chatty. Service was reasonably fast with how busy they were and the constraints of having to take everything outside due to Boris's Rules for lockdowns. The food came out hot as did my wifes hot drink. Prices were very reasonable for a seafront cafe. Plenty of attractions close by with the sling shot, big wheel and sealife centre all within a few seconds walk. Will definately revisit Sunshine Cafe whenever we are Great Yarmouth way.

I visit last weekend before spending the afternoon on the rides. Had 2 hungry Children who really enjoyed there burger and chips. (Not often they can sit and eat a whole meal) us adults also had burger and chips and really enjoyed the portion that was served to us. Burger was one of best I have eaten. Staff was very friendly and even made time to come and make Conversation. Would highly recommend the cafe to friends and family. Looking forward to returning when we visit Great Yarmouth.

Sat down outside in the freezing cold as Boris's rules and ordered a breakfast and a veggie with tea and coffee, the tea and coffee came out piping hot and the Breakfasts a little later. The breakfast was one of the best I have had from a seaside cafe and was hot totally enjoyed it although sat outside . All the hospitality businesses are trying their best under the lockdown regulations and we should support them for this. Any body from Middlesbrough reading this I did notice PARMO on the menu, and to the LADY who wrote more like thunder shame on you as you have just opened an account to slag places off and you do not exit Jackiew hiding behind social media.

We ordered and paid for our breakfast at the counter, and sat outside, the tea and coffee was brought out first and was cold, I asked the grumpy Waitress if she could warm the tea up, she snatched it off me and stomped off, returning a few minute's later with a lukewarm tea and a fresh cold coffee!Breakfast was the worst we've ever had in 30 years of visiting G Y. cold beans, snotty egg, and half cooked rasher of bacon, but the icing on the cake was the sausage, we could only snap it in half, God only knows how old it was, perhaps a leftover from before the last lock down!It was absolutely disgusting, the staff were so rude, we didn't dare complain after the cold drinks treatment, we were too scared, so we just left, hungry!!!

Visited with friends on lunch break a few times. Food is good basic stuff, good value for money, quick friendly service. Would recommend.

Paid a visit on a family break, nice food but the mannerism of the staff absolutely stinks What they need to remember is that the paying customer keeps them in business Would not visit again for that reason

Visited here for a quick lunch, while we knew it was your average greasy spoon, unfortunately the food was still a disappointment, my partners pie was soggy and tasted like it had been microwaved far too long, chips stale and sausages just didn’t taste very nice. They didn’t have any fish available which was what we really wanted, a classic fish & chips. There was also no table service (covid 19 guidleines) and the staff were honestly quite miserable. If you walk further along the promenade there are many more better looking places to eat.

When we visit the coast and the sea life ctr we always come here, the owner is friendly and the staff quick to serve. The food is piping hot and affordable. Best of British is a sea side cafe like sunshine.

Horrible place had to get told to stand behind customer very rude which I didn’t know sat at a table of 6 even though there was 2 off us and it was empty won’t be coming here again very rude staff wouldn’t recommend any anyone here if u do it’s your loss

Well, where do I start? If I could give zero I would! There’s nothing sunshiny about it!! The owner is rude and abrupt. We were looking at the menu, in the entrance. Not in the way of anyone- and no one was waiting to get in! We were told abruptly to take a seat. Should have walked out there and then. Husband went to order, I decided on a toasty, with ham and cheese and wanted some tomato with it. Sternly told That will be 60p extra....Fine I want tomato! I asked for a pot of tea. Again. Very abruptly told ‘don’t do pots cup only!’ Tea was milky and horrid. Hubby ordered a toasty, and son had chicken nuggets, chips and beans. Food came....cheese was barely melted. My 60ps worth of tomato was probably half a tomato if that. Sons food was a ridiculously small portion.....a tablespoon of beans if you were lucky! Food was practically thrown at us. we weren’t rude to her, we aren’t rude people but for some reason she took a dislike to us from the start! I won’t be spending my money in there again. If you don’t enjoy your job, give it up! (I think they own the chippy next door...will be giving that a wide berth too!)

Ok, I wouldn't rave about it. It is what it is, seaside cafe. Its pleasant, food is good, its clean. I would visit again.

A nice little place which sheltered us from the weather but with a sea view across the road. Staff friendly and food was freshly made and at reasonable prices.

Although our breakfast was ok when it arrived.The service of the staff stank and so did their attitude.After waiting 45 mins for breakfast (no warning) I went in to enquire and was abruptly told "were busy" when I pointed out that others who had arrived after us had got food I was then told "oh we must have missed your order, it wont be long"When food finally came out there was no apology for wait, or enjoy your meal, instead we was abruptly told that people who came in before us had not been served first, even though we know they had. Plates were put down abruptly and staff member stormed back inside.if there is going to be a wait they should tell you and they should have known it would be busy on hot bank holiday so should have got more staff.Would not go again and looking at other reviews staff bad attitude is common

Went here on arrival on Great Yarmouth for a late lunch. Very pleasant staff. We had a cheese & bacon omelette with chips. And ham , egg & chips. Proper chip shop chips. With a couple of drinks it came to around £ 14. Good food. Good service. Would say pop in for a bite to eat.

Made to feel as if we were a nuisance ordering food, Don’t take card payment, rude unfriendly staff, no toilets.... in fact I don’t want to go on wasting anymore of my time writing a review on how bad it is. Just take this advice it’s not worth it! If you read this and still go.... haha told you so.

The front of this place doesn’t do it justice, it looks a little pokey as you walk past but don’t let that put you off.Our family loves a good fry up in the morning and we like to try out a new place each day, this was by far the best full English we had all week.The staff were all very friendly, and despite it being really hot outside it was lovely and cool in there.We will definitely be visiting here again soon.

Came here with my other half and nephew at the weekend and what a find! Will definitely be coming back we all had cooked a breakfast and milkshakes (I had Raspberry milkshake) it was delicious. Sausage was cheap but still tasty but for just under £4 you can’t expect butchers best.! Bacon, beans, egg, and toast we also added hash browns as an extra. Other breakfasts were available but we didn’t want a large breakfast. Also had great lunchtime menu and Hot chocolate! Will have to try those next time we visit Great Yarmouth. Great little place I would recommend to anyone.

We were in Great Yarmouth for the day and, whilst it was cold and breezy outside, we certainly were given a sunny and warm welcome from the two ladies behind the counter in this typical seaside café.Our toasted sandwich and the chips we shared were delicious and amongst the best we had on this holiday. When we next visit Great Yarmouth we will certainly call in to The Sunshine Café for a light lunch, as we couldn't fault either the food or the service so thanks, ladies.

Well, went to the pool but it was shut for half an hour so decide to get a drink. I fancied a cup of tea. After a quick run to the cash point, as it doesn’t accept cards, we ordered a tea, a choccy milkshake and a strawberry milkshake. The ladies in the cafe are so lovely and friendly and asked how our day was going and what our plans were.

There are tons of places to choose from to eat along the front in Yarmouth, but my wife wanted a toastie to take out and we wanted got drinks to go. The toastie was okay - we do better at home, but we need convenience. The hot drinks were nice and hot, and reasonably priced.

Where do you start the only good thing was leaving the cafe, when we were arrived was not greated or anything, places our order the lad on the counter had no clue he had to get someone else to add the bill up which was still wrong I said do u bring me food over she said we will when ready

This was one of the worst breakfast experiences I have had considering Gt Yarmouth is the home of all that is holiday-ish/fast food/ cafes etc. The egg was like rubber so sent it back. They eventually got it right but by then I had really gone off the thought.

Yes agree with many poor value plastic sausage and I did not realise you could over and under cook an egg at the same time ! Burnt outside raw inside well done , won’t be back

I had the gammon and it was horrible just like eating a chunk of rubber! The children had egg and chips which was a little greasy but edible!

Visited last sunday morning after driving along Yarmouth sea-front as this was the only cafe that was open.

On the way to our holiday home for the week we popped in.. dog friendly which was a bonus.. we were the only people in there but it had literally just opened.. the food was ready quickly and we had a half decent fry up! Highly recommend the gammon!

Super little family run cafe on the sea front at Yarmouth. Cooked breakfast a delight throughout and all for a great price. Friendly, helpful staff complete the experience. Wouldn't miss whenever I'm in town.

Went for family breakfast. Wax refused entry as mother was an electric scooter user and was told we don't accommodate for these or wheelchairs. Owner was rude and did not seem bothered when we said fine we will go elsewhere. Be careful if wheelchair or electric scooter user toy will not get in. Had to give star for got one would rather minus

This family run traditional English cafe serves fresh cooked food and a reasonable price. if you get up early and want a 'full English' head for the Sunshine Cafe and be treated to a satisfying meal

I’ve never experienced anything like this cafe in my life. We have been meaning to go there for ages after walking past every Sunday. I wish we hadn’t spent a penny in there, the woman (not a lady by any stretch) was the worst host I have ever seen. She won’t let paying customers use the toilet, she yelled and swore and both of us. Stuck her middle finger up and said “good luck with your son” she pretty much chased us out of the place. Shouty horrible nasty woman. The girl behind the counter was very nice though and seemed terrified by her psychotic boss. I hope it’s not her nan or someone equally as damaging. If you fancy a run in, you should absolutely go there. Service with rudeness and anger is what you get there, not “sunshine” at all. TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT AND A WASTED SITE ON A NASTY OWNER

We went their yesterday Saturday for lunch. I had scampi and chips with salad it was nice. Salad was ok scampi was big. My husband John had cheese with chips.and coffee.I had a cup of tea it was ok.

The whole thing was the absolutely minimum. The place is slightly run down and a bit sticky. The four breakfasts and one chicken nugget and chips we had were made with the cheapest ingredients and in portions just large enough to count. Even the staff gave the minimum effort. The cooking was poor and when we asked to get the sticky table wiped she spray and wiped it leaving it so wet we had to dry it with napkins.

We took 5 children and 3 adults in to the sunshine cafe today and was told our children could only eat if the adults did. We explained that the 5 children and 1 of the adults we eating but the other 2 adults just wanted a drink and were told “it would be better if we went somewhere else”

Went for breakfast here 3 times.Always good.Their food is excellent and the drinks hot.Brilliant value for money with lovely,helpful staff.Will definitely visit again when in the area.

We had a very hot drink here on a cold but sunny morning it was nice to people watch and enjoy the view.

This is the place to go for a full English breakfast , lovely food with good portions , sets you up for the day .

Great breakfast cannot complain about anything. Carmel was great a quirky place with a lovely Irish owner a typical struggling authentic seaside business that need everyone’s support to keep British business alive original personal charm if u go to Yarmouth try it

Went into here for a breakfast before a day with the family. Lovely food very well price and lovely service. The woman accommodated my fussy vegetarian husband lol and she was friendly to my children and told them where the toys to play with where. We plan on coming back for lunch.

Was very cold in Great Yarmouth and saw Sunshine Cafe so decided to call in for a cup of tea. Was really nice and warm inside and the owner was very friendly. After looking at the menu decided to go back later for a meal which I did. There is a big variety of food at reasonable cheap prices and the quality is good. The cafe is situated on the front so is easy to find. Give it a go it is not going to cost you a fortune.

Customer service so bad it's straight out of a comedy! The food we had was ok but not great, although the soggy peas were pretty nasty. The first hint something was wrong was when asking for some serviettes and having "I'm too busy making toast" yelled at me by the owner. The family behind us had it worse - on pointing out that their breakfast had come out stone cold, the owner picked up the plate and threw it to smash against the wall! Amazing this place survives....

If your are looking for any kind of customer service then walk past this place. The old lady if you can call her that is rude she makes you feel like it's your problem if you only order a hot drink. I ordered a tea and was told "I've come off the phone for a £1 tea" laughing.

Parado con mi familia (mi esposa y dos niños de 6 y 2 años). Los niños tenían Nuggets y patatas fritas salchichas/patatas fritas, ella tuvo una chaqueta fritas y tuve un desayuno inglés completo. Nos tomamos unas copas y un par de barras de chocolate para los niños y toda la factura por sólo £20! Servicios fue rápido y amable. El restaurante estaba muy limpio y ordenado.

Pensamos que lo intentaría en que no habíamos probado antes, así que fuimos en aquí para ver lo que los pequeños principalmente queríamos.

Visitamos en dos días consecutivos pareció bien de precio y la comida abundante. Ambiente agradable. El personal era servicial y amable.

Esta no es mi primera crítica de este lugar, pero sigue el lugar después de una pequeña reforma. Vista de la calle parece mucho mejor. El mobiliario se ve viejo. La comida es muy buena para su precio.

El Sol Cafe es un café muy tradicional, situado en el Paseo Marítimo Great Yarmouth.

Fuimos en lunes festivos con 2 niños para el desayuno. Tuve que ir hasta el fin. El menú parecía muy barato. Una vez la comida llegó nos dimos cuenta de por qué era barato. Porciones muy pequeñas y la calidad no era muy buena. Le pregunté a la señora si mi hijo puede usar el baño pero nos gritaron y dijeron que usar los aseos públicos al otro lado de la carretera. Tuve que dejar mi hija, que no tenía su desayuno y terminan llevar a mi hijo al otro lado de la carretera. Nunca había visto algo como esto, yo estaba indignado por el comportamiento de la señorita y no lo recomendaría a menos que quieras estar gritaron.

Regularly visit this café when in Great Yarmouth for breakfast, and the staff are very friendly. Breakfasts cooked to perfection and they are happy to change the meals to suit you - one of the group wanted two sausages and no bacon on their breakfast instead of one of each, and this was provided. A very family-friendly café.

Messed up my wife's order forgetting one of our meals, then questioned if we had paid for it. My order was a ham and cheese omelette and didn't have any ham... No apologies what so ever! The Lady was more interested in checking we had paid for it when we clearly had... When asking for some ketchup was told we already had some. They gave us 3 sachets between a family of four of us. Next day went to Las Palmas a few doors up and much better!

We ordered pizza for my toddler son but he was tired and didn't eat it. We asked for a takeaway container and the woman gave us a polystyrene tray. I apologised for the confusion (?!) and explained we wanted it for the car journey and asked for a takeaway cup instead. The woman started shouting at me!! She was complaining that it's not her fault he didn't eat the food. The outburst was completely unprovoked and I have to say it took me aback. I tried to be calm and explain the situation but she is totally mental! The request didn't justify the response at all. In the end we left and I suggested she should work on her customer service. She then followed us out of the cafe and took a picture of our car and my family "in case we said anything bad"......I'm stunned. It's a pokey cafe that's overpriced and a bit grubby. Really wish we'd just walked along to the next place.

Been going to the sunshine cafe quite a lot recently and never had a problem.Food is great, Staff very friendly and helpful. Cost reasonable.No frills just good food and a friendly smile.

Been here twice this week, and on one day, had Breakfast, which was well cooked and filling. Another day I had a Bacon and soft egg sandwich. This is what I ordered and that is exactly what I got. No frills, but for the prices they charge, you can't expect them. The cafe is clean and the staff very accommodating. The Ritz it is not, but the food is good. I will be back.

I've just read some of he reviews on this cafe and can't understand it! I went in here yesterday with my husband, brother and sister in law. Admittedly we only had coffee and hot chocolate, but these were all excellent. Lovely lady owner, chatted to us about Gr Yarmouth. Cafe was clean, and very good prices for drinks.

Went here for breakfast with my wife, there was one older lady who was serving, cooking and bringing food out. She was very rude (unless you were a local).We had 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees. The the breakfasts were edible, beans looked like they had been microwaved a few times though. The coffee was like dish water so my wife asked for a stronger one, the rude lady behind the counter snapped "well you will have to pay for it" she the put a teaspoon of cheap instant coffee in the cup and handed it back saying 30p. After we had eaten my wife needed to go to the toilet, as she got up to look for the toilet the rude old dear came over to me and snapped "where does she think she is going?" I said my wife needs the toilet to which the rude old dear said "well there is no access so you will have to go to the public ones over the road.At that point we left. Just a pity we had already paid!!I really don't know how this place is still open, doesn't the old dear understand no customers, no business. Simple!

It is just a cafe I know but manners cost nothing I didn't even bother to order food we had our drinks and left

Whenever we are in Yarmouth we go for breakfast at the sunshine, no hairs or graces this is a proper cafe, the lady owner always chats and my partner and son always have the super jumbo breakfast, if it feels them up for the day then it's definitely a super jumbo, reasonably priced and they do the best fried egg ever, see you next year Sunshine

Chicken curry please. Staff said 'dont do it.'. Asked for children's omlette, staff said don't do it Both dishes are advertised i said. They however did my son an adults omlette. This is just plain awkwardness. The big eyed lady was so rude she needs sacking

Well where do I start.... I have never had such bad service in a café all my life... !The woman behind the counter is soooo Rude, and hurry's you up when you order, also told can't use the toilets in the café (is this illegal??) 1 ketchup sachet per meal is unbelievable,
