Having just finished Sunday lunch at the restaurant I would like to compliment the food, but I am afraid I cannot. Generally speaking apart from one person having nice ham,egg and chips the remaining 9 dishes are a great disappointment.Would not bother to eat here again!

We were pleasantly surprised in the changes at Robin Hood. We had not been back for many months following bad experiences. Tonight the food was lovely, service outstanding and staff super friendly and professional. We loved our evening. Thank you!

Not the place to go to on a Sunday evening. When we arrived -slightly put off by dog allowed to sit in a customer chair in the bar area? Several popular items on the menu had run out; others had parts unavailable. The 'special' ordered by one of my family...entitled 'chicken with salsa' came with no salsa, so was very dry. Yorkshires were dry and cracked like meringue nests - inedible. Was told it was because they are kept warm for a long time in the oven! It was explained that they aimed to run out of many items by Sunday lunchtime to avoid waste. Offered free desserts - disappointing - see photo of sad ice-cream in very chipped pot. Waitress forgot to bring spoons which manager eventually rectified, by which time ice-cream mostly melted. Manager explained staff were very tired as it had been a busy lunchtime? We have visited The Hawk many times over many years and found things fine. Staff are very friendly so no complaints there; poor management though. Most of the week is very good...but avoid Sunday, after lunchtime!

Just had a very distressed elderly neighbour come round - went to a wake at the Kings Head, didn’t realise he needed to enter his car reg in a machine in the pub and has received a fine. The fine has taken three weeks to arrive and he’s only just within the timeframe to avoid it escalating to £100. Automated payment system moves rapidly through the instructions for payment and is impossible for someone who is hard of hearing to navigate. In better times maybe the staff at the pub knowing that they were hosting a sad event for older people who were likely to be distressed would have taken the time to ensure they understood what to do if they were using the car park sadly that sort of compassion is long gone! Tried ringing the pub but no-one answered - spoke to someone later who told me they were busy with another wake and would have cancelled the ticket but as the gentleman had paid it it was out of their hands. Stressed that it was the customers responsibility to read the notices scattered around the pub and comply with their instructions. No information about parking on their website.

Very interesting and delicious food e.g oysters in panko breadcrumbs. Lovely ambience on outside tables and lovely staff. Accommodating of food allergies eg gluten free, no black pepper etc. Enjoyed by family of 4 adults. Quietish on a sunny weekday lunchtime- mostly retired folks. Would be even better with slightly bigger cappuccino cups. £225 for starters, mains, nibbles, sides, no alcohol

Avoid if you are looking for a good Sunday roast dinner. Clearly wasn't freshly cooked for the plate . Veggies, roasts, yorkshires all cheap quality ones you can get from frozen food stores. Or they were very badly prepared. Very disappointing for £16. Won't return despite it being my local pub . Good for a drink on a sunny day in the garden. Shame - food used to be good
