Cambridge Blue in Cambridge

Attended in a group get together as a celebration on a super busy Thursday evening. Atmosphere was very chilled and super friendly from the moment I walked in. Food took a long while to arrive but it was worth the wait. Overally , a nice place for sure ✌️

There is a nice selection of beers, ciders, and sours. There is also a rotating menu. We had the smash burgers and the spicy chicken sandwiches. Both were top notch. The fries are seasoned perfectly!

Always been a fan of the blue. Didn’t have food but it looked good. Main issue is speed of service but the variety of drinks is great and the outside area is very good now.

Wide selection of obscure beers, good atmosphere

A fantastic find in Cambridge, we went to watch the rugby there a few weeks ago but unfortunately they didn’t show it so went back this weekend. They’ve got a fantastic selection of draught beers and ciders as well as Fridges loaded with beers from around the world. Would love to try the food one day and will definitely be going back in the summer months.

Lovely pub, great beer, Classic grumpy landlord (His heart is as warm as his head is shiny though!) Gets very busy in the evenings, a little pricey, but an overwhelming choice of booze. Great staff! Love you guys.

First visit to this local pub in Cambridge, amazing range in beers and ciders. Friendly locals and staff, highly recommend unless you are someone who can't enjoy a pint without ruining it for everyone else. Great establishment that shows how great a traditional pub in the UK can be or should be. Looking forward to visiting again in the future

Lots of great ales and ciders. We got the corner gazebo and it made for a wonderful space for small talk and stories.

Love it every time! Very busy sometimes but as long as you don't mind that, excellent social vibe and lovely outdoor seating (with a cover + heating in the winter). Unmatched beer selection to boot. 10/10 recommended for meet up with friends X

A local gem, with great food and huge selection of beers. I take all my friend here when they visit Cambridge- I tell them it’s the real Cambridge they won’t find on the punts or the bus tour. They are always pleased. Long live the Blue!

Beers and atmosphere get a 4. Food was a disaster though, complete waste of time and money, absolute shambles, pretty embarrassing to be real, they should pack it in, couldn't finish it, gets a 1.

Excellent choice of beers and ciders. Great food menu too. I had the sweet potato and goats cheese pie which was very tasty. Good service on the bar and with the food. Lively atmosphere as quite busy, but it was a Saturday evening and its not surprising its popular as such great range of beers.

One of the best pubs in Cambridge

TERRIBLE SERVICE. A group of about 16 of us came here for my birthday, we bought two packets of crisps and also had two packets of snacks from outside the pub (a birthday present). All of a sudden one of the bar staff snatched them away, spilling them over us in the process, saying 'there are signs everywhere, no food from outside'. Well there weren't any signs in the garden, where we were, and we hadn't seen the A4 sign at the door. We would have been happy enough to put them away if asked but didn't need to be treated like children without any polite conversation. So we all left after one drink - the Blue ended up losing a lot of money from us, over just two packets of snacks!

Lovely little pub off the typical beaten tourist tracks, great music, nice selection of beers, good food and mostly locals.

The food and drinks are amazing. They have vegan options and I enjoyed the burger I ordered a lot. I also ordered fries and sparkling apple juice. The staff is super lovely and helpful. Enjoyed my first experience here.

Really nice pub with friendly staff, and nice ambience. Only criticism is when I visited there were no golden, amber or rub ales on offer though - only IPAs and pale ales on tap - and I love a good old classic British tepid ale!

Excellent pub with wide variety of draft beers and probably the widest selection of bottled beers in Cambridge. Staff are friendly and helpful but the pub can get very busy, especially at weekends. It looks like a cozy back street pub from the outside but it's a large lively place with a great outdoor covered garden space. If you like choice and atmosphere then this is the place for you.

The beers in here are fantastic; fresh and varied. They’ve now outsourced their kitchen to another company, so the food is even better now too. Best pub in Cambridge in my opinion

Great pub, amazing range of beers - including several local brewery ones and a large outside area. Can take a while to decide which beer to go with as there are so many! Great staff and quick service even though the pub was busy.

A quiet afternoon visit, but locals and visitors all welcomed like old friends. Fab range of ales, and fine quality too.

Fantastic pub, always has been. Loads of beers and ciders, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the food is now managed completely separately via an app that requires you to put in loads of details, and portions aren't great.

Great pub with lovely food and fantastic selection of beers, can be a bit crowded at peak times, but there are lots of tables both inside and covered tables outside so you can almost always find a seat. Really pleasant and helpful staff.

Brilliant place with good range of beer and cider. Could do with more dry options though which is the only negative. Also tons of Belgian bottles.

Back in 2001 when I lived a few doors away the Cambridge Blue was six stars in every way. Tough to compete with my memories of the place, especially in the current economic climate, but the food is now burgers ordered on a terrible app, and the beer selection is less to my taste. I'll still go back though when I'm in town!

Great place with big garden to enjoy a warm evening! We enjoyed our food and we're happy under the tent there is no smoking or vaping. Beer selection is amazing! There is access to the Mill Rd cemetery and our daughter explored a bit, which was a plus to entertain her.

Great selection of beers! The best selection in Cambridge

The Cambridge Blue is a legend, and rightfully so. With a huge number of taps and several huge coolers full of outstanding (and hard-to-find) continental beers, you've got everything you want. The staff at the bar are just this side of surly, but that's perhaps understandable given the huge amount of seating, which means floods of people any day of the week. The decor is fantastic, and with so much outdoor seating (much of it under an awning), you're guaranteed a great visit.

Decent pub for drinks and hanging out, but food a let down. No in-person ordering, and not even an app: a website which didn't work when optional cookies were rejected. Took about 20mins to get the order in. Food was ok, but not great. Chorizo-spiced burger barely tasted of chorizo. Would recommend the Beyond Burger instead: that's always a safer bet. Price for that was decent. Chips very tasty, but very expensive. In summary, decent pub for atmosphere and drinks, but avoid if you're particularly interested in the food

Very nice pub, good food, decent selection of ciders, a big garden. We were looking for a place to grab a bite and get drinks on Sunday afternoon, went to a couple of pubs in area - at one place they didn’t serve any food at 6pm, at another they didn’t have a table for six people. The Cambridge Blue was the the third place we went to, and third time WAS a charm 😊 My Smashed Burger was tasty, loaded fries were garlicky and flavorful and the fuzzy cider I ordered was, well, fuzzy and cold. There is a big outdoor garden/patio, which is especially nice when one intends to enjoy a summer afternoon together with friends 🥰 Tip: One can’t order drinks together with food. For food, scan a QR code at the table and leave a lot of personal info (mail, name, phone) to pay for the yummies 😂 For drinks, order at the counter.

Scelto con google maps per la nostra tappa a Cambridge. Sicuramente fuori dai percorsi turistici ma vale sicuramente una visita. Probabilmente molto più attivo a cena. A pranzo eravamo 2 o 3 gruppetti di avventori. Ampia selezione di birre (ottime) mentre il menù era un pochino limitato. Tuttavia gli hamburger erano davvero ottimi! Attenzione: quando ordinate le patatine fritte arriveranno con una ampia spolverata di paprica. Se non piace, mettete nota nell'app di ordinazione. Prezzi nella media dell'inghilterra (70/75 sterline per pranzare).

It will always be one of my favourite pubs in Cambridge, great atmosphere with an exterior patio well covered for winter and open for summer. A really wide variety of beers especially lots of Belgians and German beers so you can try something new every time if you want.

Used to be our go to pub when watching football away in Cambridge, unfortunately they’ve made a switch from continental draft beers and down the predictable modern craft route, there are a lot of pubs selling craft beers and it’s a shame this is now one of them as it’s no longer the unique experience it once was. It’s still a nice pub with plenty of seating and friendly staff but not enough to keep returning given the abundance of pubs in Cambridge

Great food, amazing beer selection, and one of the best beer gardens in town. What else could you ask for?

The seasoned fries are absolutely delicious. Had to go back for seconds. The fifth star will be added when they get more soft drinks on tap. Seems such a shame to be charged so much for a tiny bottle of Coke when most places have the option of a draft cola of some variety.

One of the best pubs in Cambridge if not the best run by knowledgeable staff as well. Situated off Gwydir Street roughly 10 min walk from the train station. It boasts a vast array of bottled beers (all well kept and priced), craft beers (12), cask ales (14), ciders (7), and spirits as well as soft drinks. It has a lovely back garden which is a real sun trap and also has a very friendly Robin. Also has an undercover area for those who like shade. Smoking and vaping is permitted in the garden but not under cover. Food is run by a separate company called Gorilla and Lamb. I can recommend the hot dogs, chicken wings and especially the Hearts of Romaine. Well worth a visit if you're in Cambridge.

What happened to this place? They used to be nice, and we went regularly, even purchased some growlers during covid to help them stay afloat. Now instead they are so rude. They seem that are bothered by you, though you are making their business run. Disappointed!
