Lovely country pub and dining. Good selection of Ale and IPA, unfortunately I have yet to have a decent pint! I either keep getting the bottom of the barrel or the lines need cleaning! Staff are friendly enough.

Chain pub, but great service and good atmosphere (Saturday lunchtime). Popular with families after kids football.

Lovely lunch at the Plume of feathers today. My husband has coeliac disease and was catered to brilliantly thanks to their gluten free menu, very specific allergen list, and separate fryer. Food and staff were lovely especially speaking to the new General Manager Mark. Sounds like he has some exciting plans for the pub and has already clearly made a great impact. Well done Mark and team.

I love coming to this pub! The food is lovely and the staff are so welcoming and friendly and more than happy to help! I have been here a few times with my partner and t we’ve always left very satisfied! The beer garden is massive and has a lovely climbing frame for the kids to go and play on and enough green for them to run around! It also has a lovely view of horses whilst you drinking your drink and even eating! I’ll definitely will be coming back again! Thank you for such a lovely experience and thank you for the lovely food ☺️☺️

Came here with the family today, sat in the beautiful garden that has stunning views of the countryside, it was very busy basically every table in use but the staff handled it brilliantly 👏🏼 perfect organisation there. Food was perfect and cannot wait to spend more sunny days here!

This is a very attractive old pub in a lovely village. There were 7 of us with children aged from 2-9. The service was particularly friendly and helpful and our table was perfectly placed. The food was fairly typical corporate pub food, but was well prepared and presented. The garden was great for the children and they really enjoyed themselves. We would definitely go there again.

Lovely pub in Tewin. Nice outdoor seating area in the grass. I had called the night before and was told they were fully booked but we could sit in the outdoor area. What I wasn't told was that we wouldn't be allowed to order mains because they were fully booked. Quite disappointing. Appreciated them allowing us to order sides and dessert. So the Cheesy Garlic Ciabatta was nice.

Fantastic meal, very tasty sunday roast and desserts just delicious! Truly made our large family Easter gathering! Special mention to the excellent and attentive staff! Great seating arrangements and young children loved the garden and adventure apparatus. Overall great experience would fully recommend for a family event or a quiet meal for a couple!

Absolutely stunning interior for those who like the original beams visible, extremely clean and comfortable as well as very accommodating for those with disabilities and allergies! Ample parking and food to die for .. one of my favourite places to dine. I tell everyone to go and try it out for themselves 🥰

Came to this pub for mother's day to have a family meal and it was a very pleasant experience. Food tasted amazing and came out quickly drinks were amazing too. Our server was Conrad who was very attentive and efficient which made our meal very enjoyable. Very nice atmosphere as well as being a very clean pub nice decor too .Very friendly staff would come agian for another meal.

made a booking for mothers day and I've got to say it was absolutely perfect. all the staff who came to our table were incredible, polite and patient. table was cleared between each meal and were offered more drinks when glasses were getting low, not to mention the delicious desserts after having our lovely roasts. huge shoutout to Havana, Jed and Conrad for the excellent service on the floor, as well as everyone in the kitchen for the delicious meals. the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, so without a doubt we will definitely stop by again to make even more mouth-watering memories.

Having been with friends it was clear that the atmosphere and normal services have been disturbed from a leadership perspective rapidly changing from a once happy comfortable place to meet to an avoid and find another location. Very much a shame but when you notice staff are not happy it reflects on to the customer. Like I said,such a shame.

We visited the plume of Feathers this week as a walking group of 14. I have to say everything was excellent. The pub got really busy but the service and the wide selection of food was really well cooked and presented as usual. The manager in particular ensured all our requirements were catered for in a friendly manner, including coming to the table to take the drinks order rather than us queue at the bar. The week before we did a pre walk and the pub was not that busy, this week for the walk as mentioned was very popular. We regularly use the plume of feathers; arriving at about 10.15, go in and pre-order our lunch and use the loo ! Returning about 12.30 the pub will have rearranged the table according to how many of there are of us. Food is then served shortly after we arrive for all of us together. We are not rushed so a leisurely lunch and chat. We will be back later in the year and have our lunch in the garden.

We have had many pub lunches here in the pub area with no cause for complaint. And used to be regular Sunday lunch customers under the previous management. However following a couple of not good evening meals in the restaurant we have avoided it. But after looking at reviews thought we would try again and booked to celebrate our 45th anniversary. Our roast dinners were lukewarm and portions small, the brown quarter of red apple on plate was very unappetising. No one came to check if meal was ok and no staff around to grab attention to tell that the meals were lukewarm. Having sat for 30 mins with dirty plates finally we went to the bar to ask for desert menus. When they were brought over we told the young man the meals were lukewarm and he apologised. 15 minutes later we went to bar to order deserts as no one came over and a member of staff then came to table. No one asked if we wanted more drinks, no one asked if we wanted coffees. 3 tables around us needed clearing, 2 done partially, one left with a tray and unused cutlery and the other with used serviettes. Neither wiped down and reset. Had to go to bar to pay bill, again no staff in restaurant area. Recommend light lunches in bar, will be avoiding restaurant.

What a beautiful pub, with countryside views, lovely food and such polite and welcoming staff. We came here on Thursday last week and will definitely be returning, there was one thing that really stood out, we had paid for an extra drink that we didn't have and hadn't even noticed to be honest but the lady in charge came over so apologetic and explained what had happened and gave us the money back now that is pure honesty (not a lot of that left in the world) I give this pub 10 out of 10 on all counts

Terrible experience here on Wednesday table booked for7.15 ordered the serloin steak with salad for me husband wanted lamb shank but they had run out so he settled for pork belly. Food came out after quite a wait (there were only 6 diners in). My steak was cooked how i wanted it but it was so tough couldn't eve cut it and loads of salad but no dressing. Huby said his pork was nice but new straight away the mash was from a packetbar service was non existent the barman disappeared for about 20 minutes so no-one could order drinks. All in all a very disappointing expererience will not be coming back. After we got home £68 for dreadful food and 2 glasses of wine not worth the money. Next day hubby was extremely ill so can only presume it was the pork.

Had a very pleasant lunchtime meal last week. Food was well cooked, and nicely presented. Jed was our main server and was particularly attentive to us.

Absolutely brilliant, food was fast and delicious, Jed was an amazing weighter, gave recommendations and is an asset to the pub. Atmosphere was unmatched and the views of the garden were splendid, would 100% recommend to all.

What a lovely pub! We have past through Tewin several times and didn't know this pub was here, so glad we found it. The welcome you receive is heart warming and made you feel like you had been a customer for years. Stacey and Tom are very proud of the place and its clear to see why. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

Average food. Carvery should be renamed "microwavery". Also advise not ordering via the app as orders appeared to be picked at random by tombola an hour later

took some of my family out for a nice get together meal and we couldn’t be happier. the atmosphere of the plume really makes you feel at home, and it’s always nice to sit by the fire when it’s chilly out. shoutout to our wonderful servers Liam and Liz, they were very friendly and happy to help, and a shoutout to the cook too for making our meals! very delicious. i couldn’t have had a better time with the family. just an overall great place to eat :)!

Had the best meal of Veg Gnocchi.

The staff were clueless and the manager was rude. It took ages to get served and starters arrived before the drinks. Many items were unavailable , a couple on the next table walked out. I asked if they were understaffed but did not get an answer. Waited ages for a desert but we were never asked. When I complained to the manager she shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Food was average. Real shame as it's a beautiful old pub and could be lovely if the staff have a .... .

Visited the Plume of Feathers with family today for Sunday lunch. It was one of the best we’ve had for a long time. Great service, super friendly staff and beautiful building and surroundings. Would highly recommend.

I don't know if these ever get read, I have tried to call a few times but it appears that your phone line is always busy. My name is Edward and I have a young daughter who was lost in Tewin after visiting a friends party a few weeks back. She was walking around alone in the late hours of the night but happened to come across one of your pubs with its lights still on The Plume of Feathers. She banged on the door of the pub and was greeted by your manager Thomas. I was on the phone to her at the time and could hear how he treated and helped Beth, as she suffers from asthma she needed to rest for long periods of time he welcomed her inside, gave her water and something to eat until I was able to arrange a lift for her. I met him and his dog and I can honestly say he is the nicest northerner I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He recently lost his mother and was coping by keeping himself busy with tasks until the late hours it seems. We lost Beths mum last year to Covid, I was blown away with the news, so I would like to just make a mention to how much of a gentleman you have working for you. His mum would be proud. I have emailed the pub but didn't get a reply, I just want to Thank Thomas again he is always welcome in the Teach house hold if he's ever in the area. Update: Visited yesterday with Beth, still an amazing welcome from Thomas, truly inspiring to meet such a lovely guy in the world.

4 of us booked for Christmas Day Dinner in 2023. The "Plume" was very well decorated and we had a view of the garden and countryside beyond. The staff were excellent and attentive. There were sufficient gaps between courses for us to chat with each other and we never felt rushed, which we liked. The food was, for the most part, a very good standard and was well cooked and presented. We felt one or two items could have been more accurately described, e.g. the terrine starter was not as expected & very dry. A pate would have been preferable. It was a very enjoyable experience and we would certainly book for a similar occasion. We also felt it was good value. The team who served us were very professional. We will definitely return to the "Plume" during 2024. Thank you to all there for making it such a great experience.

A lovely welcome when we arrived and great service the whole of our visit Service was really quick even when it was quite busy It’s a shame we live an hour away as it is very charmful. This was the 1st time we had dined out on Christmas Day so we were a bit apprehensive but it was perfect! Not only did they cater for non-gluten, with no fuss whatsoever but the food and atmosphere was perfect! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere and the staff were amazing! Nothing was too much trouble, all very attentive and friendly. Manager was friendly and attentive too. We will definitely be booking for next Christmas! Thank you to all for making our Christmas Day perfect!

Ordered food. Sat a table. Moved from table no 1 as friends of the bar staff wanted that table. Offered table 2. Anywhere in that area. Food arrived. Bread roll you could build a house out of. 3x 50p size fish goujions on a bed of lettuce. No butter of mayo on bread. All for £10! About 3 minutes later a member of the public started barking that we were sat at their table. Staff didn't even bother to come and sort. Finally finished lunch at table no 3 Don't come here. Plenty of other options near by.

Had meal for 6 in the busy run up to Christmas. Pub was very well decorated. Choice meals good good and served in an acceptable period of time. Only flaw was my wife ordered a salad instead of chips and it consisted mainly of leaves

Had the roast dinner - Turkey slimy, carrots and parsnips not roasted and flavourless, the pigs in blankets looked liked they hadn’t been cooked and were very unappetising and the cranberry sauce had a horrible taste. Wouldn’t recommend. When walking into the pub 3 staff members walked past us and no eye contact and no acknowledgment. When walking through the pub past the bar the manager acknowledged. The waiter could see would no cutlery and asked if we would like some for our roast. What a silly question?!

Don’t trust any of the reviews you see on here… overheard staff talking about reviews they left… I asked several for their names in conversation and they match the reviews…me and my family dined here and the food was much to be desired… all bought in and microwaved by the seems of it! The general manager couldn’t seem to care less… definitely would not recommend. I just feel bad for the staff as clearly they were uncomfortable working there… don’t blame them judging by who their boss is!

We had booked breakfast with Santa experience for a family of 4. We had a lovely leisurely breakfast. The food was hot and the staff accommodated my son’s food preferences with no issues. Our children enjoyed their visit with Santa and it was so nice that he spent time chatting with them, rather then it being rushed. I fully recommend this experience and will be definitely coming back again.

What stood out, however, was the impeccable service we received from Thomas. He greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel welcome right from the start. Really friendly and helpful staff who couldn't do more to help with a smile on their face, a rare find sometimes these days. Burger was delicious and made quickly despite large Christmas parties obviously happening at the same time.

Having recently visited for a meal I can truly say this place is amazing. Staff are friendly especially Marco who really made our evening, food was delicious and clearly managed exceptionally well. Highly recommend.

My wife and I visited the Pub on Saturday night for a meal, our table booking was 7.15pm . We sat ourselves at a table in the empty restaurant. There was one occupied table in the corner of about 6 people we should have guessed then it was going to be bad . We reviewed the menu and decided on the Prawn and Avocado cocktail to share as a starter followed by Steak deal which was Two 28 day aged steaks either Sirloin or Rump, with two glasses of wine £30 . The accompaniments were grilled Tomato, skin on fries and Onion rings. We placed our order to be then told that they only had one steak which was a Sirloin and they had no lemons for the Avocado and Prawn cocktail. This should have sounded the warning bells as a restaurant on a Saturday night at 7.15 which is early with only one steak, unbelievable!! Not wanting to leave the restaurant we ordered the Sirloin steak medium and a Cheddar and bacon burger. The Avocado and Prawn cocktail came out, I thought there was a hidden camera and someone was going to jump out it was so bad!!!. Why we didn’t send it back I don’t know? the Avocado was black and stunk the prawns were so swimming in thick pink mayonnaise and the Prawns simply tasted of the mayonnaise and nothing else. The garnish was well thought though it consisted of the dark green outer leaves of a Gem lettuce stuck down the side of the glass. Something that a 12 year old home economic’s student would create not a so called chef!!! Needless to say we only ate a tiny bit as I don’t like shop bought mayonnaise and old lettuce leaves and black avocado that stinks. The main course arrived surprise, surprise no skin on fries, our fries were the frozen type no tomato at all and 2 stuck together onion rings. The steak Oh the steak!!! That I had ordered medium I think just stopped mooing. !!!! It was Rare I do not like rare steaks if I did I would have asked for it rare. That was the least of my worries it was so tuff it was unedible. No wine the burger was disgusting it was dry thrown together and tasteless. My local kebab shop burgers are one thousand times better and one tenth of the price. Never again all for the bargain price of £73.62

The Plume of Feathers is a great place and never fails to provide a great time. We came in today without a reservation, but we’re easily accommodated. Thomas, was extremely welcoming and friendly, as were the rest of the staff. The food was superb. I had the ale pie and mash and my wife the veg roast. We were even given a side of cauliflower cheese on the house 🤗. The food was delicious and comforting. What more can be said!
