No complaints staff/food/cleanliness all great and the manager was a thoroughly nice guy.

Waiter Zac was very attentive, polite, efficient and service was perfect. Meals were delicious would highly recommend.

The pub itself seemed quite a nice place, and had welcoming atmosphere. Went there for a birthday Sunday roast, but on arrival was told no roasts were available as they had all sold out, so not a good start. Decided instead to have the pie of the day. Chicken and pancetta. Sounded quite nice, but was then also told its not available as had sold out. Ended up just ordering a burger as nothing else on menu appealed. Not the best experience we've had, and although the manager was very apologetic, I doubt we'll risk booking this place again for food if they cant keep their menu available, although would probably drink here again. We had booked in advance and could have been contacted prior to arrival, explaining the menu issues. Shame, because it had a nice atmosphere, but just a poor customer experience on this occasion.

My family decided they were going to take me out for an evening meal and we went to The Robin Hood, Clayton. We had a lovely evening, food was excellent, staff were very attentive and atmosphere was very relaxing. We all enjoyed the evening so much, another visit is definitely on the agenda. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends.

Food was hot and a good quality . They were very busy and we had to wait approx 20 mins from the point of ordering but the environment was cosy and we could relax with efficient and lovely staff . Will definitely be returning

Fantastic local pub, cosy atmosphere, and great food which also caters for vegetarians/vegans. Kiera and Zac served us, they were very chatty and attentive...service with a smile. We love to take our dog with us wherever we can and the Robin Hood really does cater for him as much as us, he is spoilt for attention and pretty much all staff will pop over to fuss him. Thank you for being so welcoming and dog friendly.

Although we usually enjoy our time here today was not good, premises were cold, food was cold, so called hot drinks were cold. far to long between courses

Visited on Valentine day. Visited before and the food wasn’t great. So we thought give the place one more try, ordered the starters and the mains, starters I had king prawn and scallops. There was 3 king prawns and 3 scallops which tasted funny and wasn’t nice. The mains I had pork belly.l which was okay but nothing to ride home about, the tender stem Was hard, the gravy was nice, the scallops was burnt on one side and tasted horrible. The waiter guy gave us the dessert menu said he would be back but never did until 30mins later. The couple next to us was chatty and blamed new owners for the mistakes. Sorry but it isnt the owners fault that the food was horrible it’s the chefs in the kitchen. We definitely won’t be back again gave this place enough chances

Food turned up warm seemed it was put in microwave the potatoes were warm up quiet hard stuffing inedible but it was nice what we did eat shame.

Great food and a lovely cozy atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable and you get a great sized portion. Our serve Megan was brilliant. Very attentive and took great care of me and my friend. She was very chatty and friendly too. Would recommend this place and definitely will be back!

Went for a meal with frend on entering the atmosphere was very welcoming with log burner and fire going on a wet and cold night We were meet with friendly staff and welcomed we were not rushed and had a very nice time there

Waited over 1 hour for our starters then at least 50 minutes for our mains in this restaurant nearly 3 hours and only had 1 drink each no staff came to our table and asked if we wanted more drinks there was 7 adults and 2 children how much money was lost through not drinking

Very quiet Monday night. Mischarged for a half pint as a full pint. The TimothyTaylors tasted odd and the happily changed for a DoomBar. So far so good. The refund was not half the price of the TT but half the Doom which was less. Very odd.

Arrived late and missed the roasts but the other menu options were great and we all left happy after a great evening.

Excellent service in a warm and inviting pub. I would especially recommend the servers that day, Paul was such a great comfort, and entertaining. Also Connor and Zac. Food was very tasty and reasonable. Will be going again soon. Wheelchair access was good.

We had a wake catered for us at Robinhood following recommendation. Food was great and enjoyed by all. The location was comfortable and allowed people to sit and eat as well as stand and circulate. Had a very enjoyable experience here recently. Visited for a spot of lunch and was very impressed. The staff were very friendly and the quality of service was of a high standard. Good food and good portion, had the Beef Red Wine Lasagne, and it was lovely. 100% will be returning.

Very friendly staff and helpful. The service was very good and so was the food. Good value for mor money

The food was nice apart from calamari which was incredibly hard and over cooked. The service was very basic, we ordered via the qr code, it took 25 mins for our starters to come out and then nobody came to check up on us if we were finished and ready for mains. Another 20 mins later and the mains came out. We still had our plates from starters on table. We also ordered a drink when we placed the food order which never arrived, we had to go to the bar and remind the staff to make the drink. The pub allowed us to bring our dog into the bar area but a customer was really rude and talking about us and our dog saying it was disgusting and the woman behind the bar didn’t say anything to him. I wanted to leave as I felt really unwelcome but we had driven there specifically based on recommendations. Overall I wouldn’t go back.

Had a meal here on the 11 jan 2025, can I say what lovely food, service especially the tall young lady with the pony tail, she was such a good waitress, couldn’t do enough for us. Will defiently be back.

Good food great service manager was hands on and attentive

We booked a table for 6 on Friday which was ready for us when we arrived. Megan was our server she was welcoming, very funny and very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was very good we all had something different and couldn't fault a thing. We will definitely be back and would recommend.

Christmas Day great expectations sadly not so starters were ok main 3 turkeys pretty dry the advertised crispy fluffy roast potatoes were what seemed to be part boiled and scorched in some way vegetables had an ok taste but were limp and lifeless my main beef wellington advertised as medium was a disgrace way beyond well done had to ask for a steak knife and struggled to chew it had to leave the meat pastry was great same excuse for roast potatoes this meal should never have left the kitchen ( about an hour after table next to us got an amazing beef wellington maybe there was a problem with booking at 1.30 pm) dessert was great as were waiting and bar staff in all this was far far below what was expected for just under £300 and the reason i didn’t complain was my daughter’s said it was Christmas and asked me not to. PS a two bob bottle of sparkling on the table wouldn’t have lost me a £20 bet………… J Ellis

Really disappointed despite nice staff and good food. Booked a table for 12 for my mum’s 70th but when we arrived our table was occupied by others and we were told to wait whilst they scrambled a table together in the pub corridor. I booked the table 5 months in advance and called the week before to check all was okay and in the end we were let down. Left with a feeling of sadness.

Building dates from 1823, so ye older country house type of restaurant. Very good food & excellent service from staff, especially zany Megan, who was fantastically funny, helpful & charming. Mainly a restaurant but locals still drop in for just a drink.

Best place I've been... Totally changed with Amy being here. Made me feel comfortable and welcome didn't need to wait for a drink which makes a change. Amy really has made a difference to that place. Great atmosphere and relaxed. Now I feel welcome again with a smiley face as I walk in.

Stopped in for lunch and staff were so accommodating for our family member in a wheelchair. Excellent service and Amy in particular made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend a visit. A few weeks after this review my father passed away and we arranged to have his wake at the Robin Hood as it was the last place he had eaten out. Staff were amazing, so accommodating and compassionate and the food was also fantastic. Their personal touch made a difficult evening that much easier.

Waem welcome. Fantastic meal and drinks. Good selection of ales larger and wines. Food superbly presented and very tasty.

Never had worse service. Waiting for ridiculous amount of time for everything and they forgot drinks orders on multiple occasions. In addition to this, all staff sat there together chatting and chilling. Missed off basics like giving steak knives (had to repeatedly ask) and gave orders to the wrong people. It was our grandmother / mothers 90th birthday so a very special occasion pretty much ruined. New manager was very apologetic and went some way to making things better. And gave discount which was appreciated. She assured the service is being worked on. Overall though a shockingly bad experience. Also more plant based options needed.

We came here last Sunday for lunch with family as we have not got together in a while! I had not been to The Robin Hood for at least 3 years, but must say what a lovely dining experience! The food and surroundings were delicious and warming made even better by the fabulous service from out waitress Megan! She really made our visit extra enjoyable with her energy and funny personality! It must be said that she was also very professional and personable! Will definitely be returning! Xx

Had a lovely meal at The Robin Hood yesterday evening. We had Stacy as our waitress, she was friendly and helpful. We also had a great conversation with Amy, the assistant manager who answered a few questions we had. All round lovely evening.

The atmosphere here is lovely, warm and inviting. Our waitress ‘Megan’ was lovely, lively and engaging. She did her upmost to make us laugh and made the effort to check on us multiple times which we found to be very thoughtful. Amy the assistant manager was equally as attentive and polite and couldn’t have done enough to ensure we had a lovely evening, however Tilly at the bar was grumpy and somewhat dare I say it, Rude! She seemed uninterested and lacking in effort. She seemed as though she didn’t want to be here unlike everyone else. Sorry!! Great place and we plan to come back often!

What an amazing pub. Food is amazing, Stacy and Amy are simply brilliant!

Just had an excellent, family lunch in this pub and loved it. Starting with Amy who sat us at a very comfortable table and took our drinks order. After a few minutes she came back and explained a few things on the menu and we ordered. I had the Signature Burger... It was a different level and highly recommended. My wife had the Gammon and Eggs which she loved. The other members of our party had the Lasagne and the Chicken Pie. We were all delighted with the meal and the service. We will be back. Thank you Amy and thank you the Robin Hood.

The battered fish was poor, I think changing the oil in the fryer would help and a more generous portion of mushy peas would have been appreciated.

We come here regularly and have been pleasantly surprised to see Megan has moved from the Kingscliff to The Robin Hood. She is an absolutely fantastic edition, bringing great energy and fun wherever she goes. An absolute credit to the business and we will now make a special effort to come more often not only for the great food, but for the fantastic service and experience Megan provides. Keep killing it Megan!

We are down for a few days to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. When we arrived at tte restaurant we were greeted by Megan who was so friendly & welcoming. My mother has dementia & is easily confused and Megan was considerate to her needs. Megan chit chatted to us while we ordered & I learned that Megan is a fellow Lutonian which was amazing 😂 We didn’t feel rushed, the food was delicious & our table was ideal. A different chair was instantly produced for a mature lady who prefers a higher one with arms. All in all a great birthday celebration which was enhanced by the service Megan & the Robin Hood team gave.

We recently visited the Robin Hood Pub with our friends who were in town, making it a party of four. Megan, our server, was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and she made a big fuss over our friends’ border collie, Red, which really added to the warm atmosphere. The food was served quickly and was of good quality, offering excellent value for money. The pub has a lovely, friendly atmosphere, and the manageress even came over to meet Red—definitely a dog-friendly place! We will absolutely be returning.
