Fantastic roast, and the server had a great sense of humour.

Very friendly and well run local pub.

On the 15t of February I booked for a Afternoon Tea in there I treated my friend for her special Birthday wow jane did her self proud the food was just lovely the table was laid special for us there was also a vase with fresh flowers on the table as well my friend enjoyed her Afternoon tea and we also had a goodie box each with left over cakes to enjoy later at home Thank you again Jane for making our day special we will be in soon for a Sunday Roast

Food was good value. Good but not great. Nice decor, polite staff. Found fish and chips to be both slightly undercooked and seemingly not seasoned at all. Batter a bit bland. Bit of a let down, also not great tar tar from a sachet. It was a bit better than OK, mostly down to nice pub and service

Three of us came here for a meal today 27/01/24, was served by a friendly waitress Olivia, the food was great, and very reasonable lovely atmosphere, Olivia was very welcoming and provided a great service. We will be back when next visiting Walton.

Just had a lovely walk with my elderly mum along the seafront and decided to try out Izzy's home made steak pie at the Queen's Head. My mum isn't prone to giving complements but she says it was the best steak pie she has every had that she hasn't made herself. I have to agree it was scrumptious. We had the small portion with chips and peas and that was plenty. The pastry was crisp light and buttery and the pie was chock full of succulent tasty meat. Melt in the mouth lovely. The venue is quite small which I view as a good thing, means they can get really good at what they do. Nice friendly staff, good atmosphere and music, very clean. A lovely place to stop for a family meal.

Visited on a very busy Sunday, and me and my partner ordered steak pie and cod. We were told the steak pie was homemade and it didn’t disappoint! The food was amazing here and the service was amazing. Our waitress was Olivia and she was polite and very professional! I would definitely come again.

Year ago today I visited this lovely pub/restaurant, this time I decided to eat here, and wasn’t disappointed, lovely ham (proper ham) egg and chips was very yummy and a good price too. Lovely pub visit if your in the area, I will return next year (yum yum lady lol)

Booked afternoon tea for myself and 2 friends, I eat quite regularly at the queens head and couldn’t wait to try their new afternoon tea. We was pleasantly surprised, so much food, comprising of a wonderful selection of sandwiches, a chocolate and avocado mouse, a white chocolate and raspberry bomb, Blueberry and lemon cakes (delicious) scones served with clotted cream and jam. And copious amounts of tea .A lovely touch was the two macarons in a box to take home, as I really couldn’t fit anymore in, but thoroughly enjoyed later that evening. The presentation was beautifully done, and staff were amazing as always. If you live local or are just visiting I highly recommend you book your afternoon tea now. Now hoping to try their evening festive menu. Thank you Queens Head.

Only went in the once, ordered the cod, like others have said no way this was cod. Cod doesn't have black skin, was quite poorly later and that was all I had eaten. Wouldn't recommend this place, although waitress worked hard.

A lovely afternoon lunch once again at The Queens Head. I had the Steak Pie which melted in the mouth and my wife had the Chicken Caesar salad with croutons that she loved. Olivia our young waitress was quick to seat and serve us with a lovely nature, thank you.

Great spot for quick lunch.... Helpful friendly staff... Food and drinks came very promptly... Good value for money.

We never ate there just had some drinks as it was my birthday but had a lovely time there that evening.

Dropped in when visiting Walton-on-the-naze. Lovely staff, incredibly friendly. The mixed sea bowl was fantastic. Plenty of food and at a sensible price. Dog friendly in the bar area. If I was more local I'd visit more! I'll look forward to returning should I be back in the area

Decide to eat here after looking at the reviews. Had high hopes, what let down.both of us had fish and chips. Fish was cod? Both pieces had a hard line though the the centre. Chips showed no signs of colour. Peas very poor quality and i mean poor. Two young girls worked there butts off trying to keep every body happy. and don't a fine job. Shame the food didn't match there service. it was a busy hot Saturday and they didn't stop. Would never go back to this place on this experience

Not much of a Vegan choice (for my guests) food was good and the service with a smile even on the busiest day of the year.

Was recommended to try by my Daughter who had visited recently. We were not dissapointed, I had Steak Pie, the steak melted in the mouth, my wife had beef raost, again really nice. Entertainment provided by Dan Fraser on Guitar who proved to be brilliant.

Lovely public house in main street serving lunchtime food. Friendly welcome, efficient service. Premises clean and nicely decorated. Dog friendly in bar areas. We'll be back.

Very quite Saturday afternoon in the head so quick and good service by the young lady. I had chicken roast partner had fish chips massive meals good price too medium white wine 🍷 pint of Stella £31 be back again.

Very pretty pub with old ornaments, comfy seats and magners on draft woop woop, staff were very polite too I just wish it was a little lower in its prices but I understand due to it being quiet on week days by the looks of things

This is a typical High St pub. The food was delicious & cheap. Not gourmet cuisine, but tasty & filling. There was a guy playing guitar & singing when we were there. He was good. I enjoyed it.

1st time we have been in this pub found it very welcoming good choice of beers although we did not eat the food looked really good will be going back to try some

We was recently on holiday and passed The Queens Head heading into town on a Sunday morning so we decided to pop in on our way back and glad we did We went in for a Sunday roast but hadn’t booked but they managed to find us a table. Welcoming us with a friendly manner to make us feel welcome The service was brilliant and efficient with all staff polite and attentive The food itself, was amazing and tasted like proper home cooked food with plenty of taste. Good size portions and very tasty!! We had roasts and our son had the steak pie which was amazing!!! We left very full and happy

Lovely food pub was great. But I felt rushed before everyone had finished was just eating dessert. I was told by a member of staff that she would get the bill as they needed the table for the next customer, which was booked in 5 minutes ago

I've been visiting Walton on the Naze for some years now as one of my closest friends moved there. I'm vegan, eating out was either almost impossible or the menu had Falafel and humus (as do most places, dull) The Queens Head has a nice selection of choices, not LOADS, but honestly, nice options ... something like a bhaji burger, wild mushroom risotto, fajita. The atmosphere was relaxed. The staff actually checked the guacamole (without me asking) and it was veggie, not vegan .... maybe they can get a new supplier, as a fajita without both guacamole and sour cream is a wee bit sad, but I appreciated that they checked. My friends hadn't really been there, but are definitely going back, and I will be happy to when I visit.

Our experience of good food and service has always been there at the Queens Head. Stevie our waitress is extremely helpful and knows how to look after the customers.

A real local boozer this one, very friendly staff local people and beer for the gents and wine for the ladies. Been to a couple of quizzes here also very good. Not far from the pier so easy walk after all the excitement.

We visited this month with 3 children, myself and my parents for a lunch. Upon literally sitting down, the server came over and asked what we were having to drink. We hadn’t even been seated for more than 20 seconds or given a menu. We quickly ordered the drinks and then looked at the menu. In our party, we had my Autistic Daughter( aged 9). She wanted the adults fish and chips but won’t eat any foods if its mixed. The server came back over to ask for our food order and i said that she would like the Cod and Chips but with no lemon, tartare or peas on the plate. The servers response was ‘ But its very big’….. so i said thats fine and she went ‘ But the portion is very big’. Why does it matter…. She isn’t the one paying. I yet again stated it’s fine and she wrote down ‘Cod & Chips’. I then ordered the youngers 2’s nugget meals and she went ‘ Sorry, fish fingers. I wasn’t listening’….. this was so rude! I repeated the Chicken nuggets. I then confirmed that The Cod & Chips would be completely plain, just the Cod & the chips on the plate. She ignored me. My mum then confirmed it also to which she replied ‘ yeah it’ll be plain’. My mum made a comment that the server hadn’t written it down which she ignored yet again. She then asked if there was anything else and my daughter asked for another straw, to which she was told of course. The straw never came. When the food arrived, surprise surprise, massive lemon wedge directly on top of the Cod and the chips. I stated as she put the plate down that it was meant to be completely plain, as asked for, 3 times. She literally giggled and just walked off. We then had a child who would not eat the food. This person could not take the orders correctly, was not concentrating in the slightest and couldn’t even offer a remedy on a mistake made by herself. Its not good enough. You don’t expect to go to an establishment, pay good money, and get ignored and simple requests not listened to.

Set in a lovely village, large restaurant and bar. Busy for sunday lunch but good atmosphere. Good size portions, good quality food and service. Parking on site.

We are so pleased to have finally had the perfect excuse (keeping out of the way of carpet fitters) to call in to this local pub and treat ourselves to an extremely good lunch today. Varied menu catering for all tastes, a warm welcome, a spacious dining area and very good value. My roast beef melted in the mouth and my husband's veggie burger certainly passed muster (good chips too!). Luckily another round of carpet fitting is booked for Friday, so we shall enjoy another visit to The Queen's Head to coincide.

Saw this pub on passing., as it look really nice. On entering was welcome by a lovely lady, we found a seat ( nice comfortable chairs) very clean. We stay for a couple of drinks and found a pub game to play (four blocks of wood) this was hilarious (we couldn’t even get it back in the box 😂 and passed it on to another couple we were all laughing. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant as full but food and service both looked good. Would definitely visit again and recommend you pop in.

Visited queens head for a drink this afternoon to do an assessment for going there for a meal with family later in the week. We also needed to check the dog friendly element as it was supposed to be that. I ordered a Guinness and a cider. Our puppy enjoyed the live singer but wasn’t used to hearing clapping which made her bark. She did not bark during the songs. She is in training and normally doesn’t bark in pubs. We decided to drink our drinks as quickly as possible because of this. A few people made a fuss of her which she loved. Sadly, before I had finished half of my drink, one of the bar staff said “if you can’t stop your dog barking you will have to leave!” I took my puppy to the other end of the pub near the door to finish my drink and was told quite aggressively by a man, “your not allowed to take your drink outside!” I said I wasn’t doing that just finishing my drink out of people’s way. My friend then left the pub with my dog and I quickly finished my drink. This experience really upset me as me and my dog were definitely not made to feel welcome and I definitely won’t be bringing my family to eat there in the week as I had planned. I feel as a paying customer, I should have been allowed to finish my drink without being asked to leave.

The staff and customers like to abuse the disabled and mock Poppy collectors.

Lovely mid-week roast, beef was very tender, roast potatoes nice and crispy, Yorkshire and veg just right, in a tasty gravy. Delicious.

We visited as a family of three with our toddler daughter. Both the adults and kids menus had a good selection of food and the prices were great - even better when the food came out. The portions were impressive - including the kids meal - and the food was tasty! The venue was clean and well decorated and the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. We had a lovely time. We’d recommend to others and plan to come back when we’re in the area.

Visited this pub several times during our 2 night visit. The lady behind the bar who had just come back after being off was very friendly, welcoming and friendly. Good selection of drinks, toilets, (ladies) were clean. Unfortuately they don't do food in the evening. Would certainly go back again when next in this town.

Since coming down to stay in Walton-on-the-naze we’ve popped in a few times. Every time we’ve come in the staff have been accommodating, friendly and welcoming. On our first visit we were handed some roast potatoes to taste and they were delicious.. to the point...

This Establishment Cannot Decide if its a Restaurant or a Pub !!! I prefer a Pub than a glorified overpriced eating house, but this place only stays open until 9.00pm , So not a place I would go to at all.

For little local pub the food was excellent, I had the homemade steak pie , you didn't need teeth to eat it , and it was very cheap bout 8 pounds for a full Sunday dinner

It was so refreshing to go to a pub and have no drama or issues ordering gluten free food. The food was freshly cooked and they were so accommodating, fresh grilled fish aans gluten feee chips, and a pudding not even on the menu, made...

Had Sunday lunch here twice. 3 choices of meats. Each time it has been very good and tasty. Yes, would recommend it if Sunday lunch is your thing.

We had a lovely lamb sunday roast it was hot and very tasty my only gripe is that you only get given two roast potatoes, a majority of people do love a potato and luckily for my husband I don't eat them so he was very happy to eat mine, apart from that I could not fault the food.
