Great value for money as always

Restaurant is Ok not bad not nor amazing its alright wouldn't really recommend in my opinion but I might recommend

As usual, excefood at great value. Sea views from so tables. Toilets spotless, staff friendly and food arrived promptly.

Spoons innit. Does exactly what you need it too. No hassle.

Very popular place was packed. Food ordered by app. Delivered quickly, staff friendly and helpful. As with all Wetherspoons (I've been to) excellent value for money.

This wetherspoon gets a bad rap from alot of people, probably people who have never drank in there, the beer is always in good condition, the staff are very professional and deal with issues quickly, there was an older couple in the night we where who where very loud and abusive but the duty manager was straight in to sort them out, we had a really good night out and would return any time.

Really busy but good service, excellent value for the money. Cheap but delicious cask ale just £2.63 per pint (Ruddles less than £2) Even though very busy the staff were on top of their game and kept the waiting time to a minimum. We had the Boneless Chicken Basket and the Ham Egg & Chips both were reasonably priced and delicious.

Nice wetherspoons right on the seafront, everyone enjoyed their food. Staff were friendly.

Dirty pub, tables and floors awful. Toilets grubby, music too loud to talk. Staff were nice but run off their feet.

Frequent visits to the Moon & Stars, clean & welcoming also located next to pier & central Clacton. Great menu reasonably priced & would highly recommend sticky Korean fried chicken bowl

Perfectly located opposite the pier. Clean and spacious with fast and friendly service. Food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. No complaints at all. Highly recommend.

Nice day for sitting in the sun with friends

This is my first review but I come to this Wetherspoons probably about twice a month. It's really good for an inexpensive meal and the drink is included in the price. It's just across the road from the pier so is very central. The service is quite speedy too and we've never had to wait long. One of the main reasons we come here is that Wetherspoons doesn't allow pet dogs in. Thank you, Wetherspoons, for appreciating that not everyone wants dogs around them when they're having a meal.

Staff always attentive and do a fantastic service to customers. Meals are always good and worth the money. We are so lucky to have this in clacton-on-sea.

Great pub, food good especially breakfast. Visit every time we stay in Clacton.

Offers Good down to earth small portions of food. Big selection and offers on certain days, can include the price of a drink. The service was quick. Order at the bar and delivered to your table. Staff members polite and friendly. Family atmosphere and it all felt really relaxed and people were enjoying themselves.

Friendly helpful staff very good quick service..food skinny chicken burger very hot on arrival next to small bowl of salad well presented. Tasty meal. and delicious. Would definitely recommend

Cold food .warm coffee .totally rubbish .was told water temperature on coffee machines had bin turned down because some idiot burnt their hand putting it under the water.probabky looking to get a free wash put this together with it's full of piss heads taking up tables ,one to a table from 8.30am every day ...total dump no wonder it's worst in essex should be relocated to J sick as quick as ....and dress code highered from smelly dirty scum level to washed once a week

Breakfast was good . Dinner not so good depending on what you have.

Ronnie served us a quality pint with great service and patience, also had great banter at the bar just an overall perfect pleasurable experience compared to the usual. Thanks to Ronnie for his great service and attitude!

Unfortunately we had to return our steak as it was very tough but the manager was very quick to sort it out

Dinner was not very warm, chips tasted like they had been heated up not fresh cooked. All food under my table from previous diner, will be a long time b4 I eat here again

We visited today for lunch although we waited for 45 minutes as it was very busy which is a very good thing , the service was excellent the waitress apologised for the delay , both of our meals were hot and of excellent quality 😀 we would definitely return here Highly recommended 😀

The staff were very polite and helpful. The whole pub was spotless. The food was good and they certainly know how to pull a pint.

Called in just for a drink and sat outside, the place was busy at 4 PM. Excellent value for the drinks a medium wine and a non alcoholicThatchers cost £5.03. I paid £5 in another pub just for the Thatchers!!

We visited on the day of the airshow so it was extremely busy. Managed to get a seat, and ordered our food on the app. Service and food was great, considering how busy it was. Lovely atmosphere

Great spot for a pint by the seaside.

Visited twice now and both times at least one member of my party was disappointed with the food. Seems a nice enough place but depending on what you order it can be a bit hit a miss. What confused me the most yesterday was me and another party member both ordered the same main the BBQ burger mine came with four onion rings his only had one small one. They also don't like using much custard on the desserts.

Had cctv in the toilets, which is very concerning. Drinks were reasonable. they don't allow dogs even outside, and there no sign stating that. Looks nice outside.

When I came in the waitress named Alan was extremely rude, the worst customer service I’ve had to engage with. the drinks were drinks. Won’t be returning

Nice atmosphere, cheap prices and friendly staff.

Staff are very rude and are unprofessional. The staff seem to struggle with manners and can not communicate well with customers. Personally I think the staff in this place need to be replaced with people who are experienced, who come across friendly and inviting, and most importantly who enjoy doing their job. This place could be so much better if the staff members made it feel welcoming. A friendly smile and a welcoming service goes a long way. Also clean toilets that don’t smell like something has died in there would be nice too.

Can get very busy at times. It could double in size and still fill every table

Another good witherspoons pub. Good everyday food at a very reasonable price, with excellent service. What more do you need, a good drink? They have that, too.

was having a great time with the family and kids until i came into here and watched the server with black and red hair spike someone's drink. wont be returning again, the food wasnt even nice, everyone seemed moody and very rude.

As Wetherspoons go, this was a good one. It was busy, as expected, but the staff were good and there wasn't a long wait for food, nor at the bar. A nice atmosphere.

Clearly staff and management didn't care about customers concerns regarding lack of soda in the coke or no milk at the hot drinks machine and didn't rectify and treated these issues with contempt and made you feel uncomfortable

Way too much noise and crowds. We left quickly.

Food was OK however took a long time to come out, appreciate it was a busy day but our friend's ordered the same time and we waited an additional 30 minutes. In the end one the the managers went to sort it and brought the food over it was boiling the bbq sauce like lava and the top of the burger quite stale - can only imagine it had been sitting under the hot plate for a long time. The place itself feels quite crammed in, and everything needs a good clean - toilets were awful absolutely disgusting (which is my main reason for a low score)

The other food was nice apart from the Chicken melt... The chicken was dry and hard. The table was very dirty...

Good food and value for money, helpful and friendly service with a nice outdoor seating area/ The location is ideal also, just opposite the pier.

A proper Spoons gem. Fantastic value for money and a winning location. Food quickly served and brought to our table, quality amazing for the price. Beer and drinks options offered a wide selection for all tastes. Jugs of cocktails perfect kick start the weekend. The Moon and Starfish is family friendly in our opinion. We were there on a Friday afternoon. One of the best. Recommended.

We had 2 x Carlsberg and 2 x Vanilla Vodka, orange, and Pineapple juice, all of which seemed to be not to the typical quality and appeared to be watered down! The food was good, however, and good average wait considering how busy it was. Could do with a good clean.

Avoid this place at all costs. The staff seriously need to go back to the charm school and demand their money back. The worst spoons I have ever visited

Much improved since my last visit about 5 years ago, nice pub with friendly staff and customers, I would visit again when in the area.

Terrible service I asked for an American breakfast they didn't give me my bacon and I asked for it they gave me freezing cold bacon gave it back it took 10 minutes just to warm it up not to cook it. Staff ran away from us when walking past the table and went through a different entrance to get away.

Love the staff and the way they at least try but sadly Wetherspoons food is really going downhill. Not just here but nationwide whether it's supplier related or just changes. Steak Tuesday and the 8oz steak was horrendous quality and the Fish and chips equally poor. Staff could clearly see the issues and refunded, but these issues are happening in numerous Wetherspoons Venues.

Ordered a bottle of Heineken on the app....it didn't arrive went to the bar to ask. The staff were very unhelpful and I had to prove that I hadn't received it. The staff are slow and distance they should all go back to the charm school and ask for their money back.please avoid this place

This is the worst Wetherspoons around! They are so far behind with there menus it's crazy we had the new meal that were being advertised a year ago in Hastings and a year when in harwich!! Get with it clacton, needs a complete overhull, toilets are disgusting 🫣

Another town another spoons. Moon and starfish was good. A great location opposite the Pier. It was Rather busy when I visited but still served quickly. Seating outside and a smoking area as well. For me the real ale is main reason for visiting. Although the rest is not very far behind

Typical weatherspoons you know what to expect. Ate here for breakfast and had a drink here previous night. The small full English I had was usual standard and a little warmer than some spoons I have been to. My wife enjoyed her toast and marmalade and as usual coffee that you can get refills. Bar prices very good value as always previous evening when the bar was very busy due to the Euros.

Great milkshakes, serivce was go good that my banana milkshake came at me so fast it spilled on my suit and ugly mug!

Ok we got a table first time food was hot and the beers were cold all good, the loo was easy find as all good again.

Out of all weterspoons this is not a favourite of mine. The location is lovley near the beach however atmosphere and staff do bring the rating down. The staff can be rude (not all) and the toilets always smell really bad and hardly clean. The service is a hit and miss depends on the day and time of day.

Sat outside, enjoying the breeze and nice atmosphere, with a drink. Just don't eat the food 🙂

Extremely noisy outside with swearing and shouting. Ignored by staff

Nice clean spoons pub with varied real ale on tap. Good service. My only complaint with all spoons is the disabled toilet also functions as the only baby change facility. This often indices the ire of those entitled disabled persons. I had to fend this guy off telling him "I'm just baby changing my son give me a few minutes please" If spoons could fix that issue and offer baby change in the main toilets this would make the issue go away for good.

I really liked the pub, had plenty of space, a nice veranda view outside looking across to the entrance of the pier also you can see the ferris wheel

Great atmosphere for a Wetherspoon, but busy for a Friday afternoon! The pancakes were good and they piled on the fruit which was lovely! Would recommend a visit if you’re looking for somewhere to sit and enjoy the afternoon!

The gammon special today was a great turn out and the free milkshake really hit the spot ... I've been smiling all day long ;)

The food tastes overcooked. It looks old and out of date… A lot like the clientele that eat there I imagine.
