Once again had the lamb kebabs didn't disappoint 😋

Good fish and chips shop run by Lukas who seems highly experienced in the trade. Ordered white backed plaice which was cooked to perfection. No greasy batter and everything cooked how it should. You pay a little extra for the money but certainly worth it. For those who have a gluten allergy they provide food GF on a Tuesday which I think is great. On top of fish and chips there is also an interesting house grill for those wanting prepared kebabs and burgers. Overall a well establish eatery with a lot going for it. Highly recommend.

Food was barely warm and delivery was very late

Food was 1 hour 20 late and cold and bland.Asked for a receipt didn’t get one, have been chasing now for 2 weeks and am now being ignored. Gave them the benefit of the doubt to sort this out at the time but to rudely ignore is not on. Instructions on order were also ignored. Would not recommend. A star for the delivery driver who was polite

I’ve ordered here before and it was nice, but the second time 2 things were missing from the order and the coleslaw was fizzy. I had to bin the coleslaw and the chips it had touched, won’t be ordering again unfortunately

Portion sizes have reduced considerably and seems expensive compared to other fish and chip shops.

Food is constantly late being delivered! Estimated time changes several times. Waiting two hours since we ordered! We have ordered from here several times and each time the same. We have given it the benefit of the doubt a few times but this is the last time we will be ordering from them unfortunately.

I love fish inns food but rather than the order being early, it would be nice if they slowed down and packed all that I order. not the first time I have had missing items. all listed so really no excuse to tick off items as packed. chips and curry sauce missing.

Absolutely fabulous I had to ring after making an online order as had to tweek the order they were more than accommodating we all had different things off the menu the food was delicious 😋 I had the mixed kebab the lamb shish was perfect I have had food from here before always very good will definitely be having more

Rang up twice to find out where it was and eventually it got here over 45 mins late. The food was barely lukewarm. Not happy! If you profess to do food then do your job. It costs enough!

Usually order here often but will not be ordering again. Food was half hour late. Burgers had no sauce or salad in. Tasted like cardboard and food was nearly cold. Absolute disgrace.

First time I've tried loaded chips. They were delicious! Chips with cheese sauce and extra grated cheese. Lovely!

The best fish and chip shop around, but very disappointed with the fish it was overcooked very dry. But would still recommend using this fish and chip shop.

Didn’t get kebab special and curry sauce

Was really easy to make an ordered on this application. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have the time to cooking their dinner on a very busy day at work.

Food never arrived. I called several times to be told the food was on its way, when they finally admitted they never processed the order in the first place. The management then we're very aggressive on the phone and have now refused to give a refund which I'm disputing with Just Eat. If you want to order fish and chips, go elsewhere as you've no guarantee they will actually give you any food.

Doesn’t listen to the order anymore :( I clicked no tomatoes and got them. Asked for separate sauce and coleslaw they was together ( picky eater doesn’t like food touching). The food is always great but reading the instructions isn’t great.

Just ordered 2 x large middle cod and chips I've got to say it's probably the best bit of cod I've tasted. The fish was lovely and firm and chunky. Thank you

Waited over 2 hours for them to deliver, ended up just requesting a refund. Lady rang me up apologising saying she will accept the refund. Just got a text from just eat saying they won’t give me my refund. Scammers

I asked for fish and chips and the fish to be cooked fresh and they didn’t. They took one out of the cabinet and cooked one fresh. It was the most disgusting piece of fish I’ve ever eaten. I would recommend you avoid this place like the plague.

Absolutely disgusted whole order is stone Cold. And the portion sizing is a joke. We have sent the food back to them. I would like a full refund for everything as it has gone back to the restaurant.

Had a Donnor Kebab very dry meat. was told it was the best fish/chip in clacton some one told me a pork'e. May try the fish/chips on another day.Might have been a one off.

I had a beautiful piece haddock with chips, while my neighbour had sausage in batter and chips. it was lovely to sit in garden and enjoy our meal together. Thank you all.

My food took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive. When it arrived all the food was cold, the fish was soggy and the chips were all mashed up and stuck to the paper so that most couldn’t be eaten. Very disappointed.

Food is always late and cold. Be careful when you order food as the photos of it arnt accurate. They have that a lamb doner kebab comes with salad and chips in the photo it doesn’t come with chips and they have done the same for chicken nuggets. Food was late and the man I spoke too wasn’t understanding as to why I was calling and seemed as though he didn’t want to speak to me. Food took 2 hours to arrive

I will be honest, I used to use the Fish Inn quiet a bit because of quality, service and price! But a few years ago that changed and the service and quality went down the toilet.. So I have been using every "Chippy" in Clacton, trying to find somewhere to match the quality and price of what the old Fish Inn used to offer. Then recently a friend told me they got the most amazing Fish and Chips ever! And yes it was from the "Fish Inn" Bockings Elm. So last night I thought I would give it another try. And my friend was right! Like and the team have done an amazing job and totally turned the place around. Now bear in mind I don't usually write reviews, but the quality and price of the food I recieved from the Fish Inn left me feeling I needed to let people know that This is now by far, the best Fish and chip shop anywhere in Clacton, offering great food, friendly service and a price that doesn't leave you feeling robbed. So if like me you have become disappointed with your local chippy. Give Luke and the team at Fish Inn Bockings Elm a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Great Job Luke! Staff are bare faced liers they tried lieing to uber saying I wouldn't answer the phone because there delivery driver couldn't find me so they could keep the money for the order that there driver still had unfortunately for you fish inn the uber agent see through your lies disgraceful Avoid this place

Was regular customer ordering online for home delivery and never had any issues, Until ordered usual order and didn't turn up, phoned shop after 2hrs and was told driver tried with no answer at door or phone, not true, 1hr later food arrived uncooked not edible,, Won't be using again, shame, but don't want to get food poisoning. (All the drivers I've met have been polite and friendly)

Shame the service lets down the quality of the food. All three delivery’s missing items two of which were chips. Frustratingly having to wait for chips to be delivered. Meaning rest of food goes cold.

I order from This shop quite a lot but the last couple of times I’ve ordered through their website they have taken my money but cancelled my order, I didn’t get a refund for the last order id had that they had cancelled either really poor service, I ordered again to give them another chance they accepted my order when I called they said they have to cancel my order I placed online as they’re not delivering to my area tonight

The best Fish and Chip shop in Clacton. Generous helpings of chips and the freshest fish available in the area. Also a comprehensive menu of other foods such as kebabs and burgers. You must try this takeaway before you try any others. You won't be dissapointed. 5 star quality.

Found this place by accident and boy are we glad we did. Beautiful food, excellent service, couldn’t have asked for better.

Love coming here if we are on holiday, food is always great, selection is brilliant and you can order online and collect. Excellent for a Saturday night or any night to be honest.

Really poor tonight. Was delivered 15+ minutes after saying it was out for delivery. Takeaway is round the corner. Doner burger was delivered without any Doner meat. Rang the shop and told them about it and also that the chips were almost cold. Was told they would send out replacements for both items and that they wanted the other items back for “Quality control”… fair enough. The replacement burger arrives, but no chips. So, stuck with the old stone cold chips.

i never got a lollipop with my kids meal i am utterly devastated and disgusted as i was promised one in my meal and never got one i would really appreciate a return for the trauma this has given me i am so unhappy.

Unfortunately this will be the last time I use the fish inn, ordered over an hour ago. Food is late and hasnt arrived and when I phoned they couldn't tell me how long it will be :-( Cancelled through just eat, have 2 hungry children, now have to go elsewhere.
