Un encantador restaurante de estilo francés en Roman Road. Primera visita para celebrar un par de cumpleaños y tener una salida prenavideña. Después de algún debate, como hacen un menú de Domingo Asado y a la carta, pedimos del menú de Navidad Comenzando con cócteles y aceitunas A continuación se combinaron varios entrantes, entre ellos salmón ahumado y remolacha, rillette de pato con tostadas de pan agrio y bouillabaisse con mucho marisco. Mains eran de venado con repollo saboyano y ñoquis con salsa de camote Venado estaba tierno y la salsa con castañas era cremosa y deliciosa No había nada realmente para empaparse de esto - demasiado bueno para salir - así que pedimos un poco de pan Los postres fueron crumble de manzana y bayas, helado de pasas de Málaga y pudín de chocolate. La comida era excelente El servicio era muy bueno - agradable y eficaz - por lo que es una noche bastante agradable

Second time overnighting in, this time, our new campervan. Real locals' pub with lots of doggy friends for our Henry. The free dog treats didn't last long... No burgers ('cos Winter!) so we both had ribeye steaks. Great flavour but they were a bit thin! Staff were really friendly, toilets clean and Guinness was good. Recommended.

Friendly, attentive professional staff. Welcoming comfortable beautiful village Inn. Comfortable bed, clean, warm sound proof room. Great dining & breakfast. Great location. Plenty of car parking. Well maintained grounds. Quiet village, local shop & PO. Train STN, famous Settle to Carlisle line. Great location for exploring, walking.

Outstanding ice cream. I’ve eaten ice cream all over the world and I have to say Salcombe Ice Cream is probably in the top 3 out of the hundreds if not thousands I have tasted. I tried three flavours, Salcombe Mud, Chocolate Orange and Blond Chocolate. Very good indeed.

We’ve visited The Punch Bowl many times, as it’s just 10 minutes away from us, and it’s always been a nice pub in the past. Unfortunately, something has changed, and it’s not for the better. Upon arrival, we were met with stares from the locals, almost as if we were being judged on whether we were ‘worthy’ of being there. Despite having made a reservation, we were seated at a cramped table in the corner, right by the serving door, which was kicked open into my chair. The table had originally been set for three, but it was hard to see how it would’ve worked comfortably for any diner being so close to the door. There were other tables available, including one with just young children at it, so it felt unnecessary to place us where we were. The food was okay, but it no longer felt like good value for the price. Additionally, we were charged for a drink we didn’t order, though it was promptly removed when we pointed it out. All in all, this community pub no longer lives up to what it once was.

The food is absolutely amazing and such great prices but it's the staff that really make cafe aroma special. It is run by the most wonderful family who make their guests dining experience their top priority. The waitress magda is fantastic and very attentative. You will never feel more welcomed and valued as a customer than when dining in cafe aroma. It's wheelchair friendly too!

Lovely little café selling hot drinks, cakes and breakfast/brunch. The staff were really nice and helpful! They also have good vegan options, which I really appreciate, especially for such a small town café :) The flapjack was good — not too sugar-y like many flapjacks are. Couldn’t resist also getting some handmade earrings from the range of art/crafts/food gifts on sale.

Well, me and my wife and my dog grow up in Sowerby Dalton area and we popped into Thirsk lovely little place but then we did want something to eat. We’ve driven past the Nelson but we weren’t sure so we popped in there was space lovely lady behind the bar Seemed very very busy but found us a lovely spot came over and spoke to us. Think I went for the burger and chips no vegetables if anyone asks have you and Ella allergy? I always say vegetables Not Sure my wife had river I love you dog sat down comfortably. I think a lot of pubs will struggle as this particular small town had a Wetherspoons and we all know Wetherspoons are cheap. I do visit them quite a lot sometimes you just don’t want the atmosphere Said the local atmosphere but the staff very friendly something you don’t really get Wetherspoon. I’m not sure we did and we have a new puppy who is a big labrador cross but located is very nice won’t be in the area again so won’t be visiting will certainly recommend for others some parking outside or we parked down by the river and we could’ve just walked up.
