The best restaurants serving British food in England

Absolutely worth a visit. Amazing food and great service from a chap called Alfie! We will definitely be back in January for the tasting menu.

When we got there, we saw a sign that said 'overflow car park'. Absolutely accurate, the river had overflowed into the car park, which was now a pond. Service was a little slow to start with but then improved. Food was excellent, so was the company and the atmosphere. Defo going back some time.

As expected, Great food, good friendly service. We visited for brunch. Although it was busy, service was good.

Extensive range of meals and specials. Good value for money. Very friendly and attentive waitress. We had a booth overlooking the front which was prettily lit and would probably have a fabulous sea view on summer evenings.

First visit and not the last! The food is excellent. Every dish each family had was presented well and very good. Good service. Could do with some portable heaters around the tables or available on request.

Excellent food and service, I had the beef pie the meat was tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly, will be going back again

Really good meal but disappointed that they had run out of the chilli jacket potatoes. We had to queue which was not a problem and shows even in the middle of December there is a high demand to eat here. Really clean and fast service.

Lovely, atmospheric cafe bar. The only downside side is having the loo on the top floor. Nice staff. We didn't eat but thee food looked great.

On nous avait recommandé ce fish and chips comme étant le meilleur, mais quelle déception ! Même ici En venant du Luxembourg, le prix n’était clairement pas un problème, mais pour 140 £ en famille, la qualité n’était tout simplement pas au rendez-vous. Franchement, on aurait préféré dépenser cette somme ailleurs.

Quick efficient and tasty, called after a family event locally. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Even gave the kids a little gift. Visited many a time and never been disassociated.

Always really friendly staff and a great selection of drinks. Really historic building so great atmosphere.

Just been today, with my Wife, Sister and Nephew. We had a good time, the food was exceptionally good. My Nephew liked the fish Sea Bass Filet in that case, my Sister had and myself had the Old Gate burger with chips, my Wife had the Guijon Chicken Burger. The Waiter was not pushing ( specifically with the bill ) at all All in all very good

I like the Lounges, I don’t always want conventional breakfast foods so with their all day menu I can get a decent burger or a sandwich with chips.

Good food Good service Nice atmosphere Comfy chairs Would have been nice to have Christmas crackers on the table to make it feel more festive Would be nice to have a better selection of drinks on draft but wouldn’t stop us eating here again

We went to the new ADORE on weds 17th for hubbies birthday just the two of us as locals we really wanted to try the new restaurant ! We can honestly say we had one of the BEST meals ever . The CHEF has a passion an a love of food an you can tell by the flavours an the care of each an every dish .The moment you enter this restaurant the staff great you with a warm smile an the amount of care an attention they give you is first class .The service is 100 percent !! Back to the food peppers padron followed by the prawns which by the way are heaven then on to the steak which was cooked to perfection an one of the best tasting steak i have ever had !!! the house red is yummy an the deserts i had choc churros hubbie had the creme catalan which also is the best he ever had tasted!! The chef came out an had a chat which was really nice hubbie really enjoyed that he took time out to talk ,CHEF is passionate about his food an it is perfection he really cares about his food thank you to all the staff in the kitchen well done an thank you so so much everyone who made my hubbies birthday even more of a treat front of house and our waitress you should pat yourselves on the back you deserve to be thanked !!! see you all at the end of August can not wait x 5 stars all day you must book an try i ADOURE ARDOR!!!
