The best restaurants serving British food in England

We chose to visit during a live music event, the band and staff were excellent and friendly. My only detractor was that some of the building looked a little dated.

Great cafe, really nice food, and in a beautiful building. Serves, toasties, sandwiches, afternoon tea, cakes, etc.

We love Toms Cakes, we visit a lot for their lovely choice of cakes, it is always tricky to decide which one to go for! The seating area is relatively limited but we do usually manage to get a space, even if that means we have to wait a few minutes. The staff at very good at asking people not to reserve seats until they have purchased something, ensuring that those who were there first have a choice to sit down if they wish to. In addition to the super cakes on offer, there is also a good selection of delicious paninis, sausage rolls and quiches. There is an outside seating area to enjoy on a warmer day too.

Lovely scone on Thursday , BLT on Friday. Great stop off point if you're doing the hill. Breakfast outside in August on't motorbike. Great location.

Lovely community pub with 4 casks ales with a nice welcome on a busy Easter weekend. Good play area and beer garden.

Wonderful service We popped in for coffee on a walk, and returned for a drink on our route back. Sadly too busy for us to have lunch although the gorgeous waitress Dion offered us a roast outside. What a shame for this beautiful place closing, and what a bonus for the Pandora to have these wonderful staff joining their team. Thank you Dion. X

This is a cracking pub, excellent food, and a great location with large outdoor seating and kids' play area. I throughly recommend a visit. Fabulous Sunday lunch. Cheers Stone

Last evening I asked for any gluten free drinks as I am coeliac 2 managers had no idea what was gluten containing drinks Not one member of staff had any idea and I was told I could drink any wine or spirit which is not the case Very rude and dismissive in front of other customers, unprofessional and ignorant

A pleasant experience to spend a great time in this small cottage style establishment while enjoying a delicious English breakfast to compose yourself! There is even the possibility of playing board games with your loved ones. The staff was very friendly. (Special mention to the black pudding)
