The Lecca Cafe in Brighton and Hove

have been to this cafe a few times while in brighton! it’s a very small but very nice cafe. prices are reasonable and the service from the people that work there is great. thank you

This is my favourite spot in my locality. A cozy cafe where I usually go to unwind and think. The food is great and the energy around the place is fascinating. The morning breakfast with a cup of coffee is my favourite.

The staff were lovely. Quite a small place that is tucked away. The coffee is made from an instant coffee mix and microwave milk, but it did taste delicious.

Great breakfast at a reasonable price, served hot and fresh, in a clean healthy surrounding just the other side of the primary school.

This cafe hides in a rather unprepossessing parade of shops hidden up in Bevendean and as a result it is rather tucked away and not quite on the way to anywhere. It is a good choice for a simple, tasty casual lunch. Offerings include a very good soup, jacket potatoes, pasta dishes, fried breakfasts etc. I had the soup which was both delicious and served with attention to detail, herb-toasted bread and a suggestion from the owner that the chilli sauce would add a bit of extra zing. (It did!) There was also a good range of cakes and drinks. The atmosphere inside is warm, friendly and relaxed and there is a free book exchange as well as newspapers provided. It was apparent that it was quite a favourite of tradesmen popping in either to get takeaway food or for a quick bite to eat. The owner was clearly happy to have telephone orders and prepare the food ready for the customer's arrival. I will certainly be visiting again when I am anywhere near this area and looking for a quick, tasty and healthy lunch.

Great place with really friendly people. One minor irritation though I was sitting outside with friends last summer and got in to Small argument with a guy with a dog who lives above the cafe. His dog ,a black and white sheepdog type, is quite snappy. It caused a problem with my table .Words were exchanged and we were bombarded with lots of verbal abuse. Been back a few times ,he always seems to be floating around with his dog or another woman,I have seen him away from the place and they shout across the street. Can be intimidating. I think they are drinkers! Otherwise excellent.

Lecca Cafe is one of the best in Brighton. Customer service was excellent. Andrea and Boubacarr welcome us with a delicious Chicken Baguette and a yummy veggie delight.

Great café, prefect for a post park run full English at very good price...will definitely repeat.

We went to the Walrus to have an early dinner before going to a music gig nearby. The restaurant upstairs is nice and well looked after. We had a number of starters to share. The garlic bread was nice and the meat and cheese board. The bread was am so very nice. I ordered the Chicken Schitzel, which was actually a Cordon Bleu. It was not flat like a Schitzel and had cheese and ham in it which a Schitzel does not. It was ok, but I would have preferred a Schitzel. My wife ordered a burger with chips. But as there were 5 of us, they decided to bring the good out gradually. But my wife's burger and chips were not very hot, the rest of the food was nice and Hot. The restaurant took the first drinks off the bill after we complained. I am not sure if I would go back.

We visited The Walrus on a Saturday lunchtime. It is a very nicely set up pub, with lots of tucked away areas. Our light lunch was excellent and the service was very good. But the beer! I tried three different lagers in the search for one that was nicely served. The head on each and every one disappeared within seconds of serving and the result was three of the most uninteresting glasses of the flattest lagers you ever saw. It would help if The Walrus used brewers glasses, kept an eye on gas levels and cared for the drink beyond just getting in in the glass and away. So many pubs get this right. The Walrus is missing a trick by not getting it right and not seeming to care about it.

Stopped off for a beer and some food along the beach. Food is good. Nothing special, just your standard beach grub, but it was well presented and tasted good so it was what we were expecting. The service on the other hand was absolutely brilliant. Super helpful with vegan requests and allergy information. Drinks were quick and they even offered to watch our drinks while we went towards the sea while we waited for our food. Checked back on us in good time, gave us an ashtray before I'd even lit my cigarette, and were just generally lovely. It's not a fancy place but wow are they hospitable!

Bellissimo l'interno del locale con la lavagna nera rettangolare sul mobile di cucina, la gentile proprietaria che serve ai tavolini col vassoio di legno a tracolla, le alzatine con gli scones e il cream tea davvero gustosi. Tante torte da assaggiare.Le tazze e i piattini a fiori, tutti volutamente spaiati per accentuare l'atmosfera vintage. La musica foxtrot di sottofondo.

Although there is no competition around this cafe does not get complacent. Great views of the parks and outdoor seating. Very dog friendly and cool staff. The breakfast I had was huge and value for money. All normal cafe menu and usual drinks both hot and cold. Vegetarians are also taken care of with options for breakfast and sandwiches. Great little place that I will visit again if I'm in the area.

This is one of the best english breakfasts I had in the Uk. Lovery small cafe, fresh deliviouse food, spotlessly clean, and the best is the friendly attitude if the iwner and her husbend the chef. And we Loved Eddy their dog. We will back soon!!

Delicious food every time. Chicken baguettes always a winner. Fast service and lovely hot food. Takeaway only at the mo but will be back in when all opens up properly.

Gem of a little cafe and have a good choice of food for vegetarians. Good place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is of excellent quality as is the service. Also have great daily specials on. Well worth a visit.

We found this amazing cafe whilst dropping our son off at uni. The food was absolutely delicious. It’s run by a lovely family who went out of their way to make dishes just how we like them! Mine wasn’t even on the menu but nothing was too much trouble! We will definitely be back 😃

Not only everything is home made but they can make any sort of toasties with the ingredients of your choice, if you end up not liking what's on the menu.

Thoroughly enjoyed having lunch here at this cafe! The service was amazing and it was always with a smile. The food was all home made and my favourite was the chicken tikka baguette. Yummy.

This is a lovely little cafe, with a free book exchange. Our breakfasts were delicious, reasonably priced and served with a smile. We'll be back when we visit our son who lives just round the corner.

Good food, great service... I'll definitely be back to try more of what they have to offer! The community board and book exchange are great additions too.

Lovely cafe with nice informal feel. Very clean with good choice of breakfasts and lunches. Perfect for a quick stop off to grab a bite to eat. Daily newspapers there to read and book swap system. Only other comment is the quality of sausages need to be improved as the current ones are poor - this however is not a deal breaker unless you're a sausage connoisseur.

My husband & I often eat here & we are always welcomed with friendly smiles & chat. Great food, clean, relaxing & good prices. I defo wld recommend to eat here.

This is a great little family run cafe. Always nice & clean. Serves a wide range of foods, both healthy & the best fry up. It's nicely run by husband & wife who are both lovely & polite. My husband has even taken our own plates to bring me a fry up Home when I've been poorly. I fully recommend eating here. It's a shame it's so fare out in bevendean as I'm sure they wld be very busy if not hidden away.

I love the Lecca Cafe! It's like a little jewel in the area. Andrea is very friendly and welcoming and will always get whatever you fancy. The food is well-prepared and tasty and you can get a good sized meal or snack. There's also a little book swap library which is nice to browse. I like coming here for breakfast or lunch or to treat myself to some tea and cake!

Nice quality tasty food, the staff are very friendly, nice quiet atmosphere but can get busy at times. Worth the drive there.

Go regularly for lunch and it has the best Ham, Egg and Chips in Brighton! Also does a good breakfast. Has a daily special and I love the CurryWurst a German special of Bratwurst with a curry ketchup sauce. Trust me it is brilliant!

Really nice - excellent tomato soup. Good range of lunch options. Relaxing atmosphere, a free book exchange is a nice touch. Well worth the trip if you are in the area.
