Definitely my 'go to' coffee shop in Guisborough, - I've been going for years. The specials lunch menu has something for everyone, changes regularly, and is freshly made on the premises with quality ingredients. The best coffee anywhere, and all the cakes and slices are homemade on the premises too. Warm scones from the oven if you time it right too! The last reviewer was clearly mistaken in what she saw, or else she was sat in a different cafe. Jason and his team wouldn't dream of tarnishing their reputation with bought in Morrisons scones. If he's sold out, he's sold out, and that goes for everything. A little gem of a coffee shop! Highly recommended!

Nearly missed this little cafe on Guisborough's high street, but it looked quite inviting with it's stylish exterior. The printed menu looked quite ordinary, but we both fancied items off the specials board. I had a pulled smoked pork ciabatta and the OH had a chicken gyros. It was a bit slow coming, but hey, we had all the time in the world. We both really enjoyed our choices and the coffee was very good. It was also very reasonable and I would thoroughly recommend No. 30 Westgate.

Visited the cafe with my partner on a late morning at the weekend, he ordered a cappuccino and bacon panini and I ordered a cup of tea and a scone with jam & cream. After around 10 minutes our drinks arrived at the table along with a small blackened scone with a sachet of butter. I wondered where the jam & cream was as we had paid extra for it, but assumed it would follow when the panini arrived. After another 10 minutes passed, my partner asked the waiter for some jam & cream and asked how long the panini wait was - the young lad came back with the jam & cream and politely told him his panini would be next. Another 20 minutes went by, still no sign of the panini and both of us sitting infront of empty cups with my partner starving. We totally understand waiting in a busy environment, but the cafe wasn't exactly busy. Eventually we noticed that people who had arrived 20 minutes after us were being served bacon sandwiches, at this point my partner asked for his money back for the panini and crossed the road to Gregg's as he was starving. I can't understand why there would be a 45 minute wait for a bacon panini (god knows what time it would have actually came) in a half empty cafe, and why people who came in after were being served bacon first even after we gave a reminder in case we were forgotten about.

When it comes to places offering a good selection of food there are not many options open to vegans and those who don't do dairy. No.30 is that rare exception and well worth a visit. Just like gluten free options (also catered for) you don't have to require them to enjoy them and I would challenge anyone not to enjoy the various cakes and traybakes on offer here. I haven't tried any of the mains yet but they look great value,so maybe next time. The cafe itself is cosy and clean, and the staff are welcoming and full of humour.Definitely will be going back.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

I visited this little cafe a couple of years back with my husband and whilst the food was good, the service was really slow. Being busy working by appointment, we often have very limited time for a lunch break, so didn't return. However, we have since heard such good reviews that we just had to give it another try.Having sampled the gluten free chocolate orange cake and caramel heaven the other day when we had a shorter break, hubby and I had decided we would swiftly return soon for a trial of the main menu. Whilst there's the usual offerings of Panini's and scones (a popular option in our local towns), there are also a lovely selection of home-made mains, which appear to change very regularly keeping things fresh for the consumer. We'd decided to visit on a day when we could have plenty of time to enjoy the anticipation of good food arriving, rather than clock watching. Today was such a day! I chose the mushroom stroganoff, the other half went for the chorizo and cod stew.At just £5.00 each, even with mediocre flavours, if it was served hot and fairly swiftly, it was going to be great value. However, mediocre flavours would be an understatement. The stew was packed full of yumminess and the stroganoff was beautifully balanced with a range of veg and just the right amount of seasoning for my taste.Service was prompt and charming. Given how few patrons there were, it would have been disappointing to have waited too long. We actually waited for 15-20 minutes. For home cooked food, served piping hot (and it really was piping hot), I can wait 20 minutes. We had to, of course, take away another portion of the gorgeous chocolate orange cake, for later too. We were just nicely full from our lunch to enjoy it to it's fullest. ;)We shall most certainly be back and look forward to recommending No. 30 Westgate to our clients and friends.Thank you!

MORE AT TripAdvisor

Having thoroughly enjoyed a couple of cakes to take away (a GF Chocolate Orange Cake and a Caramel Heaven Flapjack), my wife and I decided that this place was well worth trying out for a lunch. We were not disappointed - Being foodie people, we have become fed up of only having options of jacket potatoes, sandwiches or paninis in virtually all lunchtime cafes in the area. Therefore, we were delighted to see a range of hearty daily specials on the menu. Even the paninis are "create your own", which is a great idea.My wife chose a Mushroom Stroganoff which was full of flavour and packed with mushrooms, peas and beans. I went for a Cod and Chorizo Stew, which, again, was really hearty, flavoursome and full of the title ingredients. At only £5 per meal it wouldn't have been a surprise to find that the portions had been bulked out with cheaper ingredients but this was definitely not the case. Overall, we both found the place excellent value for money and a high standard of food. The staff are extremely friendly and create a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was freshly prepared to order so isn't suited if you are in a rush but with just a 15-20min wait we felt that it wasn't unreasonable considering the quality of food and not an issue at all if you are happy to enjoy your drinks and a chat whilst waiting. We shall definitely be returning in the near future.

My husband and I called in this lovely little restaurant on family recommendation. We were more than satisfied with the food. Well presented, delicious and quick service. The place is spotless, very small, but has more than you would expect to see in such a small place. There were two other tables occupied when we visited, so not sure what the place would be like when it is busy. As it was in the time of Halloween, they had placed in the window a "melted witch" on a stool with a hat on the seat, legs and shoes and a broom, very effective. We commented to the staff that we had been recommended by family which they were pleased to hear and I commented on the melted witch, to which I was told to look out for their Christmas window display. That we will, definitely, when we next visit.

I visit here often and am always amazed at the range of specials and wide selection of cakes and tray bakes available. What has impressed me recently is the interesting range of deli items in the new deli range, something Guisborough has desperately needed for a long time a shopping specialising in new and upcoming foods and a great range of speciality drinks. Now the thing I love the most is that the food is fresh from start to finish, so yeah a little wait maybe required (but 30 minutes from a meal from scratch! you can't complain). From the soup with the home made bread through to the delicious home made pork burger or kebab or a tasty filled Panini (where you pick the fillings!) or a steaming hot cuppa and a piece of delicious cake chocolate orange, carrot or a tasty home made scone. This is one of the upcoming places to be. The owners Jason and Mel are one of the reasons you would want to visit too, so friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them. I can't wait to go back.

It's quite easy to walk by and miss this café as it is long and narrow with a small front, but I would wholeheartedly recommend stopping by it.We visited at lunchtime, around 2pm, and only 2 of the 7 or 8 tables were free (admittedly the tables are only to seat two). This meant we had to wait about 20 minutes or so for food but we had ordered hot food rather than a sandwich so it was expected. The selection of cakes and bottle drinks at the counter are very tempting but we went for two of the items from the day's specials board to share. Although the 'standard' menu is predictable, the specials (see photo) are more varied. We went for the bean burger and the sweet potato soup. Both were delicious and very good value for money. As vegetarians we were pleasantly surprised that we were well catered for and didn't have to rely on just a cheese toastie!I can't resist a good piece of cake/traybake so I tried the peanut butter and chocolate slice which, alongside numerous other cakes/traybakes on offer, was vegan. My only complaint is that I hadn't tried this café earlier!

A nice little cafe - coffee and tea were fine. One downside is that the toilet is not accessible through the cafe - you have to go outside and around the back of the property - we didn't do this so can't comment on the facility once you get there!

We often pop in here for coffee with a scone or cake and sometimes a light lunch. The coffee is second to none, the food always delicious and the service excellent. The staff are among the friendliest in town and they have built up a large number of regular clientele. It may be a small, narrow bistro but has a lovely ambience.

It's my favourite cafe to go to when I visit Guisborough . I normally have problems when I ask for a weak latte in some places however it's always been spot on here the meals I have had have also been of high quality.

We had superb coffee, a wonderful courgette cake and the best possible service from extremely friendly staff. If tripadvisor had a 6 star rating this superb café would get it

We are regular customers of No.30 and find it friendly and conveniently in the centre of the town. The freshly made soup is my favourite and we also enjoy the Paninis . Specials such as Shepherds Pie and Fish are served daily and the Coffee they serve is far superior to the large chains in the town. It has become a very popular venue and one which I would recommend if visiting Guisborough.

We decided to have a drive to Guisborough and have a walk around the shops. We were looking for some where to have lunch when we came across this restaurant/coffee shop. They were advertising what was available for lunch outside on a board. A fresh salmon salad was on the menu. We decided to have lunch. The restaurant is very 'cosy' because it is not very wide inside. It also has a very homely feel to it. My wife had the fresh salmon salad with a Latte and I had a cheese and ham toasty with a pot to tea. We enjoyed our lunch but my wife said the salmon was slightly on the dry side. The lady taking the orders and serving the food was very friendly and very customer conscious. The service was very good!It would have been good to have a table next to the front window so we could see the high street, but that was taken when we arrived. We noticed that numerous people came into the restaurant looking for tables only to find that the restaurant was full. It's difficult to see whether there are tables available just by looking from the outside. The restaurant is obviously very popular with local people. The restaurant has a good selection on the menu with daily specials, and the cakes and scones looked to be home baked. Everything inside was very well presented. All in all we had a good lunch and the experience was very pleasing and satisfying. We would definitely go back again on a future visit to Guisborough.

We've been here several times - from just a pot of tea-for-two to a full blown dinner with friends! This time it was an anniversary meal for myself and my wife. Food was great - starter and main a bit
