I was made to feel welcome as soon as I entered and went along way towards making my day a good one. The staff and customers are lovely, with both being community driven. With all the seating, you could be mistaken for thinking it is bigger on the inside than the outside. If this confuses you, then don't worry; the pupils of the nearby school will call the Doctor for you. Ideal for people of all ages, whether you are passing through and need a quick cuppa tea or on a ramble and need something bigger. For those who have a dog, your hairy family member will be allowed in if the other customers are okay with it. For the summer months, there is outside seating. Toilets are available, as is parking nearby.

My friend and I have just visited Jolly Olly's for lunch - a stop half way around our walk. I had a chicken and green pesto wrap which although it was really very nice it was a disgusting size for the money. £4.50 for a tiny wrap. I was really annoyed and should have mentioned this and should have declined to accept it. My friend had a bacon and sausage bap which cost £3.80 - this was much better value. You could arrive and be the only person in which case the lovely owner/staff will happily chat to you, an hour later the café could be full of noisy groups of visiting cyclists/familes with children or friends then you could wait a little while to get your order but MOST people are happy to wait for the fabulous food on offer I fit into all the above groups. We've been to this cafe twice. Both times haven't been particularly enjoyable. It's nondescript. The decor is functional (modern and style-less) and the tables crammed in. Service slow. The first table we chose today was by the front window and there was dirt on the chair and mould on the ceiling above. We chose a second table a little further in and there were plugs by the table which were grimy and the window- ledge there also didn't look very clean. The range on the menu is very good indeed and the staff are very nice and work very hard. But it is quite pricey. Worst of all though is their system: you go to the counter to order and they do one complete order at a time. We only wanted two coffees but had to wait ages as there were four orders in front of ours all wanting hot food. Today it was unfortunate as about 30 cyclists all came in about the same time. The staff did well to manage them but it was extremely noisy and chaotic. We're pleased the cafe is supported and that is services as a hub for the community. But it was uncomfortable for us. I do think that a group like this taking the cafe should put their orders in in advance. Or just book the place out. If we'd realised what the whole experience was going to be like we'd have happily gone elsewhere. Having waited quite a while for the coffees I'd got hungry and ordered some chocolate tiffin. It was smallish and tasteless.

We, members of Basingstoke Ramblers, enjoyed a brisk walk from Stratton Park to Oakley where our leader had wisely taken the precaution of prebooking places for our half way refreshments in this this cosy family run coffee shop and tearoom. Service was friendly and cheerful in a great atmosphere where patience was much tested but unphased and prevailed over multiple orders and we finally tracked down the missing Earl Grey which one of our number having ordered Breakfast tea was too polite to return. Great selection of fresh coffee, teas and home made cakes. Clientele, for the most part local, enjoying the personal service with books and magazines in a welcoming neighbourhood club format. It was good to see a wider range of home made cakes this time rather than the Costco offerings we noticed on the last visit. We both asked for the chicken, red onion, cheese and pesto panini. They both arrived without the red onion but we were hungry and they were very tasty. I asked for a green tea and was surprised when peppermint tea arrived. My family and I have been visiting Jolly Olly regularly since shortly after it opened a few years ago. We normally walk there along a path through the fields and the village of Oakley. There are about a dozen tables, ranging from two to six seats, although special arrangements can be made. In warm weather there are tables outdoors. You are sure of a warm welcome from the delightful hard-working staff, and you can choose tea, coffee or hot chocolate, cold drinks, sandwiches, panini, home-made soup, and perhaps best of all an ever-changing assortment of delicious home-made cakes - including some that are gluten-free. You can book a set-piece meal, such as high tea or cream tea, which is excellent value; or just walk in and be sure of a seat at any time (well, nearly any time!) The best thing about Jolly Olly is the friendly, informal atmosphere; it's just like dropping in on friends (and friends who bake amazingly well!)

What a delightful little gem to stumble across whilst out on a family walk! What we loved about this coffee shop was the good old fashioned, warm welcome - in comparison to the impersonal Costa experience, where you're taken for granted, here they were really pleased to see us. We will certainly be dropping by again.

With an hour to kill while the dog was at the groomers we decided a coffee break was in order. Jolly Olly's provided the perfect pit stop with a couple if delicious skinny lattes! The only problem is, once my wife has taken a look at the scrumptious home made cakes on the counter I always end up having to buy a slice or two . Excellent friendly service and a great range of tucker means that we always go back and the owner, Jo' always has time for a chat to get to know her customers which is just what you would expect from a village coffee shop that serves the community. Thankfully very different to your Costas of this world. Will we go back..........ALWAYS

I would certainly recommend Jolly Ollys to anyone in the Oakley area. They serve great bacon sandwiches, a lovely cup of green tea and a good range of cakes. It was very busy when I was there, which is always a good sign, but this didn't hinder the excellent first class service that I received. There is a lovely atmosphere here and it is made even better by the the owners (Jo and Andrew) and their great team. I will definitely be going again when I'm in the Oakley area.

All I can say is wow… this place is super warm and friendly, excellent place to meet up with friends before or after enjoying one of the local walks… and the Coffee, food and cakes are to die for, wonderful locally sourced selection (actually spoilt for choice) and very reasonably priced... The staff are exceptionally helpful and patient, which comes in handy when I can’t decide what to have..:) – I often recommend this coffee shop to my friends and they all agree, this is one of the best in Hampshire – highly recommended..!

I stop for a coffee here often. The staff are really friendly and it's always nice inside. Very good choices of food available. If I have my Son with me he makes good use of the sweet shop inside. What more could you possibly want in a village coffee shop. Excellent.
