The Holly Blue in Basingstoke and Deane

Gorgeous setting both inside and out. We (my husband and myself) originally booked for 6:00, but wanted to move our booking forward to 5:30, which they happily accommodated despite a busy Friday night. We each had one of the burgers (I had the Satay Chicken and my husband had the H&W), and a shared portion of their wings. Food came out in very great timing, and everything was very delicious. The staff are super prompt, helpful, and friendly. Overall a very great dining experience and we will definitely return. :)

I visited The Holly Blue on Tuesday and had a great experience during our lunch service. Our server Josh was very attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We would love to come back soon!

Beautiful pub with fabulous decor. The staff are lovely, attentive and very well mannered. It was 6 of us and we had Sunday roasts and burgers. All the food was outstanding with extra free gravy and Yorkshire puddings, what more could we want??!!!!🤩🥳 It was busy today and yet the atmosphere was chilled and relaxed. Looking forward to going again.

Very good atmosphere and service, can’t fault the young, eager to learn staff. Decor is amazing. Food wasn’t bad, just average. Had the club sandwich and was decent, no egg in it which I would expect. I expected the wings to be fried but were in some kind of sauce. Again, not bad - just not what I expected. I’d still go there for a drink. Nice place.

Quiz and music bingo are excellent. Daren is an excellent host

The quiz on a weds night is absolutely fantastic and the quizmaster is really fab - loads of teams and very competitive so make sure you brush up on your knowledge before you take part!

Visited for Sunday lunch - greeted nicely by friendly staff. Lovely big pub, well furnished and lots of room and space between tables. Sunday dinner was nice, roast beef was pink and tasty with unlimited Yorkshire puddings. Cauliflower cheese was only luke warm but was replaced straight away for a hot bowl, unfortunately a bit tasteless, but that was the only downside from a lovely meal.

This was a perfect place for breakfast. The full English was delicious. Both Vicky and Maddie made us feel very welcome and were attentive.

Wonderful morning coffee and cake, with fab service from Vicky and Maddie. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely lunch with my two young children and the staff could not have been more helpful. The window seat is perfect for entertaining my toddler and the children's menu is just right, not too big but enough choice for us.

We arranged to meet friends at this pub for Sunday lunch, all having travelled a fair way to do so, but unfortunately both the food and the service was terrible. My husband and I both ordered the roast beef Sunday lunch option and it was not good. The potatoes were rock hard as they had not been cooked properly. The beef was chewy and lacked flavour and we ordered a side of cauliflower cheese, which I am not sure had been cooked at all! It was so hard, it was practically raw. Our son chose the children’s roast and had the same experience as his roast potatoes were also rock hard and undercooked and his meat was chewy and fatty. The price of the meals did not reflect the quality of the produce used, as it was very expensive for very poor quality. Our other son chose three scoops of ice cream for dessert and agin the price did not reflect what he actually received, as it was very expensive in relation to the size of the portion which was small. All in all, a very disappointing experience, definitely not value for money and we would not recommend eating here.

Lovely cosy meet up for coffee and cake with friends! Maddie and Vicky were really welcoming, they brought colouring over for my friends little girl and were really attentive.

Chose this pub as it has easy access to Basingstoke town centre where we were going to see a show. Arrived at the pub before our booking but were seated without having to wait. We saw other folk eating Sunday Roasts and they looked so lovely that's what we chose. The beef was perfectly cooked and everything else was great too. There was a delay in us being served the desserts but as soon as I chased up, they appeared and were well worth the wait. Sticky toffee pudding and apple pie were the best we've had for a very long time. We will definitely return.

Debbie, our waitress, provided excellent service with a friendly smile. The food was delivered promptly and was delicious but could've been served a little warner.

Daniel was so genuinly kind and lovely, thank you. The food is usually better but tonight was so-so but the service made up for it! (P. S. They are always good at asking about allergies)

I truly can't see how you could justify £8.75 for the plate of salad leaves and 3 tiny falafels that I had today, £3.60 for half a pint of coke - shockingly poor value for money. Despite being very local we won't be returning. Used to visit regularly a couple of years ago and stopped visiting as quite often certain items were off the menu and the quality of the food wasn't great. I see you have also stopped giving the square of fudge or tiny biscuit with the coffees. We nearly fainted with excitement when we were given a humbug each with the bill. Thought we would give it another go but came away feeling disappointed and very ripped off. Such a shame..

First time here. Lovely atmosphere and surroundings, complete with lovely service. The Cronuts were lovely, but the coffee was absurdly hot. Burned my lips on the first sip. Do not go here if you want a good coffee! Shame about the coffee, as everything else about the place was lovely, and dogs are welcome which is a big bonus for us.

I came for food and drinks a few days ago, and thought it a lovely experience! The food was delicious, especially the double cheeseburger. Food came out quickly, along with the drinks. The staff were fabulous and very attentive, with Kienan standing out above the already great service! He was very helpful and just elevated our experience. I would most certainly dine here again!
