Great beer and really nice food.

Lovely stop on our way down to visit family we had travelled from Wakefield and needed tea good menu with ple ty of choices for all ages xxx

Nice old pub good food though a few menu items not available. Had a fair wait for the food but it was nice. Service was ok but not fantastic really they seemed quite new and inexperienced.

Very nice pub with good service and very nice food. Had separate free parking, a 2 minute walk.

We went for a family meal and left having enjoyed an excellent meal , good service and good beer I would recommend this pub for all the above reasons not just for families but for any occasion.

Heartfelt thanks to Steve, Lucy and the team who went out of their way today to feed my family after a whirlwind, crazy weekend away. Steve whipped up a delicious roast dinner and packed it up for me to take home. Missed the ambience of the pub but still absolutely delish and definitely one to try (again and again!) An outstanding family pub for everyone. We’ll be back very soon!

We were so pleased with our lunch at The Kings Arms here in Whitchurch. I had the mediterranean tart which came very warm and crisp straight from the oven and was accompanied with a salad dressed in balsamic sauce and chips. Delicious. A friend enjoyed her white bait with chips and peas and my other friend had scampi and chips which was very good she said. Compliments to the chef and also the delightful servers. I return on 19th for lunch - looking forward.

Sunday roast consisting of one beef and one lamb. Veg was unimaginative. Rock hard boiled carrots, fine beans and baby corn (baby corn on a roast is massively questionable). Once again the Yorkshire had a burnt taste to it. This is the 2nd time we have visited in the last 5 months and will be the last.

Always a good atmosphere and friendly staff whenever I visit, which is about once per month. Never takes long to be served at the bar, and the food I've had has come out quickly and been of good quality. Only criticism is the cost of some things, such as soft drinks. I regularly have to be the driver, and I found it a bit steep paying like £4.35 for a pint of orange juice and lemonade when my friends are paying between £5 to £6 for a pint various draughts.

Lovely old building with a friendly warm and welcoming atmosphere. The special of venison and mushroom with mash was amazing!! Great food. Dog Friendly 🐶

Current landlord is making this into a really great pub. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Had the lamb roast dinner, meat was just right with plenty of toast potatoes and veg with extra gravy.....very filling.Husband had the three meat roast and really enjoyed it.

Had a lovely family get-together lunch here. The food was very good, tasty and well-presented, with large portions. Also dog friendly! Recommended!

Had dinner with some friends. Great menu, I had the pie of the day which was boeuf bourginon. Delicious. The veg was perfectly cooked too (it’s the little things!). Good selection of beer too. Everything I want from a local pub!

Popped in to have a pint and catch up with a friend. Great location, very clean and tidy, and the service was great. Would definitely go there again.

I gave a negative review 4 years ago and I am pleased to report that things have improved. The set menu could still be improved, but the specials we both good. My stone bass with butter beans was not overcooked, as fish often is and the potted lamb was good too. The experience is further improved by cheerful and professional young serving staff. Well done.

Lost its charm sadly, used to be able to swing by grab a nice light lunch and have a pint during the week. (dirty fries or a pizza etc) but now the food is all too formal for a quick pit stop. Also much less choice of drinks. I get the impression that the drinks on tap are what the landlord likes, very few good Larger’s and zero IPA’s to choose from. Not everyone likes flat ale! But it seems they do so there is a few ales to choose from. Food wise the menu is limited and lacks some traditional good old pub favourites. Fancy burger that is not actually that great, a venison burger etc. I hope it works for the new owners but never seen it so quiet at lunch time during the week. Used to be busy for lunch and now its not. But prices and portion sizes are good. Also the new staff are not a patch on the old friendly chatty lot.

Sunday roast was beautifully presented but meat (lamb) was really gristly and the roast potatoes rubbery (frozen?)

Was under a management change at the time, so a little limited, but the staff were very helpful, and it was dog friendly inside.

Cosy, with 2 separate bars and a snug. Lovely outdoor dining area too. Plenty of real ales on tap that were conditioned perfectly. Tasty, pipping hot food. Great decor. Excellent service. Recommended.

We ate at the Kings Arms this week and I couldn't praise them anymore. Service, food quality and atmosphere all 5* - even with it being very busy with the Christmas rush. We will definitely be back.

Top quality food and really good service,we popped in to the kings arms on our way to the Bombay sapphire distillery for my wife’s birthday and had goats cheese starter which was incredible,then beef brisket ciabatta with fries for a main meal which was also delicious……thanks to the polite staff and really nice pub with original features etc.

I liked this place. Had a nice lunch there. And whilst Whitchurch is tricky for parking, The Kings Arms should be on your list to visit.

First time here. I have to say, it was brilliant ans worthy of 10 stars. Warm welcome with a smile as I entered. Food was excellent. Service excellent 👌. Definitely worth the trip away from the motorway. Molly and Ellie both really friendly and welcoming. Thank you so much for a lovely lunch.

Sadly there was no food at the time we visited, on a Sunday evening, so we didn't stop, but the pub looked to be a pleasant place.

We were walking by at lunchtime and looked at the menu outside the front door of the pub and thought it looked suitable for our needs. It was excellent. Great food, excellent friendly and efficient staff who explained everything clearly and were only to happy to help and serve. Thoroughly recommend.

Love this place. It's my local and it's ace. Pizzas - amazing. Home smoked meat and a pub menu that isn't gastro, but isn't just your big standard pub grub. I recommend The Kings Arms to anyone that will listen to me.

Staff are super friendly and accommodating, food didn’t start till 6 and we were way too early but they even tried to suggest alternative places if we couldn’t wait. But the food was definitely worth the wait! Tasty and filling, pub food without being tradition pub food!

Under new ownership and new folks are working hard to make it welcoming. Food is inexpensive and great value pub grub and a range if pizzas. Fily meal for 4. Was all excellent

Great local pub, food is very acceptable for a local pub. Proper hungry pub hungry food! Great selection of beer and the staff are extremely friendly. Really nice vibe. The garden is not the biggest but a lot of it is undercover so if you want some shade or its raining then its ideal. Being walking distance to my house is always a massive bonus! However if you are passing through and fancy a good pint or a bite to eat then a great choice!

Whitchurch is a pretty village we stopped at on our way back to the Midlands. Only had a light snack at the King's Arms, but the food was excellent and service prompt and friendly. It also has a good size beer garden out the back.

We love it here. The pizzas are delicious, the drinks are great - massive appreciation for Pimm's on tap!! The service is so good and everyone was so kind and friendly to our dog. Cannot recommend enough!!

Stopped here for a drink and was tempted by the dirty fries. Flipping gorgeous. We had blue pig fries and my big fat Greek fries. Both were utterly delicious and a generous portion. Would definitely recommend. Lovely service too, from friendly staff.

The menu really doesn't do this pub any justice. I really don't want to sound rude, but when i looked at the menu i wasn't expecting such great food. I wish I was local, I'd eat here on a regular basis.

It was pleasant enough & the beer was very good. The outside seating area was brilliant - without it, we'd have been stuffed after the first elements of lock-down were lifted... Personally, I especially liked the table service... 😉

Friendly staff without the incessant 'is your food ok, is there anything I can get you'. Menu, from my experience, is somewhat limited, and is nice enough albeit on the expensive side. Well worth the visit as it offers very pleasant surroundings.

I worked the door here and the owners are really cool. The girls who work there are friendly and love having a laugh with us. I love the history behind the pub and love the fact that it's a nice pub for nice people. I haven't tried any of the food yet but I do plan on going for food. I've smelt and seen it and my fat arse wants some.
