The best restaurants serving British food in England

Probably the best pub you'll visit in Yorkshire, lovely food, fabulous staff, a proper unspoilt English pub... perfect in every way.

We come here every week for either breakfast for lunch, the food is exceptional, always served quickly and generous portions. The staff are always super friendly.

Had a roast dinner and it was excellent my only complaint was the Yorkshire pudding were shop bought

Good choice of tasty bagels. Bacon roll available until 11:30am. Good coffee.

Came here around a year before and the food was awful, but we came back due to it being a family birthday dinner, and the location was chosen by someone else so I was hopefull it might be better. Well it was worse. A group of 10+ people on a long table that would make anyone feel claustrophobic.  Food was ordered in 3 groups but at the same time, all the food came out at different times even food a same order came out at different times. Waitress came out with food no one had ordered, so that got sent back. 3 people were left with no food for 15 minutes whilst everyone else got theirs. The waitress had to ask us all "what's missing." After those 15 mins,2 out of 3 people got their food finally. My partners was the only food missing which took almost 15 more minutes. Once received, everyone else had basically finished theirs, but the actual meat was stone cold. I don't mean it was lukewarm, it was actually cold like it's been in the fridge for an hour.  I have never seen anything like it in any restaurant I've been it. It was like an episode of Hells Kitchen, just without Gordan Ramsay swearing in the background.  At this stage I was just angry and just took the entire meal to the bar and said we don't want it and we want the money back. We got a refund, and it basically ruined the experience. Not only that but the food we did get wasn't nice, I'm puzzled how so many people claim the food is good when the burgers are tasteless grease, the chips are flavourless and barely cooked, to me it's inedible.  To top off the entire experience, I now seem to have food poisoning the following day, so thank you.  Birthday invite or not, I won't be returning here. 

It's right in front of the accommodation, so I stopped by for a beer. It's a very real local pub. There's no food (small snacks?). You just order beer in front of the bar and get it. (Prepaid) And there's a really cute hot dog dachshund.

Highly recommend. Traveled on my own. I happened upon here as i was visiting PAUS. down the road and The Red House was recommended on their website. A wonderful pub and room beautiful - everything to a very high standard and super clean. Very easy and relaxed. Will stay again and recommend to friends

Went for Sunday lunch. Could not fault anything. The quality,quantity and service was exceptional. It was nice to have cauliflower cheese at no extra cost. Will definitely be back.

Friendly staff, superb coffee, food is tasty, hot food is hot, as it should be. Breakfast is a good start to the day. Still our go-to place in the heart of Truro when drink or food is uppermost on our minds.

A lovely atmosphere sadly the food did not live up to expectations. Maybe not fair to judge a Sunday lunch when you arrive after 2pm but they took the reservations. Excellent staff very professional and attentive. All the meats were over cooked and dry having said that the veggie’s were excellent they need work on the Yorkshire pudding they were dry and hollow no flavour or texture. I assume this was a one off because the place was packed and just had that air of excellence about it. An excellent wine list very well priced..

Dropped in for lunch. Friendly inviting atmosphere. Great service. Good range of items on menu. Plenty of room inside and out. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was so light, utterly delicious 🤤

Sophie was good fire her because she deserves to work somewhere that isn't green 🍏

Didn't eat here just went for a pint after chrome hill... What a loverly spot in the sun... Food looked good that was being served.. Staff were friendly

My wife and I went to The Old Feathers for Valentines night. We had pre ordered and what a lovely evening it was, service was brilliant, the food was absolutely wonderful and the ambiance of the place is excellent. The staff are very friendly & efficient. Well done Old Feathers, Highly recommended. We will be back
