Just been for Sunday lunch, had the pork with all the timings and oh my it was delicious and I would highly recommend, the cauliflower cheese is to die for, was welcomed as soon as we entered and a swift pint of Thatchers and half a cider was had.

This is what I said last time and it still stands: A real hidden gem in Hereford. The owners are really lovely They are genuinely really friendly and lovely. They host a super quiz once a fortnight and offer great food at a very small additional cost. We love going there.

As previous reviews said it was a good place to visit, we did. The inside decor is odd and not very welcoming. We sat outside, with a great view of the old bridge and river. There were a lot of old people smoking, which was not good. We had a Scampi and an Ale pie, both of which were well over cooked. The Scampi tasted horrible. When I paid the bill there was no sign of remorse from the landlady. It’s a pub for the local drinkers. GIVE IT A MISS!!!!!!!

Spoke to the new owner Simon and they were just 9 weeks open. We had popped in for a drink before driving home because the pub looked great from the outside and being a sunny day on the river, why not? Beers are good and cheap, the wife doesn't drink so a 0% San Miguel on tap was very appreciated. Decided to do the Saturday Tapas and for £18 for two (5 dishes plus extras) it was all homemade and great value. Stayed to watch the football, a few more pints and an excellent Portuguese tart and Americano for wifey. We loved it, informal, good value, and friendly service.

I was out for a walk by the river & saw this pub listed on Google maps so popped in for a quick refreshment. It's quietly unassuming with a lovely atmosphere. Prices were unexpectedly reasonable considering the riverside location, and the wine was respectable. A little gem!

Pleasant small pub on the river Wye opposite the Cathedral between the picturesque Wye Bridge and Bishops Meadow, with outside tables overlooking the river. Basic lunchtime menu Monday thru Saturday, roasts on a Sunday. We had baguettes served with salad and crisps, nicely prepared and presented. Friendly landlord, spotlessly clean loos.

Popped into the Saracens head after seeing they sold Sunday roast dinners. What a great pub. Service was fast and friendly. Food and drinks were good and prices were reasonable. Lovely view of the river if you sit outside.

Lots of positive reviews about this pub. Nice location. 2 x large bacardis with coke, and 2 x bags of crisps. Total charged = £17.70 Decide for yourself if you think that's a fair price to charge, even if the pub is indeed on a river bank. We didn't think so. Finished up and relocated to a different pub in Hereford for our evening out where prices for the same order suddenly got more reasonable - £10.90 to be precise.

Just popped in for a meal as it was quieter than the busy other side of the river. Cannot explain or find words to explain how perfect the meal and service was. It has a beautiful view of the river. Owners are welcoming, have a good chat and tend to your every need to make sure everything is to your preference. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a nice meal or a quick drink 👍👍👍

We made the booking two days before and all we had requested was available. All staff were attentive. Face masks were worn as necessary. There was sufficient space between tables. Service and food was very good. Only slight fault was the cost of parking which was not specific. The restaurant could have offered to cover that cost.

I have used Saracens on and off for 30 plus years and it's had its ups and downs over the years. Thankfully its on an "up" at present the new landlords are really trying hard to make people welcome, which is encouraging. It's in a fantastic location, right next to the old bridge on the river Wye.

We popped in on the off chance, as we were passing on our way to the cathedral. The staff were very obliging and allowed us to bring our dogs in,no problem . We ordered a Tuna sandwich and a cheese and ham toast ,they were doorstops! on lovely soft fresh hand cut bread. They came with proper home made chunky chips that were not at all greasy.Lovely cuppa too ! Excellent value at under a £5 each. We would recommend.

Looks like a very typical boozer that might be better suited to the decent range of ale it sells rather than for its food. However it worth going for a quick pub lunch. If you want to go for a slap up meal go somewhere else. Tasty toasted sausage sandwich made with doorstep bread and a basket of well cooked chips for £5. My wife had a very acceptable chicken salad for less than £7. If you are passing and feeling hungry it's safe to give it a try

Located next to the river Wye, a short stroll from the town centre. Decent beer selection, with a good range of bottled choices. Food comprises of mainly sandwiches. The main reason for giving a good review is the landlady and her staff are friendly and welcoming. Always pop in for a beer before strolling along the river.

I stayed nearby for a little solo trip away and popped into here for my Wednesday evening treat. Atmosphere was delightful, staff so friendly, and the food was great - good for veggies too. One of the best pubs i've been to in a long time. The nostalgia of a toilet block separate from the pub building too. Just remember it's cash only.

From start to finish, fabulous welcome, informative and relaxed atmosphere, food really good (sunday lunch), and knowledgeable about local events and things to do in the area, we are booked to go back for the quix night, but we are really not quizzers but a good excuse to go back to this little gem
