Can't believe called in having a drink. Being me cheerful happy self with a mate. Just to get abuse off bar maid for being happy. Was asked not to bother coming back. And they wonder why they got no trade. So tick that pub off. Lovely place though. Great toilets and clean lacks atmosphere due to certain bar maid. Sorry.

Ahoy, fellow revelers! So, there we were, a Friday night on the prowl for liquid delights, and guess where we found ourselves? None other than this charming little establishment tucked away off the beaten track. We strolled in, the door chimed a merry greeting, and the cozy ambience wrapped around us like a warm hug from an old friend. Now, my drink selection is not a task I take lightly, and this place had me grinning from ear to ear. The local ales were flowing, and the wine selection was as tempting as a siren's song. After much contemplation (which might as well have been a religious experience), I settled on Nightjar, a divine Stout by Wye Brewery. It danced on my palate like a moonlit jig and was as spot on as a bullseye in a darts competition. But that's not all, my friends! The food menu beckoned with promises of culinary bliss. We made a pact to return for the Sunday roast, for we've heard it's the stuff of legends. And let me tell you, that's no small claim in a world full of foodie fantasies. Oh, and here's a twist to our tale - on our way out, we stumbled upon a treasure trove of duck eggs, freshly laid and going for a mere £2 for half a dozen! We grabbed 'em like they were golden nuggets, feeling like culinary pirates who'd just found buried treasure. But wait, there's more! This pub isn't just for satisfying your hunger and thirst; it's a haven for our four-legged, tail-wagging pals. It's as dog-friendly as a golden retriever in a field of tennis balls. So, bring Fido along for a pint; he's sure to make a new buddy or two. In conclusion, this local gem has won our hearts. With its libation delights, gastronomic temptations, and dog-friendly charm, it's a treasure chest of good times waiting to be plundered. See you at the Sunday roast, and don't forget to bring your appetite and your furry sidekick!

Was really looking forward to visiting here as reviews were good. As a local to the area remember many fabulous meals at the slip. So sadly disappointed. My burger although tasty was similar to what I can buy in the supermarket and at £15 felt overpriced. The bun was burnt on top. Side of onion rings were oily as was the coleslaw. My sister's prawn tagliatelle had about 6 prawns and a rather thin sauce she said tasted like dishwater. I tried it and it did leave a rather unpleasant aftertaste.£20 not well spent. Not one to complain we decided just not to return. However when the manager/ owner? asked how it was and we politely told her, she ungraciously suggested the bun wasn't burnt just toasted and the coleslaw couldn't be oily because they don't use oil in it. I don't know what they make their mayonnaise from. When I pointed out a mistake on the bill, undercharged for 2 drinks she went to the trouble of making up a new bill. It would have been a nice gesture to have left it. Sadly we won't be going back.

Really good pub grub. I had scampi and it tasted really fresh and the coating was full of scampi rather than the crispy pockets of air you get with supermarket packets of scampi. It was very busy for a smallish country pub but the young lad behind the bar was brilliant. He did everything, drinks, taking orders, serving food, tidying. He never forgot anything and was very smiley and chatty. He was definitely worth a separate mention. We’ve also booked in for Sunday lunch tomorrow

We hadn't been to this pub for about 10 years or so as, although it had always been good in the past, it's a little bit far from us to make a journey to. After seeing it was open again after it having been closed due to Covid, etc, we decided to make a trip out on a lovely sunny day from a neighbouring county. It's not a pub you come across if you're travelling on the main roads as it's situated off of a slip road but it's on a lovely quiet lane. The pub has had some major changes since our last visit but what we saw looked good. The garden which we remembered as being around the back is now situated at the front and is on what was once part of the car park; it's obviously well looked after as all was neat and tidy.On arrival, we were immediately greeted by a chap who gave us a short rundown on what had taken place since our last visit regarding the pub and within a short time his partner arrived and added to the story - if I remember correctly they took on the lease in 2019.Service of drinks and food was quick and meals were checked within a short time to see if they were okay and regarding refills of drinks. The homemade lasagne was superb, as were the chunky chips, Our son, who is a connoisseur of beefburgers had the beefburger meal and he said it was one of the best he had ever had (meat is sourced locally). Although eating in the garden you are next to the lane it was really tranquil as the lane is very narrow and there was hardly any traffic. The prices were proper lunchtime prices which was good to see. Having eaten outdoors over the previous two weeks at different pubs in our area we found lunchtime prices had become evening prices so we said we would rather spend money on fuel and travel to this pub with reasonable prices than stay local and pay 50% marked up prices as we had done recently. We will definitely be returning due to the prompt service, friendliness of the staff and the excellent food. See you soon!

They could offer instead beef or lamb in a baguette with chips and a tiny cole slaw and side salad dish.It was actually quite tasty. The beef looked pre-prepared sliced beef in gravy but with some horseradish sauce added was enjoyable. The pub garden was a pleasant place to sit as the pub is in a quiet back lane so was peaceful. A real hidden gem in Hereford. The owners are really lovely They are genuinely really friendly and lovely. They host a super quiz once a fortnight and offer great food at a very small additional cost

This is a lovely little pub, with great food, good service, and a very cosy and relaxed atmosphere. We particularly loved the steaks, which were huge, tender, and perfectly cooked, and also the steak
